America's pov

Having agreeded to a date with Maxon, I ignored the paperwork I was supposed to do and sat in front of the mirror talking to my maids as they comed my notted hair.

I wore a long dress with puffy sleeves, the colour changing from purple to pink. The layers of tulle almost uncountable.

My makeup like always plain. A necklace complimenting the crown my maids insisted on and of course a my wedding ring. It had two jewels an emerald and a blue topaz, Maxon and my birthday stones.

I sighed in content as my reflection stared back at me, my maids really where to perfect.

I got up from the chair and made my way to the door joining my room to the kings suite . Although it was usually always open I insisted that my appearance should remain a secret from Maxon.

I knocked against the door trying to keep my mind from wandering back back to last time I had knocked on a door belonging to one of Maxon's rooms.

As I scolded myself from remembering that particular event Maxon opened the door, looking more handsome than ever.

He wore one of his many suits and a purple tie , his messy hair completeing the look. I briefly wondered if my maids told him my dress colour so that we could match.

He smiled as his eyes travelled over my dress, " You look stunning my dear."

I swallowed back the frustration before saying, "Still not your dear."

He replied, "Yes you are the dearest of them all so shall we." He ended with his arm held out, waiting for me to except.

I hooked my arm in his and we began walking to the secret date spot.

"Did you just use the word 'shall'?" I asked half mocking and serious at the same time. My heart flattered faster as ge just smiled in reply.

Me being dazzled didn't notice where we were going until the cold air washed onto my face. The garden my favourite place in the whole palace.

A picnic blanket was laid on the grass, LED lights waved into the surrounding grass.

A candle stood in the middle and a basket close by. The aroma of food filled my nose as I gasped at the beauty.

"Maxon it's beautiful. "

We spent the night outside untill almost 2am and when we finally made our way back I decided to address the pack of paper on my desk while Maxon slept.
