Chapter 26-Dumbledore's private lessons.

Harry was to meet with a security detail at Potter Manor the day that the train for Hogwarts was to leave from there to pick up the Weasley's at number 12 Grimmauld Place and go to the train station from there. Hermione would also be at Potter Manor when the security detail got there. Safety was now the number 1 priority for Harry for the order, so they weren't going to risk anything bad happening while traveling to the train station. James and Lily made sure that Harry was packed with everything the night before so when the members of the order did show up, they wouldn't have to wait for Harry as they knew that they were on a tight schedule. James and Lily made sure that Harry got up early in the morning so he would be on time when the order got to the house.

"Harry the order is here." Lily called out as the members of the order arrived to pick up Harry

"Ok coming mom." Harry called out bringing his stuff down the stairs and into the entrance of the house.

"Ok are you sure that you have everything." Lily asked as Harry got down the stairs

"Yes, mom I have everything, and I already ordered my potions book to the school, and it should be there next week." Harry answered knowing what his mom's next question was going to be.

"Ok have a good year at school Harry." James and Lily said together as Harry left with the order after giving hugs to both his parents as well as giving Emily a hug as well.

As Harry left James and Lily watched as Harry left for his sixth year at school hoping that this year would be better then the previous 5 years but deep down knowing that this year would be worse than any other year that he had before.

Harry had found a compartment with Neville and Luna. Harry was hoping for a nice relaxing train ride the calm before the storm as he knew that he would have a busy year but of course with his luck he should've known that he wouldn't get that. He was really looking forward to just sharing a cabin with his friends but of course Slughorn had invited him to join him in his cabin he also invited Neville to join them as well. James had warned Harry about Slughorn's club, but Lily didn't seem to mind it, so he decided to at least give it a try before writing completely off. He thought he probably wouldn't know anyone but Neville there since Hermione had prefix duties and she hadn't been able to show off to Slughorn yet. He was disappointed that indeed Hermione wasn't there but, he was surprised to see Ginny there and since he actually enjoyed the company of Neville and Ginny he decided to stay.

By the time that the Slug Club as Professor Slughorn had called it had finished Hermione and Ron had finished their prefix duties he was surprised as well as Ginny was when he found out that she was invited because she had hexed someone and Slughorn instead of reprimanding her invited her to his Slug Club.

"Hey, Harry, where were you?" Hermione asked when he got back to their cabin.

"Oh, I was just at this meeting with the new teacher who likes to make connections with the successful and well-connected kids." Harry answered.

"Who was all there?" Ron asked.

"A lot of people whose parents are famous your sister was there as well because she hexed someone, and Professor Slughorn was so impressed with it that he invited her." Harry answered.

"How was it?" Hermione asked.

"Absolutely dreadful I think that I'm going to try to avoid them as much as possible." Harry answered.

For the rest of the train ride, they talked about the upcoming school year and how things were going to change with Snape being the Dark Arts teacher and Slughorn now being the potions teacher.

The day overall was uneventful as Harry had already known most of the teacher changes happening, he at least had a month to prepare for Snape teaching Defense whereas the rest of his classmates had only a day to comprehend that.

Harry was eager to start his new lessons with Dumbledore as he knew that whatever Dumbledore was going to teach him was going to help him best Tom Riddle, he was more motivated then ever to beat him as he now had a family to fight for to make the world a better place for them. Dumbledore wasted no time in starting the lessons as they were to start as on Harry's third day back, he had booked Harry to a lesson.

Harry had thought tat these lessons were going to be advanced magic lessons if he was being honest with himself but, instead his lessons with Dumbledore was looking through old memories with Dumbledore. He learned the origin of Voldemort and that he indeed was a descendent of Slytherin family.

"Hey mom dad." Harry called into his mirror after his lessons with Dumbledore.

"Hello Harry." They called back. "How has school been since you got back?"

"It's been alright." Harry responded. "Actually, on the first day of class I was able to brew the draught of the living dead perfectly and I got Felix Felicis as my prize."

"I'm so proud of you Harry." Lily said.

"I see that you got your mother's potion making skills as she also won that." James added.

"Yeah, I'm not sure what to use it on though." Harry said.

"Just make sure that you use it wisely." Lily said.

"So, after brewing that potion perfectly was Slughorn begging you to come to his Slug Club meetings?" James asked changing the subject.

"Yeah, he invited me to Slug Club meeting on the train and he re-invited me after I brewed the potions." Harry answered.

"Are you going to go to them?" James asked.

"I don't know." Harry answered. "Maybe I will if Hermione gets invited and wants to go."

"I think you should considerate Harry I had a great time at them." Lily said.

"Yeah, I'll think about it." Harry answered. "How is Emily doing?"

"She's doing well she's finally starting to fall asleep at night so we're actually getting sleep now." James answered.

"We actually just put her to bed, so you just missed her." Lily said.

"Oh well it's good that she's finally starting to fall asleep during the nights. Harry said as he heard footsteps coming up the stairs and Ron knocking on the door signaling that his roommates were coming up. "My roommates are coming so I'm going to have to go."

"Alright goodnight, Harry." James and Lily said as they disconnected.

"So, Harry did you ask your parents about the Half-Blood Prince?" Hermione asked the next day at breakfast.

"No, I didn't." Harry answered.

"Harry, you should've asked them I know that you didn't tell them about the blood pen last year and this time if you don't ask them by next week then I will write to them myself." Hermione said.

"Don't worry about it Hermione I'll be getting my new book next week and it won't be a problem." Harry said dismissing the subject.

"Alright then." Hermione said not convinced that Harry would give it up by the time the new book came.

Harry continued his private lessons with Dumbledore in the meantime learning more about Tom Riddle Harry thought that he was going to learn more advanced magic with Dumbledore and at first, he was disappointed that they were going through the old memories but now he appreciated it as he was learning about Tom Riddle. School was going the same and when Harry's new potions book, he only switched out the cover as he was now acing potions with the half-blood prince's potions textbook. It was also giving him help in other subjects as well. As the year progressed on Harry started to learn more about Tom Riddle and him collecting a lot of relics of the old Hogwarts founders and when Dumbledore finally gave him the final clue on how all of them were related to each other through the memory of professor Slughorn and his insight on the horcruxes though the memory was tampered with. This was where Dumbledore gave him the assignment to get this memory from Slughorn which meant that he would have to go to the Slugclub parties now.

Harry now had two things to dread he was now dreading defense with Snape and also having to now go to the Slugclub parties. Harry really didn't want to go to the Slugclub parties but if it helped in getting an advantage over Tom Riddle then he would do it. Harry was excited for the first quidditch match of the year though he knew that he had a really solid team this year considering they won it last year and they didn't loose that many players because he was suspended along with Fred and George and now that he could play seeker again Ginny could move over to chaser. With their first game coming up this Saturday he was all ready for the new quidditch year since he hadn't been able to really compete in quidditch since his third year since he was suspended last year and in his fourth year was the tri-wizard tournament was held that year, so he was excited to have a full year of quidditch ahead of him.

The first game of the year had come and gone with Gryffindor having a convincing win over Slytherin however, the day hadn't gone the way that he had hoped it would go for starters Ron wasn't confident going into the game, so Harry had made it look like he had put the liquid luck into his drink. That backfired on him like he couldn't believe Hermione was all upset about Harry putting the liquid luck into Ron's drink but when Harry revealed that he didn't actually put anything in Ron's drink Ron accused Hermione not having any faith in him. To add insult to the injury Ron went off and kissed Lavender Brown in front of the entire common room and that just caused them to row even further and now they weren't even talking to each other. It was at times like this when Harry was grateful that he was able to communicate so easily. After making sure that Hermione was alright, he went back to his room that was luckily was empty.

"Hey Mom, Dad." Harry called out into the mirror

"Harry!" James called back into the mirror. "Lily it's Harry."

"Look who it is Emily." Lily said as she was holding Emily in front of the mirror.

"Hi Emily." Harry responded excited to see his little sister.

Emily was reaching out towards Harry smiling happy to see him. Harry was so happy to see Emily as usually she was in bed by the time that he talked to his parents. Harry was so happy that he almost forgot about his friends having troubles.

"You caught her right before she's going to bed." Lily said. "Say bye Emily."

"Goodnight Emily." Harry said before Lily left to put Emily to bed.

"Can you wave Emily?" James asked as he started waving at Harry to show Emily what to do. As Emily started to do what James was doing. And Harry waving back.

"Wow she's so big now." Harry commented.

"Yeah, it's crazy how fast she's growing." James responded.

"I'm having a little trouble in school with my friends right now they're in a bit of a row." Harry said.

"Is it Ron and Hermione?" James asked.

"Yeah, it's the two of them." Harry confirmed.

"What happened?" James asked.

"Well, it started with me faking putting in liquid luck into Ron's drink because he was nervous about the game and then Hermione was mad at me for putting liquid luck in his drink except when I revealed that I didn't Ron got mad at her for not believing in him." Harry answered.

It was at that point that Lily had returned from putting down Emily to sleep so James filled her in on with Hermione and Ron.

"So, you want to know how you can get the two of them to stop rowing?" Lily asked.

"Yeah, I don't know really what to do." Harry answered.

"To be honest Harry there's not a lot that you can do." James said.

"You need to be there for both of them because you can't really take sides with either of them as that will just make them row further." Lily added.

"Time will heal things between the two of them eventually they will make up." James finished.

"Thanks hopefully they'll make up soon." Harry said after taking a moment to think about it.

"Anytime Harry we'll always be here for you." Lily said.

"I should probably get to bed so I'll talk to you soon love you." Harry said.

"Ok we'll talk soon love you, Harry." James and Lily said as the call ended.

Harry felt better after talking to his parents and it was really nice to see Emily again and he went to sleep feeling much better now.
