Chapter 9: Fly, Oracle Savior!

In the area of the Boiling Isles that was at the edge of what was once the Titan's left hand sat the Headquarters of the Oracle Coven. The Coven's headquarters had various buildings that resembled temples for mediation, crystals that jutted out of the ground that were used to harness and focus their particular type of magic. Some had been set up specifically for different intensities of meditation, and other areas were set up for more spiritual conjuring. Here, Oracle Witches can meditate and focus on their magic, as it requires more mental and spiritual concentration to make it work. On this day, Osran, the Coven's Head Witch, was sitting outside meditating by the Boiling Sea as he heard the crashing of the waves.

Suddenly, the ground started shaking, the leader of the Oracle Coven did not move an inch as the ground fissured. A couple of feet away from the Osran, the ground burst apart, and from the ground emerged a strange creature about seven feet tall. It had gray skin, black hair, blue eyes, a black beak, a huge beard with a wattle under its chin, large claws and large feet. It also wore typical mining clothes. In its hand was a large pickaxe. This was the Priestess of Neo Shocker, Chicken Miner.

Osran just kept meditating as all this was happening.

"The Priestess of Neo Shocker, I presume?" he asked with his eyes still closed.

Chicken Miner was shocked at this. "How did you…?"

"Yesterday, we foresaw a strange creature attacking our headquarters, so everyone stayed home today." Osran explained, "Our visions of the future have been muddled as of late, what with all the Phantom attacks before. Still is to some degree. So, I stayed so I could confirm our suspicions."

"Wait, ya chose to stay?" Chicken Miner asked in disbelief, "Are ya a witch with mighty powers, or a dope with a death wish?"

"We also foresaw a man on a weird, flying contraption." Osran added.

Just then, a man flew in on a hang glider and landed in between the two of them. He had khaki pants, a white, black, and blue t-shirt, and a red helmet.

"I'll take it from here, Osran-san." the man said, "You just get out of here."

"No thank you, Hiroshi Tsukuba," Osran replied, "I'll just sit here and watch."

Hiroshi did turn at the fact that Osran knew his name, but quickly turned his attention back to Chicken Miner, who was fuming.

"Why you…" she muttered, "I'll blow ya varmints to smithereens!" She then produced a lit stick of dynamite and threw it at Hiroshi.

Hiroshi tumbled out of the way to avoid the stick of dynamite which exploded behind him. Chicken Miner threw a second, but Hiroshi jumped out of the way just in time. He then landed on the edge of the shoreline.

"Here I go!" he yelled. Hiroshi brought his right fist to side as he thrust out his left arm. With his palm open, he made a wide circle motion before stopping his arm at an angle, and very quickly, bringing that left arm into a fist at his side while thrusting his right arm to the left.

"Sky…Henshin!"

Suddenly, a silver belt materialized around his waist. Hiroshi then jumped into the air as multicolored light was released from the center of the belt. However, he disappeared from view.

"He vanished! Where, where is he…?" she asked.

"Right here!" a voice called out. Chicken Miner turned towards the direction of the voice and saw a figure on the top of a hill. The Legendary Rider had a light-green suit with black gloves and boots. The chest plate armor was light-brown in color, with the sleeves of its arms the same color. The Rider's helmet was the same light-green color, with large, red compound eyes, two silver antennae, black markings around the eyes, and a silver mouth plate, the overall helmet resembled the likeness of a locust. Around his neck was a red scarf with black spots upon it, fluttering in the wind.

This was Skyrider.

Osran just sat there meditating while Chicken Miner was shocked.

"Who the hell are ya?" she demanded.

"Skyrider!" replied the Rider.

"Skyrider?!" exclaimed Chicken Miner.

"I'm coming for you, Chicken Miner!" yelled Skyrider. He then flipped through the air to engage the enemy.

"Get him!" Chicken Miner yelled as Hooded Followers popped out of the ground and began to attack Skyrider.

Skyrider landed on the ground just as the Hooded Followers popped out of the ground. The Legendary Rider immediately kicked the first one in the chest, sending him barreling into his comrades. Skyrider quickly punched another, knocking them out cold, but just as he did that, a fourth was about to pounce on him. However, before the Hooded Follower could make a grab for him, Skyrider reached out and grabbed them, and tossed them into the side of the cliff. Another foolishly ran at him, thinking they'll catch him off guard, but Skyrider quickly does a lariat maneuver, making them spin around his arm before the Follower hits the ground. For good measure, Skyrider performed an elbow drop on that same Follower, effectively knocking him out. A Hooded Follower jumped up and prepared to stomp on Skyrider, but the Legendary Rider managed to roll away and spring to his feet as he came in with a karate chop to the back of that same Hooded Follower's neck.

Another two were about to attack, but Skyrider struck with a right hook to the face of the first one and followed up with a spinning roundhouse kick to take out the second. Four more Followers charged straight for Skyrider, producing blades from their sleeves as they readied to cut him down. As they were slash with their blades, Skyrider threw another spinning roundhouse and snapped each of their swords in half. The Followers stared in shock at their broken weapons, allowing Skyrider to jump and do another spin kick, hitting all four of them and knocking them away. The last one tried another sneak attack, but Skyrider went down one knee and elbow struck him in the Follower in the gut as soon as he got close. Skyrider grabbed that follower and tossed him over his shoulder, where he landed about three feet from Osran's left, and despite all this commotion, the future seer was just sitting there, sipping on tea.

Chicken Miner growled in frustration due to the incompetence of her lackies. With little recourse left, Chicken Miner entered the fray. She jumped into the air and came down with a haymaker, but Skyrider managed to block it with his right forearm, causing the sand around them to be pushed away from the force of the impact. Skyrider took advantage of how wide open her guard was as he struck her in the side with a karate chop to her right side, followed up by a snap kick to the lower beak, and finally, an empowered punch to the chest that sent sparks flying into the air as Chicken Miner skidded across the sand away from him. After stumbling a bit, Chicken Miner threw a stick of dynamite on the ground and after the explosion, seemed to have vanished. But Skyrider was not about to give up.

"D-Eye! Infrared Scope!" he yelled, his eyes glowed as he scanned the landscape. When he scanned the cliffside, he saw the heat signature of Chicken Miner.

"There she is!" He then jumped into the air and yelled "Sky Turbo!" He then landed on his personal motorcycle and sped towards the cliffside.

"Rider Break!" He yelled as he popped a wheelie and crashed through the cliffside and into a cave system.

Once inside the cave, he quickly caught up with Chicken Miner, who was rapidly using her pickaxe to dig her way through.

Chicken Miner heard the crashing sound, quickly turned her head around, and went, "BA-CAW!?"

Skyrider decided to take Chicken Miner for a ride as he crashed into her with Sky Turbo. "RIDER BREAK!" Skyrider continued to drive through the makeshift tunnel that Chicken Miner made, crashing through one rock layer after the other with his unfortunate hood ornament taking the brunt of each impact. Skyrider angled his bike upwards, after two to three minutes of riding, they broke out of the cliffside and back onto the shore. Skyrider brought his bike to a halt just and threw Chicken Miner off the bike where she rolled along the sand, now in a daze from the continuous damage she had taken.

"You…low down…dirty…oh, my head…"

The Legendary Rider dismounted his bike and then jumped. Skyrider flipped through the air and yelled, "Sky Kick!" Skyrider's energy channeled itself into his right foot as he thrust it forward and kicked Chicken Miner in the chest, sending her flying. She crashed onto the ground but still managed to get back on her feet.

"Why…So regrettable…" she yelled as fell back down and exploded in a smokey and sparky destruction.

After watching the smoke clear, Skyrider turned to see Osran still sitting with eyes closed, sipping his tea.

"You seriously just sat there, sipping your tea, while a fight took place in front of you?" he asked in disbelief.

Osran kept his eyes closed as he replied, "Pretty much."

Skyrider just stood there before he said, "Alright then." He then turned around and pushed down the two levers on the sides of his belt and yelled, "Sailing Jump!" He then jumped into the air and took off into the sky.

Notes:

A Big thanks to Michael Ravencroft for completing the fight scene.

Fun Fact: The Chicken Miner's appearance is a cross between Chickenstein and Miner 49er from the Scooby-Doo franchise.
