Regardless if it's been a while or recently, and as a welcome to anyone whose new to my stories, let me say hello to you all! I apologize that this isn't a new chapter, but this is important and I hope you take the time to read this update notice.
Also, to remove any worries to those familiar with the few I've made when my writing slump began? Know this update ONLY has good news this time.
Notice: This update will be deleted on 10/10 - READING IS ADVISED
To start things off, the primary part of this announcement is, as not everyone may have seen it on my profile... that I am officially out of my writing slump! Thanks to everyone whose been so supportive and understanding these last two years. However, while I am getting back to regularly updating, there are a few things that have changed since then that will affect my update rate.
First off, and this is only temporary, but my family and I will be making up for lost time with our extended family. The pandemic caused a lot of our family events (both annual and non-annual) to be canned. However, now that vaccines are able to cover nearly all ages, we're making up for it since we have our yearly Halloween Party on the way, alongside Thanksgiving and Christmas, which we all had to spend on our own since 2020 due to new family members.
I'll still try updating for the rest of 2022, but it might not be that much.
Second, which some may have noticed via the potential stories listed on my profile, I've become quite the fan of Genshin Impact and now play it regularly. On one hand this has cut into some of my writing time, but on the other, it's also helped give me new ideas because of the gorgeous landscapes and some lore I've found. The same is true with other Hoyoverse games that I don't play since their stories are all so interesting, and has helped my spark recover.
My only regret is that too much of Genshin Impact's story has yet to be released, making it too risky for me to start my fanfic idea for it because I want to avoid retconning anything if contradicted by the still unreleased content. That being said... if anyone can show me the Mondstat region story is too early in for too many retcons, then I might at least consider releasing that part.
Lastly, but most importantly, I've started restructuring how I organize my stories a little. This one's a little more complex, so I have story specific details I'll be sharing below to explain it. Though if it goes well? You can expect my updates rates to increase while also getting more to my stories than you did prior!
With all of that said, here's the story specific details:
Specific Details for Another A Live
Since this story isn't going to be too long, due to how it follows the pace the original did, I'll be updating this more sparingly. The entire outline has been made, so it's a matter of when I'll finish it more than anything else.
I really can't say much more without repeating myself, so... I'll instead talk about the likelihood of any other stories getting a reboot as of now. Right now, there's one story that might, with that being "When Dawn meets Dusk", though like Dark, but Not Evil will do so in a much smaller form at a much bigger scope of change. As I've made a lot of stories that have gone for a complex storyline? I think this one will instead be a Slice of Life story, as it has the right setup for it due to the things I revealed in its first chapter, so it'll just be a normal Boy meets Girl story if the story gets revived at all For the likelihood of it being revived? I'd say it's... 50/50.
And with that, here's a preview scene to thank you all for taking time to read this.
Whatever Westcott had said in response? She ignored it, just like she had before, knowing he didn't have the weight to actually carry it. She just naturally released the surge of power that she had upon awakening their full extent from the trauma of Shinji's death.
Westcott was left surprised by this, and Mio escaped with the currently lifeless body of Shinji.
"So, she got away." He stated.
He let out a sigh, but then smiled, seeing Mio's escape as a mere setback.
"No matter, we still have the girl. I'm sure that she'll be-" Westcott stated.
The sign of his phone ringing cut him off.
"Yes?" He answered, wondering what it was.
"Just so you know, sir... we don't really know how to explain this, but I swear that I'm telling you the truth right now." An employee answered.
"Go on?" Westcott replied while raising an eye.
"The girl... she seems to have teleported somewhere! She's gone!" They revealed in a panic.
Westcott went silent, all while Mio reappeared in a classroom inside Kiyomiya High, and sighed.
"We... we're all here." She breathed.
Mio placed the lifeless body of Shinji, and the comatose form of Mana, on the desks before her. After Mana had been brought into Ratatoskr's care to restore her lifespan, Mio had peaked at the specifics of what happened to her after being taken.
She was thrown into what she assumed was, or at least an equivalent to, the cryosleep seen in certain sci-fi works. Due to using Mana's memories as a guide, she didn't have any clue on how to free her, just that she was awakened around when Kotori become thirteen. Then again, she could be wrong as she didn't see too many dates to confirm it.
'I guess I'll just have to do the same with her as I will with Shin.' Mio realized.
At least this way Mana would be safe, regardless of how things went from here.
"Now that this issue is out of the way... where do I go from here? Kurumi said that things might still try to follow the same path, and provided Origami's parents simply didn't replace a different car when they got into the accident, that means only one potential path makes sense. Especially when I consider Yoshino, Natsumi, and Miku's situations."
That was the big can of worms.
She did ruin Kurumi's life due to giving Sawa the Camael Crystal, yet Yoshino and Natsumi nearly died, so her ignoring them might risk their deaths. Would she be able to just heal Yoshino's illness? Could she just knock out Natsumi's mother? Was it possible to restore Miku's voice?
It was really hard to know how to handle this, especially after recalling the situation with the Yamai sisters.
"But wait, even if I didn't..." She realized.
Everyone she had to kill to filter the crystals in the first place. Now that she was in the past, that was another issue, as she'd be remaking them in the same unfiltered states that caused her whole fallout with Kurumi.
"Not to mention Kotori's was never fully filtered, which is why she always went berserk while using them. Oh man... if only I had them already." Mio sighed, feeling stressed.
At that moment, she heard a few twinkling sound besides her. Turning her head, her eyes widen as ten shining lights of different colors sparkled into view and became the ten Sephira crystals of the original timeline!
"I... I don't believe it, they're all here! How is this even... wait a minute." Mio asked.
She returned to this point of time from a fusion of both Kurumi's Vav and her Yud Bet.
"Since I came mentally, you came physically!" She realized.
Now that she had all of them, she didn't have to worry about needing to refine them. In fact, Camael should now be fully refined, so Kotori wouldn't have issues with using it.
"Stressing out over this isn't helping me. I should try and find Nia, and hopefully she'll understand things. Then we can use Rasiel to help me figure things out." She decided.
Rasiel glowed a little in response, and Mio was surprised to hear a message from it.
"Ah, I see. There's no point because Nia hasn't been born ye... eh?" Mio responded.
Her mind paused for a moment as she just processed what Rasiel had told her, comparing it to her memories of the previous timeline, and felt the top half of her face go blue.
"WhAAaaAAAAaAAAaaT!?"
Things might have gone awry.
