As Dagger 2-1 falls, Hunter Team 2 and Sandler jump off once the chopper was low enough. But Ramirez stayed behind trying to get the crew out with them, but the bird already hit the ground and the shaky, violent movement has Ramirez hit his forehead hard, knocking him out.
During the crash, the Blackhawk's left cabin door shut itself close and was jammed. And the right boarding step somehow got wedged between the right cabin door's frame.
Hunter Team 2 and Sandler struggle to squeeze through the cabin to get Ramirez and the crew stuck in the helicopter. But then a Russian platoon starts firing at them, and the gunfire got to the pilots and killed them.
The survivors are at a disadvantage because the chopper's minigun was lost in the crash and the Russians start bringing in two GAZ-2975 Tigrs with Kord-12.7mm heavy machine guns. Wade, with his MK14 DMR (Desiganted Marksman Rifle) with a night/thermal vision scope picks off the first heavy gunner.
The kill got the second gunner's attention and he turns to the sniper and fires. Wade narrowly ducks but his rifle was destroyed by the HMG rounds.
With no mid to long range weapon, he turns to the unconcious Ramirez and takes his M4A1, M16A4, and two loaded magazines from his plate carrier. At first it looked like the Rangers were gonna win, until the Russian platoon immediately brought in reinforcements once they realized they were losing.
As a result, the Rangers got pinned down again. Three minutes later, Ramirez wakes up in the downed Dagger 2-1 and finds the pilots dead and himself without his rifles, magazines and night vision goggles.
While getting up, he checks himself for wounds, feeling no pain and learning that the blood covering his Multicam uniform and Coyote Brown gloves are still not his, and the only thing that hurts is his forehead. Seeing the mess he is in, he keeps his head down and readies his M9.
Wade sees Ramirez awake as he suppresses the second gunner and exhausts the M16A4's ammo. He reloads the M4A1 with its last loaded PMAG and gives it back.
Wade: Take this and stay down!
Wade gets shot*
Ramirez: Wade, no!
Unfortunately, Wade exposed himself arming Ramirez and the second gunner saw him and shot his head off. Ramirez used his M203 to blow up the GAZ with the second gunner in it, avenging Wade and giving his team some much needed breathing room.
Then starts unloading on multiple troops in the open with semi-auto fire, having to double tap his headshots. Once Ramirez was empty, he reaches for his rucksack to get fresh mags.
Foley: Ramirez! Reload now! We need you!
Foley suddenly tosses Ramirez his spare PMAG so that he can give support to the others immediately. Ramirez catches it, reloads, and starts shooting at the hostiles pinning them down.
Ramirez exhausts Foley's clip, reloads his M203 and gives explosive fire support until he uses all the grenades in his battle belt before getting more ammo from his rucksack.
While Ramirez refills his plate carrier and battle belt, Dunn gives the others time to reload until he gets shot. Foley pulls him to safety and saw no fatal wound.
Things get worse when a Russian MI-28 Havoc attack helicopter starts finding the Rangers. Ramirez sees it, immediately reloads his grenade launcher, and takes aim.
But before he can shoot down the gunship, an explosion lights up the sky and the Havoc and other aircraft crash on top of the Russian forces. During the commotion, Sandler starts removing the stuck debris blocking Ramirez.
With that, Ramirez quickly pays respects to the pilots, then helps Sandler. Once free, he thanks the sergeant and also pays respects to Wade before taking the M16A4 and leaves with the others to find shelter from the rain of aircraft.
Dunn: What the hell's goin' on?!
Foley: Get off the street now! Go!
Dunn: This isn't good, man!
A Havoc crashes*
Dunn: Whoa!
Foley: Don't stop! Keep moving!
Dunn sees a Blackhawk crashing on a BTR-80*
Dunn: Holy shiiit!
Foley: Go go go!
A soldier falls on top of an exploding car*
Ramirez: SHIT!
Sandler: What the hell is goin' on?!
Dunn: EMP!
Foley: Just keep moving!
Dunn sees a flaming motorcycle slide by*
Dunn: Look out!
Dunn, Sandler and Ramirez jump over it*
Foley: Go! Go!
The team finds safety in a library, and as they get in, another helicopter crashes outside, shaking everyone up. They then recover from the shock wave and refill their ammo from their rucksacks.
Dunn: What the hell are we gonna do now, man? Russians got us outnumbered, shit's falling from the sky. We're screwed man! We're totally—
Foley: Shut up! Get a grip, Sergeant! Our weapons still work, which means we can still kick some ass.
A burning jet engine crashes on a wrecked car*
Ramirez: Oh, no.
Sandler: What the hell was that?!
Ramirez: Looked like a burning jet engine.
Morgan: Military or civilian?
Ramirez: I think civilian.
McCord: Shit!
Foley: Stay here.
Dunn: You're goin' out there? Are you nuts?
Ramirez: Not alone, TL (Team Leader).
Foley and Ramirez see that the skies are clear.
Foley: It's over. Come on, we still have a war to fight.
The team heads out to regroup with whatever friendly elements are left. While scanning the area, they find their red dot sights, holographic sights, laser sights, flashlights and comms (communications) not working.
Foley: Looks like optics are down...comms too. There's not even a street light for blocks.
Dunn: Wow...check it out, man.
Ramirez: You called it, Dunn. EMPs will do this.
Foley checks and pays respects to a fallen soldier*
Foley: Dammit. All right. We gotta regroup with whoever's left out there. Dunn, Ramirez, take point.
Dunn and Ramirez: Hooah.
Hunter Team 2 then encounters Private Vaughan. A National Guard soldier doing old school runner duties, who tells them that his CO, Colonel Marshall, is assembling a task force to retake Whiskey Hotel up north.
The team needs to go through a building to keep heading north. They check their corners while calling out the de-conflict call "Star" and waiting for the appropriate countersign "Texas".
Morgan opens the door trying the de-conflict call*
Morgan: Star!
Morgan and Sandler get gunned down*
Dunn: Son of a...
Foley: Contact!
McCord starts shooting through the wooden walls knowing the Russians are on the other side, while Foley, Dunn and Ramirez throw a flashbang into the office room and force in. Once the set of cubicles were cleared out, Ramirez rushes to check on Morgan and Sandler.
Ramirez: *sighs* No pulses on either.
Foley: Damn. Focus, we need to keep moving.
Ramirez: *closes their eyes* Sorry, guys. You didn't deserve this.
The four-man team clears out another set of cubicles in lightning-quick fashion, shooting through the thin cover the Russians are using. Then they head for the Eisenhower Building, knowing Whiskey Hotel will be on the other side.
They check for vitals on more friendly casualties, only to find no survivors. But things start to light up a bit as they find three unaware tangos trying to fix a disabled BTR-80.
They got into a widely spread firing squad position and blew their heads off. Noticing more people inside, Foley and Ramirez climb up to frag them.
Foley opens the hatch*
Ramirez: Frag out.
Foley: Clear out.
Russian: Granata!
Explosion*
Ramirez: For Wade, Morgan, Sandler and our pilots.
Foley: Hooah.
As the downpour continues, seeing and hearing becomes more difficult. Everyone sees this as a double-edged sword, especially since it's freezing.
Dunn: I don't know what's worse, man—dodging falling helicopters or freezing my ass in this monsoon.
Ramirez: Beats me.
McCord: Hooah.
Foley: Quiet - I think I see something.
Then Foley spots an unidentified patrol.
Foley: Hold your fire
Dunn: Are they friendly?
Foley: I don't know...Star! Cover me.
Ramirez: Covering.
Dunn: Covering.
McCord: Covering.
Foley throws flare*
Foley: Star!
Dunn: Say Texas, dammit...just say it.
Ramirez: Not ours! Not ours!
Dunn: Contact!
They kill the enemy patrol, clearing the street. Then they find the breached entrance of the Eisenhower Building with dead National Guardsmen leading downstairs, leading to a heavily reinforced door with the U.S. President's seal.
Dunn: Whoa, check out the seal on this door...I thought the President's bunker was under the West Wing.
Foley: No, that's just for tourists. This must be the real thing. Open it up.
Dunn opens the door*
Dunn: Star!
Sergeant Wiederhold: Texas!
McCord: Finally.
Ramirez: Whoa, the PEOC (Presidential Emergency Operations Center) itself.
Dunn: *whistles* Real or not man, this place is history. Hope they got out in time.
