Chapter 4- Run Away With Me Into The Night
Chrissy and Eddie song for this chapter,
Rihanna and Mikky Ekko - Stay
It had been a few moments since Chrissy had crash landed to earth again after the ordeal of almost dying in Eddie's trailer!
Through their shared embrace Eddie could feel Chrissy's heart pounding against his and her body was trembling so much that he felt like he was swaying slightly.
The poor girl Eddie had been carrying a torch for all this time was sobbing into his tee shirt uncontrollably and the only thing he could think to do was run his fingers through Chrissy's hair as he pulled her scrunchie off.
The scrunchie fell to the floor with a gentle thud but neither of them noticed as they were both far too consumed in the sensation of the other.
Now Eddie moved his chin to rest gently against Chrissy's head and he swept her even more tightly against his chest.
Eddie knew that she must be freaking out and he wanted her to feel safe until they could talk about this.
Hell even he needed some time to try and calm himself down to process all the crazy shit he had just witnessed.
That was how they both stayed for a few minutes before Eddie shifted slightly in to the hug when his legs started to go numb.
With the sudden change of movement Chrissy finally glanced up at him and the pain etched on her face was killing him.
All over her face tears had streaked a path across her flesh and Eddie instantly brought his hand up to brush them away.
This response from Eddie caused Chrissy to sigh softly at the contact as she began cradling his hand against her cheek.
In this moment Eddie felt fear, fear of not only what had happened but also the alarming fear of how much Chrissy Cunningham actually meant to him now!
This was probably the closest Eddie had ever come for falling for someone and that was also terrifying in a way!
In one day he had literally gone from just reconnecting with Chrissy for the first time in years to almost losing her.
That thought was now one Eddie didn't want to fathom and all he knew was that he would do everything in his power to try and keep her alive.
It had taken all this time until now for Chrissy to fully accept that she was safe from whatever the monster was hunting her in the nightmares.
The memory of the last few minutes was still very hazy due to the adrenaline pumping around her body though.
Chrissy had awoken with a violent jolt before she had tumbled to the ground and it had been a chaotic tangle of limbs at first.
For Chrissy it had just been natural instinct to wrap her arms around Eddie in sheer relief of being alive.
In retrospect she was pretty certain she was experiencing a full blown panic attack and every time she tried to speak Chrissy felt like she was choking and struggling for air.
Chrissy hated feeling this hopeless, she knew she should have stood her ground more to Jason and her mother but she had never been one to give up all hope!
Yet back there in the that nightmare realm Chrissy had literally been frozen in terror and if it wasn't for that song and the door it seemed to open Chrissy never would have got back here.
For a instant Chrissy had panicked when Eddie moved, she was worried that if he let go of her this safe refuge would fade away again!
It made her heart skip a few beats when her eyes finally met his as Eddie took in the sight of her beneath him.
When he brushed her tears from her face Chrissy couldn't recall a time when anyone else had ever tended to her needs this sweetly, not even Jason.
There was time now to try and figure out these unexpected feelings for Eddie Munson but first they both needed to recover from this horrific night.
The sensation of his cold hand against her flushed skin was like heaven and Chrissy leaned in to the soothing touch.
Finally her panic attack was retreating and Chrissy finally could begin to speak.
It was amazing how her voice sounded like a strangers now, as it was so fragile and croaky from all the crying and trauma.
"Mmmm see what I mean when I said I felt like I was going crazy Eddie?"
"I literally was about to press play on the song and then I don't know what happened, one moment I was here in the trailer and then my mum was there in you're room."
"Then my mother changed into this demon thing, her possessed body was hunting me around my house."
"Oh gosh my dad, my poor dad… he was in so much pain and his face was stitched up like Frankenstein!"
"Then I tried to escape by running to my front door but it was boarded up and I was trapped, the monster finally had me in it's clutches."
"Eddie I felt like that was it,I was gone… it told me it was time to die and I knew that this was the end."
"Then I don't know what happened I saw you on the floor screaming and I could hear the song blasting through."
"It must have given me strength to fight back and I thought to myself no I wont go out that way!"
"I hurt it and then I ran for it…next thing I knew I was here on the floor with you Eddie."
"I'm so scared Eddie…I don't know what to do… what am I going to do?"
"How do I stop him coming back for me or my family?"
"I cant go back home in case it comes for me there…I cant let my parents find me dead, I just can't put them though that."
"My friends wont believe it and Jason will think I've lost the plot and wont back me for a second, I know he wont."
"You are the only one I can trust…the only one who has seen what is happening to me first hand."
"Shit Eddie please tell me what to do?…Please just promise me you wont leave me alone again."
"Stay with me"
"Then again perhaps I'm putting you at risk now just being here..I don't want you to get hurt, I don't want anyone to get hurt because of me!"
Chrissy had managed to work herself in a state as she threw her head in her hands struggling to manage her emotions again.
Honestly she really hadn't meant to ramble on so much but the future was looking so scary and all those thoughts just poured out from her.
Poor Eddie hadn't even been able to get a word in as Chrissy was just throwing sentences and questions at him.
It was unsettling as well as Chrissy had never actually seen Eddie Munson looking this worried or scared about anything before.
The guy was literally a ball of confident energy who didn't really seem to ever be fazed by anything.
Eddie was the kind of person who never had a shortage of words to respond with but clearly even he was struggling for the right thing to say.
Thankfully after a minute or so he finally began to speak.
"Ummmm…. Chrissy I mean fuck if I hadn't just seen this with my own eyes… I would think I had just been sleeping and woke up in some nightmare."
"I mean Jesus H Christ you were floating in the air, almost touching the ceiling…completely in a trance!"
"Chrissy I tried so hard to wake you up, I tried it all, I even was slapping your face in desperation but nothing."
"You're eyes were flickering like crazy and you just didn't respond to anything that I was doing."
"I mean I thought you were done for…I was picturing my life in prison as everyone would think I did some devil voodoo crap or something on Chrissy Cunningham!"
"Whatever is going on Chrissy I'm not going to leave you…but I do know I can't bring my uncle into it…he has too much going on and I don't want him to be caught up in this."
"There might be a place we could hide out in for a bit just to try and figure what the hell is going on….but I don't know Chrissy."
"I mean perhaps we need more help, its just me and I don't want something to happen to you again, there might be safety in numbers!"
Chrissy held her hand up to stop Eddie in his tracks now as the poor man was pacing back and fourth speaking a 100 miles a minute now as well.
It seemed like they both definitely expressed their feelings in the same way when they were both freaking out.
Taking a second to try and send a reassuring look his way Chrissy began to try and respond to some of Eddie's questions as she brought him beside her to sit on the couch.
"It's too risky, firstly I don't actually think anyone will believe us, and I mean I don't want you to get hurt either trying to help me Eddie."
"The last thing I want to do is drag more of your friends in to my mess and I know my friends would just think I'm losing my mind."
"Yet honestly Eddie if it wasn't for you and you playing that song I don't think I would have made it out alive!"
"You saved me Eddie, thank you for that… but honestly I wont think badly of you if you want to stay clear of this."
"But if you don't…what do you say Eddie Munson, do you want to run away with me to that place you said you might know?"
"Just for a little bit?.. as I cant go home and perhaps we can use this spring break time to work out what an earth is happening to me."
Eddie had already decided during Chrissy speech that there wasn't a chance in hell that he wouldn't run away with her.
Even if she had just given him an out.
"Chrissy firstly I'd never leave a fair maiden to run away on her own, so you are stuck with me now."
"Eddie the Banished is at your service."
"Hell now I can say that I get to spend my Spring Break with Chrissy Cunningham!"
He could feel himself grinning from ear to ear by the end of delivering that sentence.
Chrissy actually managed to break in to a smile at hearing all this, the relief so clearly etched on her face from his reassurance that he wasn't leaving.
Even if Eddie didn't know what to do right now he did know how to make people laugh and that was what he would focus on.
Taking a second to catch his breath again Eddie thought on what his uncle did when he was stressed.
Wayne always said that making notes helped put down everything from your mind and also gave you a starting place to go from.
Deciding to go from there Eddie got up from the sofa to grab paper from the sideboard and also to find a box of Twinkies from the cupboard.
When Eddie was stressed he was definitely a comfort eater and eating food just helped take his mind off stuff for a little bit.
Eddie came back to sit across from Chrissy moving the box of snacks towards her but she just shook her head.
By now he had demolished 2 Twinkie's and was already ripping opening the third.
Once Eddie had finished that one he began to converse with Chrissy about coming up with a plan.
"Right we need to make a plan on where we start from what we know, feel free to chime in with any thoughts and suggestions but here I go."
"1 - For whatever reason Bon Jovi songs seem to have the power to save Chrissy..Who knew!"
"Music is our friend…I suggest we get as many batteries as we can to power up your Walkman, heck we can even buy a few more of them."
"Id suggest getting a few more tapes of that Bon Jovi Fahrenheit 7800 album as well just so we have backups."
"Rick has a record player at his so we could always get in on Vinyl"
"Does that sound ok so far?"
Eddie turned to Chrissy who was listening at him intently trying to process everything he was saying .
"Yes I'm with you so far, thank you Eddie."
Chrissy uttered softly as she let him carry on.
"2- We need to write a letter to our families so they wont worry about us.. I got a feeling it be easier on my end but we figure something out."
"Obviously we will keep our names out of each other's letter, as I'm pretty sure if people know I went off with Chrissy Cunningham no one will believe you went willingly with me into the night."
Eddie winked at that and smiled up at Chrissy as he went to rub her knee in reassurance that they would sort something out.
"3- We need to stock up on food, gas and any other essentials before we hide out.. especially if people panic when you are gone."
"4- We need to get you some spare clothes I suppose, I've got money if you need to buy something or you could try and risk getting some at home if you want?"
Chrissy shook her head at this suggestion and responded to his last point.
"No,no it is too risky…my mum might catch me creeping in and then she wouldn't let me go again."
"Then id be alone and if anything starts to happen again id be at home with them."
"Let's just focus on starting our letters to write and we can drop it by my house just so I can check that they are ok or something."
"In terms of clothes Im sure I can get some, I've only got $50 on me but that will buy some jeans or something…or if you got any tee shirts spare or something I can just wear those?"
"Sometimes Jason lets me wear his."
Jason's name caused Chrissy to break off now as she felt guilty talking about him and clearly Eddie didn't look like he was enjoying that image of Chrissy in anything belong to Jason.
Eddie nodded his head in silent agreement before he carried on as he tried to push down the jealously that had surfaced at the mention of Jason's name.
"Im sure I can find you something Chrissy, I've got plenty of spare band tee shirts."
"I've also got a stack of Hellclub Teeshirts for my group so its my pleasure to be able to kit you out!"
Even after the events of tonight his kinky mind was still there in the background as he imagined Chrissy wearing one of his shirts.
Better yet just wearing only his shirt!
Hell yes he was definitely going to pack some of those in for her.
Taking a few extra seconds just to enjoy that thought Eddie began to speak again.
"Ok fine I shall go and grab a suitcase and we can start packing."
"As for my letter I will just tell Wayne that I'm leaving to stay with a friend for spring break to blow off some steam and get away from the pressure cooker of school work."
"I'm certain it be fine as I'm twenty after all and I will just tell him I be back in a few days."
"Do you want to stay here while I go pack?… Oh wait stupid question, no way I'm leaving you alone again."
Eddie extended his hand out for her, taking a moment to savour the way in which Chrissy reached for it before he gave her hand a reassuring squeeze.
It still didn't feel real that even after all this he was walking Chrissy Cunningham to his bedroom hand in hand!
As they got closer to his room Chrissy felt herself tense up as she nervously peered into Eddie's room from the hallway.
Last time she had set foot in here that had set off in motion the whole nightmare but thankfully the chair from before was empty and it was just his room. .
It felt a little bit of a circus in there with posters strewn everywhere and lots of records and other items scattered around the place.
Yes it definitely had a boy rooms vibe and it was definitely more messy then Chrissy would have ever been aloud to keep her room.
Yet she kind of liked it, the room just emulated Eddie and his personality.
There were a few books over by the desk and actually Chrissy was surprised to see that he liked to read.
Chrissy had just assumed if he had been held back from school it meant he didn't actually enjoy doing anything like that out of assigned school projects.
Yet clearly he enjoyed some literature, most of it looked like fantasy from what she could make from the covers.
Then Chrissy felt her attention swiftly being pulled away to a very awesome guitar hanging on his mirror.
Yes she definitely could see how Eddie went for one as wild and bold at that one hanging in front of her.
The shape of it was something as well and Chrissy wondered what it would feel like holding it in her hands.
Definitely the whole thing was very rock and roll and Eddie must have looked pretty badass when playing it!
Eddie was gazing at her from the corner the room, one massive grin planted on his face from watching her admiration of his guitar.
"Do you want to go and say hello Sweetheart?"
"That there is my most prised possession, there is no way I'm leaving that behind when we go"
"Beside my uncle would know something was wrong if I ever want away without her,"
Chrissy chuckled softly as she took Eddie's lead to walk closer to the guitar.
Next Eddie strummed his fingers across the strings and then he cradled Chrissy hand so she could mirror the movement.
It did sound pretty cool hearing the notes of the instrument ring out into the room but Chrissy was more focused on the electric sensation of Eddie's hand intertwined with hers.
After she had strummed the notes her face had turned upwards to meet his.
In that instant it felt like all the air had been sucked out for the room and his handsome smile was all she could focus on.
Eddie was just watching her from the corner of his eye and Chrissy was trying really hard to formulate any reply now her brain was turning to mush feeling his body resting against hers.
"Yes….. I definitely…think you definitely have an insanely cool guitar."
"I'm looking forward to seeing you actually play it for me soon, my memory is definitely a little hazy from all those years ago."
HonestlyChrissy was just so thankful that anything had come out and her words actually made sense.
Her brain still felt like it was burning up in lust and it really wasn't easy to have him surrounding her when he smelt really tempting as well.
The main scents she could pinpoint was from his deodorant, cigarettes and whatever citrusy smelling aftershave he was wearing.
They were so close now that Chrissy swore she could ever smell the minty fresh gum he had been chewing on earlier.
Feeling butterflies swarm her body Chrissy quickly moved her eyes to glance at the ground as she began to shuffle her gaze back to the guitar.
Eddie's eyes were still lit up from the thought of playing for Chrissy again as he slowly began to take the guitar off the wall and place it on his bed.
The atmosphere in his room after having Chrissy so close to him after their exchange was electric and he felt like live wires were shooting through his veins.
Thankfully his voice when he spoke to her again didn't betray his nerves and that was a relief at least.
"I shall happily give you a full concert of Corroded Coffin songs Chrissy and actually I think you are the first person to ever get a solo concert so, I'd happily take that first!"
Yet again Chrissy felt her cheeks heat up in arousal as Eddie uttered those words to her.
God part of her was actually wishing she was still a virgin just so he could perhaps one day have taken that first from her!
Honestly Chrissy thought to herself she had almost died an hour ago, there was more important things to be thinking, but she was still a teenager with hormones.
Clearly Eddie was attracting those hormones of hers with a magnetic pull she just couldn't quite explain with any reasoning!
Once again Eddie was observing her intensely as Chrissy had yet to respond and she could only imagine how her cheeks were reflecting her dirty thoughts.
"Ummmm.. ummm a concert would be very nice…now we know music seems to help me in some way I couldn't have ended up in better hands."
Shit Chrissy thought where had that come from, now she was really flirting and it had slipped out of nowhere!
Unfortunately now really wasn't the time to do this and trying to get back on track to the task on hand Chrissy spoke again.
"Ummm I reckon we should start packing though now as it's now late and if Jason does go looking for me at mine and I'm not there it will set alarm bells ringing"
"My mum thinks I'm at a friends but Jason would know that isn't the case… it would all unravel so …so."
After listening to her words Eddie chimed in with his thoughts.
"It's ok I understand, here is some paper get started on your note and I will try and pack up some things in here."
Chrissy nodded as she began to sit down trying to think of what an earth to write to her family.
Every so often Chrissy couldn't help but look back and laugh at Eddie who was flinging items around like a crazy person on the bed.
During various points Eddie was talking to himself while making piles of items and honestly it was rather adorable.
Chrissy saw that he was putting in some spare tee shirts in for her so at least on that front she be covered until she could figure out a further alternative.
Every now and then Eddie had quickly led Chrissy to other rooms as he packed up things they would need for the road trip.
The thing is there was no possible way that he could always be with her every moment especially as they would both have to sleep but Eddie assured her that they would work that all out soon.
Finally it looked like they were all set as Eddie traipsed back in with a pile of stuff from the bathroom and a few set of batteries.
"Ok we are all good to get on the road and get away, are you all set?…Letter writing went ok?"
" I won't lie I'm curious to see what creative lie you came up with to try and make your disappearance seem normal."
Chrissy held up the note in her hand to gesture that she had indeed finished.
"God it took me ages but I just don't know what will work really so I wrote what I could."
"I told mum that a friend invited for a last minute spring break retreat and actually I just had enough of the pressure of school and cheerleading… so I just said yes."
" Then I told her I knew I be grounded when I come back but actually I just need to get away and do something for me for once."
"That I dare not risk coming back to get clothes as I know she wont let me go and that I'm fine for money and everything."
"So actually she doesn't have to worry about me being under her feet all spring break."
"God lets hope we can figure out what to do quickly as otherwise if I'm not back by the end of the week my mum definitely will know I lied and yeah I cant really think about all that now."
Once again Chrissy's voice was raising in pitch from the nerves of trying to process all that had been happening.
As if he was attuned to her on some level and knew how she was feeling Eddie began to talk again.
"Hey hey Sweetheart .. Chrissy I didn't mean to stress you out again…its fine we will be fine."
"We got a plan or a start of one now so lets just go from there .. its like with a guitar you cant play a whole song until you learn how to play all the chords and notes"
"Here grab this bag it's the lighter one…I've left the note for Wayne and we will get everything we need in the next few hours before setting off to the place I told you about.
Eddie took the other bags and his guitar and they went off to the van to load their items.
When Chrissy had arrived earlier tonight she had been expecting to just get high with Eddie and perhaps just see where the night took them.
Now she was about to hit the road with him and Chrissy had no idea how long they be on the run together.
Everything didn't make sense anymore but Chrissy didn't actually feel as afraid as she should.
Just having Eddie around was calming really which was crazy as really Eddie wasn't really what you would call a calm person in personality!
Taking a second to get himself sorted Eddie started the engine now before helping Chrissy with her seatbelt.
Chrissy still definitely looked a little terrified to Eddie but he took a moment to squeeze her hand again before speaking.
"Right we are good to go, next stop yours to drop off that letter and then we are going to find a way to vanquish this demon."
"Buckle up my Queen, times might be tough now but we can do this and lets blast that album in the meantime."
This thankfully earned him a small grin from Chrissy and he knew she was ready at least for the next part of their journey.
Eddie flung the tape in from Bon Jovi album as they darted away into the night and away from the trailer park.
Chrissy really hoped that with every mile they drove they were getting one step closer to solving all her problems.
Mentally she was exhausted and Eddie sensed that so he just held her hand in his every now and then as they drove to hers.
At the start of the day Chrissy could never have imagined talking to Eddie let alone be holding his hand like this.
Yet now it felt like the most natural thing in the world and it was slowly becoming something she felt like she would get addicted to the feeling of.
The feeling of the cold metal rings around his fingers was such a beautiful contrast with the warmth of his flesh against her skin.
That sensation combined with the music from the album felt soothing to Chrissy's soul and she just trusted that for whatever reason it could keep her safe.
Notes:
I hope you liked chapter 4 guys and I'd love to hear any feedback about this chapter.
Honestly thank you all for leaving Kudos and comments from before as well.
Honestly at this point I just feel like Hellcheer are writing me at the moment.
Now that Chrissy is alive and they are on the road things will progress between them more I promise.
Im already so excited to write the next chapter for them and even the thought of a Hellcheer survival shopping trip is exciting to plan for.
Jason will also be making an appearance along with a few others so hopefully I can have that written by next weekend.
