On monday morning when Evan saw Rose walk in the school she smile at him as she walked over to him

"Morning Rose"

"Morning Evan thank you for your birthday gift i love it"

"I'm pleased that you love it, I remember you telling me that you don't like yellow gold. amy told me what happened after I left"

"I was shocked that he got me a gift but amy told me it was you. I can't believe that Eric showed up with no gift and that he lied to everyone there including mum and dad"

"I know, our friends know"

"I know, we better go looking forward to the maths test today"

"no you" they walk towards their first class of the morning

"no but we shall see" she said smiling to him.

Year later on rose seventeen birthday Eric purpose to her in front of his and her families. Rose was shocked when he showed her a three carat round diamond solitaire set in yellow gold.

"Well rose what do you say"

"I… I'm shocked" he stood up.

"I know you are but well" he hugged her

"If you don't say yes, your parents will lose the bank lone" he whisper to her

"what are you talking about"

"they remorague there house, i know the bank manager, if you say no one phone call and they lwon't get the lone." Then he move back while smiling at her. She turns to her family then to Eric. She knew that the family has been struggling for a while but didn't realise how bad it was.

"Ok."

"Yes" he said then he put the ring on her finger then he kissed her while they two families celebrated.

The next morning when she saw Evan at his place before work soon as she saw him she cried. So he hugged her "what wrong rose" he look at his mum she turn and walk out of the kitchen but stop close by to listen in.

"I don't know what to do"

"what happened"

"Eric purpose to me last night infront of our families" she show him the ring

"You don't like yellow gold"

"I know that and so does he but he didn't listen to me"

"so you said yes"

"I said ok… Even he black mailing me" she cried once again so he hugged her till she was ready to pull away

"what happened"

"If I don't say yes, he is going to call the bank manager and have him turn down there loan, mum and dad are remortgage on the house and they would lose it"

"Why do they need to remortgage it"

"it second mortgage because of the sewage and draining pipes that needs replacing and the wall in the bathroom the one over the bath since it rotten cause of the showers and whoever put the wall up didn't do a good job and water got into the wall and boards behind it are rotten, then there the roof, the windows"

"so he uses the second mortgage to black mail you"

"Yes"

"OH Rose" they hug once more.

"You and your parents been living in that house for almost twenty five years"

"I know, I don't want to see them lose it"

"same here" Evan wasn't happy with what Eric been doing in the past few months but at least he is there for Rose.

"We will work something out Rose"

"I know" Rose left a few minutes late for work.

Evan turn when his mother walk back into the kitchen "He gone to far mum"

"I know son, but they should know what is going on"

"I agree but i keep my word to Rose that I won't tell them"

"I know you did"

Three months later at theJ ackson property Eric and Rose got married it was a small wedding with close family and friends. Eric grandfather paid for the wedding. None of Rose friends was invited to the wedding only Eric side and she had no choice but to have Eric snobby cousin as bridesmaid. She found the most ugliest dress with Evan help to wear at the wedding.

During the wedding vows she never look at Eric once, she look everywhere else but his face. And when they kiss her held her face tight in his hands so the kiss would be longer. She hated kissing him. Then afterwards she went in side making an excuse that she needed to go to the toilet. While there she wipes the lipstick and make up off her since Eric cousin put too much makeup on. When she returns back out side she keep away from Eric and his mates.

That night when they arrived at the hotel for their wedding night. Rose slip Eric a couple of sleeping tablets that she got from her mother bottle while they sip the wine that in there hotel room. "I'm going to have a shower"

"i'll wait for you in bed" he said grinning at her then he finish drink from the glass then he refilled it up and drank from the glass again.

Rose walk into the bathroom removing every thing then she went and have a shower to get rid of the moose and gel from her hair. When done she put a robe on and walk out to see Eric sleeping. So she got dressed and repack her bag and walk out of the room and went into a room two doors down that Evan mum book the room after Evan came up with a plan and with his mum help the plan work. So rose spent the night in the hotel room.

The next morning she returns to the bedroom and ordered number of breakfasts and called her parents while eric still sleeping. When it arrived she thanked the staff before they walk out. She ate some of it while Eric sleep on.

When she finishes it was time to wake him up "Eric wake up"

"what, hey why are you dress"

"Eric you fell asleep when I walk out of the bathroom"

"Well then get undress and come to bed"

"Eric look at your watch and out side, it morning and i got to go to work"

"what morning already" he sat up in bed

"Yes, i ordered breakfast, you better get yours before it getting cold. I got to go" she picked up her bags and walk out the door, leaving a confused and doppy Eric in bed till he could smell the food which causes him to get out of bed.

Rose mum showed up in her car. Rose put her bags in the boot of the car then she got in "thanks mum" she put her seat belt on

"that's ok, how was your wedding night last night"

"Meaning what"

"you know love making"

"nothing happens"

"what?" Mrs Watson was shocked

"nothing happens, eric drank three glasses of champagne last night and fell asleep while I was in the shower"

"three glasses that shouldn't cause him to pass out on his wedding night"

"don't forget the champagne from the wedding and he was tipsy last night when we left"

"that true. Mr Jackson showed up this morning with his staff, they pick up your things since you now living with them"

"already"

"Yeah and he said you don't have to go back to school or work"

"I do want to go back to school mum, you know I wanted to become a nurse and i love my job"

"i know you do"

"I'm going to finish school"

"good for you"

"thanks mum, there six months of school left and I want to finish it"

"Good on you" Her mum drop Rose off at work then she went home.

When Rose went to see one of the residents she notice the women room empty, she turn around "sonia where MS Clarkson"

"Oh sorry Rose, you weren't here yesterday, she passed away yesterday morning"

"what, oh no" she said with a sad look on her face

"you knew how ill she been with the two strokes hse had last week. She had a massive one yesterday morning before lunch"

"thank you for telling me" she walks away and went to see another resident.

The next morning while at school she wasn't wearing her rings and she talked to Evan soon as he arrived in school. "How did the wedding go"

"Teariable and so was the wedding night"

"meaning"

"plan work" She said smiling.

"that good and last night"

"I told Eric that i got my period, he was fine with it and he left after dinner last night to see a mate. But when he returns home at two in the morning, I could smell lavender bubble bath and perfume so i know he has been sleeping with some one"

"He still doing that"

"Yep. I won't be in school tomorrow"

"Why?"

"MS Clarkson passed away last Saturday, the funeral tomorrow" He gives her a hug, when they pulled appart.

"Ok, come on let go and we can talk later"

"Why not" she said smiling at him.

The next morning Rose attended Ms Clarkson's funeral. She learns that she was engaged to an army soldier when she was sixteen and was her high school sweetheart before world war two started and he was killed in action three months later while overseas. His body was returned and buried at the Melbourne R.S.L. Plot. Ms clarkson join the army as a nurse to help out with the war relief overseas.

When she returns at the end of the war she stay in the army for fifty years before her retirement when she was sixty seven which was two years ago. After that she was in a car accident when she had a stroke and she ended up in the home after spending weeks in rehab so she could learn to walk and talk before she went into the home.

After the funeral Ms Clarkson was buried next to her fiance since she brought the plot next to him since she wanted to be with the only man she ever loved. After they everyone went to the R.S.L hall for refreshments. Rose was there for an hour talking to Ms clarkson relatives when Eric and his mates walk in and walk over and help themselves to food and drinks.

"Do you know them" a man said

"No don i never seen them before in my life and the way they dress i don't think they work in the home"

"I shall ask them to leave"

"I'll do it"

"do you know them"

"Yeah i do and it is not the first time they have done this, it nice meeting you ma'am"

"you to rose and thank you for looking after our sister"

"it was a pleasure ma'am" then she walked over to Eric "what are you doing here"

"come for food and drink"

"you are a disgrace and embarrassment, all of you" then she walked out and got into her new car that Eric grandfather brought her the day before and she drove to a spot where she sat there and cried.

She stayed there for two hours, then she got changed since she got her bag with her and left to go to the home to do her shift. The next day while Rose was at work a man walk into the home so she walked over to him

"Good afternoon sir may I help you"

"Yes i'm looking for Rose Watson"

"You found her what can I help you with sir"

"I'm miss Loiuse Clarkson lawyer"

"Oh… what is this about"

"MS clarkson left you some thing in her will, but I will need some proof of ID"

"sure follow me sir" He follow her down to the staff room and walked over to her locker where she got her bag out then her purse.

She got her drivers licence out and pass it to him. He look it ok and pass it back to her. Then he opened the briefcase and got a file out and open it and passed it to her then he passed her a pen

"what this" she read what it said and she relies that Ms Clarkson left her with some money. When finish reading it she look up to.

"You need to sign where your name is" Rose look at it and sign it. Then she pass it back to him. Then he passed her an envelope where she saw her name on it. She opened it and pulled out a letter she read what it said and was shocked that Ms Clarkson giving Rose five hundred thousand dollar so she could buy herself a house and go to nursing school and wish her all the best.

"Oh my gosh, it a lot of money"

"she must of thought highly of you for her to leave you with the money"

"I'll say" then she saw the cheque in the envelope. She pulled it out

"My gosh"

"Good luck with your dreams for the future"

"thank you" he picked up his briefcase and walk out of the staff room.

Rose smile as she put everything back in her bag then she ran out of the staff room "Mary i'm going out i'll be about twenty minutes and i'll make it up when i finish my shift"

"ok what going on"

"Later" rose went to the bank and put it into her account then she return back to work.
