After pulling a trigger, kunai and shuriken would be thrown at him, and he had to dodge them accurately. However, the whole area was wrapped with ninja wire, so he could only move in specific directions.

He was doing all this while blindfolded. A clone would change the course after each round so he wouldn't memorize the terrain. It was good training for his senses. While he could detect people's chakra, inanimate objects didn't have that quality.

One thing he learned early in his the was not always to trust his sensing abilities. The lesson was deeply engraved in his memory, along with the lifeless body of Lee with a kunai on his neck. He was reckless. He believed himself invincible.

It was a mistake. He was tired and trying to push back an army of Zetsu to make way for others to retreat. One moment he fought along his clones. The next, he felt someone push him to the ground.

It didn't even register in his mind that Lee was hit until his lifeless body fell on top of him. He doesn't remember much after him except a feeling of rage, but the next day, he was found in a crater with hundreds of Zetsus dead beside him.

After that incident, he spent all his downtime training himself to fight without each of his senses. This helped him prepare each of his senses to perfection. If he couldn't see an obstacle, he would try and hear or smell it and vice versa.

Right now, he was trying to hear the incoming objects and send small unnoticeable pulses of chakra to locate the wires. It was similar to echolocation but with chakra. His primary element was wind so that he would stretch his chakra, and through the air, he could feel the wires.

It was hard for him to do this in the beginning since all the info would mostly tell him the distance of objects, and he had to make a three-dimensional map in his head. He never got around to this kind of training in his current life.

With his limited reach and shorter limbs, it was easy to miscalculate his moves, but the ROOT training gave him a head start. The first few runs weren't so good. he was using stones instead of kunai and shuriken to avoid serious injuries.

He could dodge most of the stones but kept tripping over the wires. After some time, he was aware that he had an audience. He couldn't recognize the chakra, but it wasn't hostile. Just curious. So he decided to ignore it and keep training.

It was near dusk when he decided to end the training. He finally got around to dodging all stones and started using natural weapons, but he would still throw them too slow for his liking. The person watching him left a while ago, but Naruto wasn't worried.

After all, it was his goal to get recognized by people. He packed his stuff and went back to the base for the night. He wrote his report and put it on a stack near Danzo's office. He had dinner and went back to his room for the night.

Naruto didn't like to think about team 9 very often. Neji was the first to die from the rookie 12. Still, it was the beginning of the tragic fate of others. Lee was never the same after his death.

Lee was a lot quieter, and when he thought no one was watching, he would often have this far away look as if he was forcing himself to ground to present.

Tenten often cried at night when she was alone but kept pushing herself to help everyone in the war. She was a combat seal maker and a master of many weapons, so they all needed her.

She would also teach everyone basic fuinjutsu to help them in combat. Her seals helped prevent many deaths before Naruto was ready to become a seal master. During the war, Naruto started learning the art, but it took him very long to become a master.

Fuinjutsu was a complicated art and had many areas of expertise. His mother specialized in offensive seals, while his father and the Nidaime were masters of space-time seals. Jiraiya area was mainly related to infiltration and hiding.

Naruto decided to learn a bit about these areas to respect his idols, but after finding the sealing vault in Uzushiogakure, he chose defensive and barrier seals. It took him a while, but he managed to thrive.

After Lee's death, Tenten was so detached from reality. She was never the same person again. When she was on a sensitive mission with a team to steal supplies, they were ambushed, and Tenten took her final stance.

They didn't manage to recover her body since she decided to blow the enemy up along with herself. It was devastating for the remainder of rookie 12 to hear the news.

Gai-sensei soon followed his students in death. The youthful man couldn't bear it anymore. Others in rookie 12 all had similar fates. One by one they all fell to protect each other. To maybe give others a chance of survival.

Naruto failed them all. He couldn't save his loved ones. Everyone was dead; all he could do now was to make sure it would never happen again. He couldn't bear to see any of them hurt. Anyone who wanted to get to them would have to get through him.

Since Naruto was given his mission, his training also changed during the week. He was learning working with different weapons and new taijutsu styles. They would teach him a new skill, and when they thought he was ready, he would fight other agents with that skill to measure his level.

His main taijutsu style was the Uzumaki style. In one of his medical reports, they discovered that he had the right chakra for chakra chains, but since they didn't have any scroll or an Uzumaki with the knowledge, they didn't know how they would activate.

They tried different methods to trigger them but were unsuccessful, so they decided to wait and see. That's why they chose this style for his taijutsu to complement the chains when they were developed.

The style focused on flexibility and agility to dodge the attacks and use a weapon or chains for attacking. It was an excellent style for mid and high range, but since he didn't have the chains, they thought him another style for short range.

The style was old and had a few names, but it was focused on flexibility and kicks to keep the hands free for Jutsu. He would use his legs to keep the opponent at a distance so he could use his weapon or a Jutsu.

The style also forced the opponent into an awkward position since most hits and attacks were focused on the legs, which were usually less protected. Naruto was also learning katas and other styles to add unpredictability to his moves.

Since he managed well in those areas, they taught him to fight enemies with unique abilities or kekkei genkai. He was also practicing fighting against genjutsu users. The best part about it was that he was also learning to cast genjutsu.

They taught him many chakra control exercises. He needed to learn and master them to start learning medical jutsu. Many of his lessons were about human anatomy and weak points to target in a fight.

He convinced Danzo very subtly that learning medical ninjutsu could help him heal himself in case of severe injuries. If he was with a team with his unlimited chakra, he could heal them in case of emergencies and higher his chance of success in a mission.

He couldn't use healing jutsu yet, but he had enough knowledge about human anatomy and first aid to be helpful. Even for genjutsu, the most he could do were minor distractions. He couldn't change the whole scenery.

He would mostly try to do small perception genjutsus to make the opponent believe that things are closer or farther than they seem or cover objects like kunai or shuriken so the opponent won't see them.

To Naruto, these were most useful since he was a heavy fighter and didn't have the patience or control to do complicated genjutsu. Even now, he could only hold the genjutsu for a few seconds, and he would leave himself open during those seconds.

It would be suitable for situations where he had a backup. Plus, he wasn't at a level to cast the jutsu without hand signs yet, so that was also a problem. Still, genjutsu was a skill he respected and wanted to learn, so it was for the best.

Another change that happened was that he was taught shadow clone jutsu. He was limited to 1 clone for the time being. The clone was sent to study, which mainly consisted of medical books and poisons for the time being.

Naruto was enjoying the amount of information he was learning, especially since he didn't have time to get in-depth knowledge on subjects during the war. He was also working on his etiquette and social skills at events.

One thing he never knew was that some of Danzo's agents weren't trained as shinobi but rather spies. They were all over elemental nations in different areas to gather information. Most of them were acting as civilians holding low positions to avoid attention.

Still, it was enough to gather general information about the situation of each country. These agents were taught to act appropriately to their situation. They were still emotionally and mentally conditioned, but they could make a mask and pretend.

Naruto has lessons to learn about how to act like a child and shinobi. He is learning to be playful with the children and well-mannered against adults. After all, his mask was Danzo's ward and pupil, so his behavior would reflect that.

He was told that when acting as a shinobi, he should still give to childish urges once in a while to pretend as a child who wants to act mature and not the perfect soldier he will become. However, he should never be disrespectful.

Also, he had to act clumsy and make mistakes as well to cover his skills to a level of genin. Despite public belief in his last life, Naruto was a good actor. After all, he had the mask of a cheerful child his entire life.

Naruto was surprised about the changes, but that was to be expected. He was six and at the age when he should go to the academy but wasn't allowed to do so. Maybe Sandaime insisted on giving Naruto a more public life.

Naruto believed that it was mostly guilt. In the past, the reanimated Sandaime told him about all his mistakes and guilt and asked for forgiveness. It was a hard conversation, and Naruto forgave him but also told him that he could not look at him as his Jiji anymore.

Naruto cried and broke down, saying he wanted to but couldn't. The Sandaime hugged him and told him it was ok and he had every right to feel this way, and he would use all the time he had reanimated to atone. By the end of his time in the past timeline, Naruto had a normal relationship with the Sandaime, but they weren't close anymore.

Currently, Naruto is working on his Kenjutsu. His favorite weapons were a Daisho with a Katana and a Wakizashi. He knew that his mother was a kenjutsu master and that she used a Katana. He was hoping to replace his current one with that.

He knew it was impossible for the time being, so he just stuck with what the ROOT provided him. Also, there was the problem of his height. He couldn't utilize those weapons to the fullest, so he was now using a wakizashi and a tanto.

It wasn't the best, but it worked well for him. he also used a Bo staff for having a longer reach. Day by day, he was learning more and more. He was powerful before, but that was primarily due to ninjutsu and his speed and strength, but now he was becoming strong by being skillful.
