Fear made Ashlinn go stiff. She looked at Castiel with suspicion; had they come back just to take her to the angels? Castiel looked away. Uriel sighed with impatience and said angrily, "You know our orders as well as I do. Don't let your sympathy get the best of you."

Ashlinn grabbed onto the back of Uriel's shirt to steady herself and felt something odd. A necklace. As quickly as she could, she grabbed her switchblade out of her pocket and cut the string. Uriel looked at her in disbelief as she tossed the vial of Anna's grace to her. Anna tried to catch it, but it slipped through her hands. As the vial broke, Ashlinn watched in horror as the light went inside of Anna, and Anna's body glowed with a light blue light before combusting from the grace.

Uriel threw Ashlinn to the ground in surprise as he took a step back from the blaze. With a look of pure disgust, he turned his attention back to Ashlinn and took out his blade. In a voice that was almost a growl, he said, "I should have just done this from the beginning."

Kai pulled Ashlinn back as Uriel strode toward them with his blade ready. As Castiel called out to Uriel, Ashlinn heard another set of wings, and Uriel turned to see Balthazar a split second before Balthazar plunged his own sword into Uriel. There was a glow of light from Uriel's eyes before he crumpled onto the ground.

"Well… Bit of a bummer. He was the funniest angel in the garrison," Balthazar said, looking at Uriel's body. "I'm much funnier, of course."

Ashlinn breathed out a sigh of relief as Balthazar helped her and Kai back to their feet. Alastair was on the ground, not dead but not awake. Ashlinn turned to the Devil's Trap to see that it had been gouged and Lilith had disappeared in the chaos.

"Uriel helped Lilith escape," Balthazar told Castiel, giving him a helping hand. "He's been working with the demons to raise Lucifer… He was probably the one who told Lilith that little miss badass was going to be here."

Ashlinn looked around before she started to panic. "Where's Sam?"

Her phone rang, and she relaxed as she saw Sam's picture on the screen. "Sam?! Where are you?"

"At the hotel with Dean. Uriel grabbed us and brought us here. Are you okay?"

"Lilith escaped…"

Sam sighed and said, "But you're okay, right?"

"Yeah."

"Then that's all that matters."

"Yeah," Ashlinn said, gripping the phone. "I'll meet you guys there."

"Okay. Stay safe."

As Ashlinn ended the call, she glanced over to where Anna had disappeared. Anna's body had disintegrated. Ashlinn tried to remember how Anna had gotten her original body back, but she couldn't. Maybe it was something that the show had glossed over. Feeling eyes on her, she looked up and noticed Balthazar giving her an expectant look.

"What next, my liege?" Balthazar asked jokingly as Castiel also looked over to her.

Kai, Castiel, and Balthazar all watched her as she looked at Alastair's unconscious body. After taking a few seconds to process the madness, she said, "Well, we need to get the hell out of here. I know a place where the angels can't get to us. Balthazar, would you mind taking us to the hotel? We're going to need to get Alastair somewhere out of sight before the demons come looking for him."

"And you're going to interrogate him?" Balthazar asked with amusement. "I can't wait to see how you do that to Hell's chief torturer."

"We can do that," Castiel spoke up. "The angels have more advanced ways of… obtaining information. I will let you know what he tells us."

"If the angels let you… If they don't decide that he's more useful dead."

Balthazar shrugged in agreement and said, "She's got a point… so what's your plan?"

"We can't torture him the way he is… He's probably immune to most forms of torture… He might even enjoy them. So I'm going to turn him human."

Balthazar's eyes went wide, and Castiel looked unsure. However, it was Kai who spoke up.

"And how are you going to do that?"

"There's a way… it involves purifying human blood and giving him a dose every hour on the hour… I don't know how successful it'll be on a demon as old and powerful as Alastair, but… it's worth a shot."

Balthazar hoisted the demon over his shoulder and held out his hand. Ashlinn looked at Castiel, but he was looking away. At least he was letting them get away. As she held onto Balthazar's hand, the world swirled around them, and she was suddenly hoisted into the air. Letting go of Balthazar's hand, she grabbed onto Dean and returned his hug.

"Why did you bring him along?" Dean asked as he released her.

"Which one?" Ashlinn asked, looking toward Alastair, Balthazar, and Kai. "We do need all three. Balthazar is an angel, and he just saved my life. So play nice. And we're going to take the demon home to do an experiment… Bobby should still be at the house. We can send them ahead, so Alastair doesn't wake up and cause trouble."

Dean mumbled to himself as Sam called Bobby. After giving Balthazar the directions, Balthazar soon vanished. Sam gave Ashlinn a hug and asked, "Is Anna…?"

"She's not dead… Uriel had her grace. When the container broke, it went back to where it belonged… But Anna's body wasn't strong enough to contain it. She's alive but without a body."

Sam gripped her shoulder reassuringly before they all piled into the Impala. Ashlinn closed her eyes as Dean put on a pop station. Even he must be feeling sorry for her. As they drove out of the parking lot, Ashlinn stared out of the window. It was hard to feel much of anything right now. Maybe it was the shock. Anna was gone but not forever; they'd see each other again. She'd make sure of it. A hand wrapped around hers, and she turned to see Kai looking at her with measuring eyes. He muttered a spell. Ashlinn narrowed her eyes in suspicion.

"All I did was a small illusion spell. They can't hear us talking, and it looks like we're sleeping… I just wanted to make sure that you're actually okay. I know that you won't say anything to them because you don't want them to worry."

"I'm fine, Kai. Anna is okay, just… I won't see her for a while. But I'm fine."

Kai rolled his eyes but decided to drop it. "Okay. Just know that I'm here if you need someone to talk to."

"I know."

"There is something that I'm curious about… How is turning him human going to help with information? Make him easier to torture? Honestly, I don't think that will work. If it was me, that wouldn't make me want to help you… Unless it gets him off. But then you've got yourself a whole new problem."

"No. God no. I… once a human turns into a demon, their capacity for emotion is… damaged."

"So basically like me."

"I guess… once you get close to changing them back into a human, they start to fully feel things again. Although for a demon as old and deranged as Alastair, I don't know if that'll be the case."

"He could just be like me… then what will you do?"

"I don't want to torture him, but I'm sure plenty of his enemies would like a human version of him to torture. I can promise him safety in return for information."

"And if he doesn't care about that?"

"Then we'll have to work around that… I'm not omniscient. I just have to play with the cards that I've been dealt."

Kai pouted a little as he ended the spell and went back to staring out of the window. Ashlinn's eyelids felt heavy as she tried to stay awake, but the gentle vibrations of the car soon faded away as sleep took hold. She awoke to her head resting on Kai's shoulder.

"Sorry," she mumbled with a yawn.

"No problem at all," Kai said with a smirk at Sam and Dean.

Ashlinn could tell that there had been some kind of disagreement between them, but she pretended she didn't notice anything. It could wait until after she'd gotten some real shut-eye. A glimmer of white hair caught her attention, and she turned to see Winona nervously waiting outside of her house. Getting out of the car, she ran to Winona and threw herself into Winona's arms.

"Anna… she didn't come back with us," Ashlinn said, feeling her voice breaking.

Winona lovingly stroked her hair and led Ashlinn inside her house. After helping Ashlinn onto the couch, Winona went into the kitchen to make tea. Trying to relax, Ashlinn leaned into the couch. Winona soon put a cup of tea in her hands, and Ashlinn thanked her.

"Is Anna…"

"She's not dead. Her grace was restored, but it destroyed her human body. She's still alive. Just…" Ashlinn stopped and wiped her face. "I'm sorry. I don't know why I'm so…"

"Ashlinn," Winona said her name gently. "It's okay. You don't need to explain anything… Your friend is missing. We'll find her."

Ashlinn nodded and took a sip of the tea. Winona sat on the couch next to her, and Ashlinn rested her head onto Winona's shoulder. The door opened, and Ashlinn sat up as Ash came into the room. Ash put a hand on her shoulder and asked, "You okay, Two-point-O?"

Ashlinn set down her tea on the coffee table and gave him a hug. She couldn't say anything for fear of crying, and Ash silently held onto her as she gripped onto him for support. A knock on the door made Ashlinn look at the doorway.

Andy walked in with a worried look on his face and said, "Kai said that you'd want to see me."

Upon getting a closer look at Ashlinn's face, Andy rushed forward and joined the hug. Ashlinn leaned onto Andy and allowed herself to finally relax. She was too tired to cry… too emotionally drained. And part of her refused to cry. Ashlinn couldn't, and wouldn't, believe that Anna was gone forever. Anna would get a new body, and she'd be back.

"Do you wanna have a musketeer night?" Ash asked, and Ashlinn laughed.

"Yeah… let's do that. I'll probably fall asleep though; I'm pretty tired," Ashlinn said, letting go of Ash and Andy.

"We have plenty of room," Winona said, gently bringing Ashlinn's head back to her shoulder.

Andy sat on the armchair next to Ashlinn as Ash came back with a collection of 'musketeer' movies. Ashlinn sat upright and joined in as they debated which one to watch. Finally, they agreed on one and put it into the VCR. Ash took a seat on the other side of Winona, sharing a special look. Ashlinn and Andy smiled at each other. Ash was never more 'gushy' than when he was around Winona. Ash looked at the two of them with narrowed eyes, and they gave him their best 'innocent' look.

It had been a long time since it had been just the four of them. Ashlinn could feel the tiredness in her bones as she relaxed into the couch, but there was a certain comfort in it now. As the movie started, Ashlinn focused on the television. It was a movie that they had watched together before; to be honest, they'd probably watched it about twenty times.

As Ashlinn watched the familiar scenes play out, she could feel her eyelids getting heavier and heavier. She wanted to stay awake. To make this tiny moment last just a bit longer. A moment of familiarity and warmth… But as the scenes changed, her eyes had a hard time focusing on what was in front of her, and soon it all faded to black as a blanket was gently placed on top of her.
