Makoto began tying the scientist to a chair with some clothes he found in his wardrobe.

"Don't tell me you set up this whole love thing just to throw me off guard." He said while being visibly nervous.

"Not our fault you fell for it. Also, Kirigiri bloodline is none of your concern." Kyoko told coldly.

The man sighed. "Whatever you want me to do, I can't do it. I'm not the highest rank but just a worker. If I do something wrong they'll kill me, like anyone who disobeys."

"So they're watching you." She assumed.

The four-eyes nodded.

"Alright then, you'll turn off the electricity for us. Make it look like an accident or not, it's up to you." Kirigiri ordered.

"Kiri t-that was not the plan. What's on your mind?" He whispered after walking away from their hostage.

"We don't know if he's telling the truth so I say we should play it safe." Kyoko explained silently.

"Well, what do you mean by that?" Naegi questioned.

"You'll see." She told and approached the robotic engineer. "One wrong move and we'll blow this place up, including you." Kirigiri looked at her friend and swung her head towards the scientist. Makoto understood what she meant and went to untie him.

"Act normal as if nothing happened." She commanded and hid the taser in her skirt.

The man came out first being followed by the two Ultimates. "This is it! The time has come, the moment of salvation for humanity! The Queen of despair reborn in her best form!" He announced.

"We defeated her twice and we'll do it again." Naegi told.

"For sure." The blue-haired chuckled. "You just don't know how different she is this time.. A lot different. Night and day different! More despair than ever awaits!"

"We get it." Kyoko said in annoyance.

"Great. Just let me check one thing so I know everything's working just like it should." He approached a three meters high supercomputer and pushed it aside to reveal an electric panel. "It'll take just a moment..."

"Take your time." Makoto crossed his arms.

The man began examining the electronics and after a while, he slowly disconnected a red cable. Then he ripped off its electrical plug and violently pushed it against Kyoko's chest, which made her shake uncontrollably.

Not even half a second passed and Naegi already grabbed and pulled away the scientist's arm with both his hands. Unfortunately the time Kirigiri was being electrocuted was enough to knock her out.

"L-LET- GO!-" The blue-haired was trying hard to escape Makoto's grip but couldn't achieve his goal. After a brief moment of struggling, he punched him in the face.

"AUGH!-" Naegi moaned and clearly felt the punch but didn't stop resisting.

"JUST- G-GIVE UP ALREADY-" The roboticist shouted while slowly gaining an advantage over the Ultimate Hope. "I R-REALLY DON'T WANT TO- H-HIT THAT PRETTY FACE AGAIN-" He threatened when the light in the room turned red and a loud alarm started playing.

"GO AHEAD!" Makoto challenged him with sarcasm and hit his belly using his knee.

That hit didn't seem to meaningly impact his enemy who only bent a little. In revenge, he was about to land a second punch but just before his fist reached Naegi's face he felt a strong pain taking over his body which was caused by Kyoko's taser. Because Makoto was touching him the electricity also went through his body and made them both collapse helplessly to the floor.

Like that that all three of them were lying on the floor for half a minute until the Ultimate Detective gathered her strength and sat up. Afterward, she moved towards the groaning four eyes and hit him on his neck with an open palm, making him pass out.

"Can you get up?" Kirigiri asked offering her hand.

"Y-yeah." He replied and hardly got up with his colleague's help.

"Back off." Kyoko requested and aimed her taser at the electric panel.

"This is definitely not safe.." Naegi thought and gulped while joining his friend at her side.

After a deep breath, she pulled the trigger. Two barbed electric wires flew out of the stun gun and hit the fuse box right in the middle. It started sparking and smoking, forcing the Ultimates to cover their eyes and cough because of the fumes.

A few seconds passed and the sparks stopped coming out of the electric panel. The room turned dark and the alarm sound stopped.

There was silence. The two friends started feeling their senses heightening as they couldn't see anything.

"We can't destroy Junko like this. The laser welders need power to work." Makoto pointed out.

"Change of plan. We're getting out of here." She decided and ran away.

"Kiri? W-wait for me!" Naegi shouted and tried to follow the sound of her steps.

"Stay here. I'm going to get us some light." Kirigiri told as she slowed down and began following the wall until she reached the scientist's apartment.

"Alright..." Makoto said and stood still. "How are we going to escape? The garage door is most likely the exit but I doubt it we can open it manually." He thought.

After a while, his friend came out of the room with her face and torso illuminated with a red light coming out of a crazy Junko acrylic night lamp.

"She has her merch?" Naegi questioned in surprise.

"No time to think about that now." She replied and headed towards the other side of the hall.

"Found a way to break free already?" Makoto asked.

"Yup. This vent." Kyoko answered after stepping on a silver workbench and enlightening an air conditioner. "We'll need a screwdriver."

"Hand it over to me." Naegi requested the lamp. After receiving it he luckily found screwdrivers in the first cabinet. "Try this one." He passed the items to his former classmate.

"Fits perfectly." Kirigiri told and started unscrewing the four screws. "It would be easier if you held the-"

"They're coming!" Makoto interrupted his friend when he saw the gateway being cut with a laser.

"Don't panic. How much time do we have?" She questioned.

"I- I don't know, a minute at best." Naegi replied and stepped on the worktable to hold the lamp.

Kyoko began to sweat as the silence got disturbed by the sound of the cutting device. With each screw, her hands started to shake more and more, despite her trying hard to control her rising stress. Fortunately, she managed to finish in time and handed the screws over to her colleague who put them in his pocket. Afterward, the Ultimates both grabbed the air conditioner and pulled it out of the vent, then put it on the workbench. Kirigiri got in first with her lamp and then helped her friend to enter the duct.

"We need to seal it." Kyoko said with her voice losing its usual calmness. "Pull it up, I'll hold you." She told and grabbed her former classmate by his ankles.

Makoto lowered down and hardly picked up the machine. Just when he got back to the vent and shut it up with the air conditioner he heard many people walking into the room.

"..So close." Naegi exhaled in relief.

"We need to get going." Kirigiri took the lead with her lamp and started crawling. Her friend began following her.

"..Sorry for not warning you before shooting but, he was about to punch you so-"

"It's fine, I'll get used to it eventually." He said jokingly with a smirk.

"Let's hope you won't have to." Kyoko replied with a small smile.

After a few turns, the Ultimates encountered a ventilator. "We'll have to get rid of this." She stated and lied on her back placing her head right under her friend's who looked away. "..You mind giving me some space?" Kirigiri asked.

"Oh r-right." Makoto chuckled nervously and backed off.

Kyoko then put her arms to the sides of the vent and started kicking the fan's metal framework using both her legs. After a few of her strong kicks, it finally fell off. She sat up and placed her hands on the edge of the shaft, then froze. "..Fuck."
