Chapter 5: So, You wanna be a Hero?
Review Replies
RedBurningDragon: Guess OFA and Ki would be like Super saiyan kaio ken..
Dragon Emperor0: … Huh. Ya know, I hadn't really considered that before.
ThermalsniperN7: Ditto.
Nathair1: I LOVE THIS STORY, WHEN ARE WE GETTING MORE CHAPTERS FOR THIS STORY? I found this story by chance and decided to try it
Dragon Emperor0: How about now? Thanks for giving us a chance, BTW.
ThermalsniperN7: What he said.
ProjectIceman: Oh wow Launch! Her personality is gonna make becoming a hero interesting
Dragon Emperor0: I think she'd be less of a hero and more of a general nuisance to everyone who generally works on the side of good. XD
ThermalsnieprN7: Very true.
ProjectIceman: Honestly surprised Izuku decided to accept OFA. Especially with his base power to destroy mountains and his penchant for getting angry. DO NOT MAKE HIM ANGRY. EVEN MORE NOW THAN BEFORE. XD Perhaps OFA will push Izuku into Super Saiyan status LOL
Dragon Emperor0: Think of it like Arthur picking Excalibur. He didn't have to do it, he was already kingly enough without it. But he took it to prove his status as a symbol.
ProjectIceman: Uh oh...Slimey chose the wrong one…
Thermalsnipern7: Damn right he did.
Suna Chunin: Chilai shouldn't show up till Frieza. Liking this fic so far
Dragon Emperor0: Noted. We'll scooch it over to season 2 or 3.
Freddielebron: Ok I just want to question how the fuck he is "going to get full cowl" by the sports festival? He has ki. Spreading it throughout his body is second nature. Also if his body can't handle the quirk and breaks, that's free Zenkais. Also 10 months and he hasn't had full cowl? Jesus. Don't make someone op and then hold them back for your machinations. It's pointless. He should be able to use OFA stupidly easy. Any damage? Zenkai, allowing him to use more of a percentage after he heals. Quirk singularity? He can easily use more than the minimum so he should've gotten the others quirks by now and spoken to them. There's just so much more that should've been happening and yet you glossed over stuff and haven't explained anything and are even trying to nerf him.
Dragon Emperor0: To be clear, we're using the Dragon Ball Super version of Broly here. Not the Dragon Ball Z movie version. That's because that version is explicitly canon. And, while it's been stated by Toriyama that these two Brolys are just the same characters in different situations, and thus should have the same powers. It's never been shown or stated (at least for DBS Broly) that he can use Zenkai and other skills yet or if he'd already learned them. So, we're playing it safe and assuming that he hasn't quite learned all of the intricacies of Ki and what it can do just yet. Hence why he didn't learn it even after 10 months. We're playing the long game here.
ThermalsniperN7: Plus, if we just let Izuku use all of OG Broly's power here, then this story wouldn't be as interesting.
Dragon Emperor0: Precisely. Power scaling and pacing my guy, it's important.
Freddielebron: Also can we point out the obvious question? How the fuck did he only have 40 points? He got like 20 points at the very beginning of the exam and he can fly to scout out where to see more robots. Him only having 40 points is beyond stupid.
Dragon Emperor0: The answer to that question hinges on two factors that were so brief in the story it qualifies as "blink and you'll miss it". The reason why Izuku only got 40 points was because 1. There weren't enough robots around to destroy so he could get more points due to how ravenously the other kids were going after them. 2. The Zero Pointer came before he could accurately assess the situation and try to find more robots. Forcing him to focus on rescuing Ochako and Himiko. Again, these are details that are brief so I don't blame you for missing them, but I still think you could have taken another look to check.
ThermalsniperN7: Exactly.
Beowulf-BX: Dragon Emperor0: Keep in mind, we don't know how strong Broly was in comparison to other saiyans as a kid. Only as an adult. No one does. So we're flying blind here. Wait, is this Broly from Z or Super? Thing is in Z we can see how strong he was as a baby, while in Super you would be right. Also, remember, in DBZ/DBS, power levels are bullshit LMAO!). I say have the badass bunny babe be part of the harem. Hell, she's pretty much a Saiyan when it comes to a good fight. How about One for All being similar to the Kaioken that Goku had for a while? One more thing, will you have any DBZA lines in this story?
Dragon Emperor0: We're using the canon version of Broly, which is DBS. Yes, Miruko will be the third girl in Izuku's harem. And, obviously yes, we will be including DBZA references in this story, what kind of Dragon Ball fans would we be if we didn't? Takahata101 for the win ba-by! Call me basic, but I know what I'm about.
ThermalsniperN7: Damn right. Just imagine the hilarious quips that can be thrown from both ends of the spectrum! It's gold!
-Himiko Toga's house-
"So, Himiko, have you made any new friends at school yet?" Akiko asked her daughter as the two ate breakfast, her father, Yukiro, was currently at work–again.
The girl looked up at her mother as she ate her breakfast, an omurice dish with her favorite hoshin ketchup and honey covered toast with coffee.
"Yeah, a few, actually." The blonde nodded, holding a piece of bread for Chisatori to eat.
"Oh good!" The woman sighed in relief, glad that her daughter was able to make some friends. "Care to tell me who they are?" She inquired.
"I'm pretty sure you already know Ochako." The shapeshifting teen began. "The next is honestly the tallest boy I've ever met. His name's Izuku Midoriya, and he's actually the one that saved me during the sludge villain incident." She continued, wincing slightly as she remembered the incident in question.
"Oh! I remember him!" The woman nodded in realization. "I can't help but wonder–just what are his parents feeding that boy?" She wondered aloud.
"The right stuff, if his height is any indication." Himiko quipped, both of them chuckling not even a second later. "Besides him, there's also Momo, our new friend Iida, and Tsu. We all met on the first day." She added.
"I heard about the Iida family. Something about them being heroes for generations, which gets them a fair bit of business." Akiko mused.
"Really? Huh, fancy that." Himiko hummed as she sipped her coffee. "... Mom?" The girl asked.
"Yes?" Her mother responded.
"Do you think… Do you think Dad's right? Is my journey to be a Hero a useless endeavor?" The girl questioned, picking at her food. The Toga matriarch frowned at the question, mentally cursing her husband for belittling their daughter.
"No, I don't. There are plenty of examples of villainous quirks being used for good, like Vlad King." She stated. "So I'm of the opinion you can fall under that sort of category." She added.
"Y-You think so too?" Himiko asked.
"I do." The woman nodded, getting a sigh of relief from her daughter.
"That's a relief." The girl sighed. "Glad to see Vlad King isn't the only one who believes I can be like him." She smiled, getting a smile from her mother as well.

Izuku sighed as he crammed himself into the metro station that took him from his home to the UA campus, and soon discovered what it felt like to be a sardine.
'I wish I could just fly. It would make things easier.' He thought. Deciding to at least try and pass the time, he pulled out his phone and went to see if he had any new texts.
As he did, he soon noticed that he indeed had a few, one from Bakugo wanting to know if he'd be making to the gym this week, one from Iida checking to see if he was, going to make it to class on time, one from Ochako checking to make sure he was alright–and one from Himiko.
"Hey Izuku~. Sleep Alright? *smooch emoji*" it read.
Just another check in text, but the way it was written made the Saiyan double take. He wasn't used to flirtatious banter… Wait, was this flirting? He honestly couldn't tell.
"I did." He texted back awkwardly.
"Yay! Guess that means we're both getting our beauty rest. See ya in class, big guy." The girl purred in her next text, causing the boy to blush. He also felt this way when he talked to Ochako on the phone as well, but for different reasons.
While Ochako was sweet and bubbly, like a beautiful flower or a cute puppy. Himiko was cute and alluring, like a kitten just learned to seduce its owner into loving it as much as said puppy.
Honestly, the poor gentle giant couldn't decide who he liked more.

The classes of UA, as Izuku had learned, weren't that different from a normal school. There was mathematics (Izuku's head wouldn't stop hurting from the complex equations), grammar and so on. He probably should've seen this coming in retrospect, since he was sure everyone would drop to the ground in exhaustion if it was nothing but hero work.
Lunch wasn't too bad, since it was Lunch Rush himself doing the cooking. Izuku paid him a lot to get enough to fill his massive belly.
"White rice certainly is the perfect comfort food, isn't it?" The hero chuckled heartily.
"I'm definitely not arguing there." Himiko nodded as she ate her fill of what looked to be simple sashimi, rice, and a bowl of rather simple curry.
"Mmm hmmm, this is super good!" Ochako nodded while Izuku was on his second bowl of ramen and a third Katsudon–which Iida was gawking at.
Then came afternoon classes, taught by, you guessed it…
"I AM HERE!" All Might exclaimed as he entered the room "Coming through the door like a hero!" He added as the class looked at him in amazement.
"Hey Whoa it's All Might!" One of the students exclaimed.
"So he is one of the teachers here! This year's gonna be totally awesome!" Another added.
"Hey, isn't that his silver age costume?" Tsu questioned.
"Yeah! It's so manly!" Kirishima exclaimed with a grin.
"Man, I'm getting goosebumps just looking at it, it's so retro!" Another student commented as the No. 1 hero stood in front of the class.
"Welcome to Hero basic training! Here's where you'll learn all it takes at being a pro. And what it means to fight in the name of good! Think of it as Heroing 101." The man explained to the class. "Let's get into it! This lesson will pull no punches!" He added, holding up a Battle card.
"Fight training?!" Katsuki uttered with a savage grin.
"Is it my birthday?" Izuku chuckled with his own grin, his warrior side showing.
"And one of the most important things about being a hero iiiiis–looking good!" All Might exclaimed as suitcases came from the wall. "These costumes were made based on the forms you submitted before school started! So get changed and meet me at training ground Beta!" He added.
"Yes sir!" The kids chorused as they all got up and took their respective cases.
'Years later, after holding onto it for so long, it's finally time for this to be used.' Izuku thought to himself as he recalled the revelation his mother shared with him.
-Flashback-
Izuku was currently trying to get his quirk registration forms in order while talking to All Might, who had a few ideas on how the boy could handle his current predicament. As he was talking, Inko walked in with a look of reluctant acceptance on her face, for some reason.
"Izuku? There's something serious I need to tell you." She told her tall son as he looked at her before holding up a finger.
"All Might, I'll call you back. My mom needs to have a word with me." He told his mentor.
"No worries. Don't keep your mother waiting." The man told him before hanging up, allowing the teen to focus on his mother.
"Yeah mom? What is it?" The boy asked, turning to face the woman who raised him.
"I have something for you." She explained as she took out a rather strange looking suit of… armor? Was that what it was?
"Where did you get this?" The tall boy questioned in confusion.
"It's best I show you. Come on." The woman beckoned as she slipped her shoes on and grabbed her car keys. Izuku grew more confused, but went to get ready for an obvious trip out of the house.
As they drove to a patch of woods outside of the city and Musutafu, Izuku looked at his mother and then at the armor in his lap, wondering if, whatever she had to tell him–if his father knew about it as well.
After a while, they stopped at a specific point in the woods… And Izuku knew this part of the land, somehow. Like he's been here before.
As he set the armor down and got out of the car, his mother led him into the trees somewhere, and he felt that sense of familiarity take over his thoughts. When they reached a clearing his mother stopped… In front of an old crater, which had some kind of old pod with a red tinted window in the center of it.
"Mom, what's…?" He started to ask before he saw the sad look on her face and in her eyes.
"Izuku, it may not seem like it due to some features you have… But you aren't mine and Hisashi's son." She told him with a sigh, causing the boy's eyes to widen and make him take a step back.
"What?" He uttered, feeling like he was hit by a meteor.
"I'm sorry, sweetie, but it's true." The woman told her now revealed adopted son sadly. "One night, Hisashi and I came out here to do some stargazing. It was quiet until we spotted a meteor careening towards us, which made us run away from the crash zone. When it landed, we couldn't resist the chance to look at a freshly fallen meteor… Only that's not what we found." She explained. "Instead, we found an alien pod sitting in the crater. We expected an alien invader to come out when it opened, but instead we found…" She continued before Izuku finished it for her.
"... Me." He said, the weight of the realization finally laying on his broad shoulders as he turned around and walked slowly to the pod, nearly jumping when it opened.
As the pod hissed open, Izuku looked inside and soon found it to be rather cramped and have nothing inside it, except for a small chain with an oval shaped medallion on it, almost like a dog tag.
The Saiyan slowly and gingerly picked the trinket up in his large hands and held it, before reading the odd symbols on it–which he could understand!
"Bro-ly." He read out loud to himself as he looked at the other side. "Saiyan Empire… Is that my real name? My real home world?" He questioned himself idly, before he shook his head, putting the necklace on.
The Saiyan Empire wasn't for him; if they abandoned him, then he refused to think of himself as one of them.
Inko watched her son put on the necklace as he walked towards her, fearing that he'd hate her for this. But, as she began to tear up, Izuku knelt down to her and slowly wiped her tears away, hugging her warmly.
"No matter where I come from, you will always be my mother." The boy told her as he embraced the woman lovingly.
"Izuku…!" Inko whimpered as she returned his embrace, overjoyed that her alien son still loved her.
-Flashback End-
(Later)
As the kids all came out to Training Ground Beta, All Might stood waiting for them.
"They say that clothes make the pros, and lo and behold ladies and gentlemen–you are the proof! From this moment you're all heroes in training!" He exclaimed as he saw them in their costumes. "This is getting me all revved up! You look so cool! Now, shall we get started, you bunch of newbies?!" He laughed. Then he spotted Izuku in his costume.
It consisted of form fitting torso armor that had some shoulder extensions and was colored black and green, which was matched by forearm bracers that were colored black and white and boots in black, white and green. He also had a pair of pants that were colored light purple. Around his waist was his bear pelt. All Might also noticed that the whole thing looked like it was highly flexible, but couldn't say for sure.
'Well, it certainly suits him. I won't deny that.' The blonde hero thought.
Ochako was currently adjusting her visor while Himiko was adjusting her own wrist mounted support items.
Himiko's costume consisted of a one piece black and red suit with long sleeves that left her legs exposed, a silver belt, a pair of orange goggles, two wrist bracers with white gloves on her hands, and a pair of white and black boots.
It almost looked like a costume based on Vlad King's costume.
"Oh! Hey Deku!" The brunette noted as the boy came up to them. "Nice costume! Definitely suits you." She added, though her cheeks were a bit pink due to how form-fitting the suit was.
'Oh shiiit!' Himiko thought as her face turned beet red at the sight of Izuku's now revealed costume. 'This 1000% can not be true! How can he be this goddamn hot?!' She thought in a panic as she covered her face while Izuku looked at her with his usual small smile. 'Oh Gods, am I really falling for Izuku right now? I mean, I know I like him. But do I like him?! Do I love him?' She rambled in her head.
"I have to say, Himiko, your costume suits you." The alien boy commented.
"O-Oh! Um, thanks!" The blonde stuttered, her face still red.
"Are you okay, Himiko?" Ochako asked as she went to her friend before the blonde dragged her aside. "What's wrong?" She asked.
"Do you not see Izuku's costume?! It shouldn't be possible for someone to be that hot!" Himiko hissed, glancing at the gentle giant.
"Well…" The brunette said as she looked back at their friend. "Yeah, it does bring out his best attributes, I guess…" She nodded, her own face going red.
"You think?!" The blonde hissed as she tried to reign in her hormones.
"All Might, this is the area where we had our entrance exams! Are we simulating urban battle again?" Iida asked.
"Nope! Today I'm moving you two steps ahead! Now, most of the fights you see on the news take place outside. But statistically speaking run-ins with the most dastardly evil doers take place indoors." The hero replied. "Think of it, backroom deals, home invasions, secret underground lairs. Truly intelligent villains lurk in the shadows." He added.
"Ah, I understand." The speedster nodded.
"Do we have to worry about the last place getting expelled like before?" Ochako asked.
"How much can we hurt the other team?" Katsuki questioned gruffly.
"Will you be deciding who wins?" Momo inquired.
"And will the teams be chosen based on chance or comparative skill?" Iida added.
"I wasn't finished talking!" The No. 1 hero hissed through gritted teeth. Then he pulled out a script of all things, which made Izuku raise an eyebrow.
'Really? A script?' He thought flatly.
"The situation is this: The villains have hidden a nuclear weapon somewhere in the building." He began. "It's the hero's job to find and capture the weapon. The villains must defend the objective until the time runs out, or if the heroes are captured. Similarly, the heroes can also win if both villains are captured." He continued.
'Just another action movie setup.' The alien teen thought idly.
"Time is limited and we'll decide who fights on which team by drawing lots." All Might explained.
"Isn't there a better way?" Iida questioned.
"Not when you consider the IRL comparison." Himiko chimed in. "Pros often have to team up with heroes from different agencies on the spot. So, in a roundabout way, this could be preparing us for that." She added.
"Precisely!" All Might nodded "Now, everyone get your names written down and we'll decide teams!" He told them, and they did so one by one.
A few minutes later, Izuku and Ochako were paired together while Katsuki and Iida were in the same boat. Himiko, meanwhile, was paired with Momo.
"Hey! What're the chances? We're a team!" Ochako cheered as she leapt up and hugged Izuku, causing him to catch her.
"Heh. Right." The giant teen chuckled. Katsuki looked at Izuku and had one thought.
'This might be difficult…' He thought. If there was one thing that was abundantly clear to him from growing up with Izuku, it was that he was absurdly strong. He hadn't forgotten how their first meeting went, and he wasn't oblivious to how strong his friend had gotten.
Himiko, meanwhile, looked at her best friend with jealous eyes as she saw her being held by the boy she liked.
"You shouldn't let it get to you." Momo said, almost reading the blonde's thoughts. "I'm sure that Midoriya and Uraraka have no intention of making you feel shunned." She added.
"I know, but look at those muscles and tell me you wouldn't want to be held by them!" Himiko retorted with a pout. Momo glanced at Izuku and actually understood what Himiko meant, if only a little.
"I suppose I can understand that." She muttered.
Though as she said this, Himiko's mind slowly started turning its gears. 'Wait, if Ochako likes Izuku too, and we're already best friends…' The shapeshifter thought before a perverted blush and grin spread over her face. 'Lightbulb!' She thought, a *ding dong* noise sounding in her head as a light came on.
"Himiko, what are you thinking?" The rich girl asked, knowing the girl's thinking look when she saw it.
"Nothing to be concerned about." The shapeshifter replied absently, which only made Momo's eyes narrow slightly. She knew her friend was up to something.
"Now, I declare that the first teams to fight will be… These guys!" All Might exclaimed as he held up a ball with A and D. "Team A will be the heroes, team D will be the villains." He added
Translation: Izuku and Ochako vs Katsuki and Iida.
The fight just might be violent enough to demolish the building.
(Later)
Izuku sighed as he leaned back against a bench while he and Ochako looked at the building's floor plan, noting different floors and blind spots.
"Man, this building is huge. Do they really expect us to memorize the entire floor plan?" Ochako wondered.
"It doesn't look too complex." Izuku replied with a shrug. "What I'm concerned about is how I'll fight in such enclosed spaces." He added.
"Yeah, guess all that bulk does come with some drawbacks, huh?" Ochako smiled as she nudged the boy a bit.
"Wow, harsh." Izuku shot back flatly, getting a giggle in return.
(Meanwhile)
Inside the building, Katsuki and Iida stood in a room on one of the floors with the dummy weapon they were supposed to be protecting.
"I know it's an exercise, but it pains me to have any business with villainy." The speedster sighed as he inspected their defense objective. "So this is the weapon…" He mused as he knocked on it. "Fake, of course. Bakugo, what are your thoughts on all of this?" He asked, turning to the blonde bomber.
"All I can say is that our best bet is to use Deku's size and strength against him." The Pomeranian replied.
"Alright, I understand what you mean by the former, but not in the case of the latter." The bespectacled boy stated.
"A favorite phrase of his is that he lives in a "World of Cardboard"." Katsuki explained.
"Meaning…?" Iida questioned.
"He's going to take great care to avoid destroying everything around him, right down to the fake drums in this room." The red eyed boy elaborated. "And he won't go all out to avoid accidentally hurting someone, either." He added.
"Ah, I see. That does sound like a shortcoming for someone of Midoriya's stature." The blue haired teen nodded in understanding.
"It also makes him really slow to react." The bomber added. "And I'm gonna use that to my advantage." He continued as he went down stairs.
(Elsewhere)
Back with Izuku and Ochako, the Saiyan boy quickly flew them up to the floor they needed to be on, the brunette safely nestled in his large arms bridal style.
"And just like that, we're in." Ochako said as they entered through a window. For some reason, she almost whined when Izuku let her go.
"Take point. I'll follow." The viridian haired giant told her, getting a nod in return. The two then began making their way through the building.
(Elsewhere)
"God I wish that were me!" Himiko whined quietly as the rest of the class watched the match.
"Calm down, Himiko. Don't get too worked up over it." Momo told her.
"So, there's a fifteen minute time limit, and the heroes don't know what floor the weapon is on." Mina noted, unknowingly changing the subject.
"Correct. The hero team needs to think outside the box in order to complete their objective." All Might confirmed as he put a communicator in his ear. 'Young Midoriya, I acknowledge that you are strong, but it is still my duty as a teacher to look after you. But I also can't show favorites, so I will grade you as I would any other student.' He thought.
(Elsewhere)
Back with the two kids…
"Look out!" The Saiyan yelled as he grabbed Ochako and held her close to block her way from Katsuki as the blonde attacked them out of nowhere and struck the green haired teen's back with an explosion.
"Spaces like this were always your biggest flaw, Deku." The pomeranian haired teen stated as the smoke cleared.
"Izuku, are you okay?" Ochako asked in concern.
"Don't worry. It's just a scorch mark." Izuku replied. True enough, Izuku's back only had a scorch mark from Katsuki's explosion. This was proof of how durable it was.
The boy then turned towards his childhood friend and clenched his fists, his Ki flaring up as he was becoming increasingly tempted to punch Katsuki through the nearest wall.
"Even when the environment is against you, you're still ready to fight me." Katsuki commented, spotting the gleam of anger in his eyes.
"You keep pushing my buttons, Kacchan." The Saiyan growled as he cranked his fist back. "And you keep forgetting, it always ends with the same result!" He yelled as he threw a punch at his rival, who dodged it–causing his fist to crack the floor.
"Ochako, go find the weapon! I'll handle Kacchan!" Izuku told his partner.
"Right!" The brunette nodded before she ran off.
"You wanted a fight, Kacchan? Then let's fight!" Izuku growled as he took a stance.
"BRING IT ON, DEKU!" Katsuki roared back as he too got ready to fight.
(Elsewhere)
"Aw, sneak attack Bakugo?! What kind of a man pulls cheap crap like that?!" Kirishima exclaimed indignantly.
"He's thinking like a villain, and they always use ambushes. Take note, everyone." He told his class.
"Now that I think about it, Midoriya isn't in his element." A two toned boy spoke up.
"Yeah. Him having bulk like that must make it hard to move in closed spaces." Tsu nodded in agreement.
'Not surprising, he's always been careful when it comes to using his immense strength.' All Might thought as he recalled a sparring match he had with his student.
-Flashback-
Izuku roared as he threw a punch at his currently bulked up mentor, who quickly blocked it. But as the two traded blows, he noticed that a lot of the boy's attacks were purposely weaker than what they could be.
"You know, a lot of heroes would still fight regardless if they had your great strength or not." The man noted. "Though if you went all out, you could probably end the fight before that becomes an issue."
"That's true, my friends would keep fighting despite everything." The Saiyan nodded as he blocked a smash from the Hero. "But I'm dealing with a different problem altogether." He continued.
"Oh? And what's that?" The blonde asked.
"I feel like I live in a world made of cardboard, always taking care to never break something, to break someone." The Saiyan replied in frustration as he threw another punch at his mentor. "I can't lose control for so much as a millisecond. But you can take it, can't you?" He mused, his eyes narrowing. "What we have here is a rare opportunity for me to cut loose!" He growled as he launched himself at the No. 1 Hero, who braced himself.
The boy then bellowed as he delivered a punch so hard to the man's blocking form that he sent the hero flying all the way across the trash covered beach and into the distance, a flash of light marking how far he flew.
-Flashback End-
All Might shuddered a bit. He knew how hard it was on his pupil to keep his strength in check, and how hard that was to apply practically to a combat situation.
(Elsewhere)
Iida stood in the room the bomb was in, musing about the whole exercise. As he did, he decided to try and get into the villain role… In his own way.
"I will protect this weapon in the name of villainy!" He exclaimed before he let out the most comical laugh anyone had ever heard. Ochako, who was hiding behind a pillar, couldn't stop herself from snorting at how hilarious he sounded.
"He's so serious!" She laughed, which unfortunately got the speedster's attention.
"Huh? Uraraka is that you?" The boy questioned, causing the girl to tense up.
"Crap." She hissed, realizing her cover was blown.
(Elsewhere)
In a more or less empty hallway of the fourth floor of the fake building, one of the walls suddenly broke apart as Katsuki was sent flying through said wall by a currently very frustrated Izuku.
"Agh, crap that smarts!" Katsuki groaned as he slowly got up. "Oh shit!" He gasped as he rolled out of the way right as his rival was about to squash him like a bug under his boot.
Izuku glared at him as he stood up straight. "Good. Now I have room to move around in." He sighed, popping his neck from side to side as Katsuki's gauntlets flashed red.
"And I'm all loaded up." Katsuki grinned as he pointed a gauntlet at the bulky alien teen.
"Let me guess: The gauntlets can gather up your sweat for a massive blast, right?" Izuku asked, getting a nod in return.
"That's right. You've seen how big the ones from my hand can be. Now? I think I can make a blast rivaling one of your ki attacks!" He exclaimed.
"Let's test that theory." Izuku growled as he formed an Eraser Cannon in his hand.
In another timeline, All Might would've tried to dissuade this act on the grounds of it being a threat to Izuku. Here? He was more concerned about Iida and Ochako.
"Both of you, stop! If you clash with attacks like that, the building could collapse and injure your respective teammates!" The man yelled into the mic in alarm.
"Not if they dodge!" The two boys yelled as they fired their attacks, and the resulting explosion caused the entire fourth floor to blow out holes on both ends. The entire building also shook from the blast.
Izuku skid to a halt at the very edge of where an outside wall used to be, while Katsuki hopped himself back up off the floor, shaking the dust and sheetrock from his hair.
"Well… That was something." He mused.
"Izuku, are you alright?! What happened down there?!" The brunette asked in concern through her earpiece.
"I'm alright. Just had an explosive clash with Kacchan." The giant replied.
"And here it comes, nerd! The famous right hook you were whining about!" The Pomeranian yelled as he blasted himself into a flying kick, which Izuku blocked, before he kicked again, this time hitting the giant's cheek… and he was just taking it.
"Is that it?" Izuku sighed in boredom before he grabbed his friend's leg and slammed him into the floor. "You know, you're not going to beat me if you hold back." He stated.
"Oh yeah?!" The pomeranian haired teen growled before shoving his palm in the giant's face. "Take this! Stun Grenade!" He yelled as a bright light flashed in Izuku's eyes, causing him to let out a growl.
"Great, now I can't see!" The Saiyan growled as he rubbed his eyes, still holding Katsuki up by the face and he rubbed his eyes. But as he turned back around, he saw the blonde's still glowing palm. "Oh no…" He groaned as he was suddenly peppered by rapid fire explosions to the face. "Owwwwwwhohohoho!" He howled in pain, covering his face and letting go.
(Elsewhere)
"Okay, there's no denying that what Bakugo just did definitely hurt." Kirishima commented with a wince.
"Yeah, even Midoriya can't take that much explosion to the face and not feel it." Momo nodded.
"He sure can take a beating though." Ojiro nodded.
"And dish it out, too." Sero added.
"He's amazing like that!" Himiko exclaimed as she gushed over Izuku's durability.

Back with Bakugo and Izuku, the blonde was currently blasting himself through the air in crazy directions to make himself hard to hit while blasting his larger opponent at the same time. Izuku, meanwhile, was having a hard time keeping up with his more agile adversary.
However, one thing that Katsuki forgot about his friend was his ability to learn as he fought.
Right as the pomeranian bomber blasted himself forward for another point blank Right hook explosion to his rival's face–Izuku spun around and met him with his own fist, and delivered a massive blow to the boy's stomach, sending him flying and even causing him to throw up.
"BLAGH!" He gagged as he was sent rolling along the floor. "Ugh… How could I… forget…? You learn when… you fight…" He groaned as he struggled to his feet, one hand holding his stomach.
"Exactly." Izuku growled before he rushed his friend. "Ochako, where are you right now?" He questioned on his radio.
"Right above you. What should I do?" The brunette questioned.
"Get ready." The Saiyan told her, looking at his rival. "Kacchan and I are coming to you." He added.
"Wait, what?" The brunette asked in confusion.
"I'll explain later." The boy said as Katsuki became more and more irritated.
"Are you fucking ignoring me?! I'll get your attention!" The blonde growled. He then aimed his other gauntlet at his giant friend and pulled the pin, but Izuku was ready for it.
When the blast was about to hit him, he threw an uppercut and redirected the blast upwards, causing it to go through the rest of the building and through the roof. This had the effect of startling Iida and Ochako in response.
Katsuki saw this and then used his right hand to blast himself back and his left to send an explosion behind Izuku, causing the boy to grunt as he spun around.
The two then started trading blows, with the larger of the two going for large, wide, brawler style punches, and Katsuki having a more controlled outboxing style.

"Bakugo doesn't come off as a guy with a strategy. But he's actually rather intelligent." Shoto noted idly.
"Whaddya mean?" Kirishima asked.
"He used an explosion to propel himself forward that acted as a smokescreen. It's very clever." The two toned boy hummed.
"To do that he needed to calculate the physics and trajectory of the blasts as well as show control over his quirk." Momo nodded.
"Yeah, and Midoriya looks like he has some combat smarts. You need to have a lot of that to be able to redirect a blast like he did." Sero noted.
"Not surprising. According to Bakugo, Izuku "learns as he fights" as he put it." Himiko chimed in.
"So he grows smarter with every fight? That's kinda cool." Denki whistled.
'Hm… He grows smarter as he fights, and stronger, if my past spars with Young Midoriya are any indication. What is he?' All Might wondered, feeling another piece of the puzzle fall into place.

Back with the two boys, Izuku and Katsuki were currently in a clash stance pushing against each other, while Ochako was currently using her quirk to rip a dislocated pillar on her floor and lift it to use as a weapon.
"Sorry, Iida!" The mochi cheeked girl exclaimed as she swung the pillar at her friend and sent him crashing into the adjacent wall. "Special move! The comet home run!" She cheered as Iida crashed into the wall before slowly falling on the floor–leaving a running man imprint on it.
"Ow…" The speedster groaned in pain from the floor.
Back with the other two, Katsuki was still trying to push against Izuku and get him to fall out of the building so he could deal with Ochako, but he momentarily paused… when he saw Izuku's necklace.
'What the–? Where'd he get that?' He thought with a raised eyebrow since he hadn't seen it before. However, he immediately regretted pausing when Izuku pushed back, staggering him.
The Saiyan then cranked his fist back as one for all coursed through it and he delivered a low powered punch down on the blonde's head, causing him to crash to the ground with a hard thud. This caused a crater where his head was.
"Ow…" Katsuki groaned in a daze. Izuku then grabbed him and flew up to where the dummy bomb was right as Ochako grabbed it.
"The Hero team… WIIIIIIINS!" All Might exclaimed as the timer ran out right as Ochako touched the weapon.
"Alright!" The brunette cheered as she jumped and hugged Izuku, who embraced her back.

Back with All Might and the rest of the class, all the kids winced at the power that the Saiyan put behind that last punch.
"Aye aye aye… That's definitely gonna leave a concussion." Sero commented.
"No kidding. That looked like a really heavy blow." Kirishima nodded in agreement as he instinctively rubbed his own head.
Himiko, meanwhile, almost felt herself go weak at the knees when she saw it because it made Izuku's veins bulge, and that made her quirk act up.
'If that's what he can do with a punch I can only imagine what he can do with a–Oh Kamis have mercy on my ovaries…!' The blonde thought as her face turned a vibrant shade of pink. Momo glanced at her and saw her pink face, which made her wonder what was going on with her.
"Himiko, are you okay?" She asked, but got no answer since the blonde was in lala land.
With the first match done, it was on to the next set of four…
Dragon Emperor0: And that's a wrap on the battle training arc. As you can see guys, we've expanded on why Izuku is weaker (in comparison) to the DBS version of Broly here in this chapter. Because in this story, he faces a dilemma not unlike that of Superman.
ThermalsniperN7: Yep. In a world like MHA, he needs to exhibit extreme control over himself to avoid unwanted collateral damage and equally unwanted death. It's rare for him to not have to worry about it, and All Might is one of the few that can take his punches. And Shenron help everyone when he becomes a Super Saiyan…
Dragon Emperor0: Yeah. And it seems as though Himiko has some sort of idea up her sleeve. Scandal… and on top of that, it would seem that–not unlike Disney's Tarzan–Izuku decided that, regardless of blood relations, Inko and Hisashi will always be his parents. That's just awesome.
ThermalsniperN7: Suck it, Paragus. Your son found a better family. Anyway, see you guys next time.
