Jim in his troll-half form stumbles upon a strange door that takes him to another universe, where he encounters Hilda who has recently been turned into a troll and is trying to change back into a human. The two of them become friends as they try to return to being human and help both the trolls and the human citizens of Trolberg.

The group consisting of Jim, Hilda, Claire, Merlin, Johanna, Baba, Twig, Frida, David, and Tontu made their way through the woods searching for the Void of No Return and being on the lookout for any trolls roaming the woods. They traveled for some time, until they came to the foot of the mountain, so far the search hadn't uncovered much, but the group wasn't going to just give up. Too much was at risk. They were about to try to find a way into the mountain, when they heard some rustling from the bushes and trees. The group readied their weapons expecting to face a threat, but out walked Trylla.

Jim and Hilda relaxed as they recognized Trylla. Baba recognized her mother and happily jumped out of Johanna's arms and ran to her. Trylla smiled down at her child and happily picked her up and hugged her. It was then that an odd feeling came over both Hilda and Baba and there was a flash of light from both of them. Trylla was stunned to see that Baba now had her original stone complexion and skin. Everyone looked at the troll child and then turned to Hilda who was now human again and standing behind a large rock with a embarrassed look on her face.

"Well I'm me again...though I can use some clothes." Said Hilda.

"We'll just take Baba's clothes." Said Johanna a few seconds before Baba ripped the clothes to shreds.

"I thought something like this would be happen, so I brought extras." Said Tontu as he pulled out some spare clothes from his pack and tossed them to Hilda to change into.

"I don't understand how Hilda and Baba returned to normal." Said Jim.

"By reuniting the children with their mothers the spell must have been undone." Said Merlin.

"I thank you for returning my daughter to me, but I'm afraid I have some bad news." Said Trylla.

"What is it?" Asked Hilda as stepped out from behind the rock fully dressed.

"You can still understand her?" Asked Frida.

"Guess it's a side affect." Said Hilda with a shrug.

"The Mountain King has regained his eye and broken free from his prison! He's rallying the trolls to march and invade Trolberg!" Said Trylla.

The group exchanged nervous looks before they took off towards Trolberg.
