Hey everyone! I know it's kinda early for a chapter but hey why not I have spare time and I'm bored. I have an awesome few chapters coming up for you all that will make some people very excited for what's to come(i hope) It makes me very excited at the very least. Anyways the mods for ffn have come back. Hey, mods I'm new here but hello if you see this! *waves* Okay now that's out of the way I think it's time to address the main issue here from the last chapter. Naruto's learning. Yeah, I'm going to have a tough time with that for the most part. I will have him learn from books for the first time but next time someone will teach him what he went to that location for. Now since there will have to be a story. I need to come up with a villain or a goal for this part of the *travel* arc.

Also, I am nervous about writing some characters. Could you all tell me if I'm doing good, please? I need to know someone else's opinion. Maybe I should get a beta reader to help me with this...

Anyways (the title of this chapter really gives a lot away but I digress) Entering the desert sands BEGIN! (Also this chapter is kind of short by the way and it is mostly a set up chapter)

Hokage's office.

*"sigh* Naruto then used a seamless sealless speechless kawarimi with you and he shunshined away," Hiruzen said. He just couldn't believe it but he had to. Naruto had escaped from a sannin and Anbu's best operatives.

"Yes sensei," Jiraya said dejectedly. He failed again to bring Naruto home. But he wouldn't let that get him down for long.

"Then he ran into a bunch of Danzo's root and that's when your team showed up and he ran away to an unknown location" By this point after hearing what naruto managed to do hiruzen questioned the competency of his shinobi. He also had a little root problem to take care of later but for now, he needed to ream out jiraiya and the rest of the anbu. If this is what the best could do, maybe they all needed to be put under better training. Maybe he was getting soft after all.

"Yes sensei. We should have just captured him instead of testing him" Jiraya said looking down now he hates it when hiruzen used this voice. He sounded like a disappointed father to him.

Hiruxen sighed again taking a puff from his pipe. "You did what you could do at the time. We didn't know how much of "its" power he could use at the time. But we now have more information for the next time" Hiruzen stated, trying to lift up jiraya a little bit. He felt bad for his student. He still had Asuma and Konohamaru with him. Jiraya had nobody other than him anymore.

Jiraya looked up. "Next time? He was like a scared animal sensei! He was hiding for 6 years. Who's to say he won't go back into hiding again?" Jiraya said. He saw the fear in Naruto's eyes. Fear of them and konoha. He wanted to bring Naruto home but... he didn't know if they could find him again.

"Jiraiya he most likely isn't even in the land of fire anymore. But if he has been hiding for 6 years he will want to go somewhere. We don't know where exactly but we know he will be somewhere soon. Have your spy network be on the lookout for him. We can't give up hope this soon after just finding him again" Hiruzen said. Maybe it was that he was just hopeful but he had a feeling naruto wouldn't go back into hiding yet. Not until he did what he wanted at least. And it seems like he didn't get what he wanted yet.

"Your right sensei, We can't give up hope yet" Jiraya looked back up a fire lit in his eyes. "I will go out and look for him right away," Jiraya said, getting ready to leap out the window.

"No jiraya. I have a different mission for you" Hiruzen said. He was getting old he needed a successor soon and he knew who to ask for the job

"But sensei. You really have a mission to give me more important than finding naruto?" Truth be told, Jiraiya knew what his sensei wanted to ask.

"Yes, Jiraiya. We both know I'm getting up there in age. Would-" Before Hiruzen could finish he was cut off by Jiraiya.

"No, absolutely not. I don't want that thrice-damned hat and all the paperwork that comes with it" Jiraya said. Being Hokage wasn't his dream. He was a free spirit

Hiruzen quickly glanced at the paperwork stack on his desk. It had tripled in size. Hiruzen resisted the urge to scream "As much as I would love for you to take the hat. I know you wouldn't take it even if I begged you to. I want you to find Tsunade and bring her back. We need her back for other reasons as well" Truth be told after Tsunade left the village the village's medical program went downhill quite fast.

"You do realize there is a better chance of naruto waltzing back here and saying he was back from vacation than her coming back," Jiraya said. He was right but Hiruzen was seriously tired of his job.

"Yes I do, but I need a successor soon. I don't know how much longer these frail old bones will last me jiraiya" hiruzen said glaring at the stack of paperwork in front of him

"I see but why not Kakashi? He's good enough for the hat" Jiraya asked

"He would be a fine choice. But he is still not ready at the moment. I plan on giving him a genin team in a few weeks. He needs something to cheer him up a little bit" Hiruzen stated.

"I see sensei. Well I'm off now I guess" Jiraya jumped from the window and left to go beg Tsunade to come back. But before that some last minute research was needed

"USAGI, GET ME KAKASHI HATAKE " Hiruzen shouted. He wanted to make sure the masked man was okay. Seeing the blond not want to come home must have hurt him quite a bit. He also needed to inform him of his new teacher role in a few weeks

Suddenly a man with silver gravity-defying hair in Konoha's standard jonin uniform entered

"You called?" Kakashi asked. He was reading a little orange book called icha icha paradise. He was also giggling

"Yes I did Kakashi, I wanted to check on your mental health," Hiruzen said

"I'm fine" Kakashi lied smoothly.

"We both know you're not. Kakashi don't lie. I don't want to send you out on any more missions until I know you are okay" Hiruzen said.

Kakashi sighed. "Truth be told. I'm miserable. We were so close to capturing Naruto, so close to returning him home. But he escaped at the last second and we don't know where he is located anymore '' Kakashi said a rain cloud forming over his head and raining on him.

"You're right we don't but you shouldn't give up hope so easily kakashi. We will find him one day and we will bring him back to where he belongs. home" Hiruzen said

"I see, is there anything else?" Kakashi asked changing the subject.

"Actually yes there is. you're going to be leading a team of genin in a few weeks!" Hiruzen said.

"Wait what!"

ROOT HQ

"I see. These are some interesting developments. We might need to use more forceful methods than just a basic capture if the weapon can use the beast's chakra. DISMISSED" Danzo said. Some of the new developments in this situation were good, others were bad like his fear of coming back to konoha. But the good ones were really good. His skills in evasion and his access to the Kyuubi's chakra could benefit the great tree from the roots under them. But he needed to get rid of hiruzen soon. With his trying to capture the weapon for himself and the good of konoha he exposed root by not being more careful.

He looked toward his tools waiting for their response

"YES DANZO SAMA" squads 3 and 4 said. He would send squads to different villages to look for the weapon soon but he figured for his told to be in top condition they needed to rest for a little while

Now he just needed to deal with this paperwork. Even he had to do it. Nobody escapes paperwork.

Naruto pov

"I'm definitely nowhere near takigakure am I?" Naruto asked himself. It was a rhetorical question. He was in the desert. Nowhere near green trees. Not that he minded. Anything that reminded him of his past sucked for him. But he wanted to be at taki at the moment learning how to make sure he wouldn't die if he got stabbed. 'Eh why not I'm already here I might as well grab a few books and better equipment' naruto thought to himself. Whilst he would have preferred to be at taki, he could at least get a headstart on different projects of his.

Naruto walked further into the sand. He was low on stamina. all of that shunshining and kawariming himself really did a number on him. But he needed to escape, he needed to get stronger so he could fight them off instead of running away. He was just lucky that the blank masked shinobi and the anbu/jiraiya were against each other. If they weren't he wouldn't have been able to get away at all.

'I should find a town' Naruto thought. He was tired, thirsty, and sweating. He would find someplace to sleep and someplace to eat at. It was getting dark and cold.

Luckily for Naruto, a town was just up ahead. He could buy a map hopefully.

Naruto then quickly entered the town to go find the nearest ramen stand. He was hungry and he was hungry for ramen.

50 minutes later.

"Ahh that hit the spot now I need to go find a hotel," Naruto thought. He was tired and he had a full belly. He would finish the trek to suna in the morning. He needed to get started on his fuinjutsu training right away. He would also like to see if he could get started learning how to use a sword, he didn't know if he would use one but he needed to learn. Also, anything else he could find would be useful too. Anything would help. He just needed to be strong enough to beat jigen.

Naruto got the key from a clerk to hotel room 115 "Be careful people who enter that room don't come out the same" the clerk said but naruto thought it was a hoax. unless there was some sort of zombie in there he would be fine.

Naruto just laid down on his temporary bed. He had a lot to think about and a lot of things he needed to do. So much to learn, so little time.

Naruto's thoughts then wandered off from killing jigen, he hasn't really been able to relax for long. He hasn't been able to think about what he wanted to do if not when he killed jigen. He wanted to have friends, a family, and children. But he needed to eliminate jigen first so none of them would be in danger... But he couldn't fight jigen alone, as much as he would love to not bring anyone into it he needed the help of others, Strong capable people. He couldn't only find trustworthy people to join him. He would need to start an entire group no an organization to help him. Not big in number though. He just needed a name, Ultimis or Primis were his main choices. He didn't know why but those names sounded good to him.

Naruto only wanted the organization... more like a team. 4 four 5 people in size including him. But he would also gather allies (friends really but naruto didn't want to call them that until it was all over) He would need to go around to different villages and "recruit" people to join him. It would be tricky to convince some people to give up their loyalty but hey who said it would be easy?

Maybe he could get the help of the five great nations? but that would be too hard to do, So a only few people would be good enough as he wanted.

But they needed to be strong too.

'Looks like my thoughts drifted' Naruto thought after realizing he wasn't really thinking about peaceful thoughts anymore. Killing jigen had nearly consumed his thought process for the last day or so. But he couldn't let it consume him. No, he would survive even if he didn't kill him. Not just that but he'd thrive!

Blissful sleep then took naruto.

Hey everyone! sorry about the short chapter but I couldn't think of anything for this one really other than setting up an exposition for later events. Anyways I hope you enjoyed it as I did even though this chapter was kinda short. I intended it to be longer but I couldn't think of anything that wasn't bs to get two characters to meet (no not for a ship) but that will come next chapter/later this week. Who knows I might write it tomorrow when I feel like it.

Anyways I know this chapter is almost a thousand words shorter than the last one and I'm sorry but writing about Danzo and Jiraiya's depression isn't something I have experience writing at this moment so I need to practice. Also, how were the characters, were they good or were they bad? I hope not but I will hopefully get better in time. I just want you all to enjoy this.
