To all you lovely readers out there welcome to chapter 8! Now we dove into the episode where we are first introduced to a certain punk, with Ben being a little more mature how will things pan out this time? And how will ol' Kev and Altera interact? Find out in this new chapter!

So I want to address something, I personally don't want to cover to much of the overall Ben 10 multiverse out of complications, I will cover the Ben 10000 episode for sure, I will do one of the movies Secrets of the Omnitrix, but other movies No since the live action or computer generated is off putting to me in my opinion, I like to stick to animation, so I will mostly stick to the prime universe and the future timeline, I consider those the only canon in my head personally, it's like how I feel with Carnival Phantasm not being canon to the Nasuverse in my opinion, I want to keep the world I'm building as I work on this and other fics to be more enclosed. I hope those of you who ask will not mind. Now for the reviews!

5had0wHand: She's starting to enjoy herself and Ben's influence is partially at play for it, as far as interacting with Kevin, we'll see what goes.

Milo S Darek: glad you like my work so much! Just so you know the Ben 10 universe is not combined with the Nasuverse in this story, but more Nasu characters, mostly of alien varieties will appear later. You do make interesting concepts though, and I actually remember reading Ultimate Master! It sucks it's not being continued but you surprise me by calling this Story a Great Successor!

Shogun lord poke burst: the Omnitrix was set for the wielder to use 10 aliens first until they mature, Ben will use the new form soon enough.

Xina0451: more Nasu will appear, just hold out because I'm not gonna introduce more till Alien Force, I might introduce one in this part of the story sometime but not more till then, but if you don't want to wait that's fine, I'm not forcing or blaming.

Chapter 8: Number 11

The Tennysons and Altera arrived in New York City and Max was in the midst of booking a hotel. Gwen was looking at the brochure with great interest.

"Indoor pool, full day spa…"

"Now don't get used to it, it's only for one night." Max said.

Ben was looking bored as he yawned, Altera was standing next to him simply scanning the room with nothing better to do, soon enough Ben's eyes landed on a entrance to a Sumo Slammer's showing.

"Hoho! The new Sumo Slammer's video game is in there!"

He was halted by the hand of the security person.

"Pass?"

Ben checks his pockets as Altera Walked up to him.

"I must have left it inside, I'm one of the pros testing out the system."

Altera shook her head in amusement.

"VIP's only."

Ben sulked as Altera patted his back.

"I know what you're thinking, so no sneaking back in there." Max said firmly.

"I won't…"

Ben looked over at Altera and gave a small smile.

"I won't."

Altera reciprocated her own smile at Ben for considering her view on it.

The group then went up to their room after receiving the key. The room was on the third floor, it was well furnished, three beds, a desk, a flat screen and a clean bathroom.

"Oh yeah! I'm gonna take a real shower for the first time this summer!" Gwen said excitedly.

"Hey Grandpa? I'm gonna check out the nearby arcade." Ben said.

"Alright Ben but don't be out for too long ok."

"Sweet! You want to come with Altera?"

Altera shrugged but nodded with a small smile as the two went off on their outing. Total Zone. That was the name of the Arcade Ben and Altera hit up, all sorts of games everywhere with a sign saying play at your own risk. Altera eyed a Dance Dance Revolution game and decided to give it a shot.

Ben at the meantime was playing a baseball arcade game, he was gearing up to start but right as the game began it ended right before he was even ready.

"Game over? The game hasn't even started! Hey this game ate my token!" Ben complained to a teenage employee.

"Read the sign kid, play at your own risk." The teen chided and walked off.

"This place is a rip off, you know that?"

"You're right. The games here stink." Called the voice of a boy behind Ben.

The boy looked about a year older then Ben wearing all black with matching colored long hair to match going to his shoulders, he had a necklace with a lock attached.

"Yeah, but not as bad as his breath, major case of sewer mouth."

"Hahaha! You're funny. Here, you owe me one." The boy said as he put his hand to the machine next to him and electricity shot from it, multiple tokens came out as a result.

"Whoa how did you do that?" Ben said amazed.

"I got some skills." The boy bragged.

"Thanks, I'm Ben."

"Kevin."

"Hey, want to play air hockey?" Ben asked.

Kevin looked over Ben's shoulder and saw to thug looking boys approaching.

"Nah, I got to bail." Kevin said as he left.

"That guys cool." Ben said but was shoved aside by the thugs.

Altera was in the middle of dancing away, she was killing it with every movement and even improvised here and there, she ended up attracting a crowed as many game goers cheered her on, many of the boys asking for her number. Once she finished she turned to her audience and took a humble bow as they cheered. Upon looking up she was met with a distasteful sight of a boy getting harassed by four bullies.

"Where are you going freak! Home to recharge your batteries?" The bully with the blue mohawk mocked.

Kevin backed up only to be grabbed by the two behind him. It was then that Ben stepped up.

"Need some help?"

"He's gonna need more then just-"

WHAM!!!

The bully didn't get the chance to finish when Altera ran up and punched him away. The others were shocked and let Kevin go by shoving him to the ground, they lunged at her but she ducked each of their attacks and grabbed the arm of the bigger thug before twisting it hard making him yell before sending him into a punch from his buddy that was meant for her. She then took the one she was handling and in a display of her strength picked him up over her head and slammed him down making him pass the out. The fourth one the tried to sneak attack her took a back kick to the crotch making the two boys nearby wince and hold their nether regions.

"Man Altera that was awesome!" Ben said.

"Ganging up on a single person like that, it's sickening."

Altera then walked up to Kevin who was still sitting on the floor in shock as Altera lent him her hand.

"You alright?"

Kevin got a good look at the girl who helped him and immediately became enamored by Altera. He regained his composure and took her hand to get up.

"Wow, that was cool." Kevin said.

"It was nothing. Ben, I'm gonna go back to the hotel, make sure you come back soon." Altera said as she walked off.

Kevin only stared at the retreating form of the white hair red eyed beauty before he turned to Ben.

"Hey, what did you say that girl's name was?" Kevin asked.

"Her name is Altera, and she's really cool." Ben said.

"Is she your girlfriend?"

"Wha-!? No I mean, wait we're just friends!" Ben stammered.

"So she's single?"

"What do you care?"

"Just curious. By the way, that's an interesting watch you got there."

"Oh this, yeah it is, it can let me transform into any butt kicking alien I want!"

"You're lying." Kevin said skeptical.

"Oh yeah."

Ben went behind one of the machines and activated the Omnitrix, turning into XLR8 in the process who sped around Kevin to make a point. "Am I lying now? I got to go, don't want to attract too much attention. Oh and keep this a secret!"

"Sure. Hey don't go so soon speedster, let's hangout, tour New York." Kevin offered.

"I shouldn't be out so long."

"Ah what's a bit more time out gonna do?"

"Hm, good point."

The two began to take a walk down the sidewalk and talked.

"So how did you get your powers?"

"I was born with it. I'm like an energy sponge, motors, air conditioners, lights, batteries, whatever. Soak it up then dish it out if I have to, or want to."

"Cool." Ben said.

"Come on. I'll show you where I live."

And with that the two acquaintances sped off.

Back at the hotel Altera was starting to get worried, Ben should have been back by now. Gwen and Max were wondering the same.

"Ben should be back by now." Max said.

"He's probably out doing something doofus like." Gwen said.

"If it's ok with you guys, I'm gonna go out and look for him." Altera said.

"Alright, we trust you too come back safe with him." Max said.

Altera nodded and went on her way.

In an old subway system, Kevin and Ben were walking when they came to a platform that held an assortment of junk from a bunch of old TV's to a Sumo Slammers poster on the wall.

"Whoah you live here?"

"Yep. All by myself."

"What about your family?"

"Long gone, my parents weren't to thrilled about having a freak for a son. So now that means I don't answer to anyone."

"Wow, so why were those guys after you?"

"I kinda trashed their hangout under the 39th street bridge. What about you? I'm curious how you ran into such a hottie."

Ben rose an eyebrow at that statement before it clicked.

"You mean Altera? I met her some time ago at Yosemite National Park. She fell from space."

"You're kidding so she's some kind of alien chick?" Kevin asked amazed.

"Yeah, why are you so curious about her?"

"Don't worry about it."

Though skeptical Ben shrugged and looked over at the poster.

"You like Sumo Slammers?"

"Yeah, you a fan to?"

"They had the demo for the new one at the hotel we are at but I couldn't get in to play it."

"The one that won't be out until Christmas?"

"Yeah."

A smirk came to Kevin's face.

Night rolled around and Kevin and Ben were running by a warehouse.

"I got a tip a new shipment came in."

Kevin then put his hand to the door keypad and sent an electric shock through it destroying it.

"Help me kick in the door."

Once they did they unknowingly tripped an alarm. They came up to a crate that Kevin opened up to reveal the new Sumo Slammers game inside.

"Check it out! Wait's over dude." Kevin said as he tossed a copy to Ben.

"Yes!"

Suddenly the windows were busted by gas canisters as authorities were outside surrounding them. The sound of helicopters overhead were a big indication. Search lights were shining through as Ben looked on with a scared expression.

"What do we do!?"

"We run!"

The two boys bolted for it, as gas was filling the building, a spotlight shined on them and they bolted to another direction, Kevin went up to an electrical socket and began to absorb electricity.

The door was kicked open as SWAT barged in assault rifles in hand.

"Freeze punks!"

Kevin went to a forklift now charged with power.

"Time to rev things up."

Powering the forklift Kevin sent it rolling into the SWAT member and who fired his gun but got ran into as the young delinquent jumped out of the heavy machinery sending the man into a pile of boxes and materials.

"Let's go!"

The boys ran outside only to be cut from all sides from two cop cars and a hilo, they ended up running back inside.

"Great, no way out."

"Any ideas?" Kevin asked.

"Only one."

More police were closing in as Ben fiddled with the Omnitrix turning into Stinkfly in the process.

"Ah you wreak!"

"I know."

Stinkfly with Kevin in tow flew through the door knocking some of the police over, helicopters in pursuit as they flew across the water.

"Oh yeah, and people call me a freak! How are you doing that?"

"Part creator." Stinkfly said as the police fired their assault rifles on them.

They flew all the way to the Statue of Liberty the bug alien latched under one of the helicopters.

"Where'd they go!?" One of the pilots asked.

"I'm running out of time, I'll loose them in the city."

Stinkfly got off the helicopter and one of the gunners spotted them as he proceeded to fire.

Flying through the city, Stinkfly and Kevin flew close to traffic but were still being pursued.

"Uh oh."

Stinkfly went in front of a red bud shocking people inside as Kevin looked on with a big smile, they accidentally caused said bud to swerve into a hotdog stand.

They continue the chase as the Rustbucket was seen below, likely out looking for Ben. Flying into Town Square Stinkfly and Kevin were caught on screen while Kevin did a peace sign. The police continued to open fire on them all the same.

"Can't shake them!"

They saw a highway below.

"I got an idea."

Stinkfly flew over the traffic and hovers into a tunnel the helicopters couldn't fly through, so they would go and intercept on the other side.

"Where'd that thing go?"

On a flatbed holding cars was Ben in human form again hiding in the top most car, Kevin peaked up not too long after.

"Yeah!"

They ran to an alley an were out of breath, but they lost the cops.

"Man how many of these aliens can you turn into?"

"So far only ten."

"Really, show another." Kevin said eagerly.

"I can't, it has a mind of its own."

"Let me see, maybe I can make it work."

"I can't, it's stuck to my wrist."

Kevin then thought for a moment, an idea came to his head.

"We should be partners. Between the two of us, with our powers, we could do whatever we want, whenever we want! We could totally cash in. What do ya say? Friends?"

Ben looked at Kevin's hand and took it.

"Friends."

"Ben?"

Both boys looked over to none other than Altera, and she had a completely neutral look on her face.

"Altera? H-Hey, I meant to be back but I got caught up having a lot of fun with my new friend."

"By fun you mean committing criminal acts, and you said you wanted to be a hero?"

Words began to get stuck in Ben's throat as the gravity of everything he had done began to set in.

"Are you….mad?"

Altera shook her head, her expression unchanging.

"Not mad Ben, just really…really, disappointed."

Ben began to feel the wait of guilt, being mad was one thing but this bit worse.

"Hey what's your deal sweetheart it's us against the world, and you can join along too if you want." Kevin offered as he put his arm around her shoulders in a flirty manner.

Altera grabbed his wrist and jerked it just enough to for it to sting.

"Ow ease up will you!"

"I'm nobody's sweetheart, especially to such a bad influence, Ben you stay away from this delinquent, you grandfather can have a chat with you about everything, he's not happy about the stunts you pulled, he heard it all over the radio."

Hanging his head, Ben resigned himself to his fate. Suddenly Altera felt a jolt as Kevin attempted to absorb her energy, it caused adverse affects though as Altera had tons of it, a sort of overload.

"Ahh!!"

"What the heck happened!?" Ben asked.

"So he can absorb energy? Fool! You have know idea what you came in contact with!"

Kevin backed away feeling his head as he recovered but was breathing heavily.

"Ben, come on buddy! There won't have to be any trouble, just partner with me and we won't have to worry about anything."

"Ben don't listen to him, you know better! I know!" Altera pleaded.

Ben was now hesitant, he was really scared to own up to his actions, and strayed from the path he wanted. What could he do now?

Making a hasty decision he nodded towards Kevin who smirked as the two ran off.

"Ben no!"

Altera was gonna go after them but she suddenly passed out. The energy absorption that happened affected her as she collapsed to the ground.

"Ben." Altera gasped as things went black.

Back in the Rustbucket Max was fuming.

"Of all the things Ben could get into! And I thought with Altera's influence he wouldn't fall to such things."

"I know I should be saying something on this but I just can't seem to, I hope Altera found him already." Gwen said with a sad look.

Kevin and Ben were running through an underground rail system, and they came upon a switch zone.

"Check it out! Give me a boost, I need to recharge."

Ben glumly helped boost Kevin up and he proceeded to absorb electricity. He then went over to one of the switches and made the tracks switch positions.

"What are you doing?"

"A money train loaded with cash runs through this track, so when it crashes into the oncoming passenger train BOOM instant jackpot! You turn into that XLR8 guy and we get the heck out of here!"

"No."

"What do you mean no?"

"I said NO! It's bad enough I actually committed theft with you just for a simple video game! I'm not commit mass murder and destruction just for cash!"

"No pain no gain, we shook, we're partners, us against the world. And besides I just switched the tracks."

"I won't let you do this!"

"Then stop me! Watch boy."

"You don't care about anyone but yourself, at least I have people who are supposed to rely on me just as much as I do them! And I'm gonna do whatever it takes to make up for the stunt I helped you pull earlier no matter how long it takes or what I have to do!"

Ben went up to Kevin only to be grabbed and flung against the edge of the platform.

"Oho you do not want to make me mad." Kevin said as his hands sparked. He was then hit with a searing headache.

"Ah!"

"What's up with you?" Ben said.

"Ah! The energy I absorbed from your alien girlfriend did something to me!"

Shaking it off he got ready for a fight.

Ben got up and dialed the Omnitrix.

"Time to go Four Arms!"

He ended up turning into Heatblast instead.

"Uh, stupid watch. Move back."

"Or what? You're gonna burn my dinner?"

"Fight me and you're the one that will be burned."

Kevin went to the fuse box and absorbed more energy. Lights cracking all around leaving Heatblast as the only source of light, and Kevin was nowhere in sight.

"Ben!"

Turning around to hear a gasped voice Heatblast saw a wobbly Altera making her way over to him.

"Altera? You followed us!?"

"I may be weak but I couldn't just leave you alone."

"Get out of here! Kevin is around somewhere!"

The aforementioned snuck up on Heatblast and latched onto him, in a brief struggle, a flash of electricity shocked Kevin knocking him off. Heatblast was gonna check if he was ok but was blasted with fire.

Kevin was upright partially looking like a Pyronite from his head to his right arm.

"Psyche! I absorb energy remember?"

The sound of horns from oncoming trains was heard as the tracks were still switched.

"Altera! The tracks are switched, the trains will crash!"

Nodding despite her current state Altera mustered as much energy as she could to try and pull the switch. Kevin was going to stop her when Heatblast interrupted him.

Upon switching the tracks the trains avoided collision, Ben and Altera were nowhere in sight.

"Forget the cash, time for some priceless revenge."

On one of the trains, Heatblast and Altera were hanging onto the roof, but with the speed they were sent tumbling till they caught a grip once more. Heatblast improvised by burning holes into the roof for him and his companion to grab onto as the train sped along.

"And expect delays on the uptown subway lines near 51st street, there have been reports of fires breaking out all over the tunnels." Spoke the radio broadcast.

"Grandpa?"

"I know."

Max sped the Rustbucket around to speed over to the location of interest.

Around that time Ben and Altera were still hanging onto the train as the Omnitrix began to time out.

"Ah man, I hate that sound!" Ben said as he was reverted to human.

"Hang on Ben!" Altera shouted.

In that moment the Rustbucket was moving right along side the track line, Max unveiled the awning to act as a landing spot, but then noticed one of the overhead beams, low enough for Ben and Altera to smack into. He drove under the track bridge and was on the other side with the awning now available to jump onto, he honked the horn as Gwen signals them over.

The two of them clasped hands and leapt down till they were landed safely.

"Nice catch Grandpa!" Gwen praised.

They were all back safe in the hotel room, and Max was having a talk with Ben.

"What got into you Ben? All of a sudden you run around pulling theft like a miscreant."

"What I did was wrong…I know, it was stupid of me to get caught up in that and I'll do whatever it takes to make up for actions." Ben said.

Max's expression softened a bit as he saw his grandson was truly regretful of his decision.

"Ben, understand that I need you to trust you to do the right thing, and you showed it by not sneaking into that game studio, that says something, but now you need to understand that you have to be careful what you undertake, as it can cost you in the long run." Altera said as she put a hand to her shoulder.

"I know, and if we're talking about trust then I need you to trust me when I say Kevin is probably misusing Heatblast's power right now."

"He's right Grandpa, there's no telling what he might do." Gwen said.

"Alright, but where is he?"

"I think I know." Ben said.

Under the 39th street bridge the thugs from the arcade were having their place lit up.

"Hold on Kevin. Let's talk about this!"

"I don't think so." Kevin said and he was assaulted by another searing headache.

"Ah! What's going on with me!?"

The Rustbucket was caught in heavy New York traffic, Max was frustrated and honking his horn.

"Move it!"

"Going Stinkfly! See you guys at the 39th street bridge.

Slamming on the Omnitrix Ben transformed but as usual didn't get the form he wanted.

"Great, now I turn into Four Arms." He grumbled.

Altera giggled a bit as she watched Ben step out of the RV accidentally knocking a few cars away, she then hopped onto his shoulder as he leapt from car to car.

Back at the burning hangout, the thugs were pinned under a big pipe as Kevin stood over them.

"Hahaha! So much for your hangout now."

His victory was short lived as his Pyronite powers vanished.

"What? What happened?"

"Your power's gone."

Four Arms with Altera in tow landed a bit behind him.

"Looks like you're about to give me some more Ben."

"No!"

"You don't have a choice, I still have enough juice to fry these guys."

"Kevin don't do this, you need to weary of overusing your powers now." Altera warned.

"Nice of you to show up hot stuff, but what is there to be worried about?"

"I can't say, but I'm surprised it hasn't destroyed you yet."

That got Kevin's attention.

"What do you mean?"

"The kind of power you absorbed from me is dangerous. Who knows what will become of you if you let it loose."

"So ultimate power huh, I like it! And since it came from you you're the one that's gonna show me how to unleash it!"

"Oh no you don't!"

Four arms ran up and grabbed Kevin despite Altera's protest, in doing so it gave Kevin the chance to absorb the power of a Tetramand and use the new strength to knock him away.

"You're gonna have to take this one Ben! I can't afford to let Kevin absorb more energy from me, in the meantime I'll get these lowlifes out of here!"

"Hahaha! This is gonna be real fun!" Kevin said cracking his knuckles.

"Tell me about it." Four Arms responded.

The two locked up in an even struggle.

"I'm gonna take all of your alien powers!"

The two would slam each other into the wall before Kevin punched Ben and lifted him up to knee him in the gut. He then threw him a ways into a far wall.

The brawl would continue as the Rustbucket pulled up overhead, Max and Gwen stepping out where they would see Altera.

"How come your not helping him!?" Gwen asked.

"It would be too dangerous for me to get close to Kevin."

"Why?"

"I can't say."

Ben was getting clobbered as Kevin overpowered him into another wall. During the struggle the watch was beginning to time out.

"No!"

Four Arms kicked Kevin off and ran up to him punching the shit out of him till he was sent flying into three support pillars.

"Ok ok I give! Pleas just lighten up!"

"I did, by about 300 pounds." Ben said.

"I guess I let the power get to my head, but I don't have anyone like you to help me."

"We can still be partners, we'll just be kicking butt for good, you can hang with us!" Ben said pointing to the others.

"What's in it for me?"

"For starters people will like you."

Ben lent his hand to Kevin and he took it only to show he was deceiving him, and grabbed him by the arm picking him up.

"Oh man, you are so dim! You're mommy ever drop you on your head when you were a baby?" Kevin mocked as he batted Max away who rushed to help.

"Now give that watch!" Kevin demanded as he tried to remove the Omnitrix.

"I told you I can't." Ben responded.

The watch now recharged began to spark and overload before the energy output sent the two of them flying in separate directions.

Kevin smacked into the edge of the bridge hard enough that it collapsed it. Kevin was unharmed though as he was reverted to normal.

"No!"

Kevin proceeded to run off now that he was defenseless.

The Rustbucket was back on the road, Ben was still hung up on his actions from before, he then felt a hand on his shoulder and looked to see Altera next to him with a gentle look.

"Don't let it get to you too much Ben, truth be told, what you did pales in comparison to my own sins." Altera said softly on the last portion.

"What? What do you mean?"

Altera kept quiet.

"You can tell me, it's ok."

"You're better off not knowing."

Ben wanted to hear what she meant but the look in her eyes was warning not to pry further.

"Does this have anything to do with the kind of power Kevin absorbed from you?"

Altera simply nodded.

Back in Kevin's underground hideout he was sitting and plotting.

"They called me a freak before, but wait till they see me now." He said as fire erupted from his hand.

He was about to laugh when another headache.

"AAAAAHHHH!! What the Hell man!"

Each time these headaches hit him he kept on hearing a word, he didn't know what it was but this latest one it became more clear.

Velber.

AN: And that is the chapter introducing Kevin! Uh oh he has no idea what he just came into contact with like Altera said, who knows what will come of this development moving forward. One thing is for certain, danger looms ever…so…slowly.
