Chapter 20 Battles of the Legion
It's been a month since the remaining legacy of the Rakata was found and destroyed by Sean and his forces to keep it out of Imperial hands.
And since Jinora gave birth to her daughter Satele.
Now things were becoming more intense across the galaxy.
Right now Members of the council were meeting about something involving Hiroshi.
"Hiroshi has built massive droid factories On muunilinst. Building massive armies and new weapons of destruction. We must act quickly." Obi-Wan said.
"I agree. But the question is who do we send? Korra is still on Dantoine and Turok is leading raids against imperial occupied worlds." Tarkin said.
"I'll lead the space assault with Anakin. Kenobi will lead the ground assault with everything we currently have." Sean said.
"I suppose..." Tarkin said before the doors were kicked down.
"YOU HAVE SOME NERVE!" Krennic yelled.
"Oh what do you want now?" Sean asked.
"I demand Thrawn be thrown out of the Legion and arrested for theft!" Krennic yelled.
"Hmm?" Thrawn asked.
"What are you on about now?" Tarkin asked.
"I just learned he stole my Tie designs and making them for his own!" Krennic yelled.
"I thought the Tie initiative was shut down because there were no shields or anything on them." Sean said remembering that debate.
"That initiative was. My version however fixed all those flaws. It's called the Tie Defender Initiative. heavy Shields, Hyperdrive, Turbo lasers. As well as some upgrades from ATLAS." Thrawn said.
"Oh so this is a different version thats not pathetic like the originals." Sean said smugly at Krennic who glared.
"Yes. It's not theft if it's your own design." Thrawn said.
"But it started from my initial design!" Krennic yelled.
"A lot of projects are started from inspiration from other designs. It's not really theft." Sean said making him growl.
"Your objections are pointless as per usual. Now leave." Tarkin said making him glare.
"This is not over." Krennic said.
"Whatever." Sean said as he left. "So the Defender initiative. How close is it to completion?" Sean asked.
"Theres currently a prototype ready for deployment. I was gonna test it at the fields." Thrawn said.
"I got a better idea. I'll test it in this fight. What better way to actually see it perform than an actual battle." Sean said.
"I agree. This will make a good test run." Tarkin said.
Later
In a room Kenobi walked into seeing troops.
"Arc troopers and Spartans, you have been selected for this task because you are the best, the elite, You all know what to do. The success of your mission will help bring a swift victory. When you get into position, send word as planned. Then I will join you." Kenobi said walking out.
In the room were high level Arc troopers and Spartans with the best Spartan they had.
The Master Chief.
Sean was inspecting the Tie Defender with Anakin as Kenobi walked to them.
"I must admit Thrawn's designs are impressive." Kenobi said.
"Yeah. Thats because he actually knows what he's doing unlike Krennic. His original designs were pathetic." Sean said. (This is why I like Thrawn and Tarkin better. They don't act like a spoiled brat who doesn't get his way like Krennic does)
Soon the fleet came out of hyperspace seeing some stations up above the planet before droid fighters came out before Legion forces came out.
Sean's Tie Defender and Anakin's upgraded Jedi fighter also came out.
"All fighters on me." Sean said before the battle commenced.
While this was going on hundreds of gun ships flew off the cruisers directly to the planet.
"Master Chief, Deploy." Kenobi said.
"Yes, sir." Chief said as his gunship flew in a different direction.
Arriving outside the City Kenobi narrowed his eyes seeing rockets.
"Evasive Action!" Kenobi yelled as some of the gunships got hit.
On the ground were a verity of droids and Sith. (Heres what I don't understand. Where were all the other tanks and other droids in the TV series like those rollers and spider tanks? Why weren't they included?)
Dropping to the ground the Legion army loaded off before beginning their assault on the city.
Inside the City the Master Chief and his team were heading for the target location.
Only for a droid to spot them and fired a rocket at them and hit them making them crash down. (I'm amazed how cool they kept it when that happened)
The Chief jumped out looking around.
"Rocket launcher." Chief said getting one of the Arc troopers to hand him one before he started firing on locations where the droids were at.
"All clear sir." Fordo said.
"Lets move." Chief said as they got out and headed for the location.
Arriving just under the main gun that was keeping Legion forces out Chief pulled out a holodisk.
"General Kenobi. Target in sight." Chief said.
"Very good Chief." Kenobi said.
Up above a droid walked past the edge when a grappling hook hit the side making him stop and look down.
Only to get shot as Chief and his team jumped up and easily took down the droids before one Sith charged in but Chief grabbed him before shooting him in the head. (I'm sure even the Chief could take almost Sith on)
Placing explosives on the gun they moved up the tower as it exploded.
(I was gonna do the Mon Calamari part but the Clone wars Arc was way better and more exciting you know?)
Later
Sean flew in the Tie Defender taking out several droids easily before one tried hitting him but didn't even get past the shields.
"I take it back. This is a hundred times better than Krennic's stupid Tie fighters" Sean said impressed taking out several droids.
Anakin flew to a large squad of them before taking them out.
"Sean, We need to start taking out these platforms or they'll just keep sending more droids." Anakin said.
"I know. Focus any available firepower on them to help take them out.
Down below
Kenobi and his forces were easily overwhelming the Droid armies pushing them back into the city.
Heavy cannons were bombarding the city making their numbers thin down.
At the main base however though the Muun's were going over the battle.
"Those guns are destroying our forward positions! The Legion is breaking through!"
Thats when the place shook making them look around.
"Sir, our cannon at the base of the tower has been destroyed."
"Their range is greater than we thought."
"It must be they're Artillery!"
"What are we going to do? What are we going to do?"
He looked at an armored person in the room.
"I don't know why Hiroshi sent you here if all your going to do is stand around."
Only for him to grab him by the throat.
"I mean...Whenever you're Ready."
The only reply he got was a growl.
Outside there was a large number of assassin droids on speeder bikes before the man known as Durg ceame out before getting on his own unique speeder with a lance before they charged out of the base.
The Legion continued to push through easily.
Thats when Durge and his droids came out with their lances and killed them quickly.
While this was going on Kenobi observed the battle.
"Sir, our forces are suffering heavy casualties." Hask said making him look seeing Durge making him frown.
"Mount up." Kenobi said.
Two more assassin droids took out two tanks.
Only for them to get hit by something making Durge look.
On speeder bikes were Obi-Wan and Several clones with their own lances. (This was my favorite part of the battle)
Both sides charged at each other but with the droids being heavily outnumbered they were destroyed easily.
All that left was Durge before he and Kenobi charged at each other but Kenobi's lance was destroyed and his helmet.
Pulling out his lightsaber he tried again and destroyed his speeder and lance.
Charging at him Durge grabbed it making him jump off before slashing it and then stabbed him in the chest.
Only for Durge to start laughing making him widen his eyes before getting punched backs several times before jumping back before he launched a large amount of poison darts at him but he used the force to block them.
Then he tried using a flamethrower but same thing happened before Kenobi crushed it before pulling back his lightsaber as he pulled out a metal spiked club but it got cut.
Pulling out his blasters the same thing happened so he had shields come out of his arms blocking his blows but it was in vain as Obi-Wan cut off and arm and then slashed him from the waist down as he fell over dead.
A hologram of the Chief then appeared.
"General, we're in position." Chief said.
"I'm on my way." Kenobi said getting on a speeder and rushed off.
Had he stayed he would have seen Durge repairing himself. (Always make sure your enemy is dead)
Arriving at the site Obi-Wan drove his speeder up a building before jumping and landed next to the Chief.
"General." Chief said.
"Lets end this battle." Kenobi said.
Inside the Muun's were still watching the battle.
Only for the ceiling to blow up before the Arc Troopers and Spartans dropped in and took out the droids and purge troopers easily.
"General." Fordo said holding the leader.
"Mercy, I beg you, I am merely a banker."
"That is entirely up to you and your unconditional surrender." Obi-Wan said before Durge flew in but quickly got shot down by the troops before getting hit by Rockets.
"Control room secured." Fordo said.
"Don't be so sure." Chief said as the men moved in.
Only for an extended arm of muscle to throw them all back.
Durge now mostly void of armor was all boneless before he started attacking Kenobi as the troops fired on him but it did nothing.
Rushing at Kenobi he pulled him inside him. (Ugh! That was disgusting)
Fordo launched a cable before it started to electrocute him but he sent it back.
Thats when he started expanding and groaned in pain before blowing up showing Kenobi. (Now why aren't they as powerful as this in the Tv series?)
"General, are you all right?" Fordo asked.
"I'm fine. Seems I created quite the mess now, haven't I?" Obi-Wan asked amused.
"Yes, sir." Fordo said as the Chief pulled up some destroyed debris showing the cowering Muun.
"Now where were we? Ah, yes, I believe you were surrendering." Kenobi said making him smash his fist down.
Obi-Wan took the helmet of Durge not seeing his remains move away.
Up in space
Sean was flying his Tie Defender around taking out several droids.
"I'm definitely putting this into production when we get done." Sean said before seeing a large number of droids coming out of a hanger.
"We're started to get overrun here." Anakin said.
"I got this." Sean said flying into the hanger before taking it all out as the whole platform exploded.
"Commander, almost all the platforms have been destroyed...Wait whats that."
Only for Gold Leader and the rest of Blue Squadron to be destroyed in one second shocking him and Anakin.
"We just lost blue squadron. Two fighters have..."
"I see them." Sean said seeing two fighters. "Anakin, you handle the rest. These two are mine." Sean said following them to the surface.
Sean lined up his sights with one of them before blasting the wing before it came back and tried to blast him but the shields held.
"These ain't no droids." Sean said following them to the City before blasting one of the buildings.
"What was that?" Kenobi asked.
"I don't know, General." Fordo said before the fighters passed them.
"That wasn't one of ours." Obi-Wan said.
"No, General." Fordo said before Sean passed them.
"that was Sean." Kenobi said.
"Yes, General." Fordo said.
"Sean." Kenobi said.
"Not now." Sean said trying to blast them.
"Your supposed to be leading our forces in space." Kenobi said.
"Anakin is handling it. These two showed up and took out an entire squad. And I sense the force with them. I can't let them get away." Sean said following them back to space.
"Sean, I'm also sensing something strange. But you must let those ships go. They're baiting you." Kenobi said.
"Baiting me or not I can't let them go. Something is up." Sean said following them into Hyperspace.
"I got a bad feeling about this." Kenobi said. (STOP SAYING THAT!)
Meanwhile
On the planet Dantooine a farm boy rushed up a hill seeing the battle between the Legion and empire.
Korra was leading this fight with using both her lightsaber training and bending.
"Keep pushing them back!" Forge yelled blasting several droids.
Tanks started firing on the droid armies before suddenly...They stopped.
"Huh?" Korra said confused.
"Uh...What just happened?" One of the troops asked before feeling a shadow over them.
"Mm?" Korra said looking up and noticed a large tank over them. "Oh hell." Korra said.
"What is that?" Forge asked.
"Thats a Seismic tank...RUN!" Korra yelled as her troops pulled back before it sent a fast metal cylinder down making a wave that scattered everyone away.
"I don't suppose you have a sollution for this?" Forge asked before she entered the Avatar State before launching several rock spears at it piercing it before it exploded easily.
"I'm surprised the Empire even made that. They aren't really meant for battle." Korra said.
"What are they for?" Forge asked.
"Their usually used for mining operations. But I guess the Empire must be making anything they can to give them an edge." Korra said.
"Korra." Kenobi said on the comms as she pulled out a holodisk.
"What is it?" Korra asked.
"Sean's gone after two assailants after they took out one of his squads. I need you to get here as soon as possible." Kenobi said making her frown.
"It never ends." Korra said.
Meanwhile
Sean's Tie Defender exited hyper space above Yavin 4.
"And the Hyperdrive is a complete success as well. This thing is going through into production." Sean said making his way to the planet before landing outside the temples.
"Hmm. I remember Sifo-Dyas mentioning these temples when I first arrived with Korra. It would make for an intresting base of operations. And maybe even old secrets are buried here." Sean said walking around.
Walking through the jungles Sean began to sense someone around.
"Someone is here." Sean said before an object landed next to him making him look seeing it was an explosive before it went off.
Standing there uninjured and unfazed Sean dusted himself off.
"If thats the best you can do I suggest you leave." Sean said before two people dropped down.
The first was a female Dathomirian who had grey skin and dark blue eyes.
The second was a human female with black hair yellow eyes and white skin.
"The Son of Revan. You will surrender and join the Empire." The first said.
"Yeah no. Who are you?" Sean asked pulling out his four bladed lightsaber.
"I am Ventress, Apprentice of Sion and she is Grashi, Apprentice of Malgus." Ventress said.
"Whatever." Sean said as they pulled out red lightsabers before charging at each other.
Sean had fought both of them off easily before noticing Ventress's lightsabers.
"I know those lightsabers. Those are Vosa's." Sean said remembering her years ago.
"I'm glad you know them. I took them off her dead corpse years ago." Ventress said making him glare before attacking her faster and hard making her grunt before he kicked her into a tree before blocking Grashi's strikes and threw her into the temple which Ventress followed.
Growling Sean went inside looking for them.
Walking up the stairs he snarled before blocking their strikes as they went further up with him attacking them faster shocking them by his skills before they came outside the temple.
"Fight me all you want. But you have no idea what I can do." Sean said before they fought up to the stairs of the temple before coming up top.
Sean continued to fight them off till Grashi managed to slice his lightsaber in half making it fall down.
Ventress tried to strike him quickly.
Only for him to grab her with one hand before taking off his mask showing his sickly yellow eyes as she screamed when he crushed one of her hands making her drop a lightsaber before getting pushed back to Grashi.
Sean levitated the lightsaber back up before glaring at them.
"AHHH!" Sean roared charging at them as they blocked most of his attacks before they were on their backs as the ground beneath them started to crack before it gave under them.
"AHHHHH!" Ventress screamed as she fell to her death before she was pierced in the head by a rock killing her instantly.
As for Grashi however though.
She widened her eyes seeing him holding her from falling before he pulled her up.
"You...Saved me? Why?" Grashi asked.
"Mmm. I don't know. I guess perhaps I see you have potential for good." Sean said making her scoff.
"I'm not a good person." Grashi said.
"Don't be so sure. My father and my mother turned to the dark side...And yet came to the light. Just because someone stumbles and loses their way...Doesn't mean their lost forever. Sometimes we all need a little help." Sean said before turning to leave.
"Where you going?" Grashi asked.
"Back to Muunilist. I have no interest in fighting nor killing you. But I do hope in time you change for the better." Sean said leaving walking down the temple while she just sat their with a confused expression.
Later
The Battle on Muunilist went on the Legion's favor.
"Sir, Commander Kruger's fighter is arriving." Fordo said as his Tie Defender landed before it opened up showing Sean who jumped out.
"What are you doing here Korra?" Sean asked seeing her.
"Obi-Wan called me in. So what happened?" Korra asked.
"The usual. The Sith tried to ambush me." Sean said.
"This is exactly why..." Kenobi tried to say.
"I'm not a kid nor a Padawan anymore Obi-Wan. Besides you don't get to make the calls in military action. Thats my responsibility." Sean said making him sigh.
Thats when they got an alert before pulling out a holodisk.
"Commander Kruger!"
"Master Barrek?" Sean asked.
"Need an immediate evac from planet hypori. All of our forces are totally destroyed. Only a few of us left. New Imperial General. He's unstoppable. Cannot hold out for long. General...Is hunting us. Must..." Only for something to slash him.
"If I recall correctly Aayla and Shaak Ti are with him." Korra said alarmed making Sean frown.
"Forge! Get our forces ready. Chief, I want every Spartan you can find here." Sean said.
"Yes, sir." Chief said rushing to find them.
Meanwhile
A large number of droids stood outside a downed Star Destroyer. (Another thing Every Star Destroyer from Clone wars to Empire era exists in this series)
In the downed cruiser stood the remaining Jedi.
"Unstoppable. He is unstoppable."
"I always thought Sean or Korra would be the only ones to cause this kind of damage. This new General makes our odds much more concerning." Shaak Ti said.
"This is the end. We're all doomed."
"Our Predicament is dire, but do not despair. Focus, we are Jedi." Mundi said.
"Jedi." Grievous said startling them. "You are surrounded. Your armies decimated. Make peace with the force now for this is your final hour. But know that I, General Grievous, am not completely without Mercy. I will grant you a warrior's death. Prepare." Grievous said.
Thats when they heard heavy metal Footsteps.
"He is coming." Mundi said.
"We can't face him."
"We must try, Padawan." Mundi said.
"Where is he?"
"He's all around us."
"Concentrate." Mundi said before the Padawan screamed charging out.
Only to get stomped on by Grievous showing his Cyborg body.
"Get back." Mundi said as he jumped in before attacking them with two lightsabers easily overpowering them
Thats when one of the Jedi tried to attack him from behind only to get slashed and fell dead.
Shaak Ti pushed some debris at him but he slashed through it easily before stomping down one Jedi before grabbing Aayla and threw them up to the top.
Grievous charged at Shaak Ti next before ramming her into some rubble.
"No." Mundi said.
Later
A few gunships soon arrived before taking out the droid army as Sean and the others arrived.
"Two survivors. One in the rubble. Another in the rafters. Everyone else with me." Sean said as the men charged forward.
Thats when they came to see a nearly exhuasted Mundi fighting.
"Grievous." Sean said getting his attention.
"Ah, Kruger. It has been some time." Grievous said before they charged at each other.
"Everyone in." Forge said.
"No! We must engage." Mundi said.
"We don't have time. The survivors will die." Korra said making him frown before Sean threw Grevious into the rubble and got on the gun ship before flying out away from the planet.
Sean looked over both Shaak Ti and Aayla.
"They'll be fine." Korra said.
"What about the others?" Mundi asked.
"Dead. Your lucky you survived against Grievous. I know him personally from a few past battles. He's not someone you take lightly." Sean said. (Which is sad he wasn't like that in the Series but here he was almost unbeatable)
Authors Note: And with that the Clone wars take a turn for the worst with Grievous involved with the empire. I plan to make him more like his Cartoon version and less like the Clone wars series.
