Chapter 2: Colony Life
Osrelios was sleeping in his bed, at his house when sunlight flooded in, causing him to wake up.
He lived in the back parts of the residential district of Colony 9. He insisted that he would have a house of his own, and not have to share a house with Dickson or Dunban, not that he had a problem with either of them, rather he just wanted his own space.
Oz got up, and proceeded to get ready for the day. Once he was ready, he stepped outside only to have a nagging feeling.
He sighed. "Shulk's gotten into trouble."
He took off in the direction of the scrapyard, where Shulk would most likely be. On his way he spotted Shulk's best friend, Reyn.
"Hey Reyn!" He shouts, getting his attention. "I got a feeling Shulk's gotten into trouble again, wanna help?"
Reyn grinned. "Sure! Beats getting bossed around by ol' Square-Tache. Let's go!" Reyn grabbed his driver(Osrelios was still confused why it's called that, considering what he knows drivers to be), and ran over to Oz. Once he got to him, the two picked up the pace to the scrapyard.
Once the two got to the scrapyard, they saw that Shulk had disturbed a krabble that was using Mechon plating as a shell.
Reyn took the lead and tackled the krabble away.
Osrelios caught up, and took a battle stance in front of Shulk. "Need some help 'little brother'?"
Shulk just sighed. "That joke got old years ago."
Shulk and Osrelios have an interesting relationship. The two are really close friends, and tend to act like brothers, which got almost the whole Colony to joke that they are, with Osrelios being the 'older brother' despite being an inch shorter than Shulk. Osrelios was more responsible than him after all.
Osrelios hasn't changed physically due to his nature as a blade, but he did have an older physical appearance when he was first taken back to Colony 9.
The krabble started to attack, Osrelios summoned his sword and blocked the attack.
Shulk pulled out his Junk Sword, and used Air Slash to break the krabble's guard. This allowed Reyn to topple it.
Osrelios got ready to finish it off. "Electro bolt." Oz fired off an electrical attack frying the krabble to a crisp, leaving only the Mechon plating.*
He took a look at the plating. "Y'know Shulk... you could probably use this to build a sword. The metal this plating is made out of could be strong enough to damage the Mechon."
"You think so?" Shulk replied.
"Oz is right, it would be a cool idea for there to be more anti-Mechon weapons than just the Monado." Reyn pitched in.
"Well then, let's get this back to my lab." Shulk stated.
Osrelios then grabbed his shoulder. "Your not out of trouble yet. First, why do you keep going off on your own? You are a trouble magnet, at least get Reyn or Fiora to go with you next time. Second, I will not let you stay in your lab the entire day, you barely get enough sun as it is. Stubborn shut-in."
"Wha-!? I'm not a shut-in. Reyn help me out here!"
"Sorry Shulk, but I agree with Oz."
Shulk had a face of pure betrayal, causing Oz and Reyn to burst out laughing.
"All jokes aside. I'll take this plating over to your lab for you. Make sure to tell Dickson about the anti-Mechon weapon idea." Osrelios said while picking up the plating with one hand and carrying it.
"Sometimes I forget your not a Homs." Reyn commented, referring to the in-Homs strength Osrelios has.*
The three made their way back to the Colony, talking about how having more than just Osrelios and the Monado to fight the Mechon could be very useful, allowing more people to be able to fight.
Reyn breaks off from the group to rejoin training, while Oz and Shulk head over to the lab.
Osrelios dropped off the Mechon plating and left to go to visit Fiora and Dunban.
He made his way over to their house and knocked on the door.
Moments later, Fiora opened the door. "Oh, hello Oz. Are you here to check up on Dunban?"
"Yeah. I got some pain killers for him, and figured that I could help you with him a little. By the way, Shulk should be taking a break soon, maybe you could go visit him. He should be at Outlook park."
"Shulk's taking a break, since when?"
Osrelios chuckled. "I had to convince him. And when I say convince him, I mean threaten to lock the Monado away in my house if he didn't."
Fiora giggled. "Alright, I'll pay him a visit, maybe with some food. You can go ahead and talk to Dunban."
As Fiora moves from the doorway, Oz made one last comment. "You gonna confess to him yet?"
Fiora froze, facing going beet red. "Oz!"
Osrelios laughed and dashed upstairs before Fiora could do anything.
Once he got upstairs he went to Dunban's room, he went in and Dunban turned to see him. "Oz! Great to see you!"
"Hello friend. I got those pain killers you asked for, although they weren't cheap."
"Thank you. I do gotta ask, do you think I could still wield the Monado with one hand?"
Osrelios paused in thought for a moment. "I suppose you could, although it seems impractical considering the size of the weapon."
Dunban looked down. "Oh."
"However..."
Dunban looked back up.
"Shulk, Reyn and I recently obtained some Mechon plating. It's possible that the metal could be used to forge a weapon capable of damaging the Mechon. It could be made into a sword that you could use with your one hand."
"That sound amazing Oz, but then what about the Monado? Only you and I can use it."
"We would still need it for the Enchant Art. Otherwise, it could be a back up."
The two spent some time chatting, talking while Osrelios helped Dunban with things he needed, and even gave him tips of how to fight with one hand.
As sunset was getting closer the two heroes heard something they hoped they would never have to hear. The Mechon Siren sounded.
Dunban's eyes widened in recognition. "The Mechon are here!"
Osrelios had a determined look. "Get to the Lab, I'll hold them off until you get the Monado!"
"Right let's go!"
The two friends took off, Dunban heading towards the military district to get the Monado while Osrelios summoned his sword and ran towards the closest group of Mechon he could find.

1: Jin stated to have control over the elementary particles, which means he could use multiple elements, not just ice, despite that being his strongest element.
