The next morning, Vaggie awoke on the cool bathtub floor. She carefully raised from her towel and tried to plan her escape.

After quickly and quietly using the bathroom, Vaggie opened the door to check out her surroundings.

Alastor was still there, sleeping in his bed with that same creepy smile on his face.

Vaggie couldn't believe her luck. This was her chance.

Vaggie took a deep breath and began tiptoeing her way across the room. Vaggie controlled her breathing, not even daring to breathe too loudly for fear that Alastor would be awakened.

Vaggie reached the door and carefully and slowly twisted the knob open.

After getting the door open, Vaggie looked back at Alastor.

The ever-feared overlord was still asleep on the bed and hadn't made any inclination of hearing Vaggie. It was almost too good to be true.

Vaggie smiled as she left the room and shut the door behind her. This is her chance to escape! She quickly made her way down the hall until she found the main stairway.

When she found the stairs, Vaggie ran down them until she found the front door, but when she opened it...

"Oh Vaggie! I'm so happy that you're awake already!" Alastor's voice rang out practically out of nowhere.

Vaggie looked behind her and in front of her to see where he came from, but then she remembered something.

Next to the door on a table Vaggie saw a damned hand radio. In her anger, Vaggie grabbed it and chucked it onto the driveway as she ran out the door.

Unfortunately, her chance at making a run for it was futile. When Vaggie tried to make for the front gate, it shut as though being telekinetically controlled.

In her desperation, Vaggie hopped onto the gate and tried to climb over it, but black tentacles wrapped around her wrists and ankles and pulled her back down to the ground, dropping her in Alastor's waiting arms.

"Darling, you shouldn't be climbing up there. You could hurt yourself," Alastor said as he nuzzled her. "What are you thinking? The wedding is today!"

Instead of answering, Vaggie punched and beat at his chest, swearing loudly in Spanish.

Just then, Vaggie heard Rosie calling from the other side of the gate. Rosie was wearing an Edwardian era formal dress accompanied by her penguin minions who were wearing formal wear as well.

"Hello, Alastor! Are you two awake already?" Rosie asks as she opened the front gate letting herself and her handful of her minions in.

Alastor grabbed on to Vaggie and said, "Yes, Rosie, we are both awake."

Rosie flashed a playful smile and said, "Alastor, don't you know it's bad luck to see the bride before the wedding?"

"Oh, don't worry, Rosie," said Alastor, staring lovingly at Vaggie. "You know this wedding isn't exactly traditional."

Rosie clapped her hands together and said, "Marvelous! Give me Vaggie so that I can get her ready. The sooner we prepare, the sooner we can begin the ceremony."

Rosie's penguins chirped in agreement.

"Of course, Rosie," Alastor said, shoving the still struggling Vaggie over to her.

Rosie latched onto Vaggie's wrist, gestured to her car, and said, "Come on, dear. Your carriage awaits."

Vaggie thrashed harder to escape and yelled, "No!"

Rosie ignored all Vaggie's thrashings, pulled her into the car, and locked the doors so that she couldn't escape.

Rosie hopped into the car, rolled down the window on the driver's side, and said, "I'll take her to the temple and call you when she's done being prepared, Alastor."

Alastor just smiled and said, "Thank you so much Rosie! Oh, and don't forget what we discussed for the ceremony."

"No problem, I'll do everything I can to make your day perfect," Rosie said cheerfully.

Thump!

Just then, they heard Vaggie kicking on the window to break it and turned around to catch her in the act.

Rosie made an unamused smile while shaking her head and saying, "Now Vaggie, that's no way for a bride to behave."

Rosie snapped her fingers and caused ribbons to wrap around Vaggie's arm, pinning them against her side.

Vaggie continued thrashing in a desperate attempt to escape her bonds.

"I'll see you at the temple, Alastor!" Rosie called out as she drove away in her car.

And with that, Rosie drove away.

The ribbons held Vaggie tight as Rosie snapped her fingers, telekinetically buckling Vaggie securely to the seat.

Vaggie looked out the window fearfully and angrily glaring at the landscape next to her.

The car ride took a while and Vaggie prayed it would last even longer so that she could figure out a way to escape.

As they approached Pentagram City, Vaggie began to see paparazzi outside waiting for them and people celebrating in the streets.

The closer and closer the car got to the temple the stronger and stronger that her glare grew as the cameras flashed in her face.

The flashes continued as the car finally pulled up to the auditorium where the temple was.

Vaggie strained at her ribbons and began her struggle again.

Rosie snapped her fingers causing the ribbons to unravel instantly before she climbed out of the car and walked over to Vaggie's side.

Vaggie was freed, but she could not force the door open no matter how hard she tried.

The paparazzi closed in around the car to take pictures. Vaggie instantly recognized Katie Killjoy waving and trying to get her attention. She remembered how the news reporter made fun of Charlie and called her a failure. Vaggie snarled and audibly growled upon seeing her.

Out of the corner of her eye, Rosie exited the vehicle and walked around Vaggie's side, snapping her fingers and causing the ribbons to unravel as she did so.

Rosie walked up to Katie Killjoy and said, "Hello there, Ms. Killjoy! Thanks for coming to see us today!"

Katie Killjoy looked at Vaggie and back at Rosie and asked, "May we have a word with the bride?"

Killjoy tried to walk to the window, but a penguin butler came between her and the window and cawed in her face.

"I'd rather not," Rosie said. "Vaggie here hasn't even brushed her teeth yet. She doesn't look presentable enough to talk to reporters right now."

"We don't mind," Killjoy said, trying to squeeze around Rosie and the penguin.

"I'm dreadfully sorry, Ms. Killjoy, but Alastor's bride isn't ready to speak to anyone right now because we need to prepare Vaggie for the wedding," Rosie explained. "The sooner we get the bride prepared, the sooner that we can start the party after all."

Rosie then opened the door to Vaggie's side of the car and finished, "But please, feel free to stay for the festivities. There is plenty of room for everyone."

Vaggie hopped out of the car and followed Rosie disinterestedly for a few moments until finally she found her opportunity.

Then, Vaggie broke away from Rosie, ran to Katie Killjoy, and decked her in the nose.

"That's for attacking my girlfriend, you massive bitch!" Vaggie snarled.

Katie Killjoy growled as her demonic arachnid form appeared.

The crowd of paparazzi cowered in fear and began backing away while taking pictures. Tom Trench included.

Vaggie rushed for Killjoy and began to run towards her, but she felt herself being held back and dragged back to the door by Rosie's penguins.

"That's enough, Vaggie! I apologize Ms. Killjoy! Please excuse our bride. Today is a big day for her and she is quite tense." Rosie said as she pulls her inside the building.

Tom Trench sighed and said, "Awww, we were gonna have another cat fight to film."

Katie Killjoy clenched her fists and said, "Let me give that bitch a piece of this!"

Rosie opened her umbrella and summoned more of her penguin familiars.

The penguin familiars banned together and pushed the two quarreling women apart.

Rosie then pointed her umbrella at Katie's face and said "Ms. Killjoy, you need to calm down or I'm going to need to have my familiars escort you away. Do you want that?"

Vaggie smirked. For once, she and Rosie could agree on something.

"I bet you'd hate for your reputation to go down the gutter for this," Rosie said. "And I bet you'd hate losing the exclusive for this even more? Wouldn't you?"

Katie Killjoy reluctantly reverted back to her original form and clenched her teeth angrily.

Rosie nodded and said, "Very good. I'll call you in once the bride is prepared."

Rosie took Vaggie's hand and began to drag her into the building.

Vaggie continued to thrash and yelled, "Let go of me!" as she was dragged inside.

Rosie maintained her grip and dragged Vaggie inside.

Vaggie could hear Katie Killjoy chuckle as she turned back to the camera and said, "It looks like this bride is unwilling…"

Vaggie couldn't hear the rest of what Killjoy said as she and Rosie entered the large auditorium.

They stopped for a moment as she beheld the large temple in the center.

Rosie took hold of Vaggie again and said, "Let's get to the bathroom and dressing room."

Vaggie continued unwillingly following behind Rosie, but she couldn't take her eyes off the Aztec Temple that looked like it was taken straight from home.

Soon enough, the ladies got to the dressing room.

"Alright, Vaggie," Rosie said. "You get to the bathroom and brush your teeth. Brush your hair, wash your face, and put on deodorant, too. Be quick about it so that we can get ready."

Seeing no way out, Vaggie entered the bathroom and did all Rosie asked, feeling helpless all the while. She could hardly keep the tears washed out of her eyes.

There really was nothing she could do. She was going to be Alastor's wife, and there was nothing she could do to stop it.

Despite how long she tried to draw it out, Vaggie eventually had to leave the bathroom, so reluctantly, she opened the door and stepped out.

"Oh, there you are," Rosie said in her sickly-sweet voice as she gestured to the mannequin. "Time to get dressed."

The wedding gown and veil were dressed on the mannequin while the shoes were sitting on a small table next to it.

The outfit was beautiful, but the occasion was so tragic. Vaggie couldn't help but shed tears.

Rosie then snapped her fingers, summoned her penguin familiars, and said, "Alright, Vaggie. Let's make you beautiful!"

Vaggie shed some more tears and wished Charlie would come to save her.
