"Alright, one ribbon and two symbols down, now as soon as I figure out where the battle dome is we can head there." Ash said.

"Actually, I was hoping we could go to Saffron for a bit." Brendan said. "We bounced there and back so quick we didn't really get a chance to explore it, it was almost like we had the wrong information written down."

"I don't see why not, what were you hoping to see there?" Ash asked, putting away the map.

"Oh you know, train, catch some Pokemon, there's a fighting dojo with a prize." Brendan said.

"You want the prize, don't you?" Ash asked.

"Yes." Brendan said. "Is that bad?"

"No, I think it sounds fun." Ash said. "Let's go find Wally and… Wally is in a fight."

"Vibrava use Sand Tomb!"

Vibrava flew around its opponent, kicking up sand and throwing it at them from every direction.

"Wally what's going on?" Ash asked, covering his mouth from the sand.

"I have no idea! This Pokemon just started attacking people out of nowhere and I jumped in to stop it." Wally said.

"Any idea what it is?" Brendan asked.

"Yeah, I just pulled out my encyclopedia. OF COURSE NOT THAT'S WHAT YOU TWO HAVE!" Wally shouted.

"Sorry, dumb question." Brendan said. "Let's see what we're dealing with."

'Farfetch'd, The Wild Duck Pokemon, a Normal and Flying Type. It can't live without the stalk it holds. That's why it defends the stalk from attackers with its life.' Brendan's Pokedex said.

"Fetch!" The Farfetch'd cried out, leaping out of the sand tomb.

"Okay, ground attacks won't work. Vibrava use Bite!"

Vibrava flew up at the Farfetch'd, easily clamping it's jaws down on the wild Pokemon, before lowering the two to the ground.

"Hey guys, look." Ash said. "It doesn't have a stick."

"I think its a leek." Wally said.

"The Pokedex said stalk." Brendan pointed out.

"Point is, this Farfetch'd doesn't have one. Maybe that's why it's attacking?" Ash said.

"So what do we do? We don't exactly have one lying around." Wally said.

"We don't but Grovyle does." Brendan said.

"You really think Grovyle will give up his twig? Or that it will work?" Ash asked.

"Do you have a better idea?" Brendan asked.

"As a matter of fact, I do." Ash said.

At the Pokemon Center

"Of course Ash." Tracey said. "Let me see, I saw the map with that information just the other day, ah ha!"

"So are there any nearby Lavender Town?" Ash asked.

"You're in luck! If this map is correct, there should be a whole forest of them just a few hours south of town." Tracey said.

"So I have to hold him for a few hours!" Wally shrieked, holding a cage that the Farfetch'd was in.

"You were the one who decided to try and help." Brendan said. "Now come on, we have a treck to make."

A bit later

"I think that's the battle dome." Wally commented, as they walked past a large arena.

"Probably, but I need more training and you need to get that Farfetch'd a stalk." Brendan said.

"Stick." Ash commented.

"I'm still pretty sure it's a leek." Wally said, holding the cage at arms length as Farfetch'd thrashed about, breaking free of the cage, and falling into the water. "Farfetch'd!" Wally cried out, jumping after it, only for Farfetch'd to be just fine, paddling in the water.

"Come on Wally, stop messing around." Brendan joked, helping him back onto the boardwalk.

"Alright Farfetch'd, back in the cage." Wally said, only to be pecked at. "Hey! We're trying to help you!"

"Farfetch'd." The Farfetch'd said stubbornly.

"Seems like Farfetch'd would get along with Swablu." Ash joked.

"Yeah, well this isn't funny. I'm only trying to help you, you could be a bit nicer." Wally said angrily. "We don't have to go all this way to make sure you get a new leek."

"Far." The wild Farfetch'd said in confusion.

"Come on guys, he doesn't need us." Wally said angrily.

"Wally you don't mean that." Ash said.

"Yeah, if he doesn't want our help bringing him there, and he probably knows how to get there from here." Wally said.

"Wally." Brendan sighed.

"No, okay I know what it's like to feel helpless, but I also know when someone doesn't want anymore help, and he doesn't." Wally said. "Come on, let's get back to town so I can change into dry clothes."

Later that night at the Pokemon Center

'Tap tap tap'

"Ash, how many times have I told you, let Pikachu out before we go to sleep." Wally said, half asleep, opening the door.

'Tap tap tap'

Wally opened his eyes as he realized the tapping was behind him, illuminated by the night sky was the Farfetch'd holding a leek, and tapping the window.

Five minutes later

"What do you want? You got your leek!" Wally whispered.

"Fetch!" Farfetch'd exclaimed, pointing the leek at Wally.

"A fight, a rematch?" Wally asked.

"Far." Farfetch'd said, lifting the leek into the air.

"Come on, I don't have any Pokemon here. Ow, ow, ow." Wally said, as three Pokeballs hit him in the back of his head.

"Next time leave quieter." Ash said from the window. "And good luck."

"Thanks, I think." Wally said. "Alright, Vibrava it's rematch time!"

Farfetch'd flapped about in a circle, spinning it's leek around, ready to fight.

"Vibrava use Dragon Breath!"

The Farfetch'd flew up and out of the way of the attack, before swinging the leek at the dragon, slamming it back down.

"Okay, Vibrava stop it from flying with Bite!"

Vibrava flew forward, clamping it's jaw once more on Farfetch'd. The duck retaliated with grabbing it's leek as the tip turned purple and jabbing it into the side of Vibrava.

"Vibrava use Dragonbreath!" Wally called out.

With Farfetch'd still trapped a stream of blue flames shot out from Vibrava's mouth, engulfing the wild Pokemon.

"Now Pokeball, go!" Wally said.

'Ding ding ding'

"Welcome to the team Farfetch'd." Wally said. "You don't have to go in alone anymore."
