So I have an honest inquiry here. Why are there so few Earth-Remnant fics out there? Not a Terran goes to Remnant, more like the two civilizations of two planets meet sort of fics. Would be cool to see more of them, perhaps have season 1 RWBY meeting the present nations of Earth. Or maybe instead of just a bunch of teens trying to deal with Remnant, it's the entirety of NATO. Actually, there was one fic where an expanded NATO invades Vale during the end of Season 3, but it was taken down. Shame. Might consider writing one later.

Either way, I'm rambling. Here's the next chapter, enjoy.

Infirmary, Beacon Academy

March 19th, 80 AGW

Two pairs of silver eyes stared at each other. One with the innocence of a cute dog but the determination to aid those in need and experience in the dangerous wildlife of Remnant. The other being a veteran of the greatest war in the galaxy and the survivor of many things, but scarred for life.

"Ruby….?" David croaked out, emotions raging through his head.

"Garnet?" Ruby blabbered out, tears leaking from her eyes.

"I…I…" David was speechless. He was pretty sure that father (Admiral Shepard) didn't have to deal with mysterious family relations when he was trying to kill the Reapers. What the hell was David supposed to say?

And was he a Shepard or a Rose? David or Garnet? The Huntsman wannabe or the Marine? A citizen of Remnant or Rannoch/Earth?

"Garnet….You came back." Ruby stuttered through the sobs.

"This can't be real. I'm dead, or some messed up Prothean dream." David's head was spinning with emotions. Fear, joy, confusion, his memories blurring into each other. Patch, Rannoch, Beacon, Earth, Tikkun, Remnant, Vale…Ruby and Yang.

"Garnet, you're home. You came back." Ruby sobbed through the tears.

David promptly grabbed RUby and embraced his twin/younger sister, releasing emotions and stress that was built out in the N-6 since he was found on Earth.

For a few minutes, David openly cried on his sibling's shoulder. He was home.

Ozpin's office, the same time

Ozpin stared out the window of his office, overlooking Beacon itself. It was a sight that brought him calmness and pride, his work for Beacon ballooning into something grand for his fight with Salem.

And now it was doing some calmness and giving the old headmaster a respite on his new conundrum: Garnet.

After removing his armour (something that was accomplished with the brilliant application of electric dust thanks to Professor Peach), Ozpin himself went through Garnet's gear to figure out what had happened to the son of Tai and Summer.

There was no scroll, no mecha-shifting weapons, not even a speck of dust, nothing that would indicate where on Remnant Garnet went.

However what Ozpin found were a number of old-fashioned photos and what appeared Dog Tags. Those were what indicated that something was amidst.

One of the pictures was of two dozen individuals posing in what was reminiscent of the jungles of Menagerie or the forests of Mistral. Some carried weird-looking pistols in holsters on their hips, others with glowing swords/blades from their wrists, some wore full armour, others wore just T-shirts and sweatpants. But there was one fact that had Ozpin spitting out his Hot Cocoa.

3 quarters of the figures weren't Human. 3 massive reptilian-like creatures with three figures per hand, 6 tall, bird-like, metallic-seeming birds, 4 blue-skinned humans with tentacles in place of hair, and 5 Humanoids wearing suits. There were only 6 Humans, with a younger-looking Garnet sitting on top of one of the big reptilian aliens carrying a flag on a pole. Said flag was of some sort of arch with 3 stars underneath. Despite many looking like they had run a marathon and some bearing scars of recent fights, everyone looked proud and happy. At the bottom of the photo was a single sentence.

In Faith we Conquer, who dares wins. ~ N-1 Graduation class Bravo 2-6, Rio De Janeiro, Human Systems Alliance, 2202 AD

Ozpin spent many long minutes staring at the photo, before quietly returning it to Garnet's armour. Then the Headmaster caught a glimpse at his dog tags and immediately knew something was off. Instead of the name Garnet Rose, in its place was the following:

Shepard

David Z.

Rannoch and Earth

03210070 AB+

Again, Ozpin stared at the tags like it was an alien artifact (in hindsight, it probably was one). David, not Garnet, the name David was on tags. And Shepard, not Rose. And the Z? Ozpin recalled that Garnet didn't have a middle name.

Summer remarked that Garnet, according to the villagers, referred to himself as a biotic, an N-6, and a member of clan Zorah. Clan Zorah, there wasn't an organization or clan with the name Zorah on Remnant.

And the names: All of them look eldritch and mysterious as the name Zorah. Earth, Rannoch, Zorah, Rio De Janeiro, the millenia-old headmaster had never heard of such places. And the Human Systems Alliance? What in the brother gods was this Systems Alliance?

Ozpin came to the conclusion that Garnet had some sort of amnesia and lost his memories of Remnant. The final nail in the coffin is a single photo of 5 individuals. One was Garnet, with his new purple and blue hair paint, but with the scars being more notable. Standing next to him on his left was one of the three-fingered suited aliens with a blue non-transparent visor that obscured their face and only glowing eyes could be seen. Her suit was mostly of a blue, red, and black colour scheme, a. And she was smaller than Garnet, looping her arm around his arm. Standing on Garnet's right was one of the Metallic bird-like creatures standing tall and having blue and purple face paint on its mouth. Or was it Cheek? He-they stood taller than Garnet and had it's arm over his neck.

And behind them, embracing the three were two adults, a purple-suited alien with a purple visor and a mostly purple suit, and a Human who's light brown hair was cut very short (very close to being bald), had brown eyes, and was tall, very tall standing at 6 foot 3 or over 190 centimetres tall. All of the non suited aliens were smiling. And on the back of the photo, there was some writing:

We stood strong against the Reapers, now we stand higher. Keelah Se'Lah ~ David, Reala, Juso, Tali, and John Zorah Shepard.

"Summer is going to break down," Ozpin muttered as he remembered how badly she reacted when she found out that it was Garnet who she attacked. Now the headmaster had a feeling of dread of thinking about the senior Rose when she learned that Garnet had essentially become a new person.

There was one more photo that caught Ozpin's attention. One with Garnet posing with another suited alien. Both were carrying rifles in slings, with Garnet carrying the same rifle he did when he fought against Summer and Qrow (the Mattock M-96C). The alien was carrying some sort of giant tubular weapon that looked downright ugly (in context, the Quarian is carrying the ADA anti-synthetic rifle). Garnet was also wearing straight up blue armour with the same arc with three stars (He's wearing the same armour as Alliance marines do in ME 3). At the bottom of the photo was a single line.

Shepards and Reegars, marines kicking bosh'tets across the galaxy. Semper Fi.

"Garnet Rose, what have you been up to?" Ozpin sighed. He was getting way too old for this. He was starting to understand why both Qrow and Ironwood carried a flash of alcohol on them.

That was when his computer beeped. "Headmaster Ozpin? This is Doctor Wilson. The Patient Garnet Rose is awake!"

The Headmaster stood up. "Very well. I will be down there. Alert the rest of the Rose family."

"Will do." and the comms link went dead. Ozpin opened up his scroll and contacted Professor Goodwitch. "Glynda? Clear any meetings I have for today. It appear that our long lost friend has awoken."

Time to solve another mystery. Ozpin thought

The Infirmary, a few minutes later

Despite what it felt for an eternity for the two silver-eyed humans, only a few had ticked by. But in those two minute, the pair had unloaded a waterfall of emotions. They held onto each other for several minutes on end before ending the embrace.

Ruby gazed upon her brother. If one were to look at the two, you could say that Garnet was a carbon copy of Ruby but male, ten years older, taller, and have a number of light facial scars. That and his comparatively short hair that was combed down and it had blue and purple paint in place of the red Ruby would have put.

"Garnet…where did you go? Why didn't you come home?" Ruby sniffled, briefly forgetting she was a proud student of Beacon Academy.

Garnet laughed bitterly. "Long story. Too long."

That was when the door kicked open. "GARNET!" For a brief second, it appeared that Remnant had a second person with the same semblance as the Red Reaper. The two 'twins' squeaked as Yang cannonballed the pair on the hospital bed, crashing on top of them and bending the bed.

"Air!" Ruby gasped as she struggled to breathe while being crushed between her busty blond sister and her older/twin brother. Oh gods, this was awkward as her head was being treated to the marshmallow he-

"Garnet! I'm so sorry I- Wah, waitwaitwait who brother gods what the hell!?" Yang exclaimed as suddenly a purple field enveloped her body and she was lifted from the bed and her siblings. And then unceremoniously dropped on in a heap.

"Bad Yang. Try not to crush your brother." Garnet/David growled as he dumped Yang onto the infirmary floor with his biotics.

"Garnet!" Yang briefly scrowled before leaping back onto the hospital bed and crushing the two occupants. This time, Garnet/David gave up and succumbed to his fate of being sandwiched by his sisters.

Garnet sighed. And then he noticed four other occupants entering the room.

"Mom? Dad?" Garnet murmured, not believing his eyes.

"Garnet!" Summer, whose face was dripping with tears, petal bust her way to the hospital bed and scoops up all three of her children. Despite Garnet being taller and stronger than anyone in the room (thanks to years of genetic therapy, military workouts, and Earth), he was still forced to endure his biological mother's embrace. Not that any of the rose family minded.

"Never letting you, you will stay here as my baby," Summer declared as she began to tightened her embrace. Here, Garnet/David Rose/Shepard, a once proud marine and N-6, gave into his emotions and began sobbing into his biological mother's arms. "Let it out sweetie, you're safe now."

The big hunk of muscle that was Tai joined in and for the first time in many years, the Rose-Xiao Long family was reunited.

After a few more minutes of sobbing, the Rose/Xiao long family released Garnet-David…he'll figure out his permanent name later. However Ruby and Summer were still clinging on.

"Garnet?" Summer whispered with concern. "Where did you get these scars?" Referring to his facial and arm scars.

Garnet went silent, then spoke: "I got dropped into a warzone."

His family stared at him and Garnet mentally prepared himself for the bombshell he was about to unleash on his family.

It was going to be a long day.

Meanwhile, at some White Fang hideout

Adam Tarus, the leader of the White Fang Vale Branch, stared at his lieutenant, Bane. "Explain."

"The mission to recruit new members from the Village of Horizon has failed. Someone intervened and killed our entire party. Then one of our smaller outposts went silent, killed by the sae individual." Bane said, anger seething from his voice.

"A huntsman?" Adam asked.

"If he's one, he's both good, well armed, and extremely powerful. He wears black armour with blue and purple stripes. His weapon went right through the men's aura. And he wields some sort of power that incapcitiated and killed our brothers and sisters." Bane grunted.

Adam growled. Another fool in the way of his plans. "Do we know anything else?"

"Only that he disappeared after fighting our brothers in Horizon and at the Camp a few dozen kilometres away. No one has ever seen him so he's unlikely to be a Huntsman." Bane replied.

"I see. Have everyone know about this newcomer. Now what about the status of our operations?"

"Word of our recruitment efforts has reached authorities. Scouts are reporting at least a new Huntsman or Huntress in many of the bigger villages. Getting new recruits will be difficult on the frontier." Bane explained. "We should refocus our efforts on the big cities. Torchwick has also delivered another supply of Dust. We may be ready before the end of the summer."

"Very well. That is all. Return to your people. We will be ready to strike another blow to the Humans." Adam grimmly smiles. "We will make every single Human pay for their crimes."

Little did he know that in the future, he and the White Fang would piss off more than just Humanity.

Codex….Alliance Navy

The first line of defence for the Human Systems Alliance, the Alliance Space Navy is one of the best equipped and trained naval formations in the galaxy. Starting off as an exploration formation to discover new worlds for the nations of Earth, it was the Alliance Navy that resulted in the Human victory over the Turian patrol fleet that attacked Shanxi. It has won a number of victories including the liberation of Elysium and the Battle of Torfon during the Pre-Reaper War Era. It would be the Alliance 5th fleet that would save the Asari Dreadnaught Destiny Ascension and the Citadel Council, at the cost of 7 Cruisers and several frigates, a loss that would hamper the fifth fleet during the Reaper War. After the Reaper War, the Alliance Navy, alongside the Marines and the tattered remains of Earth's national militaries, would be one of the few things binding the bruised Alliance and was instrumental in its recovery.

Currently, the Alliance navy is split into 10 fleets and adds up to a total of 3194 ships carrying the Alliance banners. Of which, 2300 of them are combat vessels. With both the Salarians and Asari dealing with internal political issues, the Alliance stepped up to fill in the gaps with a major expansion of its forces. It owns the third largest collection of capital ships (Dreadnaughts and carriers) behind the Turians and Rannochian Coalition. The fleet has also seen the introduction of a number of other classes; chiefly being battlecruisers, assault transports, destroyers, and a few experimental arsenal ships. These ships, alongside the various training, defensive, intelligence, and shipbuilding installations, are crewed by roughly 30 million servicemen and women. The Alliance Navy also commands the Alliance Marine Corps and the Alliance Starfighter corps. The former has a total strength of 300 Million active duty combat troops and the latter operates a fighter force of number in the tens of thousands.

(Also note that the Alliance currently retains a reserve and mothball fleet of around 600 vessels. Much of these ships date back to the Skyllian Blitz, the Human-Turian first contact war, and even ships from other species collected during the Reaper war, primarily Asari and Cerberus vessels that are not worth the cost of integrating into active services but too valuable for scrapping).

Currently, the Alliance navy's headquarters is based in the SeaTacVan Metroplex (a mega city formed from the cities of Tacoma, Vancouver, and Seattle. The New Arcturus Station, a station similar to that of Bastion station but smaller in size, is also considered the main forward fleet headquarters of the alliance, though purely dedicated to military and trade matters as the Alliance capital is still on Earth, in the city of Makala. While the Navy still follows the old doctrine of stationing forces at certain relays for rapid counterattacks, it has put a higher emphasis on Frigate and destroyer groups being the first line of defence against incoming attacks. Though much of the fleet is armed with Pre-War developed mass Accelerators, Thanix cannons, Guardian Lasers, and Disruptor torpedoes, the navy has reintroduced missile ships in vast quantities and is beginning the production of Particle Beam Weaponry. The Alliance navy is also a key supporter of non-Eezo FTL and its engineers are working on making afford drives alongside the Coalition.

Alliance Fleets and locations:

1st fleet: Station in the Sol System, based out of Earth and Luna. Reconstituted and reinforced after the Reaper War, this fleet has seen limited action and mostly patrols Sol and her core colonies. Centred around the dreadnought SSV Yellowstone and the carrier SSV Charles Darwin

2nd fleet: Stationed at the New Arcturus station and famous for Admiral Drecher's counterattack in the Relay 314 incident but sacrificed to save the 3rd and 5th fleets during Reaper War, the 2nd fleet was reconstituted as a extremely mobile fleet that is meant to react to situations quickly, with much of its force made up by frigates and destroyers. Centred around the Dreadnaught SSV Black Tusk and the carrier SSV Thomas Eddison.

3rd Fleet: One of the few fleet formations to survive the Reaper War intact, the third fleet is also stationed at the New Arcturus Station and retains a mixed formation of dreadnaughts, cruisers, frigates, destroyers, and carriers. Centred around the dreadnought SSV Logan and carrier SSV Hawking

4th fleet: The Fourth Fleet was once considered the Earth defence fleet but was swept away by the Reapers when they descended onto Earth. Reconstituted after the war, the 4th is stationed at the world of Amaterasu and guards the Amaterasu Fleet Depot. It's forces are primarily a cruiser formation. Centred around the Dreadnaught SSV Denali and the carrier SSV Marie Curie

5th Fleet: Considered to be the most famous formation in the Alliance navy, the 5th was based at both Arcturus station (the first one) and the Citadel before the Reaper War. Now it is based out of Bastion station, the new galactic centre. It's been reinforced to be a primarily dreadnought and battlecruiser heavy formation. Centred around the dreadnought SSV Orizaba and the Carrier SSV Hawking.

6th Fleet: Station at Terra Nova, the Alliance's biggest colony, the 6th fleet is a balanced formation of cruisers, frigates, destroyers, battlecruisers, and a dreadnought. It was one of the Alliance's few formations to not be mauled during the opening stages of the Reaper War. Centred around the Dreadnaught SSV Tai shan and the Carrier SSV Terekhova.

7th Fleet: Stationed at Eden Prime, the one of the core agri world of the Alliance, the 7th is a cruiser heavy formation with a large variety of cruiser sub-types such as missile, artillery, carrier, and beam cruisers. Centred around the dreadnought SSV Kilimanjaro and the Carrier SSV Benjamin Davis.

8th Fleet: Though initially spared the Reaper onslaught in the early days, the 8th fleet was decimated when the Reapers attacked Ontarom. Restored to full strength and stationed at the world of Joab (one of the major worlds where Refugees were housed), the 8th fleet is primarily a force composed of destroyers, frigates, and light cruisers. Centred around the Dreadnaught SSV Mount Cypress and the Carrier SSV Ark Royal (the first carrier to break the traditional Alliance naming structure).

9th Fleet: An extremely unusual formation, this fleet is based at Rannoch as apart of the new Coalition-Alliance partnership that flourished after the Reaper War. It's a joint Rannochian-Terran formation consisting of ships from Humanity, the Quarians, the Geth, and a few Turian ships who act as observers. It's a primarily training formation where crews come here to gain experience and knowledge. It's also considered, by some, a dumping ground for older vessels as it has the biggest collection of Pre-Eden Prime War vessels. However Alliance and Coalition engineers take pride in maintaining these vessels to the standard of the rest of the Alliance. Centred around the Dreadnaught SSV Matterhorn and the refitted Liveship/support carrier RCS Shellen. Interesting note is that the fleet is under honorary command of Admirals John Shepard and Tali Zorah Shepard but is actually under command of Admiral Woodward.

10th Fleet: the newest formation of the Alliance navy, the 10th fleet is stationed at the world of Victorious, one of the Alliance's main shipbuilding worlds. It's a rather heavy carrier formation with 1 of the Alliance's Supercarriers, the Sagan herself, 2 Terekhova class fleet carriers, and 2 dozen assorted cruiser carriers. It's considered the opposite of the 9th fleet and a testing bed for newer vessels. Centred around the Supercarrier SSV Sagan, soon to be replaced by the new supercarrier SSV Punic.
