Chapter 3: Repeating Flashbacks
Location: Space Colony Ark, Earth's Orbit
Shadow and Maria were in a room, looking after Carrie. Neither Shadow or Maria had left Carrie for one second, fearing and being cautious that Carrie would have more flashbacks or visions of her dark and horrid past, as well as being careful of anything that could trigger them…
It was tragic enough for Shadow & Maria, ever since they were exploring parts of the world, ever since Maria & Gerald were resurrected/Reincarnated as Hedgehogs, by G.U.N., with the help of Shadow of course, and after secretly seeing and watching everything that Carrie had been through, Shadow and Maria decided to do the same for Carrie. Shadow & Maria were exploring different parts of the world, when one day, when they were in chamberlain themselves, they had witnessed a lot of incidents of bullying and torment towards Carrie. Seeing Carrie being treated this way by nearly everyone at school, was bad enough, but to see and learn of what her own mother was truly like, didn't settle well within Shadow and Maria… Maria was absolutely horrified, while Shadow had to restrain himself, from giving Margaret or any of the ultras, some true Chaos Punishment…
*Flashback to 2013*
Shadow and Maria were following Margaret White's car, after she picked Carrie up, after school, after hearing that Carrie had had a meltdown, from her first Period during Gym class, and none of her classmates helped, all they did was laugh and throw tampons at Carrie, as she cried and screamed, thinking she was dying, while Chris sadistically recorded the incident on her phone…
Margaret parked up the car, outside the White's bungalow, before going inside without Carrie, while Carrie stayed in the car for a few moments, unbeknown that Shadow and Maria were watching her… just as a young teen age boy appeared, before he began banging on the car window, while chanting 'Crazy Carrie' or 'Creepy Carrie' at Carrie, before riding off on his bike… before he was knocked over by an unknown force, right in front of Shadow & Maria… as he looked up at them, both with disappointed looks on their faces…
"I'd think twice before you choose to tease or bully someone, kid. Now get out of here!" Shadow said sternly, not meaning any harm, but enough to make the kid quickly get up, back on his bike, and ride away as fast as he could.
Shadow & Maria then noticed that Carrie had noticed them watching her, as well as dealing with the kid… after a few seconds, Carrie quickly got out of the car, and went inside the house, with a nervous look on her face, as Shadow and Maria watched, before following over to the house…
Shadow and Maria then looked through the windows, only to see Carrie and Margaret fighting, before Margaret shoved Carrie into the prayer closet, and locking her in, as Carrie cried and screamed to be let out…
As these horrible events occurred, Shadow was so horrified and angered from what they were witnessing, he wanted to break in, attack Margaret and free Carrie, but both he and Maria were trying to keep calm, knowing if Shadow attacked Margaret, and Carrie saw everything, she'd be even more frightened…
*Flashback ends*
Shadow and Maria continued to look and stroke Carrie's strawberry blonde hair and quills, as Carrie remained asleep, as they wanted to make sure Carrie was much better, now that she was their daughter now, and no longer the child of 2 religiously unstable humans, where the mother treated her like an unholy punch bag. What made the situation worse for Shadow and Maria, was that they couldn't alert or tell anyone of what was really going on inside the White's residence, as they couldn't capture any evidence, or just go and tell people of Margaret White's true colors, fearing this would upset Carrie even more, despite it being the right thing… But things just got even worse, when Shadow and Maria had witnessed what had happened during the prom…
*Flashback to Prom Night*
Shadow and Maria had sneaked into the school and were watching from above the gym hall. They'd also watched when Carrie had left her home, with Tommy, which made them somewhat happy, now that Carrie was trying to be more confident, and trying to interact with people, that her mother would forbid her, or try to convince her that they were all evil sinners… They also watched Carrie interact with Tommy's Friends: George Dawson & Erika Gogan, as well as Miss Desjardin, and even When Carrie & Tommy shared a slow dance together…
"This is so sweet to see and watch, I wish we could have done this together back on the Ark Shadow…" Maria said in aww…
"I agree Maria, but there's nothing stopping us from sharing a dance like that together, one day…" Shadow replied, in a similar tone, as Maria gave him a happy blushing look.
Once Carrie and Tommy finished dancing, and returned to their table with George & Erika, Shadow & Maria then noticed something odd… Tina Blake was letting in Chris and Billy inside, who were not wearing prom attires, as they sneaked around to stage, before disappearing behind it…
"Those two again, what are they up to?" Shadow said in a mixture of worry and slight aggression…
For some time, nothing happened… until Carrie and Tommy were called as King & Queen of the Prom… as everyone cheered for them, making their way to the stage, Maria was happy for Carrie, as well as Shadow was, but was still on alert… Maria then noticed Sue Snell, trying to make her way through the crowd, to the stage, only to be pushed out and locked out of the hall by Miss Desjardin, just as Carrie was doused in Cold Pig's Blood, which made Shadow and Maria realise, that Sue must have known about what Chris and Billy were doing there in the first place, and trying to warn or prevent them from causing what just happened… but failed to do so… To make matters worser and worser, Tina then replayed footage of Carrie's gym class meltdown, causing everyone to laugh at Carrie, which made Maria absolutely disgusted with everyone there, except poor Carrie, while Shadow was trying to keep himself under control, from doing something bad to all of them, especially in front of Maria…
But when they saw Miss Desjardin try to reach out to Carrie, she was pushed down by an unknown force, which Shadow & Maria remembered from before, when Carrie was being bullied by that kid on the bike the other day… Shadow & Maria then realized, that possibly, Carrie must have had some form of Telekinetic power source within her, which really shocked and surprised them both…
But then…
The bucket that poured the blood on Carrie, came loose… and fell… before hitting Carrie on the back of her head/Skull, as Carrie fell to the stage floor… fatally…
Maria gasped in Horror at the site… But Shadow… Shadow was absolutely horrified… in the moments as Carrie was falling to the floor, Shadow didn't just see Carrie dying… he also saw visions of when Maria was Human, and shot on the Ark, all those years ago… visions he thought he'd let go of, long ago…
"MARIA!" Shadow cried, as Tears streamed out of his eyes, which caused Maria to notice…
"Shadow? What's wrong?" Maria asked in worry and concern, as she turned to see Shadow drop to his knees in tears of sorrow and anger, before she tended to him… "Shadow, calm down, I'm here…"
After a few seconds, Shadow snapped back to his senses, as he and Maria looked again, only to see everyone inside the hall in shock and sorrow, as Miss Desjardin was holding and crying over Carrie, which confirmed the worst for Shadow & Maria… Carrie had been wrongfully killed…
As Maria cried for Carrie too, Shadow shed tears too, but deep down in Shadow, as well as feeling sorrow that Carrie was dead, he was also feeling vengeful, and determined to get payback on those who got Carrie killed… Especially Chris Hargensen & Billy Nolan…
(Later on...)
Shadow and Maria were still watching everything else that occurred that night, from Chris and Billy being arrested, to the paramedics placing Carrie's body into a body bag, and zipping it closed, as everyone else cried in sorrow and shame for what had happened… but as the ambulance began to drive off to the local morgue… Shadow & Maria used Chaos Control, and both teleported into the back of the ambulance, where the body bag containing Carrie's body was being stored, as they then grabbed the stretcher that the Body bag was on, before Shadow took out one of the Chaos Emeralds…
"Chaos Control!" Shadow & Maria called, as they teleported out of the ambulance, with Carrie's body bag, in a bright flash of light…
*Flashback Ends*
Since that night, after teleporting back to the Ark, with Carrie's Body bag, and explaining what had occurred, Shadow, Maria & Gerald got straight to work, recreate the experiments that G.U.N. had used to reincarnate Maria & Gerald, to do the same for Carrie…
Shadow and Maria agreed to use their Cells, DNA, & Biological other elements, to genetically alter Carrie's body, which also meant, that she would now be their daughter, and as result, Carrie's body was genetically changed overtime, from human, to Hedgehog… before finally using the power of all the Chaos Emeralds, to breathe new life into Carrie's newly altered body.
Shadow and Maria were both worried about how they would be as a growing family… especially Shadow, but Gerald assured them, despite all they had gone through, in Life & Death, there could be no one else better, who could raise Carrie in a much nicer way, after her terrible human life… They also were worried that Carrie could suffer from amnesia, as she had died, and now been reborn… But now that that was confirmed, Shadow, Maria, and Gerald, were all also concerned and worried, for if or when Carrie's human memories would return, and if she would go looking for her past… Even they didn't want Carrie to remember, not that they would anyway, there was no way could stop her from doing so…
