Okey, someone asked when does this story take place and honestly, I was planning to leave it ambiguous, because the Sonic timeline is a can of worms I don't want to get into, but let's just say that the story takes place five years into the future (whatever the future means) and all the characters are five years older than they are canonically. I hope that was a satisfying answer, now let's get to the story!
chapter 3: Bachelorette party
Before Blaze could attend the bachelorette party Amy was throwing for her, the princess had to take care of something. The Sol emeralds were safe with her, but there were other treasures that needed to be guarded- her family's jewels. Most of the guests were heroes, but it was one of them that Blaze was afraid of- a certain white bat with very sticky fingers. Blaze was not taking any chances with Rouge, so she summoned the person she trusted the most outside of Silver- Marine.
''I am sorry you wouldn't be able to attend the party,'' Blaze said to her best friend ''but I can't give this task to anyone else but you!''
"Don't worry, mate!'' Marine said as she took out her sword ''That bat bimbo won't go pass me!''
''Rouge is anything but a bimbo, though,'' Blaze said seriously ''and she is quite the formidable fighter. That's why I am going to leave two of the guards with you!''
''But ya said ya trust me!''
''I do, but some extra help won't be unnecessary. You are still going to be in charge, though. Isn't that good?''
''Yeah, I guess...''
''Okey, now let's go!'' the princess said to her friend and the two guards, a pink female deer and a brown male badger, as they were making their way to the vault the jewels were at- in the bedroom of Blaze's late parents.
''I am going to check on you once the party is over!'' Blaze ordered as the guards and Marine took their place in front of the vault ''Until then do not leave your positions! Understood?''
''Yes, Your Majesty!'' the two guards responded.
''You got it, Blaze!'' Marine responded.
With that Blaze parted with the guardians and started walking towards her bedroom, where her bachelorette party was going to be.
''Hello, my friends, I hope you didn't have to-aaaugh'' Blaze greeted her friends, but was interrupted by a flash of light in her face.
''Oh, dang it!'' Tangle, who was holding a camera in her hands, exclaimed ''You blinked!''
''Tangle, is that really necessary!'' asked Belle.
''Yes, it is!'' the lemur responded ''I've made it my duty to capture every moment of this wedding!''
''I appreciate the effort, Tangle'' Blaze said ''but there will be professional photographers on the wedding.''
Tangle took another photo of Blaze ''I don't see any photographers here, other than me!''
Blaze didn't have time to response as Amy hugged her "Did I mention how happy I am for you?" the pink hedgehog asked.
"At least five times since your arrival." Blaze answered.
"Well, I am gonna say it again: I so happy for you, Blaze!"
"We all are." Vanilla added as she and Cream hugged the princess once Amy released her.
"It's too bad Marine won't be on the party, though." Cream said, a little sad.
"Yes, but trust me, she has a very important job to take care of." Blaze assured the bunny.
"You are probably right, miss Blaze."
"Oh Blaze, show us the ring!" Amy couldn't hold her excitement.
"Well, I wasn't planning to, but..." Blaze said and showed her friends a small black box. Inside was a golden ring with a very beautiful dark purple gemstone.
"Ohh, it looks so AWESOME!" Tangle exclaimed, with stars in her eyes.
"May I see it?" Rouge asked.
"Uuuaaaauu sure..." Blaze was uncertain whether she should allow Rouge to get to the ring or not, but with everyone else around Blaze assumed it was safe.
Rouge pulled out a grinder loupe out of her cleavage, took the ring and started examining the gem.
"You carry this around with you?" Jewel asked, surprised.
"You never know when you might need it." Rouge replied and continued with the examination.
"The grinders really did an amazing job!" Rouge said, while still looking through the loupe "The color is a killer (in the good way). As for how expensive it is, I would say... enough to feed an entire sumo team for twenty years!"
"Wow, that's a lot of money!" Jewel's jaw dropped "Where did you get it from, Blaze?"
"It was my mother's." the cat explained "Silver is going to carry my father's ring."
"That's really nice." Vanilla said getting a little teary-eyed.
"Thank you." Blaze responded as she took her ring back from Rouge.
"Well, enough with the rings, let's party!" Amy exclaimed as she took a bottle of wine and started pouring it down in glasses.
After half-an hour all the girls had drunk a good amount of wine. The only ones who hadn't drunk any were Cream and Belle (Cream being too young and Belle not being organic). Some of the girls, however, apparently had a little to much wine. One such girl was Tangle.
"Hey, Whisper," Tangle said to her friend, clearly drunk "Have I ever told you how pretty you are?"
A crimson blush appeared on the wolf's face "Uuuaaaau, no..."
"Well I am now. And you also have a very nice body. I am glad your shirt is shoulderless. This way I can watch your big, round, juicy bo-"
"Oooookeeey, Tangle!" Jewel interupted her friend awkwardly "I think you've had enough wain!"
"Yeah, I agree!" Whisper agreed, still very flushed.
"Wow, Tangle really can't take a lot of alcohol!" Amy laughed.
"Yes, maybe it's time we do something else." Blaze said, not wanting for her other guests to get drunk as well.
"Oh, I got just the thing!" Amy smiled as she pulled out a deck of cards "Ta-da!"
"No!" Belle said firmly "No fortune telling cards!"
"Why not?!" Amy asked in shock.
"Because the last time you used those around me, I almost burned!"
"Hey, it's not my fault Surge desided to set the forest on fire!"
Jewel nugged Amy and pointed at Whisper, who was apparently feeling uneasy. Amy then remembered that it wasn't a good idea to bring the green tenrec in Whisper's presence. Too many bad memories.
''Oh, sorry Whisper.'' the hedgehog apologized.
''It's okey!'' the wolf responded ''It's not your fault.''
Blaze could feel the atmosphere getting heavy so she turned to Amy ''So, the cards!''
''Oh, right!'' Amy then started messing her cards ' I am going to use these to see your fate.'''
''That sounds interesting.'' the cat said, a little sceptical about her friend's ''powers''.
Amy pulled one of the cards and looked at it ''Huh, interesting...''
''What is it?'' asked Blaze.
''This card says that there will be happiness in your near future, but also danger!'' Amy then showed a card with a bride and a shadowy figure on it.
''How... accurate are these cards?'' Blaze asked, a little hesitant.
''Pretty accurate I would say.'' Jewel answered.
Before anything else could be said, someone knocked on the door.
''I'll get it!'' Blaze got up and made her way to the door. It was one of the maids.
''Your Majesry, I am terribly sorry for interrupting your party, but there is a... gentleman who says you've hired him.''
Blaze got out of her room a looked at the "gentleman". He was tall and muscular red fox, dressed in a red overalls and a firefighter helmet. In his hands he was holding a fake axe.
"So, where is the fire?" the fox asked in a sultry tone.
It didn't take Blaze long to realize that this man wasn't a firefighter, but a... "dancer".
"What are you doing here, sir?" Blaze asked, trying to be as polite as possible.
"Someone ordered a firefighter, and the firefighter has arrived!"
Blaze's blood was about to boil, but she managed to hide it "Excuse me for a moment!" she said and entered back into her room.
"Rouge!" Blaze hissed with evident anger in her voice "Did you order the dancer?"
But no answer came. Just then Blaze noticed that Rouge was nowhere to be seen.
"Have you seen Rouge?" the cat asked Vanilla.
"Now that you've said it, I haven't seen her in a while." the mother rabbit responded.
"Me neither!" Cream added.
At that moment Blaze's blood ran from biling hot to ice cold. She knew exactly where Rouge was.
"I have to go!" Blaze said urgently and started ringing twards the door.
"Wait, where are you going?" Amy asked.
"To stop Rouge!" Blaze answered firmly.
Amy didn't really knew what was going on, but she was ready to help her friend "I am coming with you!"
"Me too!" Whisper said as she got up.
Blaze smiled "Thank you, my friends!"
"I am coming as well!" Cream said.
"No Cream, there's no need for all of us to get involved. Us three can manage!" Blaze stopped the bunny.
"Listen to miss Blaze, dear!" Vanilla said to her daughter.
"Ugh, fine!" Cream crossed her arms, a little angry.
Blaze, Amy and Whisper left the room, only to run into to dancer again.
"So, are these two hotties the reason for the fire?" he asked, still as sultry as before.
"You are still hear!?" Blaze exclaimed.
"Blaze, who is this?" Amy asked.
"A distraction Rouge has ordered to keep our attention!"
"I can be a destination if you like. I can be whatever you want!"
At that moment an idea struck Blaze. It was probably not a very good one, but it was all she could think of. The girls that had remained in the room shouldn't be bored while Blaze was away and this man could provide them entertainment.
Blaze took out some money from her pocket and handed them to to fox "Go in there and entertain the girls in my absence!"
"You got it!" the "firefighter" winked and started walking tawrds the door.
"Let's go!" Blaze said to her to friends and the three started ring through the hallway.
Soon Blaze, Amy and Whisper were in front of the room where the vault was.
Blaze open the door and the three girls entered, only to find the vault opened and empty. As for Marine and the two guards, they were on the floor, tied up and gagged.
"Mlumm!" Marine mumbled through the gag upon seeing her best friend.
"Who did this?" Blaze asked as she removed the gag from Marine's mouth.
"I don't know!" the raccoon answered "A smok came out of nowhere and blinded me and the guards. Then we were knocked out. When we woke up, we were all tied up."
"Should we raise the alarm, Your Highness?" the male guard asked while Amy was untying him.
"No need! Me and my friends will take care of the thief!" Blaze answered.
"But, Your Highness-" the female guard tried to argue, but was interrupted by Blaze.
"I said I will take care of it! You three stay here in case the thief returns!"
After seeing that there was no point in arguing with the princess, Marine and the guards obeyed the order.
Blaze, Amy and Whisper ran back into the hallway. Shortly afterwards they found one of the butlers cleaning.
"Excuse me, have you seen a white female bat?" Blaze asked.
"Oh yes, she flew through this hallway not so long ago. She was heading towards the garden."
"Thank you!" Blaze said as she and the girls started running again.
"Oh, you are too beautiful to be locked in a vault!" Rouge said to a golden necklace with a red gem. She was currently sitting on a tree branch in the garden, with her bounty next to her "But now you are with mama Rouge and I will take a good care of you!"
"Too bad you are not their mother!" a voice Rouge knew all too well spoke. Rouge looked down to see Blaze, Amy and Whisper staring at her. And they didn't look happy.
"Kitty, Pinkie, Wolfie, what a pleasant surprise!" Rouge exclaimed, hoping to talk her way out of the situation.
"Not so pleasant if you ask me!" Blaze said, obviously trying to hold her anger "Now give me back my jewelry!"
"Oh, but they like me better! Right, cuties?"
"Yes, we do!" Rouge said with a child-like voice, pretending it was the necklace.
Blaze was not hiding her anger any more "Last chance: give me back the jewels!"
"Oh come on, you have so many!" Rouge said innocently "Can't I have some too?"
Blaze has had enough "AMY!" the cat shouted.
Amy took out her hammer at hit the tree with it, causing Rouge to lose her balance. Fortunately (for the bat) she immediately started flying.
"Sorry, princess, but that's- aaugh!" Rouge tried to sass, but was interrupted by a wisp blast that nearly hit her.
"Really, Wolfie!" Rouge turned to Whisper "I thought we were friends!"
Rouge didn't hear the wolf's response as she was attacked by Blaze.
"YOU COME TO MY HOME!" Blaze growled as she attempted to hit Rouge with a fiery first (she missed).
"YOU ABUSE MY HOSPITALITY!" she tried to kick Rouge.
"YOU STEAL FROM ME!" Blaze once again tried to hit Rouge with a fist, and this time she did hit her, sending the bat into a nearby bush.
"AND YOU ORDER A DIRTY DANCER ON MY PARTY!" Blaze landed in front of the bat.
"Okey, I am sorry about stealing from you!" Rouge said while rubbing the cheek Blaze had hit her on "I just couldn't help myself. I know I shouldn't ha- wait a dirty dancer? I have ordered anything!"
"Like we would believe you!" Amy said as she and Whisper surrounded Rouge.
"No, I am speaking the truth!" the bat defended herself "I may be a thief, but I am an honest one!"
That was something no one could deny.
"But if you haven't ordered the dancer, then who?" Blaze asked.
(Back at Blaze's room...)
Music was playing loudly as the "dancer" was dancing and the girls were watching.
Vanilla had a blush on her face, while covering Cream's eyes (much to the young bunny's displeasure).
Tangle was bleeding from the nose while taking pictures of the steamed scene.
Belle was utterly confused why were the girls reacting like this and why was the man dressed like a firefighter, since he clearly wasn't.
And in the center of attention were the dancer and the one who had ordered him- Jewel. The beatle was now rubbing her rear end against the man's crouch, clearly having fun.
(Shortly...)
After pushing Rouge into giving back the jewels, the four girls returned to the room with the vault, where Marine and the two guards were waiting for them.
''Why do ya even need a guard, Blaze?'' Marine asked her friend ''I mean, ya are so capable ya can single handedly guard this place, mate!''
''Thank you, but I already have enough responsibilities.'' the cat answered.
''So this is the thief, huh?'' the female guard eyed Rouge.
''Actually she helped us catch the thief.'' Blaze said, surprising everybody.
''WHAT?!?'' Amy, Whisper and Rouge all exclaimed in unison.
''If she wasn't at the garden, the pirate would have got away. Too bad we couldn't catch the him.''
Amy was about to argue, but when she saw Blaze's ''play alone'' eyes she shut her mouth.
"Well in that case thank you, miss Rouge." the male guard said, still a little uncertain about the bat's innocence.
"You are welcome!" Rouge said, acting as innocent as possible.
After putting the jewels back in place, the four girls left the room and headed back to Blaze's bedroom.
"So, why did you cover me?" Rouge asked Blaze.
"Yeah, Blaze, why did you do that?" Amy asked just as curious.
The princess turned to the treasure huntress "Because you are still my guest and friend. You've done good to me and my kingdom before so I will give you a pass here. But I am very disappointed in you, Rouge! Even though I expected it, I still got hurt."
At that moment Rouge felt something she hadn't felt in a long time- guilt. She was wondering why now of all times. Was it because of the good that Blaze showed her, or the fact that Blaze was showing how hurt she was, or was it the fact that Rouge ruined the princess' bachelorette party? The bat didn't know, but she knew one thing- she was feeling terrible now.
"I am so-" she started, but was interrupted by the cat.
"Save it! Just don't do it again!"
"Okey..." the bat said silently.
"One more thing: how did you know where the vault is?" Amy asked.
"The guards were a dead giveaway." Rouge answered "Opening the vault was no problem."
"Well, don't do it again!" Blaze said and then yawned "I think I should go to bed. It's a big day tomorrow."
"I am sorry your party failed, Blaze." Amy apologized, sad herself.
"It's okey, Amy," Blaze plased her hand on the hedgehog's shoulder "I still had fun. Goodnight!"
"Goodnight!" Amy said back.
With that the girl went their own ways. Blaze, Amy and Rouge headed toward their rooms, while Whisper headed outside and disappeared into the night.
Soon Blaze was back in her room. All the girls were gone. Cream had texted her that they had desided to go to bed. She had also texted that the party had been fun, though Blaze wasn't so sure.
"I hope Silver had more fun than me." she said to herself, as she started preparing herself for bed.
Just then a noise came from Blaze's wardrobe. The cat lit her first up and slowly opened the door...
...only to find Jewel and the "firefighter" in the middle of a make out session. The two immediately stopped when they saw Blaze.
"Oh uuumm hi..." Jewel said awkwardly as her face became red.
" 'sup!?" the dancer said as confident as ever.
"Get out!" Blaze ordered angrily. At least now she knew who had ordered the fox.
The two immediately left the room. Blaze finished with the preparations. The thought about the card Amy had shown her returned to Blaze's mind as she was trying to sleep. Happiness and danger.
"I hope Rouge was the danger! " Blaze said to herself. Little did she know, that the danger was far from gone...
