Chapter 3

Verse

"It's blowing up, everyone is reposting and sharing it."

All I saw was her fist clenching. Next thing I knew was Rin was straddling me trying to punch me. I grabbed her tiny wrist. Flipped her over and pinned her down.

"Kohaku, you ass hole." I let her go allowing her to fix herself.

"I'm sorry Rin, I know you told me not to post it but."

"I told you not to."

"Why? What's wrong with sharing your talents?"

Rin looked away from me.

"Talk to me Rin. Why are you afraid to create? Sango told me you used to be in a performing art school when you were younger." She walked away to the nearest window. "We all know you're hiding who you truly are."

"Things change." She sounded very hurt. "And that was such a long time ago."

I stood up to stand next to her. I couldn't watch her act like this. Then I continued.

"I'm sorry. I'll."

"It's okay." She interrupted. "I guess I can't run from my past. Ever since that tragic day I haven't been interested in performing."

Kohaku listened to his friend. He knew deep down inside Rin was hurting. Losing your whole family to a drunk driver at the young age of eight is a nightmare.

From the tiny age of five she was accepted into a performing arts academy. Dance class was her favorite as she made plenty of friends and had fun. Practice her techniques in the large mirror. After that, she studied music and took up singing classes. Each quarter they had to showcase their progress.

Singing and dancing were a part of Rin's daily practices. Her mother and brothers always supported her. Even though her father worked very hard he invested all that he could into his daughter. Rin was never in need of a thing.

Until that one day.

"Rin. There's an emergency." I was confused as I looked at my teacher. Her face looked troubled. I was the only student being called. When I left the dressing room I felt an errey vibe. Looking into the crowd, I was trying to see if I could see them.

My principal and a police officer were in the office. They looked down at me. Moments later the room became fuzzy. Cold. I looked at my teacher and she hugged me.

Mom, Dad, brothers…

Fuck. Tears. I was crying. Kohaku hugged me, wrapping his arms around me. I felt sad, I missed my family. But now I was letting Kohaku in on my sadness. He shouldn't have to worry about me. As he rubbed my back, he gently grabbed my chin and lifted my head up.

"Rin it's okay to feel this way. Don't bottle it up. Losing your family is horrible, you have no choice but to have those feelings." He hugged me tighter. "It's how you deal with those feelings that make you how you are. I know you probably feel even worse for crying right now but let out. Express yourself and live life Rin. That's the only advice I have."

Kohaku's words impacted me. Positively. I felt that even though he couldn't feel pain he wanted me not to feel sad. After hugging it out for a few more minutes I pushed Kohaku off and sat on my bed.

"Thanks Kohaku. You're truly a great support. I'm sorry for even putting you in this weird position."

"Rin, your secret is safe with me." She giggled.

"You're too much."

"So do you forgive me for posting the song?"

"Ugh, let me see how many plays it has?"

He pulled out his phone and showed me.

77,717 plays.

"What the heck Kohaku? Is this real?"

"Yes and it hasn't even been up for twenty four hours."

Rin didn't say anything for a few more moments. But she grabbed the phone and looked at it.

"I'm still mad at you but I'm not going to make you delete it."

"Oh well I would never."

"Sure. I could make you."

"Rin, I'm trying to make an album with you." Kohaku's tone switched completely.

"That was just for fun. That's all you're getting out of me."

Kohaku watched as Rin sashayed out of the room. He was mesmerized by her beauty. The girl grew up into a very beautiful young lady. Her cuteness didn't stop at her attitude.

"Rin, dear you must come sit over her and chat." One of Kagome's friends, Ayumi, waved at me. She was adjacent to Kagome and Eri. Running over Rin took a seat.

"So tell us, you're seventeen now… Any guys in your life?" Everyone around the table looked at Rin. Kagome felt the tension and tried to interrupt.

"No Kagome let her talk." Ayumi covered Kagome's mouth. "So is there someone special?"

"Um no," Rin's eye's landed on Kohaku. He was across the large living room talking to the men. Rin noticed he was almost the same height as Inuyasha and Miroku. "not at the moment."

"Well soon right?" Eri continued. "You're seventeen. Don't wait too long to have fun."

"Okay I had enough. Don't push her." Yuka was sipping on wine.

"Oh now you want to talk." Ayumi chatted.

"Yuka's right. Let my sister take her time. She should wait till she finds the right guy."

All the girls got quiet. Sango walked in with some shots.

"Shot's ladies?" Everyone grabbed a glass besides Rin.

But Sango had an extra shot left on her tray. Kagome reached for it and put it in front of me. She winked at me.

"Come on, just one shot. Rin, can't hurt." Sango egged her on.

Rin shrugs and grabs the shot. They all toasted to Rin becoming a woman.

After a few more hours pass, Kagome's friends are gone. Inuyasha and Miroku ended up in the home studio playing around with some tunes. Sango leaves with the twins. Kohaku decided to stay a bit longer since he is Miroku's ride home. Kagome turned to bed.

Rin stayed up and decided to hang with Kohaku. He was currently in the pool while Rin had her feet only. They were smoking poolside. Kohaku was swimming back and forth.

As Rin was smoking she couldn't stop staring at the man in front of her. It was a wonder to her how she never noticed. Noticed how much of a physique the man had. When he took off his shirt to swim Rin found herself staring at him a bit too long.

Closing her eye Rin tried to push the ideas of him out of her head.

"Rin?"

Opening her eyes she saw he was swimming towards her.

"Let me hit that." He reached with his wet hands.

"No. Your hands are wet." She looked at his drenched hand.

"Shotgun me," Rin looked confused. "Oh I forgot you're new to this smoking thing."

After explaining what she needed to Rin took a deep breath. Kohaku got close to her face ready to inhale. Rin go closer and released the smoke.

As Kohaku got close. Rin felt like he was about to kiss her. She pulled back before completely releasing all the smoke.

"What's wrong, do I have you flustered Rin." The girl has a shocked expression. Slightly blushing. He grinned back at her.

This was too much for Rin to handle.

Kohaku started swimming towards the pools steps. As he stepped out Rin was drooling like a dog.

Wet.

The man was drenched from head to toe. His toned strong physique caught Rin attention dragging her in deep. His swimming trunks were short enough to show off his sculpted thighs. Years of training obviously was the reason.

Rin had enough. She wanted to test the waters. After all, he wasn't her real cousin.

After rinsing off Kohaku reached for his towel. To his surprise Rin was right there handing it to him. Trying not to show he was a bit freak out he smiled and went for the towel.

"Do you mind if you play some more beats for me?" Rin sang sweetly.

Kohaku wasn't sure he was hearing correctly. Just earlier she wanted to not make any more music. 'Oh she thinks she can fool me.'

"I'm a bit tired maybe tomorrow." He stepped away from her.

Rin pushed herself into him making him stop yet he bumped into her frame. Looking down, her body was hugging him in the most awkward position. His thigh rubbing against her crotch. Rin was short so it made this even odder. As her large brown eye gazed into his eyes she swallowed for dear life. Her peachy lips just calling to be taken.

Rin knew she had him stuck. She didn't know what she was doing but she loved doing it. She smirked back at his quivering eyes.

Now he knew she was trying to play. ' As hot as she looks right now I can't do this. It's wrong she totally like my cousin.'

"I gotta go."

And like that he was gone. Standing there alone and confused made her even more upset. He just ran off like that.

At that moment Rin swore never to try to hit on her "cousin" Kohaku.
