Alexander Snape joined the family early the following spring.
Another girl, Lila Anne Snape arrived eleven months after that.
It was a new way of life for both Mr. and Mrs. Snape.
Severus had been raised as a lonely, neglected, only child.
Suddenly, he found himself awash in a vibrant household filled with a loving mate and curious little ones.
Harriet had grown up abused and unwanted.
It was quite different for her as well to be the needed mother of such a brood, with her loving husband at her side.
Raising a family was a challenge they both enjoyed.
As time went on, neither Harriet nor Severus made any serious attempts at contraception.
Harriet enjoyed carrying Severus's little ones.
He loved watching her mother his children.
Over the next eight years, Harriet bore two sets of twins for her alpha.
Much to Severus's chagrin, his next four children were all boys; Demetri, Samuel, Vincent, and Maxwell.
The births had become easier and easier, to such an extent that the second set of Snape twins had slipped into Severus's waiting hands while the couple had anticipated the midwife's arrival.
Severus and Harriet were often the topic of judgemental conversations among those in the wizarding world, but the Snapes ignored their critics and continued to live in domestic bliss.
As Ixora entered her eleventh year of life, her family celebrated not only her birthday, but the arrival of her Hogwarts letter as well.
On the day her anticipated parcel arrived, Ixora basked in the happy glow of her parents' proud smiles while her little siblings crowded around and shouted questions.
Harriet smiled softly as she chatted with her children.
Severus gazed at his family and let out a breath as his heart swelled with pride.

Harriet's alpha had retired from the position of headmaster shortly after he had learned of his wife's sixth pregnancy, shortly before Ixora's eleventh birthday.
By that autumn, Harriet's belly had already swelled to an alarming degree as she waddled next to Severus while they accompanied their eldest daughter to Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, determined to send her off to Hogwarts with loving reassurance.
The Snapes' younger children bustled alongside their parents, all eager to have a close look at the train that would one day transport each of them to the legendary castle.
After Ixora's six siblings crowded around her and gave her gentle hugs, they all blinked up at the Hogwarts Express in silent awe.
While Harriet kept her eyes on their other little ones, Severus nodded at his eldest daughter and spoke, "Pay close attention to your studies and remember, if you have any trouble at all, your mother and I are just a letter away."
Ixora threw her arms around Severus's waist and hugged him close as she whispered, "...Thanks, Dad."
Severus frowned as he patted his daughter's back until she released him and frowned at her mother.
"You'll write to me as soon as the baby comes….Won't you, Mum?" Ixora asked with a hopeful pout.
"Oh, sweetheart!" Harriet exclaimed as she lifted her arms and welcomed her daughter.
Ixora very carefully embraced her mother, mindful not to put any pressure on her heavy belly as Harriet rubbed her back, kissed her head, and promised, "Your father will bring you straight home as soon as he or she arrives so you can meet them, alright?"
Harriet beamed as she watched her daughter's face light up with an excited smile as she exclaimed, "Alright, Mum!"
As the train whistle blew, Ixora bid her family one last goodbye before she boarded the Hogwarts Express.
Severus, Harriet, and their remaining little ones waved to her as the train pulled away.
Harriet quickly wiped the pesky tears that had gathered in her green eyes, but Severus noticed as he frowned and drawled, "My love, it's only for a short while……"
"I know….I know it is, Sev." Harriet sniffed, "She's already planned to come home at least two weekends a month, it's just……You know how I am at a time like this."
Severus watched as his mate sighed and cradled her full belly.
While they walked away from the platform, he lovingly held his wife's hand in his.

After the Snape family arrived home, Severus tricked his rambunctious pups into following him around while he settled Harriet comfortably into her nest.
The smaller Snape children flopped down next to their mother and rolled about until they cuddled against her while they closed their eyes for a nap.
Alexander and Lila stood by the door and whispered to one another while they watched their parents.
Severus let them talk while he eased Harriet back against the pillows.
"Is there anything I may bring you, my love?" He asked.
"I'm fine, Sev." Harriet smiled as she took his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze, "...I have you."
Despite the noises of disgust that came from Alexander and Lila, Severus leaned in and pressed a sweet kiss to Harriet's soft lips.
"I love you, Sev." Harriet whispered as she lifted her hand to cup his face.
He kissed the inside of her palm before he sent her off to a drowsy respite as he gazed into her eyes and declared, "...And I love you…….Harriet Snape."
As Harriet went to sleep with a smile on her face, she delighted in feeling her alpha's next child move within her womb as several of his others lay snuggled against her.
Severus rose to his feet and led their two elder children downstairs for lunch after he cracked the bedroom door, wanting to hear if his mate or pups called for him.
A proud smirk formed on his face while he listened to his little ones chatter excitedly about their eventful morning.
As he prepared food for his family with a few waves of his wand, Severus glanced from the open window, which revealed the peacefulness of the nearby forest, to the cherub-like faces of his son and daughter who sat waiting on their meal.
In their green eyes, he saw his darling wife perfectly reflected.
It amazed Severus Snape how fortunate he had been to gain Harriet Potter's love.
The Chosen One had chosen him.
