With those reviews out of the way, its time to start the chapter!
Chapter 7
Departing Fairy Tail happened over a week ago by the point Genki, Mirajane and Erza came to an area that was quite close towards the snowy area that Genki thought they'd be able to get some answers about his friends, at least one of them.
Right now however, the trio had managed to gain a good distance from the location they previously were in, and landed in an area with snow and ice.
Though up north, it was rather cold, so Mirajane had a cape draped around her, Erza was comfortable enough in her armour, and finally Genki was fine with what he usually would wear, the cold didn't bother him.
"Ooh, it really is cold up here..."
"Not used to it, Mirajane?"
Erza asked, with Mirajane narrowing her brows ever so slightly.
"No, I'm fine. Nothing wrong with me. I was thinking about you."
Erza waved her hand towards the young white haired girl.
"Truly, I'm fine. My armour is more than enough to help me out."
Mirajane scoffed, while Erza stared towards her.
Genki looked between them, before adopting a small smile on his lips.
"Either way, its going to be late soon, lets find a place for us to rest for the night, and continue on tomorrow. Plus, its getting a bit colder so since towns wont be around for at least a half days walk, shelter would be the best..."
"Sounds like a plan to me. I suggest we find a cave or something, since it is still snowing." Erza noted. "Also, does this land feel familiar to you Genki-kun?"
Genki shook his head.
"I never came this far from where I was before, I didn't get the chance."
Erza rubbed her chin in thought.
"I see. So we still have some ways to go yet."
"It seems so. Thanks again Erza-san for coming, its been a blast getting to know you~"
Mirajane mumbled "Erza..." under her breath as she stared towards Erza, who in turn continued to look nonchalantly towards him.
"Its really fine. But, I can't help but wonder, the closer we get, how you would be feeling. I know if it was myself, then I would be feeling apprehension and also some worrying thoughts."
"I can't say I don't feel like that. But, I also have prepared for the worst at the same time, in case something was to happen."
"Hmmm, that probably would make the most logical sense. Either way, lets find somewhere to go now, so we can be ready for tomorrow."
Genki agreed with what she said, and bowed his head.
So, they all set off to find somewhere to get out of the cold, and into some warmth.
As they did so, from the shadows, a youth wearing a cloak appeared from behind a tree, and silently observed the trio.
After finding a place to rest for the night, and starting a fire along with eating some food, the trio began speaking about various things.
But as the night was winding down, Mirajane was thinking about various things, but that soon stopped when she noticed Genki was staring off into the distance.
Slight wondering came over her, and she approached with a gentleness to her face, something Erza, who silently observed, was surprised to witness.
"So tomorrow, potentially could reach the place where we find out that friend of yours fate. Thinking about it, aren't you?"
She guessed, and got the confirmation as Genki turned towards her.
"Honestly, can't stop thinking about it. Is it weird that though I want to know, I also kinda don't? Its weird, because this is a moment I have been longing for the most, yet dreading at the same time."
Mirajane thought it was pretty understandable, and expressed her thoughts as she sat down, folding her legs, and conversed with him.
"You wanna hold onto the dream of everything working out, and she will be there waiting for you. But on the off chance, in the end, it didn't work out, that's what you're thinking about, is that right?"
Genki couldn't deny what she said was pretty much truth.
"Yeah...but, I know that I have to find out, so my wanting not to know is gonna have to take a seat in the back of my head for this. Whatever comes of it, comes, and then...that's it I guess. To be honest, I'm a bit...I don't even know, it isn't nervousness...it isn't fear either...its simply the not knowing and the anticipation one way or the other of what happened that day."
To Mirajane, it was quite reasonable for how Genki was thinking and why he would be unsure of what to think about the next day. It was a huge thing that he had been working to, basically ever since he first met her.
"Totally understandable. If I had been separated from my siblings for this long, then I'd been feeling the same thing you are right now. The apprehension, the worry of what might come of it. But, regardless of what does come of it, just remember, that we also are apart of your life now. I don't mean to replace or anything...but you get it, right?"
Genki did, and he appreciated what she was saying to him.
"Yeah, I do. You and the others, have become very important to me." Genki stretches his arms above his head, and lets out a small yawning sound. "I suppose early to bed and all that, Mirajane-san. Lets get an early start. The wait is killing me to know."
Mirajane placed her hand on top of his own.
He felt a slight tinge of red beginning to fill his face, as her fingers slowly wrapped around his hand.
"Whatever we see tomorrow...if we get there, and she isn't...she isn't there, then it doesn't mean the end, you know? Nothing is final until we see everything. The results, the...pretty much everything. That is fact...and that it cannot be disputed. You get what I'm saying...if we don't have all of the things in front of us that confirm one way or another..."
"Then there's always hope, that's what you mean, right Mirajane-san?"
She nods in affirmation.
"Yeah, that's right."
Genki gave her a bright smile as thanks for what she was doing for him.
"Thanks, I appreciate how you've come with me and been beside me through this. It means a lot to me."
Mirajane began going through several shades of red on her cheeks, shaking her head, and looking side to side, looking slightly shy about what he said.
"No, its fine...I mean...we came here...together, and we are..."
"Together?"
Erza speaks up for the first time, Mirajane having misplaced the voice, and simply continued on as if Genki had said it.
"Yes, that's right, together..." She pauses, turning to Erza who keeps on a slight smirk, something that irritates Mirajane. "What are you even doing here?! Listening to private conversations!"
"I wasn't." Erza revealed. "I simply was going to get something to eat, that's all. I happened to hear you speak about being together. I agree, I think it is best that we are together. Now, how about we have a bath together."
Mirajane shook her head instantly.
"No, its alright. I can wait."
"It is alright, Genki-kun can join us, its fine."
Mirajane was left gob smacked by what she was implying. Genki lightly blushed, and turned his head right while Erza raised a brow.
"No, he isn't!"
"Why not?"
"Well, he is male for one!"
Mirajane exasperated voice carried to the casual looking Erza.
"Yes, what is the problem?"
"Again, he is male! I am female! That's more of a personal thing, don't you think?"
"If we didn't know him, then yes I'd agree. But, I think its fine for males and females to bond like this. Besides, it would give you a chance to explore many aspects."
"I have already seen many aspects of him..." Mirajane cupped her hands over her mouth, Erza raised a triumphant smile. "N-Never you mind thunder thighs!"
Genki widened his eyes, seeing that Erza was gaining a red aura around her.
"Thunder thighs?!"
"Yeah, that's right thunder thighs!"
"Haven't you got a place to haunt or children to scare!"
Mirajane gasped, and tightened her hand, Genki cringed, and held out his key, murmuring "Open, Gate of the Maiden, Virgo-chan." with Virgo appearing, bowing and watched as Mirajane and Erza squared off against one another.
"Don't say such things thunder thighs!"
"You stupid prune!"
"Porky!"
Mirajane yelled, so Erza made the 'come get me' hand signs.
"You want some of this?!"
"Gladly!"
The girls charged at one another, so Genki and Virgo had to separate them, while they flung insults at one another.
Though it was in part due to the rivalry they had been building up, Genki also suspected that they both simply wished to have a good time, and also make Genki himself feel a little more at ease as if they acted normally, which he was glad that they did, as he liked having this time with them.
Later into the night, Genki laid on the ground, tossing and turning as he tried to get to sleep, the sound of the fire beginning to go out filled his ears, he turned to see that in fact it was going out, so he contemplated trying to start it again, when he saw Erza at a distance, and was sat with her eyes cast out of the cave.
Curiosity came over him, he stood up, and slowly made his way towards her.
"Erza-san, is everything okay?"
Erza briefly was stunned, due to the time of night it was, and seeing the slight snowstorm that rampaged outside, her eyes focused upon the young boy, who gave a genuine concerned look on his face, something that she did appreciate.
"I was planning on where we were going tomorrow. That's all."
"I see, then that town I guess would be the best place to go, to get some supplies, and such."
Erza nods strongly.
But then she furrows her brows.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure, anything."
Genki sat down beside her, as Erza fumbled with her fingertips, and wondered on how to express her thoughts.
"I was thinking...say that you find this friend of yours, say that she is okay and well, if she is still in the place you were before, and you happened to meet...what I am trying to say is...what if she rejected you?"
Erza spoke in a manner to which Genki identified as understanding, and yet tinged with some sadness that was very well hidden. At least, that's what the young man thought anyway.
Erza didn't give anything about herself away, but she recalled a certain incident in her own past, which is why she thought that she would bring this question up.
But even then, the question itself, Genki truly was surprised she would ask such a thing.
Then he adopts a knowing smile.
"Honestly, something like that could happen. It has been a while, and I don't know if she's changed or not. But, if I don't at least try to find her, then it would feel like I didn't try my best. I know she would have looked for me."
"You're certain of this?"
"We made a promise, that if we got separated, that we'd look for one another, its why I have to try and find her, as I am sure she tried looking for me, and might still be. I knew Ultear-chan for a good while, and we became close due to our circumstances. We went through pretty much hell together...it bonds people, you know?"
Erza could understand that, as her mind cast itself towards some people within her mind.
One in particular, was sticking within her mind.
She didn't voice any of her thoughts at this current time, but it certainly was something that she could identify with.
"Yes...I can very much understand that. I do hope that we have success in this mission, if only to see this person you're willing to go so hard for."
"Yes...again, thank you for coming with us, we've been able to cover even more ground together thanks to the help you've given us. I can't thank you enough, you have a very generous heart, helping us despite not knowing us all that long. Is that the Fairy Tail way?"
Genki lightly joked, with Erza showing a serious expression on her face, catching him off guard.
"Yes, that is the Fairy Tail way. You never let your guild mates down. Though you aren't a guild mate, I have heard the stories that circulated the guild. Of course no one knows the extent of your past, but from what I overheard, I was taken aback, yet intrigued by how far you'd go for someone to be there for them."
Genki showed a compassion smile on his face.
"It takes someone with a big heart to help people that they hardly know, Erza-san."
"I suppose that it does. But its a very human thing to do, isn't it? To help those that need help, or ask for it. I think that's what makes being in a guild rather interesting."
Genki inclined his neck in agreement.
"I remember back in the guild, it seems that a lot of people consider you to be very strong, if not scary. But, I thought that you were bright, and full of warmness, on top of being strong. Though I haven't seen much of the scary yet."
"Act like Natsu or Gray, and it might happen."
Though her voice was rather harsh, Genki could see on her face that her lips tugged upwards ever so slightly, showing that it was more of a joke than anything else.
"Haha, got it~"
Genki and Erza continued speaking for a short time, simply enjoying one another's company. Erza also really did respect the way that he answered her questions, and told her everything she needed to know about who Genki was as a person, even more so than she already knew, and deep within her, she hoped that Genki and Ultear would be able to reunite again.
The next morning, Erza was the first to wake up, and she noticed that during the night, Mirajane had managed to get next to Genki, seeing her head resting on his chest. His arm subsequently was around her shoulders, it looked like a couple quietly spending time together sleeping.
Erza couldn't help but smile, and think "They will probably get together at some point." while beginning to prepare for some breakfast.
As she did, Mirajane began stirring in her sleep, and soon woke up.
Her eyes looked around, not even noticing that her head was currently resting on Genki's chest at the moment in time.
However, that soon changed when Erza spoke up.
"Is it nice to be cuddling someone like that?"
Mirajane gazed at Erza in perplexity.
But then looked down and realized what she was saying, causing her to lightly tinge her cheeks in red.
Sitting up, she saw that it was she that had eventually climbed into his bed, causing her to feel even more embarrassed that she subconsciously had done that.
"That is...well, it is something that we just do, not a crime, is it?"
Erza shakes her head.
"No, its normal for couples to do such things."
"We are not a couple."
Mirajane defended while Erza gave an intrigued stare.
"If you say so."
"I do say so, because that's what we are. We are friends, that met up, and have travelled together."
Erza pondered on how she was going to say the next words, but soon she simply went for it.
"That also have slept in the same bed together."
The young woman gave a slightly embarrassed face.
"I...It was a simple thing, that's all. You're reading way too into it Erza!"
"I don't need to read into anything, I can see clearly before my eyes."
Mirajane scoffs, shaking her head, and began getting ready for the day.
Soon enough Genki finally got up, and realized he was the last one, rubbing the back of his head and sat up slowly.
"Here, I have made breakfast."
Erza presented the food kindly, Genki gave an appreciative smile.
"Thanks Erza-san, it looks great!"
Erza nods, and they then begin discussing what they'd be doing for that day.
When they finished making arrangements, they set off as early as possible, so they could get what was needed, and continue on their journey.
Genki, Mirajane and Erza had made it towards the area that they wanted to go. Unfortunately, that also came with its own set of problems, for as soon as they arrived in a town, they found it to be under attack by some Rogue Mages, that were attacking various places.
They saw civilians trying to avoid and run away from them, but they were having little success.
To Erza's eyes, it looked appalling, to Mirajane, she wished to do some damage to the enemies and finally Genki was getting ready to fight.
"Damn, this isn't good."
Erza began, with Genki nodding his head, cupping his hands together, and gathering starry light within his hands.
"We need to help them out."
"Yeah." Mirajane added, allowing her Demon hand to make its return, and strengthened said hand with her power. "Genki, time to mess up these guys!"
"Right. Erza-san..."
"I'll go right, Mirajane..."
"Left, I know. Genki, you take the middle, and we'll meet on the other side of town. Seems like this battle has been going on for a little time, lets clean house."
Genki nods, and rushes forward, yelling "Be careful!" as he did so, allowing his magic to flow around him as he swept through the town itself, using his magic to begin shooting down some enemies that were attacking.
Mowing them down with his movements, Genki stuck out his key and exclaimed "Open, Gate of the Maiden, Virgo!" who popped out within moments, realizing what was going on, and sprung into action.
"Prince, it seems that you've called me at such a good time. I shall made sure the enemies are sunk into the ground so they cannot attack anymore."
"Thanks."
Genki nods with his thanks for the young girl, as he opens up his mouth, exclaiming "Moon Dragons Roar!" and unleashes a wide laser like beam of energy, moonlight energy at that, as he moved his head, which swept across the area, and defeated a good few Mages. They didn't hold much power, so they didn't pose much of a threat.
But as Genki was going through the town, he did sense one person that had a good deal of power that was attacking the town, he thought maybe it would be best to go and defeat the leader that they had, so that's what he did.
On his way, he saw something that astonished him.
It was the same cloaked figure that he had seen several times now, he was helping people, protecting them from the invading enemies, and using a staff to do so.
He paused, as did Virgo.
"Prince, is something wrong?"
Genki continued looking towards the cloaked individual, and when he noticed Genki catching him, he suddenly dipped out of sight, going behind a building.
"That boy..."
"Prince, should we go for him?"
"He was helping people..." As Genki said it, he heard the scream of a young girl. "...and we have others to help, he can come later."
Genki together with Virgo rushed through the towns streets, zigzagging as he did so to get through the streets faster.
That was until he came to a stop, and saw a family consisting of a Mother, Father, and a blonde haired girl that looked to be around Genki's age, that was being attacked by a long blonde haired boy, that had a rough looking expression on his face.
"Nowhere to run now, have you?!"
The blonde youth yelled out, and from his hands, what was strange to Genki was the fact that black flames began to escape his fists.
"No, stay away from us!"
The girl yelled out, as the flames increased in size and tenacity.
Genki wasn't aware of what the magic was, but he did sense how strong it was, he could feel the heat of the flames on his skin and he wasn't anywhere near them. However, the boy began laughing, and turning his attention to the girl first, rushing towards her.
The blonde threw his fists out, and flames shot out for the scared family.
Genki didn't stand for it, and leapt forward, as he announced "Moonlight Blades!" as he swung his arms out. From that action, he created crescent moon shaped blades that came out, and were rather sharp, cutting through the flames, and caused them to scatter the flames all away from the innocents, protecting them all.
The blonde haired girl looked towards Genki, and he gave her a soft smile.
"Do not worry, I will protect you."
The girl cupped her hands over her heart, and looked on with a slightly reddening face.
Virgo, popped out of the ground and stood beside Genki.
"Virgo-chan, could you get them out of here?"
"Yes, Prince."
Virgo nods, and uses her magic to take the family under the ground with her.
As she was, the blonde yelled "How dare you?!" and tried to fire off his black flames towards Virgo and the others, only for Genki to get in the way, coating his fists in moonlight energy, and blocked the black flames from getting close.
"Sorry, but you aren't getting through."
The blonde snarled at Genki.
"Who the hell do you think you are?"
"If you're asking for my name, you should introduce yourself first. That's what is done in polite circles."
The boy looked even more wild with those words, and showed his fury by increasing the black flames all around him. Genki wasn't intimidated by such an action, and kept up a calm face as the boy shot his flames towards Genki.
Genki did a sweeping motion with his hands, dispelling the flames with his moonlight energy, scattering it into different locations as he did so, then he placed his hand out, announcing "Moonlight Palm." and from his hand, a destructive beam of energy shot out towards the blonde haired youth.
It moved so rapidly that the blonde couldn't dodge out of the way in time, so he yelled "Flame Gods Explosive Flame!" and doing a punching motion, he generates a flame from that action sending it close in range to Genki's own attack, colliding with the moonlight energy, and mutually, they both created a wide explosion with flames scattering as a result.
However, what the blonde failed to see what Genki was able to use his energy in a more accurate manner, and caused most of the energy to be dispelled, with some remaining behind and continued on its path, hitting the blonde deep in the stomach, and unleash an explosion from the sight it hit, sending the enemy flying backwards, smashing into a house, where he let out a small cry of pain.
Genki pulled along, and began running towards the blonde to finish him off, when a giant black fireball was releasing in Genki's direction, so he swung his arms out, and created moonlight crescent shaped blades, which cleaved through the flames before they could reach his body, but he did feel the heat on his skin and he sweated slightly from such a power.
The young blonde pulled himself forward, and looked angrily towards Genki, holding a hand to his stomach which was bleeding due to Genki's attack on him.
"You little bastard, how dare you?!"
"You said flame God..."
Genki spoke, more to himself, than the actual enemy, as he was figuring out the man's magic before him.
The blonde smirked in resolution destructive ways.
"Yeah, that's right. Flame God, I am a God Slayer! Zancrow's the name, so don't forget it! And what's that moonlight shit you were talking about huh?"
"A God Slayer...so, you're an actual God Slayer, I had heard that they existed but I hadn't seen one face to face. To answer your question, I'm a Dragon Slayer."
The newly named Zancrow began laughing when he heard Genki say that.
"A Dragon Slayer? That's inferior to me!"
"Why? Because you can slay a God?"
"Yeah, and I'm about to roast a lizard on my flames. Seriously interfering here when you aren't welcome!"
"Looks like I crashed the party then, huh."
Genki replied with a hint of playfulness, mixed together with accurate seriousness at the same time.
Those words caused irritation to come towards Zancrow, who in turn shot forward. His fists engulfed in black flames, and came for Genki in a wild wide swing.
"You want to go boy?! I'll show you!"
Genki in turn back footed his movements, avoiding the fist, and swung his own fist out, which Zancrow naturally dodges away from, before flailing his arms, and moves his hand out, from that, black flames gather all around his hand.
Moving rapidly, the flames become condensed, and grow bigger, forming into a scythe, as Zancrow calls out "Flame Gods Scythe." and he swings it out, cleaving through everything in his path, and continued for Genki.
Genki leaps backwards, and avoids, seeing Zancrow stood there, twirling his black flamed scythe around as if it was nothing to worry about at all.
"Hahaha, come on Dragon Slayer! Show me what you've got!"
"Why did you attack here?"
"Recruitment, that's all."
Genki didn't know if he could trust that, something seemed a bit off with his explanation.
"Yeah, and you decided to destroy the town...just because you could, right?"
"Something like that. Dragon Slayer, I will turn you to ash!"
Genki watched him come towards him, swinging his black flaming scythe around, so Genki begins dodging the attacks.
While dodging, Zancrow finds some rubble on the ground, and kicks them up, adding his flames to them, and causes them to act like flaming bullets.
Responding to that, Genki thrusts his hand out, and causes them to stop mid air via telekinesis, but while doing so, Zancrow used this chance to snake to his back, and come down with the scythe to cleave the young man in half.
"Die bastard!"
Zancrow tried to cut the young man, only for Genki to raise his leg, and swing it upwards, as he announces "Moonlight Blade!" creating the same attack from before that cut his flames, only this time from his foot, and split the scythe in half, carrying on and cut into the flesh of Zancrow, drawing blood as a result, deep enough to leave a crescent moon shaped cut right across his chest.
Genki noticed however, as he did that, some of the flames of Zancrow's managed to burn his foot before he could fully release the scythe like blade. Though it did hurt a bit, Genki flipped forward, then turned to see Zancrow landing on the ground with blood leaking out of his body.
"When did you get so fast!?"
"Practice."
Genki responded strongly, while Zancrow looked rather pissed off, going towards some flames that the house had been set on fire with, Genki watched him devour the flames, while sending off a ball of black fire for Genki, who in turn dodges out of the way.
"How dare you mock me!?"
"I would hardly call what I said mocking, I responded with the truth. I don't know what you came here for, but I know for certain, that you have to be stopped!"
"I wont be beaten by a mere Dragon Slayer! Its time to disappear!"
Zancrow was reinvigorated, while Genki furrows his brows.
"So its true that a God Slayer can also eat their element to replenish their strength. His flames are also pretty strong, but I can see some holes in his attack patterns, enough to be exploited, and taken down."
Zancrow took up arms, and rushes forward, swinging his scythe around crazily.
Genki noticed that pieces of houses were being cut as they fought, and were beginning to go towards some fleeing people, so he used his telekinesis to catch the rubble, while also dealing with Zancrow trying to attack him, to give those people a chance to escape.
"Why don't you try disappearing first?"
With all of the rubble Genki gathered, he caused it to fire down towards Zancrow to crush him under the attacks.
But Zancrow lifts his scythe, and twirls it around his head, generating enough force to begin cutting down the rubble before it reached him, however this gave Genki enough time to take in a deep breath.
"Moon Dragons Roar!"
From his mouth, a beam of moonlight energy came firing out towards the enemy, Zancrow in turn knew he'd not be able to dodge it, so he took in a deep breath himself, and while deeply breathing, Genki saw black flames circulating his mouth.
"Flame Gods Bellow!"
From Zancrow's mouth, a giant black fireball was released, and clashed heavily with Genki's own energy wave. The colliding powers pushed against one another, Genki had to admit God Slayers did pack a good punch with their magic.
However, Genki pushed forward, and forced his way through the giant fireball, dispelling it as the flames wisps all around his beam of energy, Zancrow knowing he couldn't dodge, used his scythe as a shield, and tried to combat the attack that way.
But the resulting explosion caused Zancrow to be dug into the ground. His feet managed to keep him up, but the power of Genki's attack was ferocious, and caused Zancrow to begin feeling as if he wouldn't be able to fight against him for very long.
When Genki's attack stopped for a moment, Zancrow saw his black flaming scythe had been destroyed, and his hands had some wounds across them despite him doing his best to avoid being hurt. He was bleeding, and could feel his body being in pain.
"This little shit is good, but if I can find a way to get him to drop his guard...then yeah, maybe I can finish this little punk off. He is better than I had thought...bastard."
Zancrow looked for any opportunity that he could have.
Upon seeing one, he sees a couple trying to run away, so Zancrow smirks, and turns his hand towards them, unleashing a violent wave of black flames meant to incinerate them, while also shooting out a giant fireball for a house Genki could feel some peoples presences inside.
Along with that, Genki notices some other Mages attacking from a distance towards a group of civilians.
"What a dirty trick."
Genki uses both of his hands to generate moonlight energy, shooting one for the couple and cancelled out the black flames, while sending moonlight energy towards the giant fireball, and lastly, using a breath attack to save a few people from the Rogue Mages.
Zancrow with his underhanded tactics manages to cut into Genki's arm, due to having to deal with the other attacks, Genki feeling his skin searing, but managed to push Zancrow away with a blast of magic.
"Burn you bastard! Burn!"
Zancrow came in to try and attack again, Genki grit his teeth, as slammed his foot up with his magic escaping said foot, forcing Zancrow's body to be blown up as well as a result, then angled his foot to smash into the scythe, dragging it down to the ground, and crushed it with his moonlight enhanced foot, the flames dispelled everywhere, while Genki saw Zancrow try to make a retreat.
Before he could, Genki snatched onto his shirt, and dragged him closer.
With blood trickling down Genki's arm, he glared at Zancrow.
"Get off me!"
Zancrow tried to punch Genki in the face with his God flames, but Genki rejected that by snapping his hand forward, and hit Zancrow's wrist, sending the flaming waves towards the right, protecting himself in the process.
"Gladly. I'll even give you a present!" Genki tossed him up into the air, and made a stance with his arms to the left and right of him, as moonlight gathered around him. "Moonlight Butterflies!"
Using this technique, Genki generates light paper like butterflies made out of moonlight energy, that shoot from him, flapping their wings, and begin swarming Zancrow.
The young God Slayer was shocked and tried to fire his flames to take them down, but they easily avoid his flames, and surround him.
Then each of them lights up brightly, shining like stars, before they each detonate all around Zancrow.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"
His screams were silenced by the loudness of the exploding butterflies, which caused a mass of light to shine in the sky. It looked beautiful like stars, and to those seeing it, it also felt like a beacon at the same time, signifying the end of the battle.
Zancrow fell down to the ground, covered in wounds, bleeding a good deal and was unconscious as a result.
Genki looked at him with a shake of his head as he hoped that they would get some answers from him, and quickly turned to see more people needing help, so he tied Zancrow up, and began to help others.
A small time later, Genki and the others meet back up, and have the town under control. Along with then, it seemed some other Mages had helped out to fight the enemies off, and were beginning the arrests of those around. Including that of Zancrow, who swore vengeance against Genki in turn.
But Genki promptly ignored the threats of Zancrow, and stayed with the others.
When Mirajane saw his arm, she naturally reacted worried.
"You got burned?"
"From someone calling themselves a God Slayer. He used a cowards trick by endangering civilians."
Erza became bewildered when she heard that.
"A God Slayer? Not something you come across everyday."
"Yeah, a Flame God Slayer he said, and what I saw confirmed it as well, at least that he was able to use strong flames. Did either of you find out what's going on here? Why they attacked? He said something about recruitments to me, but it doesn't seem believable with how they endangered many, and from how they acted as well, it would have been a forced recruitment if anything."
Erza folded her arms, while Mirajane saw Genki's wound had stopped bleeding.
"Attacking for recruits? Yes, I can see why that's hard to believe."
"So they lied." Mirajane interjected. "It isn't the first time someone evil has lied, and wont be the last either. Though it does make me wonder what could have been all the way out here? It seems pretty wild to me. Could potential people for them, be here?"
"Perhaps they did want something, but we stopped them. Regardless, they'll be sent for interrogation now."
Erza added, with Genki agreeing with a nod of his head.
"Yeah, they can be dealt with by the proper authorities. I'd still like to know what they were doing here, but the most important thing is that they've been stopped for the time being. Anyway, I think we did good work."
Erza couldn't help but agree.
"People seem to be grateful, I'm just glad that they're out of the way for the time being. So, now that we're here, we should find a place to rest for the night."
Genki goes to nod his head, when a number of people come over to thank them for what they did.
Acting kindly, all three of them said "Its okay~" in their various ways, that's when Genki saw the same blonde haired girl as before coming towards him.
Mirajane also noticed, and watched with slightly narrowed brows, upon seeing the girls red face.
The girl stops short of Genki, and bows her head kindly.
"Thank you, for saving us. That black flamed boy was truly terrible. But, you came in, like a knight in shining armour."
Mirajane noticed the girl getting quite close to Genki.
"I am glad that you and your family are okay."
"Thanks to you, we are. We will be okay now."
Genki was relieved to hear her say that.
That's when she pushed herself even closer, and bent ever so slightly forward.
"My names Jenny Realight, here's a thank you present from me, to the handsome boy that saved me from the monsters."
Jenny leaned forward, and kissed Genki on the cheek, drawing ire from Mirajane, who tightened her hand, while Erza looked equally dazed by such a thing.
Genki himself began lightly blushing as Jenny pulled back, glancing at Mirajane who in turn looked right back towards her, her brows narrowing more and more with each passing second.
"Oh, I am sorry, are you his girlfriend?"
"...No."
Mirajane whispered, Erza thought that Mirajane might have wanted to say something else, but didn't voice her thoughts.
Jenny clapped her hands together in a cute manner.
"I see, so this cute boy is single?"
Mirajane breathed through her nose, while Genki looked between them, sensing tension in the air.
"...He is...He is..."
She couldn't finish her words, so Erza did instead.
"It is fine, this boy is going to have many females gather towards him."
Erza interrupted, with Mirajane rapidly turning towards her with a wide hung open mouth.
"Why are you saying that to her!?"
"Romance advisor, remember Mirajane?"
Mirajane seething eyes went right for Erza, while Jenny turned back to Genki.
"So, what's your name?"
"Genki."
"Genki-kun...I will remember that. Hopefully, I will see you sometime cutie~"
Jenny playfully winked at Genki, who in turn kindly smiled, while the young blonde ran off back to her family.
Mirajane looked back towards Genki, who noticed she was staring towards him.
"Is something wrong?"
"...No, I just have to remain vigilant, that's all."
Genki gave her a quizzing look, while Erza nods slowly.
"Either way, lets get going to get a hotel, no point leaving for the time being. We can leave tomorrow, once we have had a chance to replenish ourselves."
Genki nods, and together with the rest of them, goes towards a hotel for the evening.
Arriving at a hotel, they managed to get a room, where Genki and the others discussed what was going to happen next.
Sitting on one single bed, the trio formed a circle, and each looked towards the other in wonder.
"Alright, so we can rest here for the night, and get going tomorrow. I think that would be the best thing to do. We can have the entire day to explore, and then possibly make it back here if nothing happens...yes, according to the map, I think that would be a doable journey."
Genki expressed, with Erza nodding.
"Leaving now would be pointless as you said, since it is also heading closer to dark than I would like. Besides, we can have a good meal here, and get some rest for the big move tomorrow."
Mirajane shrugged her shoulders.
"That's fine with me, but Genki. Tell me. Find anything weird out during your travels? You seem to have that thinking face on."
Genki nods a single time.
"That boy again. The cloaked one. I saw him."
Genki suddenly said something that made Mirajane surprised.
"Not again, that little...he must be following us!"
Erza not aware of what was going on, raised her question.
"Perhaps because I am new, but what do you mean by someone following you? Is it an enemy? Who is this cloaked boy?"
Genki shrugged.
"I couldn't say, honestly. We have met a few times, and it seems to be that conclusion wise, he must be following us. Unless there is another reason that I do not know of. Yet, I never sense malice, and I saw that he was trying to protect people. Even Virgo-chan said that after we parted ways, he went onto help people escape. She saw him, as she took Jenny-san and her family to a safe place."
Mirajane flung her head back in frustration.
"This makes no sense. This guy follows us, and stays away from us at the same time, so naturally we would be suspicious. But now...he is actually trying to help us out? Or at least help other people? It makes little sense to me."
Genki had to agree with that, it also made little sense to him as well.
Erza then injected her thoughts.
"Neither of you know the identity of this person?"
"No, weirder still is that Genki says he saw him leave a magic book shop, when he possesses no magic inside of him. Or at least he is highly skilled at hiding his magic. But if he was hiding it...why?"
Erza rubbed her chin in thought.
"I understand, that is a bit disconcerting. He clearly must be after something. But with no magical energy, or he is extremely adept at hiding his magical presence. I am struggling to understand a few things about this individual, and what they would want. The best thing to do for now is to keep our guard up. If he becomes an enemy, if he becomes an ally, who knows right now. But, we should treat this as if this is the enemy, so we can prepare for the worst, if it comes down to that."
Genki agreed, nodding his head a single time.
"I don't wish to think that...but right now, we have nothing else to go off of due to the fact that he never really speaks to us and only does so when little choice is given to appear less suspicious, so I think you are right Erza-san. Until proven otherwise, we have to believe this is a person that could be against us, and hope that our thoughts are wrong, and he is on our side. But if he isn't, then we are prepared."
They all agreed on that for now, and continued to discuss what they would be doing next, while having something to eat together.
The young ghost girl had been searching for a good long time, but now she had returned back to the place that she could call home.
Back to Fairy Tail.
She thought that maybe Genki would have come here, and that they would be able to reunite with one another after a good long while.
So when she went to go and meet Makarov himself, he was stunned to see the girl flying towards him.
"First Master Mavis!"
"Makarov...have you seen a young boy come through here? Or if he is here?"
Makarov raised an eyebrow.
"What kind of boy?"
"Erm...blonde, sweet natured, and answers to the name Genki. Seen him?"
Makarov showed a sheepish expression on his face.
The ghost Mavis looked on curiously.
"You have seen him, right?"
"...Well, I have..."
Mavis became excited, clapping her hands together again and again.
"Really! Thank God that you have! Yes, so he is still here?"
Makarov continued to look sheepish, not sure what to say now.
"He was...but, he isn't here anymore."
Like that, Mavis looked devastated.
"W-What? He is gone!?"
"Y-Yes! But, he is coming back! He said so himself!"
"When is he coming back?"
Makarov looked unsure, something Mavis didn't really want to see.
"He didn't say, but I am sure that he will be back soon! They have been gone...perhaps a week now."
"A week!? Ooh no, Genki-kun! Please be okay!"
Makarov was surprised to see Mavis being rather alarmed all of a sudden about what was going on.
As that was going on, an elderly man within a darkened room, who had annoyance in his eyes, while he sat on a rather elegant looking chair, watched what had transpired.
"Zancrow...he failed me...he lost to the boy..."
The old man watched three different individuals, like a recording.
Seeing Mirajane.
Seeing Erza.
Lastly, seeing Genki.
Watching all three of them use incredible power for their ages, and taking down those within the city.
He had to admit that he was surprised to see such strength within children.
Yet, it was rather inspirational in a way to the old man.
To the point that he was happy to see such strength, yet also parts of him felt angered at the same time.
His lone eye focused upon Genki, and he stared at the image with a small growing smirk on his face.

So, this chapter had Genki, Erza and Mirajane travelling around together, becoming closer, and even managing to help some people out, one of them turning out to be Jenny, and it seems that she has taken a little bit of a shine towards Genki for saving her, and her family.
They also came across Zancrow who had a fight with Genki, and Mavis made an appearance...at Fairy Tail, a little late since Genki and the others left, but at least she has an idea where Genki is. And at the very end, it seems a certain old man is up to something, which we shall see very soon.
