No one POV

"So what job are you thinking of taking Wendy?" Charle asked.

"I'm not sure. Natsu and everyone left for Akane this morning so I was thinking of something simple" Wendy said picking one of the monster slaying jobs.

"A man would kill all the monsters!" Elfman cheered.

"Hai!" Wendy said smiling at him.

"You're going alone?" Mirajane asked with a cornered tone.

"Charle is coming with me." She replied smiling.

"Romeo!HICCUP!!" Maste\

r Makarov yelled.

"Yes master?" Romeo said getting up from his table across the guild hall. Makarov sighed as he took another long swig of his alcohol. His cheeks turned pink. "Go with Wendy on her job. She is too young to go alone."

"Master... I'm 14..." Wendy said.

"Well good! So is Romeo" Makarov smiled.

"But-" She started

Makarov's eyes glowed as his size began to grow.

"Romeo will go with you Wendy." He said his voice booming.

"Hai! Master! I just didn't want to be a bother!" She stammered.

"It's not a bother Wendy, we will be back in a couple days master!" Romeo said waving on his way out the door hands in his pockets Wendy hurrying after him. They walked in silence for a long time until the reached the out skirts of Magnolia.

"So... what job did you pick?" Romeo asked.

"Oh.. slaying Lizard men out in the east forest." She said holding up the paper.

"300,000J" Romeo asked shocked at the prize money for the job.

"Yeah they say they are over run but we shall see" she smiled back at him. "We can make camp on the forest out skirts."

"Okay" Romeo nodded.

Meanwhile...

"Has anyone seen Romeo? I found us a job! It's perfect," Macao said smiling.

"Oh he already left... He didn't tell you?" MiraJane said.

"He left? Like on a job?"

"Yes the master told him to accompany Wendy on her job" she smiled.

"Wait... Master sent my 14 year old son... on a job.. alone with a pretty girl??!!" Macao said his gaze frozen.

"They will be fine Macao. Romeo is a good boy and Charle is with them besides it's only a monster slaying mission."

"What are they slaying?" he asked.

"Lizard men"

Romeo POV

The next morning Wendy and I entered the forest. We tracked the lizard men here and there but didn't find much. We stopped and had lunch by a stream with Charle. I couldn't help but splash her. "Romeo!" She yelled at me smiling.

"What?" I chuckled looking looking at her like I was innocent. "It slipped..." I smile turning pink. She is so cute...

"Oh really?" She asked putting her hands on her hips. I shrugged right as she flung water at me. I looked a her and smirked.

"Now now children-" SPLASH!!!!

Both of us hit Charle at the same time. "I'll be sitting over there where water can't get me" Charle said walking back to the trees.

"You really wanna go?" I asked.

"Bring it!" She responded. We began splashing in the stream. Kicking and throwing water every which way. I ran towards her and picked her up.

"No no no!" She laughed.

"Hahahaha" I bellowed as I fell backwards into the stream drenching us both. We both laughed and sat up to catch our breath. Looking over at her our eyes lock. Instantly feeling nervous we both looked away.

"Wendy..." I said looking back towards her.

"Yes..." She said turning back to look at me.

"Wendy I- GET DOWN!!!!" I screamed as a Lizard Man charged her. "PURPLE NET!" I yelled as my purple fire erupted creating a net blocking the Lizard man from reaching her. We scrambled to our feet. More emerged from the forest tree line.

"Wendy! They're here!" Charle said as 3 more emerge from the other side of the shore line".

"YOSH! Let's go WENDY!" I yelled.

"Sky Dragon Roar!" Wendy shouted at a lizard man he was flung backwards in the trees groaning as he added tact with a large one. To think she's this strong at her age is crazy.

"Nice! Purple Flare!" I yelled sending out purple fire towards other lizard men. "They just keep coming!"

"Arms!" Wendy yelled enchanting me, "go use your blue fire they don't like the cold!"

"Right!" Changing my fire to blue, I engulfed my hands and began swinging at the lizard men. Each impact seemed to slow them more and more.

"Go Romeo!" Wendy cheered, "Sky Dragon Wind Wave!" She yelled as the remaining lizard men were swept away in her breeze. "Good.. job! " she panted.

"That wasn't so-" my words cut short as a sharp sensation pulsed through me. Looking down I could see me own blood...

"Hehe" a differently colored lizard man chuckled.

"Romeo!" Wendy yelled her eyes filling with tears as I sank to the ground. The lizards removed his body blooded claw from my abdomen.

"You.." I stammered. Using my magic while I could I engulfed myself in rainbow fire and grabbed him. "Explosion!!" I yelled as my fire erupted blowing the lizard man's arm clean off. I slumped forward.

"Charle! Get him" Wendy yelled. I looked back over towards her as things started to get blurry. Her hair had changed color... pink...hair ...Natsu? And suddenly I was flying...

Wendy POV

"Sky Dragon Wind Wave!" I yelled sending a powerful force toward the lizard man. Knocking him back. He got back up. Even with one arm he continue is press towards me.."Defense!" I said glowing as as my enchantment moved over my body.

"Roarrrr!" The lizard man yelled as he slashed his one hand at me over and over nicked my face blood welled.

"Speed!" I said again granting myself a speed enchantment to dodge. Jumping back I had a clear shot. "Sky dragon RO-"

A lizard man appeared behind me as he smacked me out of the sky my dragon force fading from the blow. Romeo... I thought looking over at him. He passed out.

"Charle! Get him back to the guild now! I will follow!" I yelled breathing heavily. My magic is...low

"Wendy..."

"Go!"

The sky...consume it...

"Sky Dragon Roar!!!!" I yelled as I watched Charle Romeo towards home. Jumping up i began to consume the air taking in as much as I could. "Thanks for the meal!" I said opening my eyes. Dragon force returning. "Arms" Let's hope all my combat training with the guys paid off . My hands became small tornados and I rushed the non injured lizard man. Dodging his blows, I punched him hard. It sent him flying back into another tree, the wood splintering and piercing his body. I ducked down and kicked the one armed lizard man out behind me. I heard a crack as my foot made contact with the his jaw. Ducking my head once mine ore I opened my mouth "Sky dragon! Roar!" I scream. My roar hit the earth sending me upward.

"Enchant! Heavy!" I said making myself heavier as I fell back to the earth landing on the one armed lizard men. The blow knocked him out cold.

Wham!

"Ah!" Pain shot threw me as I was thrown backwards into a large oak. The other lizard man had got up His jaw slack from the break. My dragon force flickered.. "Sky dragon... Wind Wave!" I yelled my tornado engulfing him sending him flying through the forest and out of my sight. Dragon force faded and I sank to my knees panting.

"Romeo..." I whispered. Forcing myself up. I headed back but was picked up and thrown into another tree. The impact knocked the air from my lungs. I looked up this time 4 lizards were standing over me. As their fists came down I dodge scrambling to my feet. I consumed more Sky, and began to fight again...I don't know how much longer I can do this...

No one POV

Charle burst through the guild doors. "Help! help! Wendy is still fighting all the lizard men! Romeo has been wounded bad!"

"Wendy" different guild members said with worried looks.

"Master..." mirajane cried.

"I'll go...gramps" A voice said.

"Bring her home...Laxus " Master Makarov said.

"Ah!" Laxus waves running out of the guild into the streets headed for Wendy.

"Wendy..." charle said her exhaustion setting in from flying Romeo back.

"Charle... we will get her back" Happy said chasing after Laxus.

"Arigato... Happy" Charle said fainting.

"My son!" Macao screamed!

"Quick! To the infirmary!" Mirajane yelled.

A few hours later... ROMEO POV

"Wendy!" Romeo shot up. "Where is Wendy?" He said concern. Looking over he saw his father asleep in a chair in the corn of his room. "To-Chan..."

"Hmm?? Oh! Romeo thank goodness you're awake" Macao said rushing over.

"Dad.. where is Wendy..." I asked.

"She hasn't returned yet, Laxus and Happy left to get her a few hours ago. Charle got you here mimicking Happy's ! 'max speed' she's been out since she brought you in."

Removing my covers I went to stand,"argh!" I groaned looking down at the bloody bandages.

"You are in no condition to fight son" Macao said .

"But Wendy.. she she saved me! i have to help her!"I yelled.

"She is a dragon slayer, she knows what's she is doing. She sent you here to be healed not to run back into a fight that could kill you." Macao said sternly.

"But..."

"No buts I will not lose my son. Laxus will return her." Macao said. I covered my face as tears fell.

"Wendy..."

Wendy POV

"Sky dragon... ROARRRRR!" I yelled. Two more lizard men flying backward. "ARGGHH" I screamed as Lizard man claws raked across my back. Is this...it for me? At least Romeo is safe... I feel forward.

Fight...Wendy!

Grandeeny... her voice rang in my head. Slamming my fist in the ground I stood once again. Panting heavily , I channeled my magic. My hair flickering between pink and blue until it became a solid pink.

"Second...origin..." I struggled activate it, but the Power erupted from me, my wind encased my whole body like Erigor's wind mail. The now 5 lizard men swarmed me. Holding my arms out I spun.

"Sky Dragon...Shattering SKY DRILL!" My wind whipped and lashed the lizard men. Blood splattered all over me as they fell over dead. My vision blurred. I heard rustling behind me. As One very large and very angry lizard emerged from the tree line out in front of me.

"You did this..." it said in broken speech.

"Sky Dragon! Roar!" I shouted my magic hitting him but it merely left a bruise.

"My...turn..." it said. Turning its large body its tail hit me instantly breaking my ribs throwing me out of the forest in to the field. I tried to stand but couldn't.

"Pretty...fairy... dead fairy..." it said slowly as it raised its foot to stomp me.

I'm sorry... Grandeeny...

"Raging BOLT"

"Wendy!"

Happy... Laxus...

No one POV

The lighting bolt hit the lizard however not hard enough... his foot came crashing down on Wendy.

"Wendy!"

"Wendy..." happy said tears in his eyes.

When he lifted his foot there was Wendy still breathing. She had enchanted her self one last and feinted.

"Happy!"

"Aye sir!!" Happy said flying in grabbing Wendy. "Wendy... are you okay?" But she said nothing.

"Another... fairy...you pay... female fairy..killed 40 children..." the lizard man said anger Pulsing.

This little girl killed 40 lizard men...

"You will pay for hurting her.." Laxus said. "Raiku! Red Lightening!" His Lightning taking on a reddish hue of struck the lizard man this time cutting through his scales. Laxus smirked.

"I will give you to the count of three... as fairy tail demands... "

"1" Gold light began forming in Laxus's hands

"2" He shifted his hands as more lizards emerged from the tree line.

"For Wendy...3 FAIRYYYYYY LAW!!!!!!!" He said as a huge gold magic circle appeared above the lizard man. It's light rained down him and all the others that rushed them.

"Warm...master?" Wendy said her eyes closed

"No... but someday maybe..." Laxus chuckled turning he looked over his shoulder as then lizard men. Their bodIes became ashes blowing with the wind.

The next day

"40? She killed 40?" Master Makarov said.

"Wendy is awesome!" Cana said.

"She is a dragon slayer after all." Lisanna said.

"She's manly"!!! Elfman screamed.

The guild hall opened. "Is she awake yet?" Romeo asked waking in. Thanks to Porlyusica he was healed for the most part. His concern now was with the young dragon slayer.

"Not yet son." Makarov said.

"It's my fault...i couldn't protect her." Romeo said tears forming.

"It's not your fault.. it's mine. I sent you both, I didn't know there would be that man lizard men and a lizard chief as well." Makarov said sighing.

"Laxus thank you..." Romeo said looking at him.

"It's a parents job to look after his children.. right gramps" Laxus said. "I'm going for a nap."

"Laxus..." Makarov said tears in his eyes.

"Master... Laxus used fairy law on the lizard man... he killed the remaining lizard men too... Wendy killed 40 but his Fairy Law wiped out the rest of his children... there were at least 100.."

"Can I go see her?" Romeo asked.

"Sure! I'll take you" Mirajane said leading him to the infirmary walking past Laxus, she grazed his arm and spoke, "I'm proud of you... Thank you.."

"Wendy!" Romeo called after the sleeping girl. She whined in her sleep.

"Don't disturb her boy" Porlyusica said glaring at Romeo.

"What is wrong with her? Will she be alright?" Romeo askeD.

"She used too much magic. Gosh this girl.. Just because she is a dragon slayer does not mean she can go around acting like Natsu. 40 lizard men? Don't bother her boy. I am going to have a word with Macky. How dare he do this to her" Porlyusica said walking out.

Romeo walked over her bed side. He remembered when she first came to Fairy Tail. She was quiet and very shy. To think she would now be taking out lizard men in mass quantities using Dragon force.. well who knew back then. He brushed a piece of her hair to the side. As a child he was quite smitten with her then the 7 year gap gave him a chance to age to be along side her now instead of a kid. "If only I was actual help... I'm not a dragon slayer" he said looking down at his hands then holding his side where the bandage were. Tears fell.

"No one said you had to be." Charle said sitting up. She flew over to Wendy and sat next to her. "Wendy doesn't care about what magic you do. It's obvious you care for her. I can say I know she cares for you. Why else would be in this state. She was determined to get you out safely. What happened is not your fault Romeo. You are only children... You will grow in to your magic more".

"Yes but look at the difference already... She can fight, heal, enchant, and take on much harder enemies" he said, " I just want to help her... maybe some day take care of-" He stopped abruptly.

"Take care of her?" Charle said. "Care can come in many forms Romeo. You don't have to always punch threw things to care for someone. I know you idolize Natsu.. but even he has realized there is more to caring for his team and Lucy than just always taking down an enemy. Wendy is unsure of herself. She requires support. Someone who will partner with her and be there to catch her when she stumbles."

"...thanks Charle" Romeo said beaming.

"Of course you both are only 14.. you don't need to be thinking about these things right now" she said sternly.

"Ro-Ro-Romeo" Wendy said in her sleep.

"She's in your hands. I need to go check on Happy" Charle said flying out. Romeo nodded and held Wendy's hand his face bright red.

Oh to be young and in love...

Wendy POV

"I was out how long?" I asked as Cana came in with some food.

"About two days" she said placing the tray on my lap. "Romeo has been here every day as well. Poor guy he's felt horrible that this happened to you."

"Romeo?? How is he? Is he alright?" I asked. Images flooded my mind has his blood spilled from his abdomen. Him groaning as he fell to the ground.

"He's alright. He'll be here shortly. He's been coming every day around this time anyway. He'll be thrilled to see you awake. Cute kid... " She smiled.

After the 7 year gap and we returned to Fairy Tail I had notice how much he had changed. We both were kids when I got trapped on that island but when I came back he was suddenly a teenager like me. Charle seems to think he has a crush on me. He is kinda cute...I thought.

"Wendy! You're awake!" He said rushing in. Giving me a big hug. My face turned pink when he let go. His tinted red.

"ahh young Lo-" Cana started.

"CANA!!!" He yelled.

"Hai Hai... I've got a new barrel of booze I wanted to try anyway... be good" she winked.

"Are you alright Romeo-Kun?" I asked staring at his side.

"Oh.. yeah your teacher fixed me right up. I'm not 100% but I'll be okay" he smiled scratching the back of his head.

"Here take this off I can heal you." I said tugging at his vest.

"Whoa. Wendy I'm okay, you need to rest. I hear that big one tore your back up pretty good." He said smiling. Suddenly a hot burn ached in my back. Tears welled in my eyes. "Wendy...what is wrong" he asked looking at me.

"It... hurts... I didn't notice it before. It's burning..." I said gritting my teeth.

"I'll go get-"

"Heal.." I said reaching around to my back. Healing the incisions along it. The wounds closing. I felt relief instantly.

"That's so cool Wendy. I hear you took out like 40 of those Lizard men.." Romeo said, " I'm sorry. If I hadn't of gotten attacked, we would have finished that request and you wouldn't be in here".

"I don't think we would have finished that request without help. Before I blacked out the big one had more of his children come. If not for Laxus I wouldn't have made it back." I smiled. "Is Charle and Laxus okay?"

"Yeah everyone is fine..." He said. "Wendy.. uh.. when you are better you think maybe we could go on more jobs together?" He asked turning pink.

I nodded and blushed. What is wrong with me... my heart is beating so fast.

"Ooooooo you like each other" Happy said. I now know why Lucy would turn pink when Happy said that about her and Natsu.

"Stupid cat" Romeo said his face bright red. "Wen-Wen-Wendy just le-le-let me know okay! I'm glad you alright!" He stammered then quickly leaned forward and kissed my cheek. "Bye" he said running for the door his bright smile with him.

"Bye..." I said as my heart pounded in my chest.

"Looks Ike our little Wendy has met a boy..." Cana said to Charle.

"Oh dear.." Charle said.
