Chapter 1:
"Natsu Dragneel"
Natsu: Mmm...
"NATSU DRAGNEEL!"
Natsu: Ugh...again...
There it was once again, that voice that's been bothering Natsu for days. He knows what's about to happen next as he wakes up in an area of water, it was the same reoccurring dream he's had but each time it leads him to a different ending.
"Natsu Dragneel"
Natsu: Yeah! Yeah! I'm going!
Natsu continues walking as the water slowly disappear and now, he's walking around a deserted area with nothing around him. The first time he dreamt this didn't last long as he thought he was drowning ending the dream short. But after that, a new pathway appears and even though it's annoying, he won't stop until he finds out what it is.
Natsu: Would you mind answering a few questions: Where am I? Why am I here? Who are you?
"Over Here"
Natsu: Grr...Look, your voice is everywhere so how the hell am I supposed to know where you're at?!
Natsu would feel a hand on his shoulder startling him and ready to attack only to see nothing behind him but a temple.
Natsu: What the...
"Enter...to your path"
Natsu: My path to what?
Just as Natsu enters the temple, a bright light begins to beam right at him as he begins to wake up officially. Groaning quietly, Natsu sees a roof before looking around the room and noticing the sun on the window flashing across his face. He was back at the guest room he and his team were staying over and wide awake.
Natsu: "What exactly was that? I'm getting closer to it so I can't stop just yet."
Just as he was about to get off bed, he remembered that he is not alone. Sighing softly, Natsu smiles at the beautiful view of his girlfriend, Lucy Heartfilia still sleeping comfortably on top of him. The pair have had feelings for each other for a very long time and it finally took the courage from both of them to ask out each other right after the Alvarez War and the defeat of both Zeref and Acnologia. The thoughts of his dream wouldn't escape as more questions begins to emerge in his mind, but he did not want to focus on that right now. Natsu then approaches gently and gives Lucy a small kiss on the top of her head which results her in waking up.
Lucy: Mmm...5 more minutes baby...
Natsu: Heh and you say I'm the sleepiest one.
Lucy easily sighs in defeat as she cuddles with her boyfriend now fully awake as well, unbeknownst that Natsu has been waking up from his strange dreams.
Lucy: Mmm...I hate you so much...
Natsu: *chuckles* Doesn't sound convincing unless you meant to say love.
Lucy looks up to Natsu and leans to him for a passionate kiss. She could never hate him but can love him more for who he is. There isn't anyone on this planet who could make her smile, blush, and make her heart skip a beat like Natsu. The passionate kiss continues for another good minute before separating to get some air.
Lucy: *breathes heavily* You ready to continue another day?
Natsu: You know I'm always fired up!
The couple proceed to get out of bed as they prepare for the new day that emerges. Natsu, Lucy, and their team will explore the city they are visiting for today to recharge and rest up before continuing their 100 Years Quest. It's been a rough and interesting quest at the same time, from returning to Edolas, to dealing with new enemies, to making new allies, and exploring new places. No one said the 100 Years Quest would be easy but that also meant to expect the unexpected. Like meeting Ignia, Igneel's son and Natsu's stepbrother who wishes to take this world and erase humanity to create a new home for dragons. He also gave Natsu a taste of his fire which made the dragon slayer lose it until Lucy calmed him down. It hasn't been long since Natsu last saw him after finishing off Dogramag with the help of an enemy turned ally, Suzaku. After that battle was over, Ignia was nowhere to be seen but Natsu knew his time with his step brother was far from over.
*FLASHBACK*
Natsu: He's gone...for now.
Suzaku: Who? Selene?
Natsu: Ignia...but I have a feeling I'll see him again soon and that's where we shall continue our battle.
The duo would reunite with the rest of their team alongside with Selene, Gajeel, and Laxus. Beaten and battered yet Victorious as the group escape from what was the remain of the temple. With her power of teleportation, Gajeel and Laxus asked to return with the rest of the guild especially for Gajeel to be with Levy and their unborn child to which Selene understood and opened a portal. They both bid farewell to Team Natsu as they head back home leaving Team Natsu with Suzaku and Selene before noticing the Moon Dragon God with Handcuffs that prevent her from using magic or transforming into a dragon.
Lucy: Whoa, why the handcuffs?
Suzaku: She may have helped us in defeating Dogramag but she's still an enemy and it's my mission to bring her in.
Selene: And to where exactly if you're guild is gone. Not to mention, your members are nowhere to be seen.
Erza: She's right! Where did they go?
Suzaku: Doesn't matter, I shall take you to the Magic Council where you will be charged for the crimes and danger you have brought.
Selene: Hmph, lovely.
Wendy: What about you Suzaku? Where will you go?
Suzaku: I will walk my own path from here and see where it takes me. Perhaps there's a town out there in need of a protector and a leader.
Natsu: How about you join us in Fairy Tail?
Suzaku looked at Natsu surprised with the offer to join their guild.
Natsu: You don't need to do this alone, we're a team, a family and we always welcome those who deserve it. *Looks at Selene* As for you...
Selene: If you wish to finish me here and now after what I did before to you, your friends, and your mate-
Natsu: I may not forgive you for what you did back in Elentir but it doesn't mean I'll kill you. Killing is not option unless it's the last solution but I can sense good in you Selene. You have an opportunity to become better and not be in chains. I won't bring you into Fairy Tail but we can give you the chance to be free and start over.
Team Natsu smiles as hearing their Fire Dragon Slayer speak with heart to both Suzaku and Selene who both stay quiet about their offers given to them. Selene smirks looking at Natsu who still had a serious face.
Selene: And what makes you think I would want that? I would rather be taken here and now to the magical council or even killed by any of you.
Natsu: Freedom is the Right to all Sentient Beings including you.
That statement left Selene speechless after everything she put him and his friends through, he was still willing to give her a second chance. No matter what she can do to strike back, he's a step ahead of her this time. After a few moments of silence and thinking about it:
Selene: If you truly believe...that I deserve a second chance...then I have no other choice but to accept it.
Team Natsu and Suzaku couldn't believe her response, they assumed she would attack or keep arguing with Natsu but instead she accepted his offer as Natsu nods towards Suzaku to release the cuffs despite Suzaku showing a bit of hesitation.
Suzaku: *sighs* As much as I appreciate the offer Natsu, I must decline this time for the path I hope it takes me is one I've been meaning to resolve.
Natsu: *nods* As you wish Suzaku but know that the offer remains open for when you wish to join one day. As for you Selene, you will be coming with us and find a place for you to start over.
*END FLASHBACK*
Lucy: What are you going to do about Selene? Are you truly sure she's not lying and waiting for the chance to strike?
Natsu: If she did, she would've done so the moment we released the handcuffs.
Lucy: *Wraps arms around Natsu* Look at you being a big man now.
Natsu: *smirks* Are you calling me a child Ms. Heartfilia?
Lucy: *leans in* I never did Mr. Dragneel.
Natsu and Lucy once again share a passionate kiss before a knock is heard at the door breaking their session early to the disappointment and annoyance of Natsu.
Lucy: Don't worry babe, we got tonight. *smiles*
Natsu: I guess you're right. But if I find out it's Gray who broke our kiss, he's in for an ass whooping!
Lucy giggles as she walks to the door only to be greeted by all of Team Natsu.
Lucy: Morning guys!
Wendy: Morning Lucy, you two sleep well?
Happy: More like had fun last night pfft.
Lucy: SHUT UP STUPID CAT!
Gray: So what's the plan for today?
Erza: I was thinking we explore this small town and take the opportunity to rest up before we continue tomorrow.
Carla: Lovely. A day with no troubling situations or chaos. *Glares at Natsu*
Natsu: HEY! WHAT I DO?!
Wendy: What about Selene?
The gang looked at each other before looking at Natsu leading to an agreement between the members except for Natsu which he found unfair.
Natsu: COME ON?! I wanted to try out all the foods here and spend some time with Lucy.
Lucy: We'll spend some time together tonight Natsu, I promise. *Kisses his cheek* Buuuut, you were the one who gave the offer to Selene.
Erza: Which means you will be in charge of patrolling her today. Take her to explore around.
Natsu: But I-
Gray: HA! I'll make sure to enjoy the food for ya flame head.
Natsu: You're asking for a morning beating aren't you ice breath!
Gray: IS THAT A CHALLENGE!
Natsu: YOU BETCHA!
Erza: ENOUGH! *Punches both Gray and Natsu* We are going to have an entire day without wrecking things and fighting! Do you understand?
Natsu and Gray: A-Aye...
Team Natsu would proceed to start their relaxing day while Natsu heads to knock on Selene's room.
Natsu: Selene, you there?
Selene: *Appears behind Natsu* I am now.
Natsu: AAH!
Selene: And I must say the hot springs here are terrible. So, what are you doing here Natsu?
Natsu: Well, everyone else went to go explore and shop around this town while leaving me in charge to take care of ya!
Selene: My oh my, they left the dragon child to watch over an adult dragon.
Natsu: HEY! I AM NOT A CHILD!
Selene: You're acting like one right now. *smirks*
Natsu: Grrr...*deep breaths* Let's just start walking and see what'll catch your attention.
Selene nods as her and Natsu begin to walk out of the hotel ready to start this day neither of them knowing what the end of today will bring. Just as they began to walk around town, Natsu hears that same voice one more time.
"Natsu Dragneel"
Startled, Natsu turns around fast only to see the towns people walking by. It's starting to annoy him but at the same time he wants to find out what exactly does this voice want from him.
Selene: You alright there?
Natsu: Huh? Oh, yeah...let's go.
