Gray Fox and the Hellhound

Chapter Two: Welcome to the Family

Years ago…

It was a rainy night in Russia, a lone castle located on a mountain, as various soldiers patrolled the walls, eyes peeled for intruders, as well as artillery cannons mounted on the walls. From the look of this imposing castle, it looked impregnable.

However, within the forest nearby, a lone figure stalked through the forest, currently in a crouch and slowly inching closer until the castle was in view. The figure in question wore a skin-tight sneaking suit, equipped with a Dragunov SVD sniper rifle, a A-M20 SMG, and a Desert Eagle semi-automatic pistol, as well as a katana sheathed at her side, the young girl in question having pale skin, red eyes, and short hair pulled back with a black bandana.

RING RING! RING RING!

Bringing a hand up to her ear, she pressed a finger against her earpiece, as a voice spoke through.

"Loona, do you hear me?"

"Mo-er, Boss, I hear you." Loona stated. "Loud and clear."

"This is your first official mission on your own," The Boss explained. "Your target is a communist, goes by the name 'Big Tank'. He's been staging an uprising to overthrow and take over Russia and cause a nuclear war. Our client wants us to put a stop to it by any means necessary."

"So, my job is to put a bullet in his head, right?" Loona asked.

"And demolish the castle while you're at it." The Boss added. "There should be some explosives inside you can use to get the job done."

"I'll get it done." Loona nodded before disconnecting.

Her mission set, Loona crept towards the castle, carefully avoiding the line of sight of the guards watching from the walls. Attaching a silencer, she aimed her sniper rifle at the guards on the walls and, with deadly precision, took them out with silenced rounds before advancing, climbing the side wall using the various cracks in the wall, as well as some convenient bars and bricks sticking out.

'Like that one video game about visiting the ancestors,' Loona thought to herself.

Reaching the top, Loona hid herself behind one of the crates then peeked over to see a pair of guards standing watch over the door that leads inside. Grabbing a discarded bottle, Loona tossed it to her right, causing the other guard to go over to investigate, while the other watched from afar.

This proved to be a fatal mistake, as Loona snuck up behind the guard near the door and slit his throat with her knife, before pulling out her silenced pistol and shooting the distracted guard in the back of the head, killing him instantly.

Loona then snuck through the door, slowly and carefully making her way down the stairs, all the way down to the basement level, finding several explosives.

Smiling, Loona gathered as many timed explosives as she could carry before making her way upwards, planting the explosives in key parts of the castle, before soon reaching the double doors to the main office. Peaking inside, she spotted a large Russian man, who seemed to be arguing with someone on the phone.

Her target in sight, Loona gently pushed the door and snuck inside the office, gently closing the door behind her and slowly making her way towards the desk, the Russian man just arguing away on the phone and his back to his would-be assassin. Close enough to the desk, Loona stood up and pulled out her silenced pistol and stood at the desk, waiting for the Russian to finish up and realize that he wasn't alone in the room.

"I don't care how you get the job done!" The Russian man yelled. "Just get it done!"

And with that, he just slammed the phone down, huffing as he turned around, jumping in shock at the sight of Loona.

"Big Tank, I assume?" She asked casually.

"Who are you?!" The Russian demanded. "How did you get in here?!"

"That's not important anymore." Loona replied. "You know why I'm here."

"Are you an assassin?" Big Tank asked. "Whoever hired you, whatever they pay you, I'll pay double!"

"That's not how this works." Loona said with a shake of her head before leveling her pistol at him.

"So, I'm to die then?" The Russian growled. "Killed for fighting for the freedom of Russian people?!"

"Either way, it doesn't matter." Loona shrugged before pulling the trigger, sending a bullet into Big Tanks head, killing him instantly.

Her target dead, Loona moved over to the window and swung it open before pulling out a black book. Opening the book, she chanted a few words as a portal opened hovering over the ocean before she then stood perched on the ledge before pulling out a device and pressed the switch, setting off an explosion that went off throughout the castle, as she then proceeded to swan dive down through the portal, before being caught by a pair of strong arms.

"Gotcha!"

Looking up, she looked into the eyes of a lion demon wearing a black sneaking suit, his main messy and dark brown with some gray in it. Looking around, she saw that they were both within a room with metal walls and flooring.

"Thanks for the catch, Big Bro." Loona said as she smiled up at him.

"That's 'Big Boss' to you, young lady." Naked Snake replied with a chuckled before setting her down.

The two looked up to see the castle explode before the portal closed above their heads.

"Let's head topside." Snake suggested. "The Boss and the others will be waiting."

Nodding, Loona followed Snake out of the room before going out onto the main command platform, located out in the Ocean of Wrath. Ever since she was adopted by the Boss, Loona had been put through rigorous training for the past few years, learning the system of CQC, Close Quarters Combat, as well as learning to use a large array of firearms, as well as stealth infiltration, information gathering and sabotage. Since then, she had grown to respect the Boss and see her as a mother figure and more than just a leader to take orders from.

Then there was Big Boss, who she had met during her training. Admittedly, she was wary of the older soldier at first, but after learning about his past and all the hardships he faced, she grew to understand him and even accept him as an older brother, who also served to help her with her training.

With the combined efforts of The Boss and Big Boss, they were able to establish a new base of operations out in the Ocean of Wrath; a new Outer Heaven.

So far, she has been coming a long way since she was first adopted.

After taking a moment to take in the horizon, the duo got into one of the cars and drove across the bridge before soon arriving at another platform, both getting out to be met with The Boss accompanied by four other individuals. One of them was a reptilian demon with green scales and yellow reptile eyes, as well as a forked tongue that would stick out whenever he hissed.

The second one looked like a forest spirit, comprised mostly of wood, with only the human eyes and mouth that appeared.

The third one appeared to be a heavily armored demon with a flaming skull, and the fourth one looked like a human beehive shaped like a person.

"Glad to see you return, Loona." The Boss said with a smile. "Seeing you have returned means you've completed your mission, yes?"

"Big Tank won't be starting revolutions any time soon." Loona said with a smirk.

"Good to hear." The Boss smiled. "The client will be pleased."

Loona nodded before noticing how BB and the Cobra Unit was surrounding her in a circle with The Boss.

"Loona, we've been talking, and I think it's time." The Boss declared. "You have proven to be able to keep up with the best of us, even with myself and Jack here." She then stuck her arm out. "Are you prepared to be one of our inner circle?"

Loona nodded eagerly before taking hold of her mother figure's hand, "I am!"

The Boss smiled before nodding to Big Boss, the older soldier stepping forward and placing an Outer Heaven patch on the right arm of Loona's suit.

"And the new blood joins our unit!" The Pain rejoiced, as a few bees swarmed his head. "It's about time!"

Big Boss smiled before taking notice of a female panther demon approaching, wearing nothing but her strap over her large breasts and panties underneath her hole riddled leggings, a pair of boots and a sniper rifle strapped on her back.

"Quiet!" Big Boss greeted. "I trust V's doing well?"

Quiet nodded with a smile and a slight blush on her face. After falling into Hell, Quiet and Venom Snake were the first two individuals Naked Snake had encountered and the first few friends he ever reunited with, the three watching each others backs until they had the funds and allies to build a new Mother Base in the depths of Hell.

"Good to hear." N. Snake nodded before handing her the black book. "Make sure you return this to Blitzo so he can get his employee back, okay?"

Quiet nodded before she disappeared before The Boss approached at his side.

"I see your new friend is doing well." She said. "She and your body double have been extremely helpful."

"V's been in my place for a long time back in the land of the living." Naked Snake replied. "He's helped build up the Diamond Dogs and established a new Mother Base, bigger and stronger than ever. I trust him with my life."

"It always helps to have people to watch your back, especially in Hell." The Boss nodded.

Naked Snake nodded and felt his communicator go off. Pulling it out, he saw Blitzo's face appear on the screen.

"Hey hey hey, Big Boss man!" The imp declared with a big grin. "How's it hangin', partner in crime?"

"I take it your man made it back okay?" Snake inquired.

"Yup, and thanks for sending the grimoire back!" Blitzo said. "Fox just came through!"

"Can I speak with him?" Snake asked.

"Sure, one sec!" Blitzo said before turning off to the side. "Hey, Fox! The Big Boss Man wants to see ya!"

The sceen then shifted before settling on Gray Fox.

"Hey, Frank." Snake said with a friendly smile. "How've you been?"

"I've seen worse." Fox replied with a shrug. "Blitzo has been treating me well and the pay is good, thanks to you."

"I just gave them the kick in the ass they needed to get their business off the ground." Snake said. "The rest they did themselves."

"You still did much to help, Boss." Fox responded. "And thanks to you, the soldiers condemned down here have a place to call home."

"Yeah, better than leaving them on the streets or to be used by the local overlords." Snake added.

"You've done good, Boss." Fox said. "For me and everyone forsaken here."

Suddenly, the image changed back to Blitzo, "Hey, Boss Man! Is Boss Lady there?!"

"She is." Snake replied, smirking a bit. "You wanna talk to her?"

"If you don't mind~." Blitzo replied overly eager.

Rolling his eye, Snake gave the device to The Boss, who looked at the screen, "Hey, Blitzy~."

"Hey there, good lookin'." Blitzo said with a smirk and finger gun hand gestures. "What's shakin', bacon?"

"I'm doing well, Blitzo." The Boss chuckled at Blitzo's attempt to be charming. "I trust things are well with your company?"

"Oh, things couldn't be better!" Blitzo declared. "Thanks to Bee Bee and Gee Eff, my business has been booming and clients have been callin' one after another!"

"Well, I'm glad you've been keeping busy." The Boss said.

"Say, I won't be busy this weekend." Blizo pointed out. "Think we can hook up sometime?"

"As long as you're not busy with Stolas, I'd be interested." The Boss said with a smirk.

"Ugh, don't remind me." Blitzo cringed. "Anyways, see ya then, toots!"

The call ended and The Boss returned the device to Snake.

"I still can't believe you two ended up becoming an item." The Big Boss said.

"To be honest, I agree." The Boss said with a chuckle. "But I have no regrets, and he seems to bring so much joy in my afterlife, ever since the Sorrow was killed during the Extermination Day."

"I'm sure he'd want you to move on and be happy." Snake said.

"You're right; he would." The Boss nodded.

The two looked out over the waters of the Ocean of Wrath, watching the blood red sun set over the horizon.

Present day…

It was a quiet day for Gray Fox and Loona, as the duo drove through the Imp City streets in Fox's Ford Ranger pickup truck, with Fox in the driver's seat while Loona sat beside him, both sitting in silence as Loona simply tapped away on her phone. The pair had just finished some grocery shopping, at Blitzo's insistence, and were now on their way home, with Fox driving calmly, even with the crazed traffic going on.

For a moment, Loona looked up from her phone and looked at Gray Fox, seeing how calm he seemed even with the wild traffic. She could never understand how he does it.

Soon enough, they arrived back at this I.M.P. building, getting out of the truck and both grabbing bags of grocery's before heading for the door, Fox pulling out the keys to unlock the door and entering, noticing that the lights were off.

"Did Blitz head out?" Loona inquired with a raised brow.

"Unlikely, their van is still here." Fox pointed out, a hand pointing towards the beat up I.M.P. van. "Something is off"

Loona moved towards the door frame and flipped the light switch up…

"SURPRISE!"

As soon as the lights came back on, the three I.M.P. imps popped out from their hiding spots, popping confetti and shouting, surprising the two. Loona seemed greatly caught off guard by this, but Gray Fox seemed impassive; at least, that what it seemed, his expression covered under the mask he almost constantly wore.

"Today is a special day, you two!" Blitzo declared. "Today is the day that Foxy and I started our business, as well as the same day that Millie and Moxxie joined! But most importantly," He pulled Loona in for a hug. "It's the same day that I adopted my little Loonie here!"

Loona growled, but a gentle hand on her shoulder from Fox seemed to calm her down.

"You did not need to pull something so extravagant." Fox tried to say.

"Please, I insist!" Blitzo quickly said. "You and Loona have been great contributors to the company, and I couldn't ask for better! And I want to express how much I value you both!"

Gray Fox smiled under the mask, while Loona gave a small grin before it quickly vanished.

"Also, we've got a little surprise for you!" Millie declared.

"Come on down!" Moxxie called up the stairs.

Footsteps could be heard, before a figure came into view, making Loona's eyes go wide at the sight of the lioness standing at the bottom of the staircase.

"Mom?" She managed to say.

"Hello, Pup." The Boss said with a sad smile. "How long has it been? Five, six years?"

Rather than answering the question, Loon'as only reply was to leap into her mother's arms, hugging her tight and crying into her shoulder. Blitzo watched the scene with a sad smile, Millie and Moxxie practically crying at such wholesomeness. And Fox? A simple smile under the mask.

And there's the new chapter! First, I'd like to apologize for taking so long, again, but work has been a pain in the ass lately, and I've been trying to help with caring for the new dogs we've got at the house. But don't worry, I'm trying to write more often and frequently so I can get the chapters out more on a consistent basis, but we all know that's never possible. I only ask that you be patient with me, as I do my best to update as soon as I can.

And so, we see Loona and her interaction with the Boss, Cobra Unit, and the Big Boss himself! I do plan on making a story about Naked Snakes time in Hell and how he started working with I.M.P., his reunion with Venom, Boss, and so on. I hope you guys look forward to more to come! Also, I'm trying to make sure the characters in Metal Gear fit due to the time periods in which they die. So if I get something wrong, I again apologize, and I will do my best to correct those inconsistencies. So feel free to let me know if I get something wrong.

And with that, I hope you all stay tuned, and reviews are greatly appreciated!
