He took a deep breath and mustered all the courage he could and saluted. "EUGEO IS NOT A THREAT, IN FACT I DON'T NEED TO GIVE YOU A REASON. YOU ALL SAW EUGEO IN TITAN FORM ENGAGING THE OTHER TITANS NOT ONCE DID HE HARM A SOLDIER…" some of the garrison soldiers lowered their weapons as several of them thought he made sense. Kazuto recalled a boulder and came up with an idea"...IT MIGHT EVEN BE POSSIBLE TO RECLAIM THE DISTRICT UTILIZING EUGEO'S NEWFOUND ABILITIE-"

"NO, ONCE A TITAN ALWAYS A TITAN!" he started to lower his arm but was stopped.

"Can't you see this soldier is miraculously pleading?" a man in a trench coat with the scouts logo embedded on his coat, stopped his arm. Tsuboi could be seen catching up to him from behind.

"Kayaba!" Godfree was startled.

"Why are you pointing weapons at my soldiers?"

"They aren't soldiers, they are with the enemy."

"Oh?"

"It's tr-"

"Shut up please, Kazuto, is this true?"

"Well..It's complicated.."

"Complicated how?" Kayaba was even more confused "As the captain says you are with the enemy, are you?"

"No, Commander!"

"That's all I needed to hear." he let go of Godfree's hand.

"WHAT?" Godfree was angry "...you'd rather trust them over an experienced veteran?"

"I'd rather trust them over someone who points weapons at their own kind. I am already caught up as Sergeant Ryoutarou briefed me on the current situation, now let me take command-"

"This is a Garrison matter, you have no business here Kayaba."

"I don't…?" How did this man get captain? "...You are threatening and pointing lethal weapons at…" he raised his voice "..MY SOLDIERS as I am a branch commander and I'm pretty sure this is well within my jurisdiction.."

"He's right." a new voice cut in

"Oh hello, Seijirou."

"Hello, Tsuboi"

"C-commander." Godfree saluted.

"Now please explain the situation to me?"

Godfree explained the situation to the commanders.

Interesting… "So you're saying that you would turn down this pleading soldier?"

"That's no-"

"Very well let's hear what he has to say…" Ignoring the captain completely, he turned his head towards Kazuto "...Kirigaya?"

"C-commander."

"Come on don't get all shy on me now.." you did just threaten my life a few hours ago. "...you were saying we could retake the district, no?" The other soldiers looked at Kayaba like he was crazy.

ehh what's Aki on about? The Garrison commander looked at him.

"Yes, Commander…w-with Eugeo's 'titan power' we can utilize him by making him pick up the boulder that crushed one of the houses, and we can bait titans away from him."

Kikuoka turned his head and immediately met Eugeo's eyes. Now this is interesting…

They were now up on the wall above the inner gate.

Kikuoka was speaking with Kirigaya

"It's gonna be hard killing titans to protect him."

"Who said we had to fight..?" Kazuto looked back at him "...Just send a few to protect and escort him, the others just have to act as bait; they just have to catch the titans attention and lead them away from Eugeo."

OH right, Kikuoka was a bit embarrassed that he didn't think of that instead a mere soldier did, he could now see why Kayaba was interested in him.

"Oh that makes more sense."

Alice was with Eugeo sitting next to him.

"Eugeo if you're not sure you can do this, I'll tell them to cancel the mission."

"What…?" Eugeo was a bit irked at this "..If I can use this to save lives I will."

"But..I'm scared…"

"Scared of…?" Eugeo was confused. What Alice is scared of? She is one of the most beautiful and strongest women I know.

"I am scared of-" Suddenly she was interrupted as Kayaba approached them.

"Do you need to speak with Eugeo, Commander?"

"Yes, but you can finish what you need to say."

There was a pause. "Alice…?"

"Nevermind.." she smiled "...I'm pretty sure Kayaba has something important to discuss with you and besides Fanatio needs to speak with me about the mission, see ya." Alice got up and walked towards her comrades.

I'm pretty sure what you had to say was important too. Eugeo looked up at Kayaba who asked him a question. "Can you do this?"

"Well commander It's going to be hard to pull this off but I'll try my best."

"Sorry, I asked the wrong question."

"Huh?"

Akihiko knelt down on his knees and made eye contact with Eugeo. He had the most stoic expression on his face. It kind of scared the boy. "Will you do it…?" Suddenly time froze when those words were heard. It was such an easy yet complex question. Eugeo could do it but did he have the willpower to do it?

"Alice, you will be assigned to escort Eugeo with us." Fanatio said her team was behind her. A scout team could be seen heading towards them. "Yo bandana boy how's it goin?" She liked to tease him.

"When will you use my name Fanatio?"

"When all the titans are dead."

"Pfft…" He turned to Alice "...Who's this beauty?" He complimented her but did not say it in a flirtatious tone.

"Must you hit on every girl you see..shame on you, you have Rika."

"What I'm just an honest guy besides Lisbeth is the most beautiful to me."

Fanatio seemed a bit angry… "Lisbeth…who's that?"

Rika was walking towards them while they were conversing and she smiled at what she was hearing.

"That would be me…"

Fanatio looked at Rika and was confused, "It's a nickname hon."

"How do you get Lisbeth from Rika?"

"You see it's a long story, I won't have time to explain it." She looked around and saw that they were still prepping and when she looked back at the group their faces were begging her to tell her the story. "Fuck it, I'll tell you grab a beer if you want actually don't…" Some of them sat on a box "..It was when me and Tsuboi were still in the Cadet Corps. We went on a trip as Cadets and brought our gear along to see what it was like to be a soldier at the time. A big mistake we left our gear bag unattended near a bench when we took a break at a cafe. The Instructor got mad and told us to find our gear by the end of the day or he'd fail us-"

"Sheesh, that seems unfair." Alice interrupted.

"I know but it was partially our fault. Long story short they were criminals and we had to use fake names we came up with. I came up with 'Lisbeth'. Tsu came up with 'Klein'."

"Wow, ok that's some pretty good lore."

"Alice what?"

"Forget I said anything."

Kazuto was staring at the sunset, the wind was occasionally blowing to the left. He was thinking how Sachi would've enjoyed looking at this.

It's all my fault.. He momentarily closed his eyes

"Ahem." Kazuto turned to the right and saw Kayaba standing there stoic as ever. "I'm assigning you on the escort team with Tsuboi and Eji."

"But Commander-"

"What..?" He looked in his eyes and Kayaba knew he wasn't scared. "Now's not the time to be selfish Kirigaya, your squad may be gone but we still have to fight now for humanity, so pull yourself together."

He laughed. "Yes, Commander." and he went towards Tsuboi's group. There was a bit of tension when he passed Kayaba. Walking towards his squadmates and stopping in front of Tsuboi.

"Yo."

He took the cigarette out of his mouth, "Oh hey Kazuto."

"I was assigned here."

"I know, the commander told me beforehand."

Sejirou Kikuoka walked to the center of the inner gate, stopped when he was near the edge clearing his throat and yelled at the top of his lungs.

"AHEM MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION!" All the chattering stopped immediately and every soldier looking up focused on the commander.

A soldier spoke. "He does realize he's like 60 meters high…right?"

"SHUSH" another responded, trying to listen intently.

"TODAY…WE TAKE BACK OUR DISTRICT…HOW….?" he motioned for Eugeo to come and he faced forward saluting them. "OUR ANSWER IS SCOUT NAKAMO…THIS MAN HAS ACQUIRED THE POWER TO BECOME A TITAN WHILE MAINTAINING HIS CONSCIOUSNESS, WITH HIS POWER WE CAN RETAKE OUR HOMES. YOUR JOB IS TOO ACT AS BAIT YOU WILL NOT BE ASKED TO ENGAGE THE OTHER TITANS. A SPECIAL TEAM WILL ESCORT AND PROTECT EUGEO…" He started to go more in depth as he explained.

"You ready guys?" Tsuboi asked

"Yes."

"LET'S GIVE EM HELL!"

"YEAH!" The group got in a stance and immediately dropped down to go to the boulder meanwhile the decoy squad was prepping.

Eugeo was going full speed. He promised himself he was gonna make a difference, now that he had the power to do so, what was stopping him?

He was nearing the boulder and he bit his hand to transform and out came his titan body but something unexpected happened. He crashed into a house completely demolishing it but was lying on his belly not moving.

"Eugeo?!" Alice was confused on why he was not getting up.

The titans were attracted by Eugeo's transformation.

"Shit…" Tsuboi muttered.

Kazuto didn't care about how many titans there were. He drew both of his swords and went airborne circling a titan and killing it, landing on a rooftop shortly afterwards and going after another. The garrison soldiers couldn't help but admire him. It was hard to fathom that he was a fresh graduate instead he looked like a battle hardened veteran.

"OI WHY ARE WE SITTING AND TWIDDLING OUR THUMBS, ASSIST KIRIGAYA..!" Eldrie shouted turning towards Zuberg "ALICE STAY HERE AND WAKE YOUR BOYFRIEND UP FROM HIS BEAUTY SLEEP!" As he went to help Kazuto and the others who were engaged with the titans.

"HE ISN'T MY BOYFRIEND.." y-yet. She blushed profusely at this thought but quickly shrugged it off and went to go find out what happened to Eugeo.

Eugeo awoke to a black space. When he awoke seeing surroundings the 16 year old boy was filled with confusion and worry.

"Am I dead?" He said to no one in particular

Then voices came rushing at him all at once.

'You have-, I'll destroy the-, FIGHT, To achieve something you must abandon what you love the-'

"AHHHH" He couldn't take anymore of this info and clutched his head in pain. Trying to remember what he was doing.

So many voices it hurts..

A hole formed under him and he sank and was plopped on a bed lying down on his belly.

Oh it was just a bad dream…

A fly landed next to him as he was closing his eyes.

"Eugeo what do u want for lunch?" his mother Shion called out to him.

"Eugeo, please wake up…" Alice begged. "...the others don't believe in you but..i do"

The fly seemed to annoy Eugeo, so he blew on it

Alice noticed that Eugeo's titan seemed to be sucking in air "Eugeo can you hea-" He blew it out, resulting in her backside violently shoved against a house.

"OOF!" A 15 meter titan was approaching Eugeo's titan. Alice tried to move but could not due to the shock and her back was in pain. Kazuto seemed to notice this. Why isn't Alice making a move? He decided to investigate jumping off the roof and boosting in mid air and what he saw scared him. He quickly attached to the nape of the titan and slashed the nape. He quickly went to Alice.

"ALICE WHAT HAPPENED?!"

"Kazuto..It was Eugeo…" Kazuto looked confused… "It wasn't like he was himself though.." Alice tried to explain. Kazuto then seemed to get an idea. He got on the backside of Eugeo's titan and scanned for his nape. He then hooked onto both sides then envisioned where his arm would be, hoping not to kill him.

Please be ok. He repeated it in his head until the moment he stabbed him. He roared loudly which in turn attracted more titans.

"KAZUTO WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Alice shouted since she couldn't see what was happening and only heard Eugeo's roaring. Eldrie and the rest looked over in the direction of Eugeo. What the hell is Eugeo doing?

"OI OI OI" Kazuto was swinging on his back hanging on for dear life when he calmed down "HEY EUGEO WAKE UP OR ARE YOU CONTENT LIVING IN FEAR?!" He tried to get through to him.

"...OR ARE YOU CONTENT LIVING IN FEAR?!" Once Eugeo heard this he finally realized that he was dreaming. FEAR…I'M DONE WITH THAT! He finally regained consciousness and looked around and saw Alice and the boulder. Right time to get to work, but he noticed titans so he got in a fighting stance. "EUGEO, FOCUS ON THE BOULDER I'LL HANDLE THE TITANS!" Kazuto yelled as he was heading towards them.

Tsuboi and Eji were heading back to them as it was advised by Eldrie to check on them. While Eldrie handled things and took command of the frontlines.

Tsuboi and Eji were headed to them when.

"Eiji watch out!" He shoved him away and Tsuboi was grabbed by a titan who jumped out of a building.

Eiji fell down due to the sudden movement and was scratched by a flying piece of rubble but the thing he registerd was Tsuboi being grabbed by a titan. He remembered what Kayaba said to him. "If you ever find yourself in a pickle run away" Eji was shocked at what Kayaba suggested "What, why would I leave my comrades to die?" Kayaba responded "Don't get me wrong, I am mearley advising you to survive."

Eiji was confused what made him stand out? He wasn't a fighter, he was a useless medic

"What makes me so special?"

Kayaba smiled and responded "We can replace 1000 fighters but we can't replace someone of your skill."

"My skill?"

"Yes, your skill to save lives."

He laughed

"I'm being serious, everytime we go out there an injured person dies while being transported, if he had proper medical treatment he could live, you could change that Eji we can't afford to let you die you're special."

He got up. No way am I letting Tsuboi die, not while I can help it. He ran towards the titan and attached to the nape.

Tsuboi was scared shit is this it?

Eiji hit the trigger and zoomed directly to the nape, luckily the titan's focus was on Tsuboi. He made a slashing motion and the titan fell down. The giant hand loosened and Tsuboi came out.

"Holy shit." Did I just do that? Eji himself couldn't believe what he just did.

"Eiji let's go." Tsuboi and Eji immediately took off towards the boulder.

Kazuto was circling the tower, easily killing the advancing giants. They barely had any time to react. Kayaba was looking through binoculars smiling. Kazuto just kept moving, slicing and slicing nape after nape.

Meanwhile Eugeo was struggling to pick up a boulder like 2 times his size. I can't do it… He backed away from the boulder and collapsed two feet away. Then he remembered what Kayaba said to him, "Will you do it?" He then opened his eyes and got and grabbed the bottom of the boulder and grabbed it. Using all his muscles "RAAAAAAAAAAAA!". He lifted the boulder over his head and started walking. Everyone saw this and morale Immediately went up.

After Eji and Tsuboi arrived at the scene they were shocked to see Eugeo pick up the boulder and carry it.

"Eji, I'm gonna help Kirigaya, Alice looks like she needs help."

"Roger,"

He went towards Alice and slid stopping just a centimeter away from her.

"Huh, who are you?"

"Relax, I am here to help you." he said as he stood up and walked towards her

"W-what are y- aahh" She moved slightly and screamed in pain because of her injured back.

"I'm here to help you with that." He pointed at her back while moving closer.

"How?"

"I'm a medic. I can ease it until you can get better treatment, may I examine your back?"

"Sure." She scooted forward a bit and lifted her shirt up to her breast line so he could examine it fully. "Don't try anything funny" Alice made a pouting face at him.

"And they call men perverts.." He muttered. Yuna would kill me if she saw this.

Eji took out his medkit and opened it. Putting on his gloves Alice was wondering what the hell he was doing.

"Why are you putting on gloves?"

"So I don't get cooties." He chuckled while putting on his left glove.

"What are you, a grade schooler?" she chided him

"I wish.."

Eji took out a cream and squeezed some out onto his gloved hand. "You ready?"

"F-for what?" She was pretty nervous now.

"This is gonna get pretty cold."

Cold? She wore a confused expression now

Since Eji couldn't get behind her he went to the side and started rubbing the ointment on her back.

"EEP."

"Don't worry it'll be over soon.

Alice noticed how he had a straight face while doing this. What how, don't tell me he has experience with other girls?

He continued this and Alice couldn't help but blush in embarrassment.

Holy shit. Tsuboi could now see why Kayaba was intrigued by Kazuto. Dude was a mean killing machine.

He circled around a titan and slashed its nape.

Eugeo's stomps were so loud it attracted every titan.

"PROTECT EUGEO AT ALL COSTS EVEN IF IT COSTS YOUR LIFE!" Eldrie yelled and fought alongside his comrades. Eugeo was almost there, he wanted to drop the boulder right then and there. His arms were weak and palms were sweaty, ready to collapse at any given moment. COME ON YOU GOT THIS JUST A LITTLE MORE ALMOST THERE! All he had to do was turn right at the next corner and he'd have a straight path to the broken gate. Oh shit. There was an abnormal titan headed straight for him. Just then he saw Kazuto slide under his legs.

"GO EUGEO I GOT THIS TITAN, FOCUS ON REACHING THE HOLE!"

Kazuto used both of his hooks to attach to the parallel sides of the buildings and boosted then he unhooked the left side which caused him to spin, then he retracted his right hook mid spin, he was now behind the abnormal which ignored him. Perfecto Kazuto smirked as he attached the nape, boosting then slashing the nape. "HYAAAAAH!"

As Eugeo was getting closer to the abnormal he saw Kazuto go past it not even aiming for the nape. He was a bit nervous but he trusted his brother in arms. Once Kazuto subdued the titan he sped up and almost dropped it but not until it blocked the hole in the wall. Once it was done, Fanatio who was on a roof nearby fired a yellow flare signaling that the mission was a success. She dropped down due to exhaustion and cried tears of joy. For the first time humanity has won against titankind.

Eugeo came out and detached from his titan body. Half of his face was red due to a fever and stood up but could barely take a step.

Alice came with Eji who was holding her by the shoulder

She ran towards him

"Eugeo!" Hugging him tight and not letting him go.

"Alice.." He wrapped his arms around her just enjoying her presence.

"I was..so s-scared.."

"Relax, the wall is plugged up now."

That's not what I was scared of, you idiot.. She even used more force when hugging him "I'm scared of losing you…" she moved back and looked into his soft yet icy blue eyes.

"Trust me you won't…"

"I think I'll regret not doing this.." she said softly to him.

"Wh-" and she smashed her lips onto him and he melted and followed her lead. The whole world was spinning for him, It was just them two no one else. The two separated and looked at each other. Both were redder than tomatoes.

"So…" Eugeo said this, unable to make eye contact with her. "...Does this mea-"

"Yes." She responded having an idea about what he was about to ask.

"Are you ready to go back?"

"Uh…Alice..."

Eugeo explained he needed help and she gladly helped him up the wall and watched the sunset together enjoying the moment and each other. Eugeo was curious about one thing so he decided to ask Alice.

"Alice."

"Yes?" She straightened up as she was leaning into him and made eye contact.

"Are you sure you wanna go out with me…?" Oh that hit a nerve. As she scrunched up to her face.

"Did that kiss mean nothing to you…?"

"No it's because I'm a…titan…" She softened up after seeing where he was coming from. She brought his head closer to her.

"I don't care about that, all I know is that I l-like you. Besides you're a good titan you helped plug up the wall."

"I guess…" He just leaned into her embrace.

There were still only a handful of titans left after everyone retreated, luckily the Garrison had cannons in the rear and shot them all down easily.

Koichiro was being chased by a fifteen meter titan. He was headed for that wall Almost there. The titan reached out his hand as Koichiro was about to boost and he narrowly avoided being grabbed by and successfully avoided.

He successfully made up the wall and saw Kazuto and Alice arguing something about Eugeo, getting closer to hear the conversation.

"Kayaba, what do you mean we are putting him on trial?" Alice asked worriedly

"It's not in my hands the MP's have authority."

"Why though?" Kazuto asked

"Because they still believe he is a threat."

What the fuck are they blind, did they not see him plug up the wall? "Stupid Bueraucats.." Kazuto muttered.

"That's unfa-" Alice was then interrupted by Kayaba

"You think I don't know that, It's frustrating to me as they take my soldier without my permission."

"What do they want from Eugeo? It makes more sense for him to stay in the scouts."

"They wanna dissect him apparently…"

Akihiko then walked away.

"It's gonna be ok, Alice." Kazuto tried to comfort her and was gonna tell her that Eugeo wasn't gonna die as long as he lived.

She snapped. "REALLY IT IS? I JUST FEEL LIKE I GOT HIM BACK JUST TO LOSE HIM AGAIN!" Letting tears fall and catching others attention she then angrily ran off.

Koichiro then approached Kazuto

"Hey, how are you holding up Kazu?"

"I'm good…" He wasn't really okay losing his lover only a few hours ago and he was about to lose his best friend to the government but he put on a strong face.

"So..wanna go to Dicey's?"

Back when Koichiro and Kazuto were cadets

Kazuto was stretching "Dang, another shift completed."

"Yep."

"Wish we got paid."

Just then Koichiro's stomach growled

"Dang if only we had money, we could treat your fatass"

Koichiro chuckled, "What can I say, work is taxing."

Just then a familiar voice cut in "Hello boys."

They turned around startled by the voice.

"Oh uh hello, Sergeant Mills." they saluted.

"Relax, we are off-duty anyways and heard a blubbering boar go off nearby." Koichiro looked away with his eyes and Kazuto just snickered.

"Blame Koichiro."

"HEY!"

"Anyways me and my wife have a small establishment called The Dicey Cafe and I was wondering if you guys wanted to tag along?"

Kazuto puckered up at these words but then realized the harsh reality of the situation

"We have no money, Sergeant."

"Please call me Andrew, when we are off duty and it's on the house."

The three soldiers chatted and went to The Dicey Cafe.

"I mean The Dicey Cafe was in the district, not sure if it's open yet but yeah we can go to a random one, after I take a shower." She was like the mother of all soldiers and was the only friendly space for soldiers.

"Bet."

Kazuto took a quick shower. For some reason it hurt when he kept his eyes open. So he closed his eyes, enjoying the warmth instead.

Eugeo was in the back of a carriage, it was a special metal one designed to transport prisoners. He was all alone, cold and cuffed and sleepy, he was scared but didn't wanna admit it. He was being treated like a criminal despite what he had done. He heard the two MP's speaking as well.

"Can you believe this?"

"This is absurd. Kayaba's high, no one can transform into a titan must've done something himself." The officer grumbled loudly

Kazuto and Koichiro were now sitting at the bar receiving stares from others.

"Waste of taxes." Kazuto heard a patron mumble but he paid no mind to it. The waiter served them their drinks. He noticed that the drinks were half full and decided to take it up with management.

"One moment Koi."

"Kazuto…" Koichiro sounded nervous as Kazuto walked away.

He went up to the bar, "Uh hello?" ringing the bell on the countertop.

"Yes, how can I help?" The woman asked.

"Me and my friend paid full price for two drinks." He said as he pointed to Koichiro who was staring outside the window.

"What did you boys order?"

"Iced tea."

"Oh-."

"When you guys do something useful then you can get a full glass." The manager cut in.

Does this guy have a stick up his ass?

"Excuse me?" Koichiro came up and wanted to see what the hold up was about.

"You heard me, do something useful then I'll consider giving you guys a full cup."

"Look, I lost a lot of friends today. I am not in the mood." Kazuto shot back immediately.

Uh oh gotta get Kazu out of here… Wearing an awkward smile.

"Oh boo hoo cry to someone who cares!" The manager shot back.

Kazuto was fuming on the inside and took his anger out by kicking and breaking an empty barstool. Drank his half of the iced tea and immediately walked out with Koichiro following behind.

"Stupid scouts." He was pissed about his broken stool. Calming down he turned his head to the right. "Now that's how you deal with unruly people-" What where did she disappear to?

"Kazu, are you sure that was the right way to react? What if he reports it to Kayaba?"

"I don't give two fucks about that!"

Ok Kazuto's angry. Koichiro was a bit scared.

"Let's just go home, Kazu. It's getting late anyways."

A familiar voice cut in. "Wait."

Kazuto turned around. What's the redhead doing here from the bar?

"I um- I- here!" She didn't know what to say so she held out her hands showing two full glasses of iced tea.

"Uh how much?"

"It's free, just dont tell my boss kay?"

They accepted after some convincing. Koichiro had gone home after taking his glass.

"Thanks..Uhhh…"

"Rosalia."

"Kazuto." He introduced himself.

There was an awkward silence between them until one of them spoke up.

"I gotta go, got school tomorrow."

"See ya." They both parted ways. Kazuto was lost in thought So not everyone hates us? He smiled for some reason.

Chapter nine is done, don't be afraid to leave criticism and feedback. Also each character may not have a canon compliant backstory as I will make them up and wanna make them fit in this fic.
