"Here we are guys." Ash said, as he lead them through the clearing. "Lavender Town, home of the Pokemon Tower."

"What's so special about a tower?" Wally asked.

"It's not the tower, but rather the Pokemon in it." Ash said. "It's one of the few natural habitats for ghost type Pokemon in all of Kanto."

"But that's not why we're here, is it?" Wally asked.

"Nope, we're here for the Battle Arena." Brendan said.

"Let's go to the Pokemon Center and look at the map." Ash said calmly. "I don't know these mountains well enough for us to go randomly searching for it."

At the Pokemon Center

"So Ash, where is it?" Brendan asked.

"Hold on, I'm still trying to figure that out." Ash said with an annoyed tone.

"Last time you found it in like five minutes, how hard can this be?" Brendan pled.

"It's mountains, this isn't exactly easy to navigate." Ash sighed. "Why don't you go find something to do? You're in a new region, explore and look around. Like Wally."

"Wait, where's Wally?" Brendan asked.

Elsewhere

"I feel like I took a wrong turn somewhere." Wally said, looking around.

"Perhaps I can help." An older man said.

"Zombie!" Wally exclaimed.

"Tombie? No, my names Fuji." The man said. "Mr. Fuji, I clean the graves here."

"Graves?" Wally asked, suddenly noticing the graveyard he was in the middle of. "Wait, when'd I enter a graveyard?"

"The entire tower is for the Pokemon that have passed, at least for now." Mr. Fuji said. "Unfortunately they will be remodeling the tower for a new radio tower, and moving the most recent graves to a standard graveyard."

"So do you work for the tower, or?" Wally asked in confusion.

"No, no." Mr. Fuji said. "I do this as my passion, isn't it why you do what you do?"

"I'm kind of missing a passion right now." Wally admitted. "But I don't think cleaning graves is what I want to do."

"Oh no, I wasn't offering you to, though you are more than welcome." Mr Fuji said, as he began cleaning a new grave. "You have to find what excites you in life, no matter what it is. For me it's seeing trainers come to visit their Pokemon and seeing their smiles knowing their graves were loved for."

"Wait, are the Pokemon actually buried here?" Wally asked.

"No, no. Well some of them. Some weren't able to be transported here but had a grave put up for them." Mr Fuji said.

"Would one that died in Johto be here?" Wally asked.

"It's possible, who did you lose?" Mr Fuji asked.

"My friend's Charizard." Wally admitted.

"Possibly, were they from here in Kanto?" Mr. Fuji questioned, standing up.

"I think so yeah. They died a few months back in the Silver Conference." Wally admitted.

"If that's the case, they are likely in the newer graveyard if they have one. Just go back out the tower and head south, you can't miss it." Mr. Fuji said.

"Thanks, I'll go check it out. And the graves look really nice once they're cleaned." Wally said with a smile.

After a bit of searching Wally did find a grace to a Charizard but it didn't say whose it was or when it died.

"Hey Ash's Charizard, maybe. I know you don't know me, and I really don't know much about you but I figured this was worth a shot. I'm trying to find my passion to be on this journey, and we'll you helped Ash with his first passion, and then led him to his new passion so this is just crazy." Wally sighed getting up.

"No it's not." Ash said.

"Ash!" Wally exclaimed a bit stunned.

"Relax. Charizard doesn't have a grave here though." Ash said. "But I've talked to him a few times, especially about my path."

"Has it helped?" Wally asked.

"In a way yes, but you need to remember that I'm talking to an old friend when I talk about Charizard." Ash said. "Sometimes I think about how he'd do in contests, and what kind of appeals I could pull off with him. And that reminds me of the fun we had, and the work I put in to getting him to work with me."

"Then who do I talk to figure out what I want to do? You and Brendan don't know, and I don't have something like Charizard." Wally whined.

"Gym Leaders, professors, your family, even your Pokémon." Ash said. "This journey is about finding out where you want to go, even if it takes a bit to get there."

"Thanks Ash, sorry if I worried you guys." Wally apologized.

"It's fine, now come on it's getting late and I still haven't found where we need to go." Ash said.

Elsewhere in Kanto

"Again." A man's voice demanded.

"Magcargo use Fire Blast!" Flannery called out.

"Stronger." The man demanded.

"Magcargo use Fire Blast!" Flannery shouted.

"Is this the best Hoenn has to offer! If you wish to be a fire type master you must master the element!" The man demanded.

"Magcargo use Fire Blast!" Flannery screamed.

The attack struck the rocky wall, breaking it apart as magma began flowing out of it.

"Very good my pupil." The man said. "You are on the right path."

"Thank you master." Flannery said with a bow.
