A Song of Lightning and Fire

Arc I: Hogwarts

Part III: The Prisoner of Ankaban

The Results of the Prisoner of Azkaban breaking into Hogwarts became clear to everyone three days after the incident, when the Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge himself, came into the Great Hall during breakfast with three Aurors, who stood at the Doors to the Great Hall. Fudge didn't stop, though. He just kept walking toward the Staff Table.

All the chatter stopped in the Great Hall, and under any other circumstance, Harry would have burst out laughing, but he could not bring himself to do so now. He knew why the Minister was here, and if this was anything like last time, then Dumbledore was getting fired.

"Cornelius?" Dumbledore asked, ignoring the whispers and low murmurs that had started a few moments after the Minister's arrival.

"Dumbledore," Fudge said.

"What is the matter?" Dumbledore asked. "Shall we take this to my Office?"

"No," Fudge said. "This will be quick, this is an order to have the Dementors search the Grounds," he handed Dumbledore a scroll that he withdrew from the inside his robes.

The whispers had increased, both in intensity and volume. Devon, Jessica, Ron, and Hermione were all quietly muttering among themselves until Harry shot Silencing Charms at everyone near him who were talking. He did make sure to take the Charms off quickly, though.

"I cannot allow this," Dumbledore said after reading it through. Dumbledore's voice had a calm tone to it, even though Harry detected an underlying tone of barely suppressed anger. "This is… preposterous. Having them inside the castle!? Cornelius have you finally lost your mind?"

Several gasps were heard throughout the Hall, from both the teachers and the students. From the expression on Dumbledore's face, he probably hadn't meant to blurt it out like that.

"Do not insult me Dumbledore," Fudge growled, obviously not caring for where they were. "I have listened to your platitudes and assurances, yet nothing seems to be done! I assure you, if that wretched Prisoner is hiding in Hogwarts, he will be found!"

"I will not allow your Dementors to search the School," Dumbledore said, standing up.

"I do not care!" Fudge cried. "I have been facing a lot of pressure, Ministry Officials and Board Governor's are breathing down my neck to pass a new law. No more."

"You wish to search the Grounds?" Dumbledore asked in a threatening whisper, taking walking forward. It wouldn't have been audible to anyone else, but Harry and Ginny were seated at the table that was closest to the Staff Table. "Be my guest. But if even one of them decides to besmirch the doorstep of this Castle," Dumbledore was almost face to face with Fudge now. "I warn you now, I will destroy it. And if any one of them so much as lays a finger on any one of my students, I will personally hunt down and destroy Every. Last. One of them. And don't think for a second that I do not know how."

Harry frowned. Destroying a Dementor wasn't possible according to the Book he and Ginny had read, but if anyone could do it, Harry reckoned it would be Dumbledore

Fudge had gone deathly pale now, and it was blindingly obvious that he was losing the argument. "I'm the Minister for Magic!" He finally exclaimed. "You cannot threaten me like this! Arrest him!"

"Hardly, I think," Dumbledore said. "I never once threatened you. I just said I would destroy the Dementors."

Harry was watching the spectacle in something akin to awe. It was no secret that he looked up to Dumbledore. Surely, everyone in the School knew it by now, but this had nothing to do with his hero-worship of the man.

"This has gone on long enough," Dumbledore said. "We either meet in my Office to discuss this further, or we do not meet at all and you either send your Dementors in the castle- in which case, you will not be getting them back- or you keep them Restricted to the Boundaries. Your choice."

Fudge had been backed into a corner. Everyone knew it. Everyone saw it. But they were all still eagerly watching to see how this would play out. Harry just hoped Dumbledore wouldn't get himself fired again.

Fudge gulped and hung his head in defeat. "Let's talk somewhere else," he muttered, turning and walking away, Dumbledore following his lead.

The Silence in the Great Hall lasted exactly five seconds- yes Harry timed it- before whispers broke out. Whispers turned to murmurs, and soon the only thing that could be heard in the Great Hall was noise.

Harry saw that Professor McGonagall had her Wand pointed to her throat. "Silence!" She shrieked, causing most students to flinch.

"Thank you," she said, once the noise had quieted down. "I am making this announcement to ask you all to put this… incident," Harry noticed her roll her eyes in annoyance, "behind yourselves. Classes will proceed as scheduled, and on behalf of the Headmaster, I apologize for the unpleasant events you had to witness."

With that she left the podium and went back to her seat. The Noise in the Great Hall did resume, but it was at a much more manageable level than before.

"Ho-" Ginny began.

"-ly," Harry continued.

"Shit," they finished.

Hermione shook her head in disapproval of their language but the rest didn't object, they were still too busy processing what they'd just witnessed.

"Doesn't seem like Dumbledore to lash out like this, does it?" Ginny asked.

"No," Harry said. "But it's still understandable, isn't it? I mean, think of letting those… things loose in a School."

"Yeah, I'd rather not imagine that, thanks," Ginny replied. "Good thing Dumbledore's on our side, right?"

"Yeah," Harry replied, resuming his breakfast.

"What?" Hermione asked. "You're just going to resume eating like nothing happened?"

"Yep," Harry replied after swallowing.

"We've seen weirder stuff," Ginny replied. "We're used to it."

There was nothing she could say to that, so they quickly finished their Breakfast and headed to Herbology and History of Magic for Harry and Ginny respectively, hoping that Dumbledore would be able to keep the Dementors out of the Castle.

Harry left his room slightly later than he normally would on a Christmas Morning, making sure to grab all his Presents and the gifts that he was planning to give along with him as he left his room.

He walked up to the Room of Requirement, where he knew Ginny would be waiting or arriving, depending on when she woke up.

Harry stared at the Portrait and asked for it to show him the Room where Ginny was. The Door immediately materialized and Harry opened it, stepping into their 'Den'.

He spotted her near one of the Tables, wearing a Light Green Weasley Jumper and a pair of black pants that he suspected had Warming Charms on them.

She was standing up, her hand outstretched and her face scrunched up in an expression of utmost concentration as she focused on the stuffed Teddy Bear in front of her. Harry didn't close the door fully, choosing to leave it ajar so as to not ruin her moment of concentration.

Suddenly, before Harry could even blink, the Bear shot off toward her outstretched hand. Ginny easily caught it and raised her fist, letting out an ecstatic whoop.

Harry, who was smiling at the scene, burst out laughing when she started doing an absurd victory dance.

She immediately stopped and turned to him, face flushed, mouth open, and eyes wide. "How long…?" She asked faintly.

He closed the door softly before answering. "Just before you summoned the Bear. Congratulations by the way. It's a big achievement."

"Thanks," she replied, blushing even brighter.

"Was this the First time you did it?" He asked.

She nodded. "Yeah, it was. You weren't supposed to be here for the celebration, though," she added, mock-glaring at him.

"And miss you looking so festive when you blush?" Harry asked, sitting down on one of the couches. "Yeah, not happening."

She blushed again, causing him to burst out laughing. She turned away from him and huffed. "See if you get your gift now," she said.

"Oh, really?" He asked.

She nodded. "Uh huh," she replied. "You're not getting anything."

"Alright then," Harry said, smirking. "You're not getting any of mine either."

"Fine," she replied, turning to him and sticking her tongue out. They stared at each other for a while, and Harry felt like he could just get lost in those brown eyes of hers. How were they so beautiful…?

She cut off his train of thoughts by poking him in the side. "Oi!" He cried through a chuckle, batting her hand away. "I thought you weren't talking to me."

"Circumstances change, Potter," she replied, moving to sit near him and tickling him mercilessly. He was able to retaliate, though, and they started rolling on the ground, tickling each other as best as they could through their laughter.

A few minutes later they were both panting and lying next to each other, both of them completely spent. Harry offered her a hand to shake. "Truce?" He asked.

"Truce," she replied, shaking his hand. "Good lord, do you have to be so stubborn? Can't you accept defeat at the hands of little old me for once?" She asked, grinning.

He grinned back. "Potters don't lose, Gin. I thought you knew that."

"Who said that?" Ginny asked, furrowing her brow.

"I did," Harry replied, laughing. "Just now.".

She got the joke instantly, remembering the words she'd said last year. "Oh, Merlin," she said, through a laugh of her own. "I thought you'd forgotten about that."

"See?" He asked. "I did say something… how was it you put it? Oh, yeah, 'worthy of being quoted'," he drew little quotation marks using his fingers around the phrase.

She covered her face in embarrassment. "Sorry?" She asked, not sure if he wanted an apology, which he did not.

He waved it off. "I know you were messing around. It's who you are, and I like to think I know you well enough."

"You might know me better than most actually," she muttered. Harry thought she said it to herself, but her voice carried over due to the Room of Requirement.

"Let's open our presents," Harry said, wanting to cheer her up.

It seemed to work, Ginny gave him a small smile and nudged her Trunk with her foot, while Harry did the same with his.

"I think Mum sent your gifts directly to you this time," Ginny said, relieving a nod from him.

The Twins and Ron had left Hogwarts to go to the Burrow since their friends had also left. But Ginny was adamant that she wanted to stay, something about her having loads of homework to do, which Harry knew was a lie.

"She did," Harry replied, having already received said gifts. There were also a few others in his pile that Harry had found curious.

"Well, open it," she replied. "I want to see which one you got."

He complied and saw that it was a Dark Green and Silver Jumper, showcasing his Slytherin colors. The Snitch was also made with the Silver color, and it looked nice with the rest of the Jumper.

He quickly put it on and opened up a box of Chocolate Frogs from Ron, a pair of flip flops that randomly growled from the Twins, and a Wand Cleaning Kit from Percy, which he had sent to Ginny as well.

"Here you go," Ginny said, handing him her gift. He reached into his trunk and pulled out the wrapped model of the Phoenix he'd purchased in Egypt.

"And here's yours," he said, giving her the gift.

They looked at each other, both wanting the other to open theirs first before Harry decided to go ahead and open the gift he'd gotten from her.

She had gifted him a wooden model of a Thunderbird. It wasn't Enchanted to move, nor was it painted, but the details on it were so beautiful that it didn't need the paint, or the Enchantments.

"This is great!" Harry exclaimed. "Thanks," he added, feeling that his own gift was rather inadequate now.

Ginny smiled and opened his gift, gasping when she saw it flap its wings and let out a musical note. "This was from Egypt, right?" She asked, smiling.

"Yeah," he replied. "Do you... er, is it-"

"I love it," she said, giving him a quick hug.

There was one more package in his pile of presents. It was a long thin package with no note attached to it. The package looked like it would contain a broom, but Harry wasn't so sure about it. Besides, who knew if it was even safe…

"Who sent this?" Harry asked.

"I don't know," Ginny replied. "It's not from me, and any other Weasley would have left a note, right?"

"Yeah," Harry replied. "Maybe it's from Professor Lupin?"

"Hm… maybe," Ginny replied. "It looks like a Broom, though. He knows you're not on the Slytherin team, and the Brooms here are good enough for a quick fly."

"Yeah," Harry replied, more confused than he was before. He decided to shrug it off and open the package.

As he and Ginny had predicted, it was a Broomstick. A long Black handle ran along the length of it, and it had grey twigs at the back. He picked up the broom and gasped, almost dropping the thing.

It was a Nimbus 2004.

The fastest broom on the Market, perfect for a Seeker or a Chaser, depending on how, or if, you modified it. It was a Broom used on the Professional level, and Harry had dreamt many dreams where he was the one holding and riding the Broom. It was also the saving grace of the Nimbus Broom Company after the failure of the Nimbus 2001.

"Oh. My. God," he said. Ginny was still in too much of a shocked state to say or do anything. "Who would send me this!?"

Ginny bit her lip slightly and Harry waited for her to speak. She finally did, after a short while. "Maybe it's by the Prisoner?" She asked.

Harry's mouth fell open. "Why do you think he would send me a Nimbus 2004 just to kill me?" He countered. "There are a thousand different ways to do that without spending money on it. And besides, we fought him didn't we? He could have easily killed me then."

"Yeah, but still," Ginny said. "It doesn't hurt to have it checked out, right?"

He didn't want to have it checked out. He really didn't. But something at the back of his mind had been urging him to do something like that from the moment he'd received the Broom.

"Alright," he said, grudgingly.

"Thank you," Ginny said.

Harry just gave her a small smile. "Let's go to Hagrid's," he said, standing up and offering her a hand. "I'll give this to Hooch on the way down."

"Sure," Ginny said, taking his hand and standing up. "We can go to Aries and Artemis, too."

"Sound like a plan," Harry said, grinning.

"No, Aries, give it back!" Ginny cried.

Harry and Artemis turned to her, Harry's hand still hovering in front of her mouth, a fish in his grip. Artemis looked at it and quickly grabbed it from his hand.

Aries on the other hand refused to eat fish, despite it being good for a growing Dragon's immune system. Harry and Hagrid had tried feeding him with absolutely no success.

Apparently Ginny wasn't having too much luck either. Harry and Artemis walked forward and saw that Aries had stolen Ginny's handkerchief and she was trying to get it back while Aries just kept pulling it back at the last second.

Artemis snorted and Harry laughed, causing Ginny to whirl around and glare at them both. The effect was ruined when she sneezed. She had caught another cold last night, and she was sneezing because of it ever since they stepped out of the Castle.

"Are you going to help me or not?" She asked.

"What do you think we should do?" Harry stage-whispered to Artemis, who made an expression of deep thought.

"Oh, for the love of-" Ginny was interrupted by the need to sneeze again.

"You shouldn't say bad words, Gin," Harry said. "This is what happens when you do."

"Oh, screw you," Ginny said. "I'll get it myself."

Ginny jumped on top of a rock and leapt toward Aries. But he was fast and quickly backed away. Ginny fell on the ground and Aries dangled the handkerchief in front of her tauntingly.

"What happened here anyway?" Harry asked, trying not to laugh.

"He wouldn't eat the Fish," Ginny said, standing up and narrowing her eyes at the Dragon. "So he stole my handkerchief to make me stop feeding him."

Harry tried- he really did- but the situation was just too hilarious not too burst out laughing. Ginny huffed and turned to Artemis. "Help me, would you?" She asked, eyes pleading.

Artemis growled something to Aries, who purred back, shaking his head. Artemis let out an apologetic purr to Ginny.

Ginny sighed. "It's okay," she said. "It's better than what he's doing anyway," she added, glaring at Harry who had just gotten his laughter under control.

"Hey, now," he said. "There's no need for that. I never said I wouldn't help."

"No," Ginny said, she sneezing again. "You were too busy laughing to say anything."

"Okay, okay," he replied. "Sorry."

Harry stepped forward next to her and raised a hand to Aries. Aries looked at him and lowered his head toward Harry's outstretched hand. Harry began petting him, and scratching his snout, and Ginny went to get her handkerchief back.

Aries saw her coming though, and quickly backed away, but this time he jumped in the air and flapped his wings hard, Flying away and settling on the sides of the rather large crater they were in. He gave them a playful growl as Ginny yelled in frustration.

"You know I can't get up there, Aries," she cried. "Get down, now!" She emphasized her point by placing her hands on her hips.

Aries actually looked worried for a second there, and Harry couldn't blame him. She was scary sometimes. Unfortunately for her, the moment was broken when she sneezed again, causing Aries to climb higher.

"He's a bloody menace," Harry said, shaking his head at the Dragon.

"He takes after you, then," Ginny said, turning to him with a smile.

Harry laughed. "Guess he does," he replied. "Should I summon it with Wandless Magic?"

"It won't tear or anything, will it?" Ginny asked.

"Nope," Harry said. "Well, it might, depending on how fast you pull it. You know what? Why don't you try it?"

"Me?" She replied slowly. "I just learned Wandless Summoning a few hours ago."

"And what better way to test it than against a Dragon?" Harry countered.

"You're mad," Ginny said, shaking her head.

Harry sighed. "You can have my handkerchief if yours tears."

"Harry," she said in a flat tone.

"What?" He asked curiously.

"Do you even have a handkerchief?" Ginny asked.

"Er…" Harry said. Now that she said it, he wasn't so sure that he did. "I might have one in my Trunk somewhere."

Ginny scoffed. "You know what? Screw it."

She held her hand out toward Aries, who was watching their byplay with interest. Harry saw her scrunch up her face in concentration, and sure enough, the handkerchief flew out Aries' claws and into Ginny's outstretched hand.

Harry started clapping for her and she bowed to him, prompting Artemis to mirror Harry's movements and start clapping herself. It took her a short while, but she got the hang of it quickly.

Meanwhile Aries climbed downward and came face to face with Ginny, letting out a purr of curiosity.

"It's called Wandless Magic," Ginny explained as Artemis and Harry joined the discussion. "Basically, it's exactly what it sounds like, Magic without a Wand. Harry can do it a lot better than I can, though."

Aries looked at Harry, and nudged Ginny's hand with his snout, and then pointed to himself, letting out a growl in question.

"No, I can't teach you," Harry replied, feeling bad as Aries' face fell, he noticed Artemis looked a little disappointed, too. "It's not because I don't want to, it's just that I don't think Dragons can do the same type of Magic that Humans can."

That seemed to make them feel slightly better, especially considering Aries nodded and licked Ginny's face, causing to let out a squeak in surprise.

"Oh," she said when Aries laid his head down near her feet, an eye peering up at her. She pet Aries near the golden frills on his neck, occasionally scratching the skin between his spines gently, causing him to purr in satisfaction.

Artemis decided to demand the same from Harry, and he obliged. It was easier not to hurt Artemis though, her white frills had already grown to the maximum possible size they could for her age, and her spines were harder than Aries'

"Will you eat some fish now?" Ginny asked. Aries just looked at her for a moment before hesitantly nodding.

Ginny smiled at him and went to get the bucket in which she'd kept his portion. Harry smiled as Aries opened his mouth and accepted the fish, making a face when he finished chewing it.

Aries swallowed it with some difficulty before shaking his head and stepping forward and hovering his head over the bucket, He let out a short burst of fire into it, and dipped his head into the bucket, coming back up with a mouthful of fish which he happily started to eat.

Harry and Ginny burst out laughing as Artemis repeated the same process with her own bucket. "You're right," Harry said. "He really is like me."

Ginny just laughed harder and shook her head at him. They stayed there and watched them eat a little longer before Artemis left to go into her cave.

Harry and Ginny frowned after her in confusion, it wasn't her nap time, and she wasn't sick, they would know if she was.

Their confusion was short lived because she came back with a Magically enlarged Frisbee and demanded a game of catch. Aries added his own agreement to the idea with a few enthusiastic growls. Harry and Ginny, of course, wouldn't say no to the game

That was the scene Hagrid walked in on. Two empty buckets of fish, and two children and two Dragons playing a game of catch together, all of them covered from head to toe- or in the Dragons' case, from head to tail- in snow

"Hagrid!" Harry greeted when he saw the man. "Merry Christmas!" He added, rushing forward to meet him, Ginny and the Dragons hot on his heels.

"Merry Christmas!" Hagrid greeted them back. "Got these for you," he added, pulling out two large boxes of Muggle chocolates.

"Thanks!" Harry and Ginny said, taking out their trunks and storing the boxes in them.

Harry pulled out the model of the Siberian Shadow that he'd purchased back in England and gave it to Hagrid before Ginny gave him her gift, a paining of Hagrid riding a Dragon.

Needless to say, Hagrid was ecstatic.

"How'd you get them to eat the fish?" Hagrid asked after he released them from a tearful hug that would rival Molly Weasley's hugs in intensity.

"Oh, nothing much," Harry said.

"Just a stolen handkerchief," Ginny replied casually.

"And some fire," Harry added in the same tone.

Hagrid didn't seem like he got the meaning, but he smiled at them anyway. "Well, come along then, Lunch will start soon. I know you two must be hungry."

Now that Hagrid mentioned it, Harry could feel his stomach rumbling lowly in response. The others either didn't hear it or were feeling generous enough to choose not to mention it.

"Bye guys!" Ginny called waving at the Dragons.

"See ya!" Harry added, giving them a wave of his own.

Aries and Artemis weren't so keen on letting them go, if the licks and constant nuzzles were any indication, but after a promise of meeting again today, Harry and Ginny were able to get to the Great Hall without the Dragons following them.

The rest of December and the month of January passed away relatively quickly, and so did the wait for the Hogwarts Quidditch Championship.

The First Match was today, between Hufflepuff and Slytherin, and Harry was somewhat worried about his House. Yes, he was supporting Slytherin, he always had, but not for House Pride, it was more due to the fact that Devon was playing on the Team.

Ginny supported Gryffindor, obviously, but only in the matches it was playing in. All the other times, she wore a Slytherin Green scarf, much to the eternal confusion of her roommates.

Harry was waiting for Ginny to arrive in the Entrance Hall, and Jessica had already gone ahead to the Quidditch Pitch to save them all some seats.

Ginny came down fifteen minutes before the match started, dressed in black trousers and a white top with a green scarf around her neck. "Good morning," they greeted each other with a smile.

"Are you ready?" Ginny asked.

"Of course," Harry replied, starting the walk toward the Quidditch Pitch.

"Good weather," Ginny said, looking at the sky.

"Yeah," Harry replied. "Should make it easier for Payne to see the Snitch."

Daniel Payne was the Slytherin Seeker, a Seventh Year who had been on the team for four years, longer than Harry had been at Hogwarts.

"I just hope Diggory doesn't get it," Ginny muttered, causing Harry to turn to her in surprise. "What?" She asked.

"Nothing," he said. "It's just… I never thought you didn't like him."

That wasn't the whole truth and they both knew it. Cedric Diggory was a very handsome Sixth Year, and every girl in the School had a crush on him, at least at some point. Harry had assumed Ginny did too.

"I don't dislike him," Ginny said. "It's just… well, he's the reason Gryffindor loses the most games!" She cried, throwing her hands up in frustration.

"That's why you don't like him?" Harry asked incredulously.

"I never said I don't like him," Ginny said, rolling her eyes. "I'm just saying… argh, it's hard to explain. Oh, and if you're wondering if I'm one of those girls that has a crush on him, I don't."

He didn't know why, but hearing that declaration made him feel as though a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.

They reached the Quidditch Pitch and made a beeline for Jessica, who was sitting near the end of the row with two empty seats to her left.

Harry sat next to Jessica and Ginny chose the one next to him. "Good morning," Jessica said to Ginny who wished her back.

"Excited?" Ginny asked.

"Yep," Jessica said. "The Slytherin team is strong this year," she added, and it was true. The new captain, Percival Carrow, had completely reorganized the whole team, holding a new try-out and everything. Of course, Devon was good enough that he overlooked him being a Muggleborn.

The players started coming onto the Stadium and Harry, Ginny, and Jessica cheered when they saw Devon come out with the Slytherins.

The Slytherins waved at the crowed once, before the Hufflepuffs came out. The entire Stadium started cheering, they even managed to start a chant for Cedric Diggory.

"Welcome, Ladies and Gentlemen!" Lee Jordan said over the microphone. "This is your usual commentator Lee Jordan joined this time by none other than Professor McGonagall herself. For those that don't know her, this beautiful Witch next to me-"

"Jordan," they heard McGonagall's tired voice mutter into the microphone, making everyone in the Stadium burst out laughing.

"Right, sorry," Lee said. "We are here for the commencement of the Quidditch Season for the Accademic Year, 1992-1993. The First Match this year is Hufflepuff against Slytherin and the teams are looking strong."

"On the Hufflepuff side," Lee continued. "We've got the Captain and Seeker, Cedric Diggory, the Chasers, Susan Bones, Hannah Abbot, and Ernie MacMillan, the Beaters Zachariahs Smith, and Denver Smith, and Lastly the Keeper, Megan Jones!"

"On the Slytherin side," Lee added. "We've got the Seeker, Daniel Payne, the Captain and Chaser, Percival Carrow, the other two Chasers, Devon Lennox, and Astoria Greengrass, the Beaters, Vincent Crabbe, and Gregory Goyle, and lastly, the Keeper, Milicent Bullstrode!"

The Match started soon after the Captains shook hands, and the Snitch was released into the air, all the players shooting after it.

Twenty minutes later, the score was a Thirty to Twenty, in Hufflepuff's favor. It was then that Harry heard a familiar faint screaming noise, along with a cold feeling welling up inside him, inside his very blood.

With a start Harry recognized the effects thay the Dementors always seemed to have on him. He turned to Ginny, eyes wide and filled with panic, but she wasn't looking at him. She was looking at something over his shoulder.

He turned his head around and followed her gaze, a feeling of dread settling into his stomach when he caught sight of what she saw.

There were a good two dozen Dementors headed toward the Quidditch Pitch, gliding over the stands.

The crowd started screaming their heads off, getting off their seats and running toward the nearest exit that they could find. Many of them, however, weren't able to reach the exits in time, or stumbled down the stands.

A Dementor started getting too close to them, and Harry stepped back, raising his Wand and thinking of all the fun he'd had on Christmas this year, remembering how happy he was, and how alive he'd felt… Expecto Patronum.

The Patronus Lessons with Professor Lupin had been going well. Both Harry and Ginny had had a good success with the Charm, and Professor Lupin said that they were very close to getting a Corporeal form. But all of this wasn't in the presence of a real Dementor, so understandably, he was nervous.

As it turned out, Harry didn't need to worry. A huge cloud of Silver Mist came out of his Wand. Harry couldn't be sure, but he thought he saw antlers in it.

The Dementor stopped dead in its tracks in surprise. But it wasn't over, another Dementor managed to get up on their level, to Harry's left, and there was no way he would be able to cast another Patronus Charm in time.

Just as he was calling up his Magic for an attempt to blast the creature with a jet of fire, he saw another huge cloud of silvery Mist, and knew that Ginny had been able to find her memory.

He mentally thanked Professor Lupin for the Patronus Lessons, he had no doubts that Harry and Ginny would have been long dead had he refused to teach them.

Harry couldn't help but recoil in disgust as he saw a Dementor come near one of the Audience members in the rows across from him and grabbed a hold of them.

Fortunately, the Dementor wasn't able to do much else because a Silvery-Blue Phoenix struck the Dementor at a great speed, causing the creature to let out an inhuman shriek and slowly disintegrate into ashes, the shrieks of its pain echoing around the stadium, and the remnants of its torn Cloak floating away into the air. This new development made everyone- Human and Dementor- pause whatever it was that they were doing.

Well, everyone except one.

Albus Dumbledore vaulted over the Teachers' box, landing on his feet on one of the stands, and Harry and Ginny watched in awe as he unleashed Patronus after Patronus at frightening speeds.

What was more surprising was that Every single Patronus went and collided with a Dementor, producing the same results as it did the First time.

The remaining Dementors turned and fled, but Dumbledore didn't let up, he kept shooting Patronus after Patronus at them, and Harry saw that there were a lot more Dementors than what he previously assumed there were.

Slowly but surely, every single Dementor that had dared to attack the Pitch was slaughtered, the pieces of their Cloaks being the only remnants they left behind.

Professor Dumbledore holstered his Wand and dropped to his knees, taking a deep breath and trying to get up before his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he passed out, falling sideways onto the floor.

A/N 2: Credit for the Dragon scene goes entirely to Gin110881. He was the one that suggested the idea for Harry and Ginny feeding the Dragons and one of them stealing Ginny's handkerchief.

As for the Dragons themselves, I always imagine them as the Dragons from Game of Thrones, specifically Drogon, but without the red colors. Of course, different breeds will be different in terms of appearance, but a Siberian Shadow is essentially Drogon without reds.

Does Dumbledore seem a little OOC? Yes, well, he's meant to. But I hope I've captured him well enough so that its not a turn off.

Leave a review if you enjoyed, amd I'll see y'all next Chapter.
