Round two and the Finals

Koharu, Dawn, and Zoey had managed to get to the battle round and first up of the friends were Koharu and Dawn.

"Piplup, Cyndaquil, spotlight!" Dawn called.

"Alright Ashly and Snivy, you're up!" Koharu called, releasing them while deciding to use her own entrance phrase, though she thought it could be better while Dawn sent out Piplup and Cyndaquil.

"I won't go easy on you just because you're my friend," Dawn called, though only Koharu, Ashley, and Zoey knew she was talking to both Koharu and Ashley and not just Koharu.

"I'm not holding back either," Koharu responded with a determined look in her eyes. "Now, let's get this battle started."

"Cyndaquil use flamethrower on Ashly and Piplup, use drill peck on Snivy while pulling the fire with you!" Dawn called out, knowing that she needed to start off strong after the finish last time.

"Alright Ashly, use Mat Block!" Koharu called, glad that as a Mew, Ashly knew every move, and even more glad that Ashley did so by making a matt with a bullseye that Piplup hit the center of. "Ok Snivy, now that the fire is out and Piplup is stopped, use Vine whip to grab him and throw him at Cyndaquil," with that Snivy wrapped her vines around Piplup and pulled him out of the matt which disappeared, and threw him at Cyndaquil adding a spin for stability.

"Set off your back flame when I say too." Dawn said. Waiting for the exact moment for Cyndaquil to strike. "Ok Cyndaqul! Do it now!" she called out across the battlefield.

At her mark, Cyndaquil flared her back flame the burst redirecting Piplup back.

"What is this, Tennis?" Koharu laughed, before getting an idea. "Actually, Ashly use electroweb to make a net, and sketch to make a border, Snivy use vine whip to send Piplup back over the net.

"What?" Dawn said confused before seeing Ashly make an electric net, and tennis lines on the field while Snivy used her vines to send Piplup back.

"Why me?" Piplup complained.

"What's wrong?" Koharu said tying to taunt her into going along. "Scared you'll lose?"

Luckily Dawn is competitive. "Not a chance! Cyndaquil get ready to flare!... now!"

Cyndaquil then flared to send Piplup back as this continued, with Snivy and Cyndaquil using different ways to hit Piplup back and forth while Ashly used string shot to make a referee outfit, complete with flags and a glass whistle she made out of sight of Dawn with a shaped sandstorm and flamethrower.

Eventually, however, Ashly blew the whistle at the same time as the buzzer went off, giving Koharu the win, as they remembered they were in a contest and since Dawn had been hitting her own Pokémon and Ashly had entertained while making her costume, Koharu won, much to Dawn's embarrassment at how she lost.

"Yes! We did it!" Koharu said in happiness, hugging Ashley and Snivy. "Thanks to you we were able to win the battle! Great job you two!" she smiled up at Ashly, who was sitting on top of her head.

"Good job," Dawn said, congratulating them. "That was a pretty cool move you did back there. It took us by surprise."

"Will the coordinators please clear the field for the next contestant?" they called, causing them to head off the field with Ashley, Snivy, Piplup, and Cyndaquil being returned to their pokeballs.
