Eddie's Song: Tal Bachman - She's So High and There She Goes: The LA's
The second that Chrissy felt Eddie's van pull into her street she could feel her stress levels going through the roof.
All those horrific memories from that waking nightmare earlier all came flooding back and Chrissy was really worried that there was a chance she could find her parents dead!
At least her brother Alexander hadn't been there in her nightmares as he was sleeping over at a friends tonight.
With a sudden jolt Chrissy felt her entire body jump up in surprise when Eddie gently tapped her on the shoulder.
Chrissy hadn't realised that the van had actually pulled into the curb.
Or the fact that she was gripping Eddie's other hand so tightly that both of theirs had started to go a little white from the cut off circulation.
Eddie raised up his free hand in apology like he had earlier in the day in the forest.
How did that feel so far away now?
Chrissy thought to herself that all those moments in the day felt like a whole lifetime away.
"Man I seem to have a habit of making you jump recently… sorry to scare you sweetheart… I just wanted to say we are here."
"Plus I'm concerned if I left you daydreaming much longer one of us might lose a finger with that vice like grip."
Eddie uttered softly while leaning in slowly to brush a strand of hair from Chrissy's cheek that had fallen when she had jumped in shock.
Chrissy realised then that her scrunchie must have been left behind in the trailer but that could easily be replaced.
Trying her best to relax a little more Chrissy gave Eddie a small smile as she loosened her grip around his hand before quickly darting her eyes to look around the neighbours house.
Chrissy turned round back to Eddie as she looked him over, it was clear that he was worried about how on edge she seemed.
"It's ok, I was a little lost in my mind and sorry about the hand Eddie."
"That's ok Chrissy, its nothing I was more worried you might hurt yourself if you kept that up."
"I think you might have a little indentation of my rings on you're flesh for a little bit but they will fade."
Eddie didn't share the fact that seeing her skin imprinted with the symbols of his ring was sexy as hell, as well now really wasn't the time.
He felt like that image though would definitely be tattooed on his brain for all eternity though!
Perhaps it was just a natural primal instinct to want to mark Chrissy as his is some way even if she was still dating someone else.
Now there was a pause again in their conversation Chrissy took a moment to survey the street again once again to see if it was safe to get out now.
Everything seemed in order and it was the normal level of silent for this part of Hawkins Town.
The lights were off in her house which Chrissy supposed was a good thing.
If anyone did come across them it would definitely make things more complicated as their stories of where they were staying for spring break might come undone.
It was the kind of street where neighbours loved to gossip and it would definitely be fed back to her family if Chrissy had been seen sitting in van with a metal head!
Leaning back towards Eddie Chrissy began to whisper softly as she didn't want anyone any neighbours to hear them .
"Mmmm…. Eddie will you do me a favour after I go to put my letter in the mailbox?"
"Can you perhaps just go and check on my parents from the window for me, just to check that they are ok?"
"I just.. in case something has happened to them I don't think emotionally I can handle that, especially after tonight.. I.. I…."
Cutting in now Eddie began to speak to stop Chrissy before she worked herself in a larger bundle of nerves.
"Yes sure… just let me know where I need to go and I will try my best to see if I can see anything."
"Im sure it be fine though."
"The danger seemed to be more in my trailer and well the creature whatever it was didn't go after me so I'm sure it's the same with them."
God Eddie really hoped this was the case as he knew Chrissy was already close to breaking point at the moment and the last thing she needed was to feel like she had somehow been responsible for her parents death.
In a silent gesture of thanks Chrissy sent a grateful smile his way.
As Eddie went round to help Chrissy get out of the van he noticed that she was trembling and he pulled off his leather jacket to drape it around her shoulders.
Eddie could definitely get used to the sight of Chrissy wearing his jackets but damn he didn't want to get too far ahead of himself on that front.
After all she was still with Jason.
Yes it felt like him and Chrissy might share some kind of connection but things were definitely complicated on that score!
All he needed was a chance to show Chrissy that she could do much better than Jason but even if nothing developed between them Eddie would still be here wanting to help.
Yes he knew that they certainly would never make a conventional couple but Eddie had never given a shit about expected social norms and he certainly wasn't going to start now!
It was like that quote all was fair in love and war.
Suddenly it was Eddie's turn to jump slightly because Chrissy was lightly tapping her fingertips against his upper chest but he had completely zoned out.
"Hello earth to Eddie."
"I've posted the letter in my mailbox and I was calling you Eddie but I didn't get anything back."
"You scared me for a second I thought you had gone again like before, that I couldn't reach you."
As she said the last line it killed Eddie to hear the scared desperation in her tone.
Honestly he had just been so lost in thinking about Chrissy and the potential opportunities of all that they might become that he had just tuned out of everything for a moment.
"Oh shit I'm sorry Chrissy,… I didn't mean to scare you…I'm just tired."
"It's just been the longest freaking day, let me just go and check on your parents and then I will pick up a coffee."
"That high will hit me soon enough and then I will be powered up enough for our save Chrissy Cunningham shop!"
His last sentence at least earned him a chuckle from Chrissy before she gestured for him to walk around the side of the lawn.
Moving as slowly as she could Chrissy then lent up to unlock the backdoor before creeping around the back of the house.
Eddie took in the sight of a wall trellis covered in ivy around the house, which was obviously the path she had planned for him to take to check on her family.
"Oh well I better limber up a little sweetheart."
Eddie flashed a grin her way before he rubbed his hands together and he began stretching his legs quickly from side to side.
That warm up at least earned him another loud chuckle from Chrissy and her nose scrunched in an adorable way from her laugh.
Unfortunately noise wasn't their friend right now and Chrissy's hand darted to her mouth stifling any sound escaping into night.
After Chrissy was certain nobody heard anything she began to reply.
"Honestly thank you for doing this… Eddie please be careful."
"Their room is that one of the left…gosh I just pray that it all be ok!"
In that moment she couldn't help but wrap Eddie in a hug as she laid her head against his upper body.
Eddie was a little taller than Jason but for that reason it made Chrissy feel a little more snug and secure when hugging Eddie.
As they held one another Eddie didn't say anything but he just wrapped Chrissy in his arms tightly and pressed a quick kiss against her forehead.
Unfortunately Chrissy knew she had to let go for him to actually get up there.
Yet all she wanted to do was hold on to him and just ride this crazy train of butterflies that were fluttering around her body!
Still for the night to continue she had to part her body from his.
Eddie cleared his throat as Chrissy moved back glancing shyly up at him before she twisted her fingers in his hands before letting them go.
It was crazy how the sensation of that simple innocent touch was literally making his blood feel like it was aflame with desire.
Heck if things were not so messed up with tonight events Eddie was pretty certain that he would have kissed Chrissy Cunningham in her back garden without a seconds hesitation!
Yet Eddie could so clearly see the concern Chrissy felt for her parents etched on her face in the moonlight and Eddie knew the quicker he got started it would put her mind at rest on things.
"It's.. ok I will be two seconds… beside this isn't the first time I've had to climb over things in a hurry."
"I've got away from a lot of cop cars before as well so I got this."
Taking a second to step back a few paces Eddie moved forward now with swift speed to place himself on the trellis and he began to climb between the gaps in the wooden frame.
The frame was creaking slightly from Eddie's movements and Chrissy felt like heart was in her mouth but actually she needn't be worried.
In a few seconds he was already half way up and seemed to appear confident enough to reach his destination.
As soon as he had reached her parents room he slowly lifted his head over the window frame to take a look inside.
Even from that height Chrissy could see Eddie give her a thumbs up and a wide grin to let her know that everything looked ok.
The relief she felt in this moment was immense.
Even with the complicated relationship she had with her mother especially she didn't actually want anything bad to have happened.
Eddie was already near to the ground again and with a soft thud he landed beside her and came to settle at her side.
"They are fine Chrissy…,no Frankenstein dad or demon mother!"
"Im just glad you don't have to at least worry about that anymore."
Chrissy didn't actually know this about him but Eddie knew all about losing his parents so, the last thing he wanted was for her was to process all that as well.
"Oh Eddie thank you, it means everything, one less thing to be scared about now, where to next then?"
Chrissy uttered softly in a quiet whisper.
When Eddie had been driving earlier to Chrissy's house he had already began to think about where to go after here.
" I say we go and hit the gas station and get some coffee."
"Then in a few hours we quickly go and find a Walmart where we can grab some clothes/food and then to my mates Rick."
Hopefully that would all be ok with Chrissy Eddie pondered to himself.
"Ok then that sounds like a plan Eddie and I promise I will find a way to pay you back."
"As soon as all this is over, its not fair you have to pay for all of this especially after all your help so far."
"Hey… hey enough of that Chrissy, firstly I have a bit saved up, its only money and you don't actually owe me anything."
"For once just think of it as someone doing something nice because they want to and not because they only want something in return."
He just had a sense that when it came to Jason and hers relationship it would be the kind of dynamic where Jason would buy her things with grand gestures of devotion but actually he would make Chrissy feel like she had to pay him back for them.
Chrissy was already leading Eddie back through her garden as she tried to bury the ache of leaving her family home from her mind!
Even if things here were not always good here having to leave the familiarity of all she had ever known was still very tough.
Once they were back in the van Eddie put the pedal to the metal and drove them as fast as he could to a gas station for fuel and coffee.
It was about one am now so they had a few more hours until the Walmart opened.
Then if they needed they could find other shops somewhere for the last few essentials.
In the last few moments Chrissy has been constantly trying to fight yawns and Eddie could just sense how she was struggling to fight the alluring spell of sleep.
It made sense to him though why she was desperately trying to stay awake and to not be alone.
"Honestly Chrissy, we got nothing to do for a few hours, you should get some zzz…"
"You must be exhausted especially after what you're body has been through."
"Im right here ok, I wont sleep and you got your walkman so perhaps you could try and sleep with that on if its low enough."
Chrissy was still feeling hesitant but there was no denying that her eyes were struggling to keep open and her body was just drained.
She knew she would need to sleep at some point and the fact Eddie was there to keep watch over her would help to keep her safe.
" Fine I give up… I'm so tired and I can try to keep the music on."
"What about you though?"
"Eddie you wont be able to survive off coffee alone for ever!"
"It's fine sweetheart when we get to Rick I can sleep a bit, as long as you got the music on I assume you will be fine if I'm not awake."
" I wont lie and try to say I understand any of it but it's definitely something that we know works on some level so, lets keep doing it until we have more concrete facts.
Eddie's comforting tone was soothing and Chrissy took comfort in his words.
With a quick rummage of her bag Chrissy pulled the walkman from her bag and then she let Eddie know the run time of the album so, that he could reset the tape back to the start.
"Thanks again Eddie and goodnight then."
Chrissy yawned the last part at him and man the thought of Chrissy saying goodnight to him regularly did things to his heart.
"Goodnight my queen"
Eddie whispered softly into the night as sleep began to take his Chrissy away from him.
Setting a alarm on his watch with the correct run time Eddie pushed the seat back for her further.
The leather jacket he had given Chrissy earlier was now draped around her legs as it definitely wasn't warm in the van.
Chrissy was literally asleep in a matter of seconds and Eddie felt at least a little better knowing that at least one of them could recharge.
It would be a long few hours but Eddie would do all he could to try and stay awake.
Obviously he couldn't really listen to the radio so he rummaged around for a torch in one of his back packs and for a book he had brought with him.
It was a very well loved copy of The Fellowship Of The Rings that Eddie pulled out from the depths of his bag.
Eddie had packed all of the trilogy in and to be honest it felt fitting for their own quest that they were included for the ride.
The characters of the book felt like old friends for Eddie and as soon as he began to read time seemed to fly by much more quickly.
Thankfully the coffee had kicked in properly now as well and Eddie quickly wolfed down a sandwich that he had also got in a meal deal.
Every 47 minutes his watch would beep and he would rewind the tape back for Chrissy and press play again.
Chrissy just slept peacefully beside him and every so often he would glance over to check on her.
I mean awake she was one thing but honestly sleeping beside him looking so peaceful she really was the definition of an angel!
Now she was asleep as well he had the chance to really take in everything about her and up close everything was even more stunning.
Those lips man they especially were something else, on another level and yeah he knew he didn't stand a chance now.
Even if he wanted to fight the pull he was feeling for her Eddie knew it would be impossible.
Not after they had reconnected in this way and not now that he had a chance to see her in moments like this.
Somehow during the middle of the Chrissy managed to move herself to rest against Eddie's shoulder and upper chest.
Eddie couldn't actually recall ever having a girl fall asleep against him like that.
It was both one of the best things that had ever happened and one of the worst!
As it was literally torture for him to try and be this close to her without wanting Chrissy to actually be his girl instead of Jason.
Before this it was hard enough to see Chrissy with Jason and now he knew that if she went back to him after their time together it would tear his insides out.
One of Chrissy's hands reached up to grab the top of his shirt and the way she snuggled closer was going to be the death of him!
Instinctively his finger tips began to brush through her hair and he lost count of the times he watched his rings move through the shimmering auburn river that was her hair.
Seeing that it was now almost six Eddie tried very slowly to shift Chrissy back to her seat now as he began to drive to the nearest Walmart.
When he got there the shop assistants had already opened up but there was only one other car in the whole place.
Which would at least be good for avoiding running into multiple people that either of them might know from somewhere.
Eddie turned slightly now as he moved his hand to run across Chrissy's cheek gently.
"Hey…hey Chrissy wake up."
Eddie scolded himself for a second at having used those words but then again they were just things you said naturally to someone.
"We are here at the supermarket Chrissy."
Chrissy instantly darted awake her eyes open in panic but she soon settled when she saw Eddie beside her.
Feeling a little awkward at having been asleep for so long Chrissy took a second to check that she was all ok in the mirror and she tried to quickly neaten her hair with a spare scrunchie from her bag.
There were a few sleepy hazy memories of laying against Eddie for a little bit but she couldn't have been certain if that was a dream or real.
The main thing is she hadn't had any more nightmares so the music seemed to work on that level.
Unwrapping a stick of chewing gum quickly Chrissy popped it in her mouth.
In her bag she always had an endless supply not only to look after her teeth but also because it helped with the hunger cravings sometime.
If she we chewing on gum as well she could also pretend to herself that she was eating food.
It was also useful to have it for when she purged herself of food to mask what she was doing from anyone.
Eddie had quickly put his stuff away while he let Chrissy sort herself out a bit.
Chrissy then turned to him smiling shyly before starting to talk.
"Im all good now, lets go and at least it seems quiet so, it should be safe here."
"Heck I forget I probably should have left a similar message at Jason's but its too late now."
"If he goes to see my mum he might just assume that I didn't tell him as I didn't want to get him in trouble or to let him know where I was going."
"Knowing how well he and my mum get on he would rat me out anyways as he always tries to stay on her good side."
It was surprising to Eddie to hear Chrissy talk this way about Jason as if he was a bit of a thorn in her side.
Perhaps this was a sign of hope that Chrissy actually didn't feel as happy being with Jason as the image they portrayed in Hawkins High seemed to suggest.
Still he couldn't leave her sitting there in silence so Eddie replied.
"Ok then lets go and do this, I've got about $400 dollars from my dealing so that should last us a while anyways Chrissy."
"Plus I got my $50 as well, please at least let me buy my own clothes or something… it's the least I can do."
Chrissy chimed in quickly in her desperation to remind him that she didn't mind helping.
He relented knowing that actually it was important for her to feel like she could control something and he didn't want to work her up even further.
"That's fine then you can buy whatever you would like sweetheart."
They began to make their way across the empty car park now and as they went in Eddie yanked a trolly from the side.
Walking side by side they began to move down the food aisles in search of supplies.
Even though they had only been here a few minutes Eddie had already thrown in a bunch off food items that were attracting his eye.
Man he was always tempted by offers and normally just put things in his basket to buy on impulse.
Looking back into the trolley he had realised that actually Chrissy hadn't put in a damn thing for herself.
Every so often it looked like she had wanted to but it seemed like she was holding herself back before she passed to the next items.
Yes he had always known Chrissy was naturally slim but Eddie had just assumed that she ate well and because of the cheerleading she was in good shape from that.
Now he was a bit concerned that there was more below the surface then met the eye when it came to her relationship with food!
"Chrissy … I … I… its perfectly ok to pick whatever you want."
"I will eat whatever healthy things you would like as well…Im a food junkie I admit but I want you to get something."
" We need to keep our energies up and well we don't need to eat it all quickly, grab things that can last as well."
"This this might be the last time we can come shopping for a bit together so we better grab more than we probably actually need."
"Oh .. ok sure thank you Eddie, healthy things for me are well… they are much appreciated."
" I don't really need much but I will try and grab some things anyways so you don't have to worry about me."
Thankfully Chrissy had started to fill the basket up at least a bit more and they chatted a bit back and fourth as they went down the next aisle.
In the breakfast section they both darted towards the same cereal which caused their eyes to light up when they saw the other doing the same.
" Aww man Honeycombs…good choice queen… I'm impressed, they are everything. "
"I agree they do taste so good Eddie, plus they are healthier than a lot of alternatives and it's the only thing my mum lets me buy."
Chrissy covered her mouth quickly in shock that those words had slipped out.
Honestly she hadn't meant to confess that but Eddie just had a way about him that made her spill out secrets.
Yes Eddie definitely felt more concern from what Chrissy had just confided to him.
Clearly her issues with food was also partly connected with her mother and that definitely made sense why Chrissy had felt like she couldn't decide what to actually put in the basket.
Perhaps during shopping trips she never actually got much choice to choose for herself.
What kind of twisted person was her mother if she was treating Chrissy like a puppet who literally had no control over her life choices!
I mean Chrissy was already on an insane training fitness program so, she should have been eating whatever she wanted guilt free.
Yet the time to figure this all out wasn't in the supermarket now and Eddie knew they would have to address this a bit letter.
Chrissy thankfully had a reason to avoid getting in to this topic when she noticed the clothes aisle. Darting forward she found a few everyday essentials items that she needed, before adding a pair of blue and black jeans that would fit within her budget.
The only stressful part was now trying to decide between a hoodie or a sweatshirt.
As there was still quite a chill in the March air and Christy didn't know what the set up would be at Eddie's friends.
Sensing her deliberation Eddie just said he would get her whatever she didn't have money for and that was all sorted.
Walmart also had a section with music albums and both of them felt relief seeing it filled with the Bon Jovi tapes they needed for Chrissy.
Swiping his hand across the back of the tapes Eddie watched as they all fell in his trolley.
Chrissy could see Eddie searching around a little between some other tapes and then he came back with two in his hand.
"Im certain you would never have heard of WASP but you be missing out if I didn't introduce you to one of my favourite bands!"
" Aww well thank you I shall give them a go then Eddie.."
Chrissy smiled as she took the tapes and looked at the art work.
The first one was just called WASP like the band and the second was called The Last Command.
The band definitely seemed eccentric and well it was nice that Eddie wanted to share something he enjoyed with her.
Apart from talking about basketball with Jason a lot Chrissy actually realised that he had never really shared things he enjoyed much with her.
It was a strange feeling to think you could be with someone and actually know so little about them as a person.
Yet Chrissy could easily imagine Eddie being the type of boyfriend who spoke often and passionately about things he enjoyed.
Once they had passed the batteries section to which Eddie also had raided they found the electrical aisle.
This was where Eddie found some Walkmans and he picked up at least another two to pick up in the basket.
"Mmmm… I think that is all on our list … we should be good to go now."
"All set Chrissy?"
Chrissy nodded and they headed off to the checkout section.
Even though they hadn't quite reached it yet Eddie was already rifling with notes trying to cut down on the time they had to spend in here.
The check out assistant definitely did a double take when she clocked the young looking couple and their trolley in front of her.
It was definitely something you didn't see every day a cheerleader and metal head doing a food shop together!
However that being said they did rather suit in a way and both of them were smiling at one another happily as they conversed about things.
Even though the checkout lady was trying to be discreet when watching them, both of them knew they were being observed.
Like most shopping places they must have had CTV cameras around and Chrissy wanted to make sure that she looked happy in Eddie's company.
Not that she wasn't but just in case people did find out she had run away with Eddie she didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea about what had happened.
" Just follow my lead ok Eddie, we need to sell the happy to be in ones another company a bit more just to be safe."
Chrissy moved her hand to wrap around his as she smiled sweetly up at him before turning to the assistant.
Moving her other hand behind his back she tapped against it and Eddie responded to her silent instructions.
Now he wrapped his arm around her shoulder pulling her closer against him as she rested her head on his shoulders.
In their laced hands Chrissy began to play with Eddie's rings as she glanced back down towards the floor.
Yes she definitely was too nervous to actually look up at Eddie as well the check out lady in this moment.
It was clear through their shared hold that Eddie was feeling tense and his palm was a little sweaty against her skin.
They were only meant to be acting as a couple and Chrissy knew that but for some reason it just felt so natural and easy.
In a way more natural then it ever had with Jason!
Chrissy always felt pressure to smile a certain way or make sure she always looked her best to earn Jason devotion.
There always seemed to be a tinge of disappointment from Jason if there were days she didn't seem to match that criteria he expected from her.
Yet with Eddie she just got a sense he would generally love to see her and spend time with her whatever she was wearing or mood she was in.
These thoughts were dangerous she knew that but perhaps she was finally coming to terms with what she had known for months.
That she didn't love Jason anymore like that, that he didn't make her heart skip a beat when she walk him walk into the room like it once had.!
"That's an interesting amount of Bon Jovi albums and batteries you got there in your trolly."
The check out lady tone rang out with slight confusion and curiosity.
Thankfully Eddie was much quicker to come up with an explanation than Chrissy had been.
" What can I say Bon Jovi is my secret obsession but it wouldn't be very cool as a metal head to confess that."
"Which means I have so sneak in at ridiculous hours of the morning to feed my addiction."
"The batteries are so I can phone home to my people just like ET did … I'm just too misunderstood for this planet man…"
"How I snagged this beautiful girl I will never know… yet here I am forever eternally grateful to walk in her presence."
As he said this sentence Eddie took a moment to bow his body slightly as he extended his arms out towards her.
Chrissy had to fight the urge to laugh out loud to Eddie's response and the poor check out lady had no idea how to respond either.
"Im so sorry my boyfriend thinks he is so funny."
Yes she definitely was blushing again now and Eddie couldn't take his eyes off hers when they both looked at one another after she had uttered the word boyfriend.
Eddie moved his hands to his rest over his heart pretending like her words had stung and Chrissy couldn't help but laugh at his cute pained expressions.
It was just like how he had done it earlier in the forest, yet it still made her burst into a warm smile.
" Oh my queen wounds me, the pain is so much I might die right here on this Walmart floor!"
Even though Chrissy knew he was only acting something came over her in that moment.
It was like she couldn't help herself as she leant in to him and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Ohh I was just playing you know you are the funniest person I know, I'm so sorry my king."
The air around them both began to feel super charged as his held her closer against his body.
His hands wrapped around her waist, gently twisting with the waistband of her cheerleading outfit.
"Mmm king I rather like the sound of that."
Eddie voice sounded raspy as he whispered those words against her earlobe and Chrissy felt her body shiver at the sensation of his heated breath caressing her skin.
All sense had seemed to leave them both and it was like they had both forgotten that they were in a Walmart aisle just after 6am.
The shared gaze between them felt like it would never be severed as they stared intensely in one another eyes.
"Oh Eddie I got something you will like even more."
Extending on her tip toes Chrissy placed a daring soft swift kiss against his lips.
For a second Chrissy thought he wasn't going to respond, as he was frozen still in shock but then before she pulled away his lips finally claimed hers.
They were so much softer then she had imagined but they felt amazing pressed against hers.
As if her hands were controlled by their own pull of gravity Chrissy hands twisted around Eddies curls and damn that definitely felt as good as she had been imagining it might.
In response to her touch and kisses Eddie let out a deep groan and Chrissy literally felt like that might be the hottest thing she had ever heard!
Chrissy arched her head up higher as Eddie deepened the kiss and the tip of his tongue was weaving a seductive path across her mouth.
If it wasn't for the announcement ringing out over the Walmart Com Chrissy wondered if anything else would have stopped their kissing embrace.
Somehow the message seeped into her mind, even through all the sexual lust she was feeling and Chrissy felt herself break contact.
Eddie's eyes were staring into her soul and she swore they were darker now consumed by what they had shared.
I mean she had told Eddie to follow her lead but never in a million years had she expected it to lead them to this.
The check out lady was trying her best to look busy but it was clear that even she had been flustered by the unexpected PDA.
Chrissy was blushing profusely and Eddie's mouth was still hanging open as if he couldn't quite believe it either.
It wasn't clear who might break the silence first but it turned out that Eddie was that victor.
"That's my angel of a girlfriend always leaving me surprised ..."
Chrissy felt a smile escape at that before she turned to the lady .
" I do apologise if … well you know… that we."
The lady seeing Chrissy struggling to form her words decide to cut in.
"It's fine, we see all sorts in here anyways and to be honest we were all young couples in love once."
" I too once had a boyfriend like yours and well I regret that I didn't fight for him harder back then."
"Day's seem endless then and you always think there be more time, sometimes life just happens but I wish you two all the best."
"Mmmm and seems like you all ready to go now, that will be $200 dollars."
Eddie counted out the amount and he allowed Chrissy to add her 50 dollars to the pot.
It took about 3 tries before Eddie had the correct money as his brain was still short circuiting from the fact he had just made out with Chrissy in a frigging supermarket!
Where that had come from he had no idea but Eddie was literally feeling like he was blasting around on a shooting star or something!
It was as if his body was on auto pilot for the rest of the transaction and even on the way back to the van as they loaded up.
Both of them kept taking sneaky glances every and now then at the other but neither of them knew where to start.
With a gentle thud of the doors they both got in the front of the van.
Gripping the steering wheel tightly Eddie tried to recall how on earth to even start a car again.
The only brain that seemed to be firing all cylinders was in his pants and it was extremely fired up after after feeling Chrissy kissing him.
The silence was unbearable now and Chrissy was worried that perhaps she had done something she shouldn't of had.
Perhaps she had read things wrong and Eddie actually didn't like her in that way.
" Ummm Im sorry if… well you know I made it awkward, I swear it started off just by me trying to appear like we were a couple and then I don't know."
"Then I kissed you and now nothing makes sense to me anymore!"
"Perhaps its almost as I died but in that moment I just wanted to kiss you and that is what I did."
In her mortification Chrissy began to move her face to greet her waiting hands but Eddie leant in instead cupping her face with his palms instead.
" No need to say sorry.. not for something as amazing as what that kiss was.'
I just hadn't pictured our first kiss in a supermarket after the craziest night of our lives."
Those statements from Eddie made Chrissy eyes scrunch slightly in confusion.
"Have your pictured kissing me before then Eddie?"
" Oh angel you have no idea the half of it, that certainly wasn't the first time Ive imagined it and it wont be the last!"
Chrissy liked the pet name of angel that fell from his lips as well as the confession he had shared with her.
Both of them took a minute to catch their breath before Eddie remembered how to actually start the van and they managed to get on the road.
Twenty four hours ago Chrissy had just been getting ready for school now and here she was in Eddie's van after just kissing him as if he was all the air she would ever need!
Things were definitely getting most complicated but soon it would be just the two of them together and Chrissy could try and find some time to figure out what she actually wanted.
In between trying to save herself for a demon that seemed to want her dead.
Some hours later Jason woke up very hangover in bed.
He tried really hard to recall if Chrissy had actually come to the party last night.
Yeah Jason couldn't recollect much and man they had all been so drunk.
Anyways he managed to roll himself out off bed and get showered, which in turn began to make him feel a bit more awake .
After that he wolfed down a bacon sarnie before grabbing his jacket and telling his mother he was leaving.
Then he got into to his car to drive over to Chrissy's .
As soon as he knocked on the door he knew something was wrong.
Laura Cunningham looked furious and he had never seen her wear this expression in his company.
" Oh Jason, perhaps you can tell me where my reckless daughter has run off too?"
"How dare she leave us a note and disappear for spring break without permission."
" Im so confused Mrs Cunningham about what you are referring too… when I saw Chrissy last night after the game she said she was coming home to change."
" Well it seems like my daughter has no issue lying to you either, as she told me she was sleeping over with a friend."
" Then this morning I find out its all a ruse so she could escape into the night."
"Ungrateful brat when we do so much for her.. please tell me you know the meaning of this?"
Mrs Cunningham threw a piece of paper against his chest as Jason moved it to read.
Perhaps the hangover didn't help but honestly it made no sense.
There was no way Chrissy would leave without telling him first, he couldn't recall anyone on the team even going on holiday.
All Jason knew was that things didn't fit and he knew he would have to start investigating.
"Mrs Cunningham leave this with me I will figure out what is going on and find Chrissy to bring her home."
Jason felt anger raise in his chest at the thought of how easily Chrissy lied to him about going back to home last night.
Chrissy had made him feel like a fool by not being honest with him and that was something that Jason was not used to being.
Still even with all that anger he wouldn't rest until he brought his girl back home.
