Chapter 18 An Old Legacy
Sean slowly woke up from his bed before seeing Korra next to him asleep making him smile as he kissed her making her smile softly.
Its been a couple weeks since the Dark Primordial was fully defeated and since they learned this was done by an entity to unite both universes.
After that the Task force remained to help end the Clone wars and trained and recruited others into its ranks.
Right now though Sean was in his home on Naboo.
Getting up Korra and Oola started getting the food for the twins.
Thats when Jinora walked out with a near nine month old pregnant stomach.
"How you feeling?" Sean asked helping her down.
"Oooh. This kid is really wanting to come out." Jinora said.
"Be thankful it's gonna be soon with those pills that makes it go by faster." Korra said giving Junior his food.
"Mmm. At least Ikki and Meelo aren't here to make fun of me." Jinora said.
"Heh!" Sean said before getting an alert and pulled out a holodisk showing Thrawn.
"Theres been a unique development regarding the Planet Harvest." Thrawn said.
"Harvest is a farming settlement with no strategic value." Sean said.
"So were Rhen Var and Raxus Prime. And yet we were wrong." Thrawn said.
"Fair enough." Sean said.
"Sorry honey." Korra said kissing Junior and Bastila who cooed.
"Downsides of being Jedi and in a war." Oola said as Six picked Junior up.
"That depends on your point of view." Six said rocking Junior who cooed.
Later
Up above the Planet Harvest a new cruiser created for the Task force known as the Spirit of Fire flew right above the planet.
"You gotta admit those matter changing factories really made a nice new cruiser." Carth said as they were above the planet in their own cruiser.
"Indeed." Thrawn said.
On the Spirit of Fire was it's Captain from this universe known as Captain Cutter.
"Serena. Situation update please." Cutter said as the Ship's AI appeared.
"Standard orbit Achieved. All systems normal." Serena said.
"Prep for Pod Launches. Bring Weapon systems online." Cutter said.
"Expecting trouble, Captain?" Serena asked.
"Harvest may be ours again but I don't think the empire appreciate that just yet." Cutter said as Sean and Korra walked in along with one of the Legion's top scientists known as Anders.
"Forge? Whats the situation down there?" Sean asked as he appeared on the screens.
"Definitely plenty of bad guys down here, Commander. And they found something in the ice." Forge said.
"That would explain why they're here. Something is buried here that they found. Probably another Sith Relic." Anders said.
"Sargent Forge, Pull back to Alpha Base. I'm sending you some backup." Cutter said.
"Roger that. Forge out." Forge said ending his transmission.
"So nothing too difficult?" Serena asked.
"Only time can tell." Sean said.
Later
Forge along with Inferno squad were scouting out the area the Sith were at.
"Lets take one last look-see." Forge said using binoculars to see.
In front of some old gateway was a Sith who's body was badly injured but still somehow alive before one of the lower ranked Sith approached him.
"The council grows impatient. We can delay no longer."
"What if there are traps in wait for us?"
"I care not for your pathetic Life. Open the gateway."
The gateway opened up after that.
"What do we have here?" Hask asked.
"We'll find out soon enough." Iden said as they left.
The Sith with the badly injured body turned showing a badly injured face with the right eye all white before seeing they were gone making him frown before walking inside.
Meanwhile
"From the description you gave it sounds like Darth Sion." Sean said.
"The Sith who can't die?" Iden asked.
"The one and the Same. Though technically he can be killed. You just need more destructive methods." Sean said.
"I don't remember meeting him during the Civil war but I heard rumors about him. Supposedly the very person who trained Revan also made him into what he is today." Carth Said.
"My father's old Master was a Sith and Sion's master?" Sean asked.
"Thats the Rumor." Carth said.
"Yikes." Korra said. If Revan was as famous as he was because of his master who knows how dangerous this person was.
"So Sion and the Sith empire are down there looking for something. Question is what?" Reznov asked.
"That is what we are going to find out." Korra said.
"Forge here. We just captured the gateway. Some kind of old Structure inside. Sith are all gone. Commander, you should see this." Forge said.
"Roger that Forge. On our way." Sean said.
Later
"Damn." Reznov said seeing the large amount of dead droids.
"So what were they trying to get?" Sean asked.
"Not sure." Forge said showing them some glowing sphere.
"This isn't gonna be like the Force Harvester again is it?" Del asked.
"I don't think so." Sean said pulling out a device to scan it. "According to this old thing this is harmless." Sean said as Anders moved to touch it.
"You sure you wanna do that?" Iden asked.
"Nothing ventured...Nothing gained." Anders said touching it as it started glowing before a chart to a sector appeared. "Now thats not what I expected." Anders said as Sean looked around.
"I recognize these stars." Sean said.
However unknown to them was that special Sith troops appeared in camouflage.
"Remove this Filth!"
One of the clones yelled getting shot.
"TAKE COVER!" Sean yelled as he and Korra pulled out their lightsabers seeing the new Troops.
"Purge troopers!" Korra yelled as they fired on them.
"Uh, Spirit, Forge. We're gonna need a little backup!" Forge said.
Outside the situation was no different.
"Alpha base won't be able to send reinforcements in time. I'm sending you some tanks from the Weapons division." Cutter said as two unique tanks dropped down.
"Grizzly tanks. Your little pet project Forge?" Korra asked as they started blasting the enemy getting them to scatter. (Grizzly tanks from Halo wars. Wish they used them in the other halo games)
"The other universe might be less advanced but they have a lot of potential." Forge said.
"No kidding. Lets get moving." Sean said as they rushed out.
Later
"So all this device did was point here?" Carth asked.
"In the one minute we had to examine the object? Yes. All if did was point at another Star System not far from here." Anders said as it appeared.
"Arcadia colony to be precise." Serena said.
"Theres nothing much really there other than a vacation resort." Tarkin said in hologram form.
"And yet we keep running into strange artifacts in places that to our views mean nothing. Theres something there. And I think it's important we get to it before the Sith do." Anders said.
"Our orders are to investigate harvest. We still don't know much about that structure down there." Cutter said.
"I'll have members of the Task force investigate it. Set course for Arcadia. We need to get there and fast." Sean said.
"I agree." Tarkin said.
"Very well. Serena set course for Arcadia." Cutter said.
"Aye, sir. Crazy trip to Arcadia. Spinning up hyperdrive." Serena said making Sean chuckle.
Later
Spirit of fire soon came out of Hyperspace seeing some small amount of destroyed cruisers.
"Situation update." Sean said.
"Two Sith heavy cruisers appeared and battled against three Venator class star Destroyers. The first Sith cruiser was destroyed while two of our own were badly damaged and the other is venting atmosphere. Second vessel is engaged in surface activity." Serena said.
"What kind of Activity?" Korra asked.
"Unknown. Wait...I'm getting a signal. Audio only." Serena said playing it.
"We're being overrun...Still evacuating the space port...We need help."
"Getting visuals now." Serena said as she displayed them on the screen showing clones and the like fighting against the Sith.
Thats when they saw the newest of special troops that were created from this alliance fighting against the Empire.
Spartans.
Specially enhanced soldiers who could take down even Sith Warriors depending on the Sith in question.
"Get everyone on the ground now!" Sean yelled.
Later
After evacuating the planet they were going over something new.
"So it's a new Ray shield they can deploy on the planet." Korra said.
"Yes, we can't see through it. But the Empire is up to something." Anders said.
"Agreed. Can we use the ship's canons and take it out directly?" Cutter asked.
"We'll just destroy whatever is under there. This new shield however is vulnerable to super heated plasma. Doesn't the Task force have Plasma based tanks?" Anders asked.
"Plasma Based Rhino tanks. Recently in development by the Task force created from the Company of ATLAS which is the main source of advanced technology in that universe." Serena said.
"It may take some time to get the right power source. I'll need to be on the ground to do that." Anders said.
"Forge. Get that shield down." Sean said.
"Right away." Forge said.
Later
The Rhino tanks managed to make a hole directly into the shield allowing them to destroy enemy structures inside it before everyone went inside.
"Now what do we have here?" Iden asked seeing another sphere like before.
"I'll give you one guess what happens next." Korra said placing her hand on it before new star Charts appeared.
"These of the unknown regions. What are they looking for?" Sean asked.
"Probably another Sith Relic." Forge said.
"No, the way these guys are moving and add to the fact they keep finding these...I don't think even they know." Korra said.
"Then what are they after?" Hask asked.
"We'll find out soon enough. Cutter I want the coordinates put in now. We'll be up shortly." Sean said.
"Understood." Cutter said.
"What do you think they want?" Korra asked.
"I have no idea." Sean said.
Later
Spirt of fire along with several Star Destroyers exited Hyper Space.
"Where the hell are we?" Forge asked.
"I have no idea. But scans are showing something that I once thought was long gone during the days of the Old Republic. Rakghuls." Sean said seeing hundreds of them on the surface.
"Wait a minute. You mean those mutant freaks the Sith made?" Korra asked remembering this story from Dooku.
"The very same. Biosignature and energy readings match old archive data. So whatever is here is from the days of the old Republic." Sean said. "I had heard rumors that a large Cargo ship for the Old Republic got lost in the unknown Regions full of them. It must have crashed here." Sean said.
"What are they looking for?" Serena asked.
"Thats what we need to find out. Search for anything out of the ordinary." Sean said.
Soon the Spirit of fire was right above the ocean.
"Theres a signal coming from below us." Forge said.
"Are you sure we're at the right place?" Sean asked.
"Fairly sure. Initiating deep scan." Serena said scanning the area. "Docking? Cleansing? Thats not right. Commander, you are not going to like this." Serena said as the sea split apart.
"Whoa!" Korra yelled as a gateway opened up before they were pulled in.
"Whatever we're looking for is hidden deeper." Forge said as they went inside as the gates closed.
"This is all part of the plan...Right guys?" Serena asked making Sean roll his eyes behind his mask.
Soon they came out the opening.
"Whoa." Korra said seeing they were actually inside the planet.
"Sith Technology?" Iden asked.
"No...This is something older." Sean said before they came to some platform.
Arriving on a gunship they went to the center.
"Now what do we have here?" Sean asked seeing another sphere before touching it.
The whole sphere began to glow before designs appeared in front of them. Designs Sean was familiar with.
"Oh you gotta be kidding me." Sean said.
"What is it?" Korra asked.
"This isn't Sith technology at all. This is Rakata Technology." Sean said.
"Rakata?" Forge asked confused.
"These are the guys who made the Star Forge my father once used during the days of the Old Republic. They once enslaved the whole galaxy to make this thing. This must be where they kept all their technology designs." Sean said quickly downloading it.
"How correct you are." Sion said making his presence known as did a small handful of Sith warriors.
"Oh great." Korra said.
"You let us find this place so you could claim it for yourselves." Forge said.
"That I did. And now you will hand over everything you have found. Or suffer the consequences." Sion said making Sean frown before grinning.
"I got another idea." Sean said taking the downloaded data before pulling out a lightsaber and stabbed the device making it spark before small explosions occurred all over the place.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!" Sion roared.
"Making sure you can't get your hands on this technology and making sure no one else can ever use it again thats like you. So you have a choice. Fight us for the data and most likely have all of us killed and still lose it. Or we can all leave and live." Sean said making him growl knowing it was a lose-lose situation if they fought.
Growling Sion and his forces pulled back to their ship before Sean and the others did the same getting back to the spirit of fire before flying out of the same entrance from before.
Leaving the inside of the planet it began to explode ending any hope of the Sith of ever learning the Rakata's technological advancements.
Later
"So this whole time they were looking for Rakata technology." Tarkin said looking at the designs.
"Considering they advanced faster than most of the galaxy you can see why they wanted it so bad." Sean said.
"I've already seen just how powerful that technology is." Carth said.
"And the Star Forge designs are in this. Meaning we could rebuild it." Garrick said.
"It took them a long time to build that thing. And if we want it to be larger and more advanced we would need to divert some of our forces away to help with the construction time. Which we cannot afford. And even with the Matter Changing factories...It would take years before it would be finished. And then theres the inspections that come after to see if there are any flaws during the construction." Tarkin said.
"So we're probably gonna have to to wait till AFTER the war to build that." Sean said.
"Great. We get something that can turn the tide in our favor and we can't even built it yet." Korra said.
"Better it be in our hands and not have it made than have the Sith have it and use it against us cause the last time they did they nearly overwhelmed the Old Republic." Sean said.
"True enough." Tarkin said.
Later
Jinora screamed as she was in the process of delivering.
Sean's personal doctor Ann Possible right now was helping her along while Sean held her hand.
"It's all right." Sean said making her groan.
"I regret ever letting you touch me." Jinora said annoyed making him scoff.
"Uh huh. Sure." Sean said as she groaned louder.
"AHHHHH!" Jinora screamed before they heard soft crying.
"There we go." Ann said taking the baby away as Jinora panted in exhaustion.
"I'm not doing this again for a long while." Jinora said making him grin.
"Say after the War?" Korra teased making her glare before Ann came back with a pink bundle before handing it to her.
Jinora's daughter had white skin but had black hair before opening her eyes showing she had her father's forest green eyes before giggling at them making them smile.
"Black hair?" Korra asked.
"Technically I have the DNA of Every species in the galaxy so it's not far fetched this would happen." Sean said.
"Oh yeah." Korra said as Jinora cried holding her.
"She's beautiful." Jinora cried making them smile.
"Why don't you name her." Sean said making her smile.
"Satele Shen Kruger." Jinora said giving her grandmother's maiden name as Satele giggled at them making them smile.
Even though they were in the midst of a war with much more greater dangers in the future. The Future itself was still bright for them.
Authors Note: And with that the Rakata's legacy does not fall into the Sith's hands. And now Sean and Jinora's daughter is born.
