Regardless if it's been a while or recently, and as a welcome to anyone whose new to my stories, let me say hello to you all! I apologize that this isn't a new chapter, but this is important and I hope you take the time to read this update notice.
Also, to remove any worries to those familiar with the few I've made when my writing slump began? Know this update ONLY has good news this time.
Notice: This update will be deleted on 10/10 - READING IS ADVISED
To start things off, the primary part of this announcement is, as not everyone may have seen it on my profile... that I am officially out of my writing slump! Thanks to everyone whose been so supportive and understanding these last two years. However, while I am getting back to regularly updating, there are a few things that have changed since then that will affect my update rate.
First off, and this is only temporary, but my family and I will be making up for lost time with our extended family. The pandemic caused a lot of our family events (both annual and non-annual) to be canned. However, now that vaccines are able to cover nearly all ages, we're making up for it since we have our yearly Halloween Party on the way, alongside Thanksgiving and Christmas, which we all had to spend on our own since 2020 due to new family members.
I'll still try updating for the rest of 2022, but it might not be that much.
Second, which some may have noticed via the potential stories listed on my profile, I've become quite the fan of Genshin Impact and now play it regularly. On one hand this has cut into some of my writing time, but on the other, it's also helped give me new ideas because of the gorgeous landscapes and some lore I've found. The same is true with other Hoyoverse games that I don't play since their stories are all so interesting, and has helped my spark recover.
My only regret is that too much of Genshin Impact's story has yet to be released, making it too risky for me to start my fanfic idea for it because I want to avoid retconning anything if contradicted by the still unreleased content. That being said... if anyone can show me the Mondstat region story is too early in for too many retcons, then I might at least consider releasing that part.
Lastly, but most importantly, I've started restructuring how I organize my stories a little. This one's a little more complex, so I have story specific details I'll be sharing below to explain it. Though if it goes well? You can expect my updates rates to increase while also getting more to my stories than you did prior!
With all of that said, here's the story specific details:
Specific Details for Daydreamer Dragon
Because this is the original version of the story, details will be found in the new version, so this one is mainly to make sure no one misses it. There is some news related to it though, so I recommend reading for just a little longer.
Said news is that I've officially made my choice on what will happen to this version after revisions get to a certain point. Said choice is once every chapter gets revised? The story will stay for a while after that, though unlike my plan for LOHD and DALAT's old versions, the fact this story is a lot bigger will lead to it moving over to AO3 and taking the same path that the original version of LOHD did, as there are a lot of pre-revised details some may want to re-read.
Thank you all for taking time to read this. Now, since the new version has a preview scene, I'll be showing a deleted scene here. One that can't be used in the new version anymore.
Great Red was... angry? No. Enraged? No. Maybe... furious? Still no. Whatever he was feeling right now was something he couldn't put into words, other than it was a form of unquantifiable rage and hatred towards Ishie, who had somehow ruined the carefully crafted plan he had been banking on Vali making into a reality by beating and killing her.
And somehow, despite every advantage Great Red gave him... he failed!
She had managed to not only win, but make the Vali Team rethink everything, meaning both Heavenly Dragons now stood against him.
"I'll kill that bitch!" He roared.
"Do you mind?" Someone asked.
Opening his eyes and turning around, Great Red realized he accidentally warped to a field of purple flowers in his rage. Laying on his back in part of the field was a handsome young man with short black hair and blue eyes. His attire consisted of what looked to be a combination of a gakuran and ancient Chinese clothing.
The most notable thing about him, however, was the weapon lying next to him. An ornate spear with a dark blue rod, being more extensive than regular spears. It featured golden metal decorations in the shapes of arrow tips, that spiraled around in a double helix pattern, and finished at the top of the rod of the spear which had a blade shaped like a mix between a circle and cross where the helix pattern met it.
"Go and eat shit, Cao Cao! I have a right to complain right now! Vali fucked up everything I had been working towards, and he even turned against me as well." He screamed.
Upon hearing this, Cao Cao turned to look at him.
"So, Vali chose to jump ship, huh?" He remarked, grabbing his spear as he stood up.
"And now I've lost my best means to devour Ophis and her power." Great Red stated.
Cao Cao smirked as he turned around.
"Do you really believe that's the case? Honestly, I believe there's always been a better option. One such as... this?" He challenged.
He mouthed something, and Great Red felt his eyes widen as his arm was sliced off and then exploded once it struck the ground.
"The hell!?" Great Red roared as he regrew his cut arm.
"Look closer at the arm I just cut off." Cao Cao advised.
Still angry, the Dragon of Dreams begrudgingly looked at the amputated limb, only to see it suddenly rotting and releasing a sort of mist that slowly faded away. It made his eyes widen as he sensed the power, and how it only evaporated because he was still alive.
"Is that one of the powers of your Sub-Species at work?" He questioned, realizing his idea.
"Maybe, maybe not." Cao Cao replied.
He turned around with a confident look.
"Regardless, what matters is that this could fell even you if I aimed it in the right spot, so it would be fatal to even Ophis if I managed to get her in my sights." He declared.
Great Red smirked.
"Seeing as how Shalba is the only leader of the Old Satan Faction still alive, and only 2% of their forces are still alive, I believe it's time for you and the Hero Faction to make your move and take the role as the Khaos Brigade's vanguard." He decided.
"I was already planning to. Look where you've really been." Cao Cao smirked.
As he said that, Great Red saw a purple mist appear as silhouettes came into view, making the Dragon of Dreams realize he had really been pulled into a dimensional space.
"You tricky bastard. I'm guessing that means you somehow have a way to bring Ophis out of the Dimensional Gap, and into range of the True Longinus' power?" He inquired.
Cao Cao smirked in response.
"Of course I do." He confirmed.
"Feel free to do whatever gets you results then, though I only have one rule for you to follow." Great Red replied.
"And that one rule of yours is...?" Cao Cao inquired.
In response, Great Red flashed a dark glare at him.
"Make sure that Ishie girl's body is intact, dead or alive... so I have the pleasure of stomping it into past myself. Otherwise, I'll kill you after your success." He warned.
Cao Cao felt a shiver upon hearing that, and slowly nodded.
"Right... threat of death fully received." Cao Cao responded.
The Dragon of Dreams smirked before vanishing from the Dimensional Space, and left the Hero Faction's members by themselves. Leaving its leader to hold up his Longinus.
"So, will this spear that kills even the Gods lead me to domination... or something else? I guess you and I will be finding out soon, White Dragon of the Devils, and I intend on being the one to survive." He declared.
And so, the Hero Faction took the stage.
