Regardless if it's been a while or recently, and as a welcome to anyone whose new to my stories, let me say hello to you all! I apologize that this isn't a new chapter, but this is important and I hope you take the time to read this update notice.

Also, to remove any worries to those familiar with the few I've made when my writing slump began? Know this update ONLY has good news this time.

Notice: This update will be deleted on 10/10 - READING IS ADVISED

To start things off, the primary part of this announcement is, as not everyone may have seen it on my profile... that I am officially out of my writing slump! Thanks to everyone whose been so supportive and understanding these last two years. However, while I am getting back to regularly updating, there are a few things that have changed since then that will affect my update rate.

First off, and this is only temporary, but my family and I will be making up for lost time with our extended family. The pandemic caused a lot of our family events (both annual and non-annual) to be canned. However, now that vaccines are able to cover nearly all ages, we're making up for it since we have our yearly Halloween Party on the way, alongside Thanksgiving and Christmas, which we all had to spend on our own since 2020 due to new family members.

I'll still try updating for the rest of 2022, but it might not be that much.

Second, which some may have noticed via the potential stories listed on my profile, I've become quite the fan of Genshin Impact and now play it regularly. On one hand this has cut into some of my writing time, but on the other, it's also helped give me new ideas because of the gorgeous landscapes and some lore I've found. The same is true with other Hoyoverse games that I don't play since their stories are all so interesting, and has helped my spark recover.

My only regret is that too much of Genshin Impact's story has yet to be released, making it too risky for me to start my fanfic idea for it because I want to avoid retconning anything if contradicted by the still unreleased content. That being said... if anyone can show me the Mondstat region story is too early in for too many retcons, then I might at least consider releasing that part.

Lastly, but most importantly, I've started restructuring how I organize my stories a little. This one's a little more complex, so I have story specific details I'll be sharing below to explain it. Though if it goes well? You can expect my updates rates to increase while also getting more to my stories than you did prior!

With all of that said, here's the story specific details:

Specific Details for Mother of the Daydreamer

Recall what I said about the Side Stories thing above? Well, this story will now be the collection for all the Side Stories of the Minor kind, and be renamed "Daydreamer of DxD: Side Stories" upon its getting its next chapter that I'll be hinting at via a preview scene.

Mother of the Daydreamer is therefore, while still a prequel, considered a Side Story and will be revised (albeit less so than the main story's chapters) so it has more quality to it. The only real major addition will be the last scene will get removed and moved into the main story. The original will become an AO3 exclusive, since the original version is still somewhat canon in its current form.

And with that, here's a preview scene to thank you all for taking time to read this.

P.S:
I am aware that Japan's education system works different when it comes to things like failing, detention, and etc., so consider this particular preview scene as the equivalent to a video game in its Alpha build state, while the others are usually between a Beta Test state and final draft. The actual scene could end up being very different as a result.

A loud scream left Katase's mouth.

"How can we be failing in art of all things!? No, better yet, how are we failing in general when I've never heard of such a thing in Japan?" Katase demanded.

"Normally you'd be right about that as it isn't part of we formed and structured our education system, but if we define this internationally..." The principal said.

Katase and Murayama flinched, with that last word being the fatal one.

"If the both of you fail to your grade up by your next big project, then I'm afraid the Bukokuden will deny the donation they were planning to give your dojo, as their current headmaster believes education in all areas is important." They continued.

Hearing that caused Katase to slump onto the principal's desk, groaning like she had just been punched in the stomach.

"Stupid elective..." She mumbled.

"Please, is there anything you can do to help us get our grades up?" Murayama begged, on the verge of shedding tears.

"I already am." The principal replied.

Katase lifted her head in response.

"We have one student whose scores in every art elective have never gone below 90, and I'm certain they'll be able to help you get your scores up in time." He revealed.

"Never a score below 90!?" Katase exclaimed, slamming her hands on his desk.

"How many art electives are we talking about?" Murayama asked, already amazed.

"All of them." The principal revealed.

Upon hearing that, the kendo cousins were left speechless and looked at each other, before looking back at the principal.

"Who is it!?" They asked.

At that moment, the principal gave a slightly uncomfortable look, confusing the duo.

"That... might be the one part you don't like, but she's your best bet." He admitted.

He cleared his throat as they felt nervous.

"The student's name is... Ishie Hyoudou."

Both of them immediately felt their eyes widen and let out a scream of surprise, before Katase slammed her hands on the desk again.

"Her!?" She asked.

"No way, anyone but her, she's... she's just so weird!" Murayama refused.

"Regardless of what you think of her, it's a done deal." The principal said.

The both groaned after hearing that.

"Karma, what did we do to deserve... on second thought, don't answer that." Katase questioned, before recalling why they were here.

A knock was heard on the door at that moment. Both of them and the principal looked towards the doorway, where Ishie was standing.

"Uh... I got asked to come here. Am I in trouble?" She inquired.

"No, you're actually here to prevent trouble." The principal smiled, motioning towards the kendo duo.

Ishie blinked in response.

"I'm... what?" She asked.

"These two need help with a project to raise their Art grade, so I'd like you to help them with said project." The principal clarified.

After hearing that, Ishie's eyes suddenly began to sparkle.

"You mean I'm the hero whose been chosen to purge the evil curse that's plaguing their minds!?" She asked, leaning forward.

Everyone stared at her.

'Oh! So, that's what these two were talking about. She's a daydreamer.' The principal thought, trying not to laugh at how minor the problem really was.

He coughed to both break the awkward air around the kendo duo, and to hide his brief snort before he accidentally released any kind of laugh in response.

"Yes, you have been chosen Ishie, now help them beat this curse!" He played along.

Both Katase and Murayama looked at the principal like he had grown a second head, while Ishie cheered while jumping and throwing her arms up, saying yes over and over.

"I won't let you down sir!" She promised.

She walked over to Murayama and Katase, having both her hands shake one of theirs each, all while giving a bright smile.

"I'm the hero, Ishie Hyoudo! What are your names?" Ishie greeted.

"Uh... I'm Katase, and this is my cousin Murayama..." Katase replied.

"Nice to meet you Katase and Murayama! Glad that we'll be in the same party for a while!" She smiled, her fantasy delusion still going strong.

"Sure..." Murayama replied.
