Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 12 of Never Again. Thank you to those who have left reviews for this story. It really does mean a lot to me that you guys are enjoying this story. I promise you that I'm trying my best with writing this story. I am going to try my best to make the chapters as long as I can without going too overboard. If they are on the short side I do apologize. It's hard to make a chapter long from time to time. But I am going to try my best to make sure that the chapters are long enough that they aren't under 1000 words, if they are once again I do apologize. Writing is always hard, but I do try my best when it comes to writing. I'm actually excited to write this next part. Even though it is going to take some time to write this part out since I have plans for Lhai. Without further ado Chapter 12. ENJOY!
Chapter 12
Spock entered the transporter room. "Clear the pad. I'm beaming to the surface."
Lhai gripped her arm tightly in her hand wondering what in the world her brother was even thinking. She couldn't believe that Spock was going to beam down onto their home planet when it was starting to self-destruct. It worried her that her parents wouldn't make it out of there alive. But she knew that Spock was doing the right thing.
"The surface of what? What, are you going down there? Are you nuts? Spock, you can't do that?!" Jim said his eyes wide looking at Spock like he was insane.
"Energize."
"Spock!"
Spock disappeared from the room being transported down to Vulcan.
Jim looked over seeing the blood seeping down her arm. He wrapped his arm around her. "Come on, let's get you to medbay." He said softly knowing that she needed to be tended to with how much blood was running down her arm.
Lhai allowed Jim to lead her out of the transporter room knowing that she was going to be no good with trying to help Spock on Vulcan trying to save their family.
"Why didn't you say you got hurt?" Jim questioned as he carefully brought her towards the MedBay.
"To be truthful, it didn't matter at that moment. We were freefalling to Vulcan and that wouldn't have ended well if it wasn't for our young Ensign Chekov. Besides, what would you have done if I had told you?"
"We could have tried to bandage it."
Lhai simply shook her head. "It wouldn't have been logical to even do that. Not with how much of a time frame we had." She said as she held her arm to try and keep the blood from dripping onto the floor as they walked.
The two of them entered MedBay.
"BONES!" Jim called out as he carefully helped Lhai onto one of the biobeds.
Leonard came out of his new office and his brows furrowed when he saw green blood on Jim. "Damn it, Jim what happened?" He demanded as he got closer to the biobed where Lhai sat. He stopped in his tracks when he noticed that it was Lhai bleeding. Once he was out of his phase he quickly moved up to her. "What happened?"
"She got injured somehow." Jim said softly, unsure of how Lhai had gotten hurt.
"I had gotten thrown into some scaffolding and got sliced open when we were fighting some Romulans." Lhai stated calmly knowing that Jim probably didn't have any idea of what had happened.
Leonard began to tend to the wound that Lhai had gotten. "Why didn't you alert the Enterprise immediately?"
"We were freefalling to our deaths, it didn't seem logical at the time to state that I had gotten hurt."
Leonard let out a breath and shook his head. "That was reckless even for a Vulcan."
Lhai's lips quirked a little bit as she tried to not laugh. "I am only Half-Vulcan." She pointed out as he began to tend to her wound fairly quickly knowing that she needed to have it looked over to make sure that nothing happened. She knew that she wasn't really in any danger, but she needed it before Spock realized she got injured.
Leonard carefully put a bandage around the wound once he had cleaned it up. He then turned his attention to Jim. He carefully tended to his friends' hands as some Vulcans arrived at the medbay to get tended to.
Lhai quickly got up to her feet to see her father walking into the medbay. Her eyes widened slightly when she noticed the look in his eyes. She felt her heart constrict knowing that this wasn't a good sign. She walked over to him looking him over for any injuries.
Sarek looked at his daughter with tear filled eyes keeping his emotions in check.
"Father… where is…" Lhai asked her brows pinching together in concern. She hoped that the look in his eyes wasn't a real one. That her mother was still alive and well and would be joining them in just a few moments.
Sarek looked down, not bearing to look at his daughter.
Lhai's eyes widened in shock. "No, she can't be…" For the first time she felt tears coming to her eyes and she could feel her emotions going out of control which she knew that once the dam broke there would be no way to stop her emotions. Vulcans releasing their emotions was not a good thing. Her mother, the one that had shown her support over the years and was happy to know that she went to StarFleet was gone. She felt her heart crumbling and breaking knowing that her father and brother weren't doing much better. She silently walked out of the MedBay knowing that she needed time alone at that moment. She couldn't be around anyone with the swirling emotion that she felt inside of her bounding to break out.
She went to her room first to change out of her jumping gear that she had put on when they had gone to Vulcan. Her hands shook a little bit as she slowly picked up her science blue dress. For the first time in a long time she felt tears fall down her cheeks. She furiously wiped the offending wet tears away and changed into her science blues and then left the room heading towards the bridge knowing that this was going to be a rough flight back towards Earth.

So I do apologize that the chapter is a bit on the short side. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. I will try to update with the next chapter next week. Until next time.
