Ember was at home when she saw that the mail man drove up to her home. She put her shoes on and headed out. She was going to go to get some fresh air, maybe go get security cameras or something.

Anything really.

She didn't like being at home anymore, her safe space wasn't safe anymore. She needed to pick up more of antianxiety meds, she's been using them more since the very first attack. And it was all his fault.

All Ember wanted was to feel safe once more. Maybe she should call Poe. He always made her feel safe. Maybe invite him over, and they could talk about things making it like they were talking about her sister's case.

She just wanted someone to help her feel safe. Someone she trusted.

Going outside she made her way to the gate of her place. "Ember? There you are. I've been meaning to come talk to you." A voice called. Looking up, Ember saw one of her neighbors, Laurance. He was someone who made it well known he had a thing for Ember, even though she didn't give him reason to.

He was a married man for one, and he just wasn't her type.

"Hey Laurance." Ember greeted the man with greying hair. Earned from his job and kids.

"Here. Let me grab your mail for you, since I'm on this side." He told her as he grabbed it for her. She took it and put it under her arm when he handed it to her.

"I heard about what happened to you. I'm so sorry for your loss and pain. If there is anything you need from me, just let me know. You know I'm only a call away. If you want, Lisa and the kids are gone for the week, I can stay over and make sure you're safe." He offered.

She gave a forced smile as she looked down at her feet. "I'll be ok Laurance. But thank you for the kind offer. I'm actually staying busy. Work and such." She explained, looking at him through her hair.

"You shouldn't be living alone. You need a man to help take care of you." He told her moving to lean against the gate now. Ember was still being polite. "I'm not alone. I have Momo... and I have a boyfriend." She lied at the last part.

"Ember?" A voice asked, she looked over and brightened seeing Poe. She hoped that he would go with this lie. "Hey sweetie. I'm almost ready for breakfast. I wanted to get the mail before you got here." She told him, as Poe went over.

He raised an eyebrow at her, then grinned. "That's ok love. Take your time." Poe said, then looked at Laurance. "Hey there. I'm Detective Poe Dameron. I'm Ember's boyfriend." He introduced, holding a hand out.

Laurance looked Poe over, and then at Ember, before taking the handsome detective's hand to shake.

"I'm Laurance. I live across the street. I've been away at work, I just got back and heard about Ember being attacked. I was making sure she was doing ok and needed anything." Laurance told him. Poe nodded.

"Well. Thank you for checking in on my sweet girl." He said. "Now if you can excuse us, we have a date planned for the day." Poe continued. Laurance nodded. "Yeah. No problem. Again Ember. I'm just a call away if you need anything." He told her before giving Poe a once over and went back home.

Poe followed Ember inside since they were sure Laurance would be watching them.

"I'm sorry about that and thank you for going with that. I haven't given him any reason to hit on me or try to sleep with me. But he still tries. Even though he's married." Ember said making a disgusted face.

"Well. I guess it was a good thing I came to check in on you." He told her with that attractive boyish grin of his. Ember couldn't help but crack a smile at that and nodded. "Yeah, it was. But now I'm taking you away from your schedule." She told him.

Poe shook his head. "I didn't have anything else planned. I have today off, that's why I came to check on you, since I finally had some free time." He told her.

"How about we get out of here for the day? Not as someone who is working on your sister's case. But as a friend." He suggested. Ember perked up and nodded. "I think I'd like that." She said with a nod.

The two had gone for something for breakfast then went to the Aquarium. Ember hasn't been there in a long time. It was a dream place to go on a date at, but she had to remind herself that this wasn't a date.

But she was having a great time with Poe. He made her feel safe. Made her feel happy. Helped her forget all that was happening in her life.

She just didn't know that something was currently happening at her house.

When she got home, Ember thanked Poe for the amazing day with him. Thanked him for checking on her and helping her clear her mind of things happening. He even walked her to the door.

He stopped her from unlocking her door by touching her arm. Her big greenish blue eyes looked at him. "Please slap me." He said softly as his face got close to hers. She froze there as his lips found hers.

Her eyes closed, but before she could kiss him back, he pulled away.

"I'm sorry. That was highly inappropriate." He told her. "We will check in on you again." He then headed back to his car, and left her.

She stood there shocked and sad.

She sighed deeply, and went back in. Not seeing Laurance at his window, hitting it to try and get her attention. To get her help.

Until the figure behind him, dragged him away.

Ember woke up in the middle of the night to a slap to the ass. She yelped but wasn't able to move. She struggled till she felt someone get onto the bed, and on top of her. Her blood froze, as realizing who it was, hit her.

"You were out with another man. You even let him kiss you. Now the being out with him, I can understand. He helped you with that annoying neighbor and you needed to keep up the lie. But you didn't need to be out with him all day. Nor did you need to let him kiss you. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and say you didn't get to push him away in time. I'm in a better mood." His voice told her.

"Please. Don't hurt me." Ember whimpered as tears filled her eyes. His deep chuckle filled her ear. "I'm not going to mark you again. My blood lust has been dealt with. I wanted to make sure you knew that I have eyes everywhere. I know where you are. I know who you are with. And I know what you're doing at all times." His tone held a deadly warning in it.

She nodded.

She just wanted him to leave her alone. Or just kill her already. Not toy with her anymore.

"You belong to me and me alone. Say it." He ordered her. She was quiet until he made her yell out by yanking hair out of her scalp as a punishment. "I'm yours." She said quickly.

"Seeing you with kids made me think of you with our children. I didn't think I would want kids. But it got to me. You're a motherly woman. And it made me want to get you pregnant. But don't worry. We won't try tonight. But soon. I can't stay to long." He told her, making her fear rise even more.

He kissed her head. "Try and get some rest pet. You have a busy day tomorrow." He told her then he pressed into something into her neck, and it all went black for her.
