The boy was trusted enough to be home alone for a few hours by the whole gang, although Loona is having doubts since she loves Cody so much and he was her adopted brother now. Alas, Cody had weapons and one gun to help protect himself from any threats, and he can just probably shoot down any bad guys that can try to hurt or kill him. After all most people would think twice about attacking an armed human with a gun in his hand. What Cody knew that, if he was going to shoot an attacker, he always goes for the brain, since brains are the batteries of all animals.
Although another good alternative, Cody knew this one as well, was going through the heart, which is like the second battery to an organism. He might have not as trained as much as his new sister and his new cohorts, but he was slowly getting the hang of combat.
Loona and Blitzo' apartment was probably the safest place for Cody to be in all of Hell, and it was the only kind of safehaven he knew of (along with Stolas' palace, Moxxie and Millie's apartment, and the Happy Hotel since he is friends with Charlie and her cronies.) Moxxie and Millie were in on the mission to kill Beyonce, and Stolas was in a royal affair with Satan right now, and couldn't watch the boy, and he had to take Octavia with her. As for Charlie and her friends; the hotel was unusually packed with a lot of visitors right now, and unfortunately, they were too busy to watch Cody as well. But Cody was nine, and nine and all he had to do was keep himself secluded from many of the inhabitants of Hell for obvious reasons. As of now, he was playing video games and enjoying himself as he was home alone.
He got into the fridge and got himself a hibiscus juice from the fridge and an empty glass, getting the ice cubes from the freezer and pouring in his juice into the glass to enjoy himself with it. After about half an hour, he got bored and looked up in the ceiling, wondered about how his brother would think about being adopted by a hellhound. Maybe he would like it, or he probably would not. But he joined the French Foreign legion, and it's not really his place.
"Silence can be golden, Cody." said a warming voice. The kid bolted up, startled by it, and he had a look of relief to see the glowing face of Jesus, smiling and having his hands crossed in front of him. "My sincere apologies if i startled you, young one." he noted.
"No, it's ok, Jesus." Cody said.
"Mind if I sit with you, Cody?"
"No, no, go ahead."
The Lion of Judah did just that and sat next to him. "I noticed you are getting good with the axes and that firearm you have on you."
"But you don't mind if I have these weapons?"
"As long as you only use them as instruments of self-defense, or if you really have to use them." Jesus pointed, "I am perfectly alright. After all, many of the folk inhabiting Hell are not the... best kind of company to mingle with."
"Right. But i'm still learning to use them. Not the easiest things to hold. At least I am not up there trying to kill Beyonce."
"I know, and i'm glad you are not taking part in such barbaric acts." said Jesus. "And, i am glad Loona adopted you."
"Me too. But i would like to know about her family since she doesn't really like to talk about it with me."
Jesus couldn't help but frown. "You know, Cody," he said: "some things are better left unheard of, and perhaps it is best if you not know about Loona's past at all... not saying I know about it, and i am keeping secrets from you, but some things are better left forgotten."
"Yeah, you're right." then another thought struck Cody. "What about Mr. Belmond? He calls himself a child of God, but he seems like a very bitter person."
"Ah, him. I do love everyone, but what I do not love is a bible thumper committing atrocities under my name or my father. Those kind of people are some of the greatest hypocrites in existence. Let me tell you about a very person similar to him." he paused. "His name was Jim Jones and he called himself a child of me or my father, but he manipulated a horde of people and created a small town in his name called Jonestown. He even ordered his followers into drinking poison Kool-aid and they all committed suicide."
"What?" Cody said in disbelief. "That's horrible. Why would that happen?"
"Some people like Jones are extremely wicked. And i can assure you Jones is down here paying for his crimes he had done while he was alive."
"Good." said Cody.
"But all in all, i wouldn't worry about him. Times have changed and a lot of people don't like Belmond either. You are not the only one, Cody. It is best to ignore his type."
"OK. I get why many people don't like him. He thinks he is the most pure guy in the world, but he is just very bitter."
"Indeed. But many people like him get their retribution on judgement day when they pass. They always do."
"Good. So about the exorcists, will they get me?"
"No, of course not." said Jesus. "And if they do get rid of many demons down here, it is nothing personal. It is only for population control, not out of malice." Jesus reassured him. "And to be fair... i don't know if I approve of the methods those angels do on the demons. They seem to forget that many creatures down here are not condemned souls who committed sins and not repent for them." he looked the other way from the kid. "I mean, i am thinking of talking to my father about their methods. And about using more humane tactics for population control."
"They sound terrifying."
"Well, I wouldn't say terrifying, they just look... unnerving as a better word." Jesus said. "But it is best you stay clear of them at all costs. And if they do another... population control event, always stay indoors until the event is over."
"Noted."
"Just be careful down here as always, Cody." Jesus gave the kid a tender kiss and he slowly began to vanish. "Never be afraid to call upon me again." His voice echoed before he was gone completely.
Now Cody was alone again, but he was fine. He also had his crucifix just in case his axes or gun didn't work.
Another half hour has passed and as he was watching TV, he saw the news that showed Verosika still in rehab and the reporter telling how her fans were still worried about her and angry that the mental hospital still wouldn't let her go just yet.
As the news ended, there was a knock on the door. Cody was curious and picked up his crucifix just in case it was a hostile demon. He slowly walked on the door and slowly opened it, flashing his cross at whoever it could be.
What he found was... nothing. He wondered if this was a dumb ding-dong ditch prank, which was just very old it wasn't that funny like it was in the old days anymore. "Hello?" He said. No answer. "Hello?" He called again, still no answer. He looked to and fro. At last, Cody decided to give up on who knocked on the door.
Turning around and about to go back to watching TV, he was suddenly startled by a girl hellhound with fur the color of jet, and her eyes like any other Hellhound would have. She had white long hair, and she had white tank top with an Accept band logo on the center.
She also had blue jeans and she looked as old as the human boy and and spiky shoes. Cody yelped as he was startled and he fell back on his back.
The hellhound girl began laughing at his reaction. "That was funny."
Cody pulled out his crucifix and flashed it at the hellhound girl, making her scream and cower in fear from seeing the holy symbol like this. "Who are you!?" Cody demanded. "What do you want? Did Andrealphus send you here?"
"What? No." The Hellhound girl said. "I don't bother with those Goetia pricks anyway. And they probably wouldn't let me hang out with them."
"Look I got a cross and I'm not afraid to use it! I'm friends with Jesus, you know?"
"Hey hey hey, calm down. Just put that thing down."
Looking reluctant, the kid slowly lowered his cross and gave her a suspicious look.
"Thank you." She said. "Look, man, no one sent me. Name's Misty."
"Well what do you want?"
"I heard about you, Cody." Said Misty. "Word goes around her as fast as lightning."
"Right..."
"And I always wanted to meet a human. I never seen one before."
"So you're a regular demon and not a sinner demon?"
"Yep. Obviously."
"I guess you have met me, so you can go now... please?"
"Come on, I don't bite... no pun intended."
"But I know the rule of not really talking to strangers."
"That's for grownups, stupid." Said Misty. "But we're kids and that's an exception." She walked away into Cody's room and the kid tried to stop her.
"You shouldn't go in there." Cody said. "That's my room and... you know, it's private."
What made Cody more alarmed was that she picked up Patrick the pig from the bed and looked at it like she was inspecting it. She then laughed.
"Where did you get this thing?"
"My parents gave that to me." Cody said.
"Oh..." then she looked like she was about to slice the stuffed pig, making Cody scream in horror. Misty laughed again and out the pig back in the bed. "I'm just kidding with you, Cody."
"Not funny." Cody pouted.
"Wanna get a blood burger with me?"
"Loona and Blitzo are not back yet and I've been told not to go out there alone."
"It's not far from here. Please?" The hellhound girl gave him the puppy dog face, and what's worse was that; it was more effective since she is still a kid hellhound. Her lips were quivering and her eyes were watery.
"Oh not the face." Cody Groaned. He sighed and said: "ok, fine." He gave in, making Misty's demeanor change in an instant from sad to happy.
"Cool."
"Just let me get something before my room and I'll meet you out the building."
"That's cool."
While this girl waited outside, Cody put on a nice jacket Loona gave him, and hid his new gun in it. Unfortunately, it was not big enough to support his dual axes.
After that, he got out the front door, locked it, and said: "ok, ready,"
"Ready when you are, goody two-shoes."
He followed her through the corridors and thought to himself; "what have I got myself into?! Loona is going to kill me when she finds out about this!"
