Later in the day we heard the announcement. "The Jade Mountain Academy Pokemon Tournament final round! Starshot from the Platinum winglet and Moonwatcher from the Jade winglet will meet in a 6v6 roaming pokemon battle in the middle of the festival grounds!" Sunny shouted from a platform in the festival grounds. "For those that don't know what a roaming battle is, it will be a multi-skirmish battle. After one pokemon faints, the competitors will have two minutes to trade items, and pokemon with the vendor's around the festival for scales which are earned by battling dragons on the festival grounds. Both contestants please head to the north and south for your bags of scales and five rental pokemon to start the challenge!"
"Shit the one thing I did not prepare for a rental team." I think as I hand most of my team over to Kinkajou. "Take good care of them." I tell her as she takes them out of their balls.
"So you're taking them with you then?" She says as my Dragapult and Dreepy are not in the line-up.
"If it's against the Hydragon then they should do fine." I say turning to run off. "Oh and if she asks where I am, tell her the south." I say running off to the north gate.
"The battle begins in 5 minutes competitors to the north and south gates!" Sunny shouted as the Pokemon were given out and scattered across the festival.
"Hawlucha is a good starter." I say as it jumps off a stand and onto my back. "Guess you are ready to go then let's get you high in the air Ichi you mind flying him up there?" I ask as the dragon shoots up at high speed putting Hawlucha at a spot to glide around the festival grounds.
"Competitors ready?" Sunny shouts from above the festival. "Your first two minute grace period starts now!" She said, blowing a whistle.
I ran off heading for the east side of the festival looking in trash cans for items and trading some scales for a pokemon. I pulled the tag off the pokeball that it was on. "Houndoom ok lets see what it knows Flamethrower, Dark Pulse, Toxic, and Nasty Plot not bad." I say as the buzzer for 2 minutes comes up.
"Fights begin now!" Sunny says as I lock eyes with a dragon who has his pokeball in his hand.
"Houndoom!" I call as the black dog with bones along its back jumps out of the ball.
"Machoke!" The mudwing calls out as I see Moon run by me.
"Houndoom Flamethrower!" I shout, ending it in one move and receiving 20 scales from the battle.
"Haw!" Hawlucha shouts, landing in a fighting stance as Moon walks up.
"Starshot." Moon says as the pokemon that she just traded to counter the Houndoom came out. "Fight me." She said, holding her head down.
"Shar!" The Sharpedo called out as Hawlucha gave me a thumbs up.
"Right then Hawlucha you're up." I say as we started the battle.
"Sharpedo Aqua Jet!" Moon shouted as the blazing fast shark pokemon hit Hawlucha into the air.
"Flying Press!" I shout as the bird pokemon dives onto the shark hitting it and causing it to be blasted back.
"Sharpedo use Crunch!" Moon commanded.
"Hawlucha deflect and counter attack with Karate Chop!" I shout as they clash over and over.
"Haw-" Hawlucha cries and faints.
"Sh-sharp-" The Sharpedo lets out as it faints bringing round 1 to a tie.
"Let's go Hawlucha return." I shout running off to the nearest stall to trade scales for some items. "Hello sir." I say to the nearest shopkeep on the other side of the festival from where Moon ran.
"Ah you are one of the competitors aren't you? What can I get for you?" He asks as I point to the Spell Tag and Charcoal.
"How much for both of them?" I ask as he grabs them off his shelf.
"Fifteen scales for you competitors." The skywing says.
"How does teen sound?" I counter the offer.
"Fourteen kid." He says trying to squeeze as much out of me.
"Twelve or I walk off." I say starting to put away my bag.
"Deal." the Skywing says after the bartering.
"Thank you Hawlucha for scouting out the festival." I say to myself as Ichi, Ni, and San fly up to me disappointed. "You guys too, thanks for the help."
"Starshot!" I hear as Clay walks up to me.
"No time to get going, only thirty seconds before grace ends." I say running off to the stall down from where I am.
"Good luck." Clay Shouts as I trade seven scales for a Lombre.
After a few battles with some random dragons I was up to 41 scales. "Let's head out to buy that Leaf Stone for Lombre." I say to Ichi as we leave the cover we hid behind to avoid Moon. "How much for your Leaf Stone?" I asked the nightwing vendor.
"It will cost you thirty scales." She says as I buy the stone and see something in the corner of my eye. "How about I pay 41 for the red and black marble like ball in the back." I say eyeing the ball.
"Well no one wanted it and it's the last day so sure I'll sell it to you for 41 scales." She says as I buy both items. "Houndoom Lombre came out." I say seeing Moon rushing towards me. "Quick Lombre take this and Houndoom this is yours." I say throwing the Leaf Stone at Lombre, and grabbing a piece of cloth and tying it around Houndoom's horn.
"Well Starshot looks as if your shield is wearing off. I guess location won't be a problem now." Darkstalker says with Moon looking more worn out.
"So then I guess you can read my mind then huh." I think as Darkstalker listens.
"Of course I can read, I'm not illiterate like you." Darkstalker says as I notice the partial translation.
"Ludicolo you're up." I say as it dances to the front line.
"Vaporeon. Go." Moon calls out with a whisper of Darkstalker in her voice.
"Leech Seed." I tell Ludicolo as the seeds are planted around Vaporeon. "Don't move or get Drained of your life."
"Vaporeon Ice beam." Moon calls out as the attack hits Ludicolo pushing it back.
"Ludicolo you can still fight right?" I ask as it tangos back into battle.
"Luuudi!" It shouts.
"Good then hit it with a Giga Drain!" I say as it spins its arms together in a circle.
"Ludididi." It said as the life force came out and he absorbed it.
"Vaporeon Ice Beam once more." Moon commands now sound more lifeless.
"Ludicolo you can take it!" I say as the beam hits. "Ludicolo finish this with another GIga Drain." I say running off in the other direction as the attack lands.
"The score is 1-0 after the 2nd round with Starshot in the lead!" Sunny called out as I rush of to do more shopping.
