The moment Legolas heard the cry of the gull, he knew he was fated to sail to Valinor yet the peace he found there made his heart ache. He wasn't able to resist the sea-longing but now his soul was being pulled back toward the trees on Middle-Earth. Legolas no longer feels attachment to the home of his kin and he sets sail to the East. Yet his home is not the same as it once was.

Aragorn is a boy running away from his heritage. Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin are the first proper wizards of the Shire since Bilbo Baggins himself. Boromir is trying to uphold the family honor. Gimli really wants to play quiditch. And Legolas just wants to move freely without his father breathing down his back. Luckily, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome them home.

When Voldemort and Sauron combine Hogwarts with Middle-Earth, Harry Potter and his friends accompany Frodo and Sam to Mount Doom to destroy the ring. This will return their two worlds to normal. Or at least as normal as such places get.
