Chapter 13 Aftermath
"This entire event was a disaster." Tarkin said looking at the destroyed Arena. "These...Dark troopers as Amon called them. Using an illegal fuel source to power them. This makes him a criminal." Tarkin said.
"Mmm. What he was doing before hand was one thing. No one was being killed which didn't require the the usual response. But now though we do need to start taking this more seriously." Sean said.
"Which is why I'm dispatching Inferno squad to Earth to hunt down and eliminate Amon. I don't care if this does make him a martyr. These weapons are dangerous and he doesn't even understand the dangers he's bringing." Tarkin said.
"If we make him a martyr it will turn the people against us and cause bigger problems." Garrick said.
"I honestly don't care. We told him the real truth about the Sith and still views the Jedi as the real criminals." Sean said.
"Either way we need to deal with him. He's becoming a problem. Soon enough he's gonna gather an army and make things difficult for all of us. And we got enough problems on our hands. We still haven't decided if we're gonna use the Clone army." Gideon said.
"What are your thoughts on that Sean?" Tarkin asked.
"Honestly we need all the help we can get. Besides I saw them in action during training. They have the skills we need. The payment for buying them on the other hand is no issue because of Avatar Salai's fortune we found. It was ten times what the Republic had before it was disbanded." Sean said.
"All the more reason we should make the purchase." Thrawn said.
"I'm more open to enlisted soldiers. But I admit time of the essence since we still don't know when the Sith will strike." Tarkin said.
"Then let's make the purchase." Gideon said.
"Not yet. We still need to deal with this first." Tarkin said.
"Thankfully we found a large shipment of those gloves and other weapons on our raid of the Cabage corp warehouse. So that should put a dent on Amon's plans." Sean said.
"I find it very strange that a useless corporation even before joining the Republic could make such weapons." Garrick said.
"The galaxy is full of surprises. But just to be on the safe side we'll keep our eyes and ears open for anything suspicious." Sean said.
Later
Sean and Korra arrived outside the Bending arena which was being demolished for a new and better Arena.
"I can't believe Amon trashed this place." Korra said.
"Yeah, well he's a moron." Sean said as they went inside.
"I still can't believe they're shutting this place down." Mako said as he and his brother packed up.
"Yeah, we had some good memories here, didn't we?" Bolin said feeling down before the two rushed up.
"Guys, great news. You don't have to go back on the streets. I talked to Tenzin and made all the arrangements. You can live on Air Temple Island with us." Korra said.
"Oh...Well, we'd love to, but." Mako tried to say.
"Asami already invited us to live in her dad's giant mansion!" Bolin said excited.
"Oh well that just figures. Though I'm surprised since neither of you are with her like me." Sean said.
"I just felt it was the right thing to do." Asami said coming down.
"So what happened earlier? You had a council meeting this morning." Korra said.
"Oh, Iden and her squad will be here longer since my dad and the others want Amon put down. After seeing those weapons its got them all on edge. Not that I blame them of course." Sean said.
"Whats the big deal? They were just droids." Asami said.
"The droid aren't the problem since everyone makes their own design. It's the power source thats the problem. It was made Illegal because of situations in the past during the days of the old Republic." Sean said.
"Oh." Asami said.
"Yeah, thats why the council is concerned." Korra said,
"We'll see you guys later." Sean said as they left.
Later
Pabu jumped into a pool before Bolin followed.
"Earthbending bomb!" Bolin yelled before Sean and Korra were led in.
"Avatar Korra and Master Kruger have arrived." A servant said.
"Damn." Sean said impressed. "And I thought my home back on Eriadu was impressive." Sean said.
"Glad you guys could make it." Mako said before Bolin came out.
"Welcome to Paradise." Bolin said.
"Looks like you guys settled right in." Korra said as she and Sean sat down.
"Pretty much. Except someone forgot to ask her father if we could stay here." Mako said looking at Asami making them chuckle.
"Now don't say you're one of those rich brats who expect to get whatever they want right away." Sean said making her giggle.
"I honestly forgot. I smoothed it over with him. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission." Asami said.
"That all depends on who you're asking and why." Sean said as she swam to them.
"So, what do you have planned for us today? Let me guess, shopping, Makeovers?" Korra asked amused.
"Oh, Oh, I vote makeovers." Bolin said before Mako dunked him.
"I have something a little more exciting in mind." Asami said grinning.
"Oh boy." Sean said.
Soon all five were outside seeing some race track.
"Now what do we have here?" Sean asked.
"Way cooler than a makeover." Korra said.
"This was where future Industries test drives their Sato-Mobiles before the days when Earth joined the Republic. Ever been behind the wheel?" Asami asked.
"Of those? No. Speeders are more of our thing." Korra said.
Arriving back inside Sean went to the rest room before walking out.
"No, no, no. Everything is going exactly as planned." Hiroshi said in his office making Sean narrow his eyes before listening in. "Luckily the Cabbage corp investigation has bought us enough time. Trust me, by the end of the week, we'll be ready to strike." Hiroshi said making Sean narrow his eyes before leaving.
Arriving back down stairs he saw Asami.
"Asami, Can I talk to you for a second." Sean said leading her away.
"What is it?" Asami asked.
"I'll be blunt. Does your dad have a reason to join the Equalists?" Sean asked shocking her.
"What? No. He hates violence. Why are you asking?" Asami asked.
"I just overheard him mentioning how the Cabage corp investigation bought him and someone time. I didn't see who. But that made me suspicious since everyone could be a suspect. Now does he have a reason?" Sean asked making her frown before looking away. "Asami if you know something you have to tell me." Sean said making her sigh.
"Theres...One reason he might wanna join. What do you know about the Triads?" Asami asked.
"Same as I said to Mako. Only that they've become less and less common. Why?" Sean asked.
"12 years ago one of them robbed the mansion while me and my father were at his company...My mother was killed." Asami said shocking him.
"Oh. I'm sorry I didn't know." Sean said.
"I know he was angry about what happened but...He never said he blamed Benders." Asami said.
"Maybe he didn't fully until Amon got into his head. All it takes is one person to set some off in an explosion of rage." Sean said.
"You think so?" Asami asked.
"I know so. Nevertheless I need to investigate. Keep him occupied. If it proves he's innocent we have nothing to worry about." Sean said.
"And...If he is involved?" Asami asked afraid.
"He'll be sentenced to life in prison regardless of reason. I told you already those droids use Illegal fuel. If he's helping...He'll face time." Sean said making her sigh.
"All right." Asami said as he left.
Later
"So you think Hiroshi manufactured those gloves and the droids?" Tarkin asked.
"The timing is what makes me really think that and what I heard." Sean said.
"Hmm. This is indeed troubling. Hiroshi is one of the smartest minds on the planet. If he is indeed making new weapons for Amon...Our troubles will only get worse." Dooku said.
"I can understand he probably thinks Benders are the cause for suffering because of past events but to build things like these Dark troopers seems a little over the Line." Iden said.
"Hate will make many people do things out of character. Many Jedi when they became Sith during the days of the Old Republic let Hate and anger flow through them uncontrollably which led them to becoming something else." Sean said.
"Indeed. And if Hiroshi is making these Dark Troopers...He will be sentenced to life in prison for his actions." Tarkin said.
"Just for making droids?" Iden asked.
"For using Isotope-5. You know why that stuff was made Illegal." Sean said.
"I know. Still the fact is that we don't have any solid evidence to investigate his factories or depots." Iden said.
"Incorrect. We have probable cause. That gives us reason to search them." Tarkin said.
"Lets just get this over with." Sean said.
Later
The Legion's elite had searched all of future industries wear houses and factories to look for anything relating to Amon.
However they had not found anything close to tying him to Amon.
"The Men have searched all over. Nothing. Not one piece linking him to Amon or anything to do with him. Looks like he's really not involved at all." Hask said.
"Then what was he talking about before?" Del asked.
"Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't Cabbage corp and Future Industries been rivals for a long time?" Iden asked.
"Yes?" Sean said curious to see where she was going with this.
"Maybe he actually meant the market. I mean with the biggest competitor out of the way they could be tripling profits." Iden said.
"Well...I can't deny that does makes sense. I guess this whole thing has me on edge." Sean said.
"Not like you to make mistakes." Hask said.
"Korra is mostly worried Amon will come after the twins...With Murderous intentions." Sean said.
"Oh." Del said.
"Yeah. So naturally I want him found before something of the like does happen." Sean said.
"Can't fault you for that." Hask said before an alert came in before Thrawn appeared on a communicator.
"What is it?" Sean asked.
"One of the captured Equalists has struck a bargain. But will only talk with you." Thrawn said.
"Understood." Sean said as they left.
Arriving at the detention area they found a woman in her early 20's at some table.
"So why give up your own people?" Hask asked.
"You have to understand. My parents were killed by the Triads when I was a little girl. I never got to really know them. I joined Amon because he made it sound like all Benders and Jedi were like that. However you all have treated us with dignity and respect. Understanding our pain. Which made me realize Amon is making blind accusations against the Jedi and making it sound like All benders are bad. But they're not."
"Your reasons are understandable. Anger leads to causes like these. Tell us what we want and your sentence for all of you will be less than it would be." Tarkin said.
"All right. Hiroshi Sato did make the gloves. That was what he was originally going to make only...But then...He got some parts from one of Amon's allies from beyond Earth. The Same ones who said all Jedi were like Benders. Even gave them that fuel source you said is Illegal."
"I knew it." Sean said.
"But clearly thats not all." Iden said.
"No. Rumor has it he's making something even more deadly. Something from the days of the Mandolorian wars from what I understand."
"Oh boy. Those days there were weapons that actually make modern weapons look small time." Sean said.
"What was it called?" Hask asked.
"Something called a...Basilisk?"
"What?" Iden asked afraid remembering 3 years ago.
"Not that. A basilisk is a war droid. The one from 3 years ago was a one time deal." Sean said.
"Oh." Iden said.
"If he's making those he's aiming for war." Sean said.
"Where is he making them? We searched everywhere." Del asked.
"Thats because he has a private factory under the Sato mansion."
Sean narrowed his eyes at that.
Later
Inferno and the Havoc squad busted into the Sato Mansion.
"Spread out and find him." Sargent Forge said.
"Sean, Whats going?" Asami asked.
"One of the Equalists came forward and confirmed your father's involvement." Sean said.
"They have to be lying." Asami said.
"I don't think so. I sensed no deception. That and she gave a full detail report on parts that were found on those droids and the fuel source. It confirms he's involved. Said he's got a secret factory here." Sean said.
"Theres no factory here." Asami said.
"Is there somewhere here he goes to a lot?" Sean asked making her frown.
"There is one. His workshop out back." Asami said.
Forge and his men kicked down the doors to the workshop finding it empty.
"Nothing here." Forge said before Sean tossed up a small ball before it started scanning the room.
"Not true." Sean said using the force to lift the floor up showing a secret passage way.
"Do you think your dad knows about this tunnel?" Bolin asked.
"I don't understand. There must be an explanation." Asami said.
"Maybe you don't know everything about your father. I'm sorry." Korra said.
"All right boys. Into the tunnel." Forge said as they went in.
"You three stay here." Sean said as they went down.
Arriving on an elevator they went down before they came to a massive room.
"Not your average workshop." Hask said seeing banners with Amon's face.
Thats when they saw the Basilisks.
"And it looks like Hiroshi was making old droids. But these look more modern compared to the old ones." Korra said.
"Hiroshi is involved all right. So where is he?" Sean asked before the doors shut making them look behind.
"And we just got ambushed." Iden said.
"Very true." Hiroshi said as he appeared on one of the Basilisks.
"Hiroshi. I know your angry about what happened but you can't blame every bender." Sean said.
"Maybe not. But bending has caused nothing but suffering. And you Jedi are all the same. Now do the galaxy a favor and DIE!" Hiroshi yelled blasting them but the blasts just froze. "What?" Hiroshi asked in shock before seeing Sean with his palm out before sending it right back at him making him yell in shock as he fell over and crawled out.
"You seriously believe Amon so much you blindly would listen to his words without seeing the proof yourself? I thought you were smart." Sean said making him seethe.
"You Jedi and Benders are all the same. You cause nothing..." Hiroshi tried to say.
"ENOUGH!" Sean roared shocking him as the place shook. "Listen. Jedi are Peace keepers. Not warmongers. Thats the Sith you're talking about." Sean said.
"He never mentioned another group." Hiroshi said glaring at him.
"We know. He said so himself because he's blinded by hatred for those with power. Sith are the ones who you wanna hate. Not us. You wanna be angry. FINE. But be angry at those who are actually responsible. Otherwise your just throwing out blind accusations with nothing to back them but the words of ONE man. And for you of all people to do is just plain stupid." Sean said before Hiroshi pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the chest making him grin before Sean pulled it back and healed instantly shocking him.
"Dad!" Asami yelled shocking him further. "How could you?" Asami asked.
"Asami...You have to listen to me. They ruined the galaxy." Hiroshi said.
"No they didn't. I actually did my research. Sith are the ones your talking about. Jedi helped people. Otherwise why is it people ask for their help so much? Why would the Republic ask for them to solve so many problems? Answer that to me now?" Asami asked making him frown looking down.
"Your a moron." Sean said cuffing him. "Lets go." Sean said as they went out.
Later
Hiroshi was in a heavily secured prison cell in Republic City.
"Whats going to happen to him?" Asami asked.
"He'll stand trial before the council on Coruscant. Thats gonna be a week or so. We still have other issues to deal with. Hopefully this will draw Amon out so can capture him or eliminate him right away." Tarkin said.
"Mmm. So, Do you wanna move on Air Temple island? Figured you could want some company." Sean said making her smile.
"Sure. I'll get Mako and Bolin too." Asami said walking away as he sighed.
"Don't feel guilty. He brought this on himself." Tarkin said.
"I know. You know if we had actually educated people more on the Jedi order here this could have been avoided." Sean said.
"Nothing is ever certain. He brought this on himself and now has to pay the price." Tarkin said.
"So what happens now?" Sean asked.
"Thrawn and I head back to Coruscant to discuss the clone army with the rest of the Council. I expect you to attend." Tarkin said.
"Don't bother. I already cast my vote to purchase." Sean said.
"I suppose thats true. Still if this situation with Amon isn't resolved soon...The Legion will have no choice but to launch a full scale invasion and take him down." Tarkin said leaving.
"Oh boy." Sean said walking off.
