Hey guys! I am back with a new chapter of a throne of crimson light.

This fic has Bell meet his Familia captain. I hope you would enjoy this.

Disclaimer: I do not own Danmachi, if I did, I would make Bell and Ains a couple already.

A pair of young men, one in his teens and the other around his early 20s walked side by side. The older male, dressed in blue robes, walked slightly ahead of the younger male. The younger of the two looked at the male's back as they walked.

"Honestly, do weirdos attract weirdos?" The older male by the name of Ren Cruz said with a sigh, shaking his head a bit. Hearing those words made Bell look at him in confusion. "First, I got a midget as a new boss and now my new little brother is a suicidal idiot with a probable hero complex."

"Excuse me..." Bell said, trying to get his captain's attention.

"Yes, problem child # 2?" Replied the man as he looked at Bell. Dark eyes met a pair of ruby red as he stopped walking.

'Problem child number 2?' Thought Bell but kept it to himself. "You're Hestia Familia's captain? Why haven't I heard of you?"

Thankfully, his Familia captain was not offended whatsoever and looked at him with approval.

"Good point, always question things from now on," Ren told Bell as he looked at him. "The reason why you do not know of me is that I keep to myself with only a few, including Hestia, having any idea of what I am doing. Helps that most of the people living in Orario are only focused on themselves." The captain of the Hestia Familia said as he jerked his head to the side.

Seeing this, the young adventurer turned to look in the direction and into an alley only to see a group of men crawling and moaning pitifully on the ground, raving about Soma. Bell's Red eyes widened and moved to help them only to stop when a hand held his shoulder.

"Watch," Whispered Ren to Bell as a faint glow surrounded him. A few minutes later, a young man who was an adventurer approached the group and tried to help them, only to get jumped and beaten up. "That's what will happen if you don't think about your actions and focus on only helping strangers."

Ren held Bell's shoulder until the men finished looting the unfortunate adventurer. "This is Orario, the city is a part of the dungeon itself, filled with the most dangerous monsters to exist," Ren told him and Bell could only listen. "But, that doesn't mean you would have to ignore every injustice or crime you see."

Once his captain let go of his shoulder, all the weight he felt was removed from his body. Bell could move once more and he looked to his captain and saw, much to his surprise, a simple staff with a rose on the top part. "Help them if you want, as long as you can secure a way to help them with the least amount of danger possible to yourself or others."

Bell watched in awe as Ren gently pressed the bottom of his staff into the ground as several throned vines covered the group of adventurers, binding their bodies and mouths. Unable to make any sound, the adventurers flailed and tried to fight against the vines, only to pass out once they constricted.

"Go, help that guy." Ren's gentle voice and push made Bell snap away from the look of awe that he gave to his Familia Captain. "Problem child."

"Where is that boy?" Said a short young woman with a bountiful chest that should not belong to her frame with black hair that was tied into twin tails. Pacing around the ruined church, she could not help but worriedly look at the dagger with several carvings on the table. "He's not the type to make me worry... unlike that man."

"I heard that!" The booming voice of the Familia captain along with the sound of the door being kicked open made the woman jump in both shock and fear. "And what do you mean I make you worry?"

"Ren! You're back!" Greeted Hestia before her eyes widened at the situation their youngest Familia member was in. Despite the blood-stained clothes filled with some cuts, Bell looked fine. Sure, he looked tired but there was no visible injury on his form. "Bell-Kun!"

Hearing those words, the state of his Familia member, and Hestia's personality, the captain of the Hestia Familia wisely stepped away and sacrificed his brother to the mercy of the over-affectionate deity of the Familia. Better Bell than him. Shaking his head with a ghost of a smile at how Hestia fussed over Bell, the young man dug his hands into his satchel and pulled out several vials.

"Here, drink this and go to sleep. Those are some of my potions, a stamina potion, a draught of blissful sleep, and a recovery potion." Ren said as he removed his robes, leaving him in a white shirt and a pair of pants. "Also, do not molest him Mini-patron."

Hearing those words, Hestia saw red and charged at the captain. "Don't call me mini!" with the righteous rage of an angry woman, the goddess delivered a series of strikes. They would have hit the Familia captain if he was not using his arm to leisurely keep her away.

Seeing such a sight, Bell could not help but let out a laugh. For so long, he only had his grandfather with him but now... A goddess who took him in, an older man as a captain who was proving to be the mad uncle he can go to for guidance, or a big brother to help him. Hearing his laughter, Ren could not help but smile as Hestia went to Bell to help him. This was not so bad at all. Gently, the young man put on a hooded jacket over his shirt instead of the robes and a new pair of boots.

Dark eyes fondly gazed at the necklace hanging on a hook with a horn as a pendant. "It's early today and I'm hungry!" The young man said with a smile. "Come on, let's eat at Mama Mia's place, my treat."

Hearing his words, Bell's stomach growled loudly while Hestia and Ren smiled at the young man. Together, the members of the Hestia Familia found their way toward the Hostess of Fertility.

Arriving at the hearty tavern, Ren let out a small grin as he opened the door. "I'm back!" The young man announced only to be greeted with a glare from a blonde elf. "Hey, Mama Mia!" The young man greeted.

"Oh? Back already? You better have money, your new Familia member ditched your goddess last night." The brown-haired woman said, causing Bell to whimper and turn red.

"Yup! Sorry bout that. Hope you put the bill on my tab." Ren said, leaving out a pouch filled with money on the table before looking at the elf.

"Hello, Ryuu!" Greeted the Hestia Familia Captain with a bright smile, only resulting in a harsher glare that would have made lesser men flinch. "How's my favorite flat-chested elf?"

Suddenly, Ren burst out of the tavern as fast as he could, appearing as a blur while another green blur chased after followed by a brown-haired woman with cat ears on top of her.

"NYA! RYUU, DROP THAT KNIFE!"

Ren, Ren, Ren. Did no one tell you to not tease a woman like that? Well, it depends if he will survive or not.

Anyways, I will be making a fic where Ren is a member of Freya Familia but acts independently and does not worship Freya like the simp they are. Would probably be a mage though.

Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, see you soon!
