Chapter V
Naruto was walking the streets of Konoha minding his own business doing his best to ignore the hateful glares and whispers. Naruto had to laugh though as with every hateful whisper they were insulting their beloved Yondaime Hokage since they were spiteing Naruto's heritage, if only they knew he was the son of Minato, seriously how has no one figured this out he looked exactly like his father.
Naruto sighed and closed his eyes, calming himself. Sometimes he really hated this village. When Naruto opened his eyes he saw a teen wearing a puppeteers outfit with a large bandaged package on his back. Th teen was holding Konohamau by the cuff of his shirt.
"Hey make-up boy put the kid down." Naruto said firmly.
"And if I don't?" the teen asked.
"I beat the ever living shit out of you and risk war with Suna over the Hokage's Grandson." Naruto said seriously.
"This kid ran into me so I plan on teaching him a lesson. Being the Hokage's grandson doesn't grant immunity from me." the boy said.
Naruto tapped into the Kyubi's chakra for an added scare tactic. He knew most people were afraid of him since he was the Jinchuriki of the Kyubi so why not use it to his advantage. As an added bonus to Naruto tapping into the Kyubi's chakra Naruto's eyes went from blue to red.
"Put the kid down or you will answer to me." Naruto said firmly with the Kyubi's voice lacing his own.
The teen got scared recognizing the chakra of a tailed beast.
"You're just like Gaara." the boy said scared of Naruto.
The boy dropped Konohamaru who ran behind Naruto to hide.
"Get lost." Naruto said to the boy.
"I told you not to mess with the kid." the girl with the puppeteer said.
The two teens left Naruto and Konohamaru behind as naruto returned to normal.
"Nisan, what did you do that changed you?" Konohamaru asked.
"I tapped into the Kyubi sealed within me, that's all. Trust me I was in total control. I wasn't about to let some forein ninja hurt my Otouto." Naruto said his voice was back to normal as well. "Come on, let's get you to JIji's."
Naruto and Konohamaru began to walk toward the Hokage Tower. Naruto knew that the Chunin Exams were coming up so there would be many foreign ninja coming to Konoha, Naruto just prayed that he wouldn't have to rescue Konohamaru from all of them. When Naruto and Konohamaru arrived at the Hokage Tower the duo walked up the stairs to the Hokage's Office. Once at the office door Naruto knocked.
"Enter." came Hiruzen's raspy voice.
Naruto opened the door and ushered Konohamaru in.
"Hey Jiji." Naruto said.
"Ah, Naruto and you brought Konohamaru with you. What can I do for you?" Hiruzen asked.
"Just came to drop off Konohamaru. Had to save him from a Suna nin while on my way to meet my team which I am late for so I will take my leave." Naruto said.
Naruto turned to leave but not before hearing what Konohamaru asked Hiruzen.
"JIji does Naruto really have the Kyubi sealed inside of him?" Konohamaru asked.
Hiruzen sighed "Yes Konohamaru he does but that information is highly classified so don't tell anyone about it."
Naruto soon arrived at his team's usual meeting place a local coffee house that didn't seem to mind Naruo's service.
"You're Late." Hinata said in an annoyed tone.
"Had to stop some bully from attacking a civilian." Naruto said.
"That's no excuse." Hinata said. "Kurenai-sensei told us to be here at a certain time, not when you feel like gracing us with your presence."
"Hinata-san it's Illogical to be mad at Naruto for defending a villager when it's our job to protect Konoha and all her citizens." Shino said.
"Shino has a point, Hinata." Kurenai said as she walked into the coffee house.
Hinata mumbled something under her breath but no one could make out what she said.
"Now as you three know the Chunin Exams are coming up I have put your names forward to participate in these exams, that's why we underwent special training." Kurenai said before pulling out three papers. "These are your participation papers, fill them out and take them to room 301 in the Ninja Academy."
"When do these exams start Kurenai-sensei?" Naruto asked.
"Tomorrow at one o'clock in the afternoon." Kurenai said.

The next day Naruto walked up to the Ninja academy and flashbacks of him and his friends laughing and joking came to his mind. Naruto smiled and walked up to the entrance where he saw Shino and Hinata waiting for him.
"How kind of you to join us, Naruto." Hinata said annoyed.
"Hey HInata, hey Shino." Naruto said.
"Hello Naruto-san." Shino said plainly.
"So who's ready to raise hell?" Naruto asked.
Hinata smirked slightly. "Just follow my lead and we will ace these exams."
Team Eight entered the academy and began their ascent up through the academy there were three floors in total so getting to the third floor wasn't hard but when they reached the second floor they saw a lard crowd blocking their path. The crowd was in front of a classroom labeled 301 but Team Eight could tell it was a genjutsu.
"This is just pathetic." Hinata said. "If these low class ninja can't see through a simple genjutsu then they have no place in these exams."
"Don't be too hard on them Hinata. But you do have a point, this genjutsu is just pathetic.." Naruto said as he began to move once again.
"Whatever, let's just get to the third floor." Hinata said folding her arms and walking ahead of Naruto.
Once on the real third floor Team Eight entered room 301 and saw Kurenai standing outside the door.
"So you guys made it congrats on passing the first test of the exams. Only a full team can enter these exams." Kurenai explained.
Team Eight entered the Classroom and saw a large number of participants all exuding killer intent trying to exert dominance over the other participants. Naruto smirked as he ented the room and felt the killer intent he decided to one up them and tapped into the Kyubi's chakra then let out his own Kyubi laced killer intent out. Instantly all other sources stopped and fear rose up in its place.
"That was a bit much, don't you think Naruto?" came the calm voice of Neji.
"Meh, I felt like declaring my presence." Naruto said to Neji not bothering to look at Neji.
"Yeah but did you have to drown the place with that chakra?" Tenten asked.
"Yes, yes I did." Naruto said with a smirk.
As Naruto was talking to team nine a teen around the same age as Naruto came over.
"You, you are like me?" the boy asked.
Naruto looked at the red headed boy with mild confusion but quickly grasped what the boy meant. "That may be true. But I can tell your seal is useless. I can fix it if you like."
"I would like to sleep again. Ever since the voice started and my dreams began I have been unable to sleep." the boy said. "My name is Gaara."
"Uzumaki Naruto. Meet me at this location after the first exam ends and I'll fix that seal of yours." Naruto said giving Gaara a small piece of paper with the location written on it.
While Naruto was distracted with Gaara and his friends, an older shinobi from Kusa managed to cast a genjutsu to mask his movements and used a jutsu to stretch his neck and bite Naruto on the shoulder. Once bitten a black mark appeared on Naruto and the ninja retreated and canceled the genjutsu. Naruto felt the mark pulse on his shoulder and by the time he turned around there was no one around other than his friends.
"Naruto, are you alright?" Tenten asked.
"Yes, I just felt a sharp pain like someone bit me." Naruto replied.
"We didn't see anything." Neji said.
"Weird." Naruto said.
On Naruto's shoulder were three black slightly curved lines in a windmill pattern.
'Let's see how you like my gift Naruto-kun.' Orochimaru who was disguised as an examinee.
