Regardless if it's been a while or recently, and as a welcome to anyone whose new to my stories, let me say hello to you all! I apologize that this isn't a new chapter, but this is important and I hope you take the time to read this update notice.
Also, to remove any worries to those familiar with the few I've made when my writing slump began? Know this update ONLY has good news this time.
Notice: This update will be deleted on 10/10 - READING IS ADVISED
To start things off, the primary part of this announcement is, as not everyone may have seen it on my profile... that I am officially out of my writing slump! Thanks to everyone whose been so supportive and understanding these last two years. However, while I am getting back to regularly updating, there are a few things that have changed since then that will affect my update rate.
First off, and this is only temporary, but my family and I will be making up for lost time with our extended family. The pandemic caused a lot of our family events (both annual and non-annual) to be canned. However, now that vaccines are able to cover nearly all ages, we're making up for it since we have our yearly Halloween Party on the way, alongside Thanksgiving and Christmas, which we all had to spend on our own since 2020 due to new family members.
I'll still try updating for the rest of 2022, but it might not be that much.
Second, which some may have noticed via the potential stories listed on my profile, I've become quite the fan of Genshin Impact and now play it regularly. On one hand this has cut into some of my writing time, but on the other, it's also helped give me new ideas because of the gorgeous landscapes and some lore I've found. The same is true with other Hoyoverse games that I don't play since their stories are all so interesting, and has helped my spark recover.
My only regret is that too much of Genshin Impact's story has yet to be released, making it too risky for me to start my fanfic idea for it because I want to avoid retconning anything if contradicted by the still unreleased content. That being said... if anyone can show me the Mondstat region story is too early in for too many retcons, then I might at least consider releasing that part.
Lastly, but most importantly, I've started restructuring how I organize my stories a little. This one's a little more complex, so I have story specific details I'll be sharing below to explain it. Though if it goes well? You can expect my updates rates to increase while also getting more to my stories than you did prior!
With all of that said, here's the story specific details:
Specific Details for Daydreamer Dragon
Before I share anything specific to this story, I'll be sharing some details it will share with two others, since it's part of my "Big Three" fanfics (the ones with the most content planned for them) and said idea is tied to their sizes.
Part of my new organizing technique is that I'll be using Side Stories to help share content that I find will be hard to fit into the story. Not so much that I'll be unable to add them in, but that doing so would require either an arc that counts as a whole flashback, or as either episodic/sporadic scenes across a few chapters. The former's got a lot of problems in properly executing it, while the latter's main issue is tricky to properly do and can end up being a hassle.
I'll be sharing these Side Stories via two ways, Minor and Major.
Those that fall into the Minor category will be put into a single story, like an anthology of sorts. Those that fall into the Major category will be entire stories of their own since they're unique or big enough to be separated into their own. This also means some of the Side Stories that were formerly AO3 exclusives will be transferred over here, but not all of them depending on what they are, including those that I have yet to publish.
Now, with that out of the way, to the actual story specific info.
Progress on revision the original Ch 1 into two is taking a while, but it's being made. The results will definitely be worth it once its ready. The bigger news I have for everyone is that the Daydreamer Series as I'll now be calling it has evolved from a duology into a trilogy!
My original plan was to have Daydreamer Dragon end around V12 of the novels, but a fight that will occur not long from where things paused at ended up having a feeling of finality to it, so... yeah. The only real change this has on everything is the story's adaptations of V8 to V12 is becoming a separate story called Daydreamer Devil, while the post V12 content is the original sequel I had planned called Daydreamer Destiny.
There's some news related to Mother of the Daydreamer as well, but since each story has its own update notice, those details will be mentioned over there. Though, at the very least, I'll say the story will be sticking around.
And with that, here's a preview scene to thank you all for taking time to read this.
Everyone panted as they saw the plume of smoke left by Ishie's use of Compression Divider.
"Holy freaking crap...!" Kuroka breathed.
"Like I said, had we been too close, it would have killed us all. Hopefully, the fact Ishie's killed that bastard means she's finally-" Lint stated.
She felt her words fail as the smoke vanished... yet Ishie wasn't there.
"Wait, where's Ishie? She should have been right there-" Lint questioned.
The pillar they stood near broke, making everyone scream as a strong win hit them, which was followed by a loud roar as Ishie flew overhead... still in the Juggernaut Drive.
"Ishie still hasn't gone back to normal?" Kiba questioned.
More feral roars escaped Ishie's mouth as she began firing blasts of white energy, and releasing energy blades with every flap of her wings. It didn't matter who it was, her attacks were attacking anyone and everyone, though the deaths had been limited to the Old Satan Faction who were too fanatical to try running away or just didn't see the storm of destruction she was bringing due to focusing on everyone besides her.
However, there was no way the Alliance would stay that lucky for much longer if she wasn't stopped. Unfortunately, right now, the question was how they could stop her? With the Juggernaut Drive active, she was basically as powerful as Albion when he still had a body... and the cost of stopping just one Heavenly Dragon was already a massive one.
"What can we do?" Rias asked, almost begging.
"So, she actually used it, huh?" Someone stated.
Rias and the others turned around to see none other than the members of the Vali Team, and in Vali's arms was...
"Asia!" They all shouted.
Everyone ran up to Vali as he handed Asia to Xenovia, who cried tears of joy at her survival.
"She was sent to the Dimensional Gap, and luckily right before our eyes." Arthur explained.
"But that won't stop our current issue..." Vali said.
Ishie stopped, as if realizing his arrival, and letting the Dragon instincts that had currently consumed her try and triangulate his current location via Ddraig's aura.
"You wouldn't know this because the Heavenly Dragons aren't ones to share such a weakness, but the Juggernaut Drive only gets undone in two ways." He shared.
"And those are...?" Lint asked worriedly.
"Either you have to forcibly dispel it, regardless of its the user or an outside force, or... the use will continue to burn through their life force until they die." Vai revealed.
This caused the entire ORC to gasp.
"Though in this case, since Ishie's the one bonded to Albion, it's much worse than that." He quickly added.
"How in the living hell could it get even worse than her basically having a death march!?" Kuroka questioned.
"Because of her heritage." Vali stated.
He looked in Ishie's direction, sensing her demonic power flowing into her scale mail, rather than life force... and the aura it made around her body was still incredibly huge, shrinking too slowly for anyone to see.
"Her demonic power is currently substituting for her life force. It'll take a full hour before her life force is touched in the slightest, and she continues rampaging for that long, no one will survive. Not when she used rage as the transformation's trigger." He explained.
"I take it back... that is definitely worse. So, how can we change her back?" Kuroka asked.
Vali looked at everyone.
"Please, help us! Neither you or Ddraig want her to die before you fight her? Much less defeat her life this, when it isn't really Ishie fighting you!" Shirone begged.
["While it's annoying to admit... you're right, my pride as a Dragon won't accept such a victory."] Ddraig admitted, knowing Albion was silent right now.
This made Vali sigh.
["And your thoughts?"] He asked, wondering if he had a different opinion.
"Relax, I agree, despite I hate admitting it out aloud." Vali reluctantly replied.
His wings spread out in response.
"Figure out whatever you can. In the meantime, I'll get her attention and keep her distracted." Vali stated, smirking as his lust for battle took over.
Everyone watched as he took to the sky, and his Balance Breaker manifested, before emitting the same aura Ishie had before she had transformed.
"I, who shall awaken!"
"It's starting..."
"The time has finally come..."
"I am the Heavenly Dragon who stole the principles of Domination from God!"
"It has always been this way..."
"That is correct. Always and forever..."
"I mock the infinite, and fret over the dream!"
"What the world desires..."
"What the world rejects..."
"And shall become the Red Dragon of Domination!"
"Has always been power..."
"Has always been love..."
"No matter the occasion, you always choose the path to ruin!"
"So, I shall drown you in the depths of Crimson Purgatory!"
"JUGGERNAUT DRIVE!"
Everyone saw Vali's equivalent of the form, as it quickly sped towards Ishie.
She gave a loud roar as they collided in midair, causing an explosion of light.
