Tilda finished her morning coffee while standing outside in the garden. Seth had just left 30 minutes ago and reminded her about the gorgeous gartner Roman.
"If you need him, go ask at the grocery store. He told me that himself. I bet you're gonna need him real soon."
She giggled at Seth's final words once again. The way he had looked at her and wiggled his eyebrows. He wanted her to move on from Dean and get some action. Roman wouldn't be a bad way to move on after six years with an abuser.
"I should mow the lawn," she mumbled.
The grass needed to be trimmed. She might as well make herself useful while living there. She walked back inside and placed the cup down on the kitchen counter. She walked out in the shed and found the lawn mower. She pulled it out in the garden and tried turning it on. Nothing happened. She sighed when she realized it was probably empty of fuel. She went back to the shed and searched everything, but she couldn't find any gasoline.
"For fuck sake!" She sighed. "It's like the fucking universe wants me to be around Roman."
That was her only two options right now. Leave the grass as it was or find Roman and ask for help. Again the sane and inside sides of her brain battled each other. She had to shut down the insane side. Dean put it in there. He didn't get to decide anymore.
"Roman it is," she said.
She started walking past the houses, hoping to spot him somewhere. She finally made it to the grocery store and walked inside.
"I'm sorry to bother you but I was told you could help me reach Roman," she said.
The man behind the counter smirked at her and found his phone. He dialed the number and shortly after Roman picked up.
"Roman, it's Hunter," he said. "There's a lady here who needs your help. I don't know with what."
Hunter looked at Tilda while waiting for an answer.
"The lawn mower won't start," she said.
"She needs to have the lawn mowed," he said. "What house are you in, lady?"
"Tell him it's Tilda," she said.
"She says her name is Tilda," he smirked. "Oh, you do know. I'll tell her that. Bye."
He hung up and kept the smirk on his face.
"He's on his way," he said.
"Thank you," she said.
"He likes lemonade," he pointed at the fridge. "In case you want to buy him something."
She took two lemonades from the fridge, paid for them, and went back home. A car drove into the driveway 15 minutes later. She walked out to greet him as he exited his mini van.
"I'm sorry to bother you," she said.
"Don't worry about it," he said.
"I tried finding you myself," she said.
"It's my day off so I was at home," he said.
Her smile dropped. She hated having ruined his day off.
"Don't look like that," he smiled. "I wanna help you. And it sounded like an easy fix."
"I can't find any gasoline for the lawn mower," she said.
"I got that," he said.
He opened the side door in his mini van and took out a can of gasoline. They walked around to the garden, and two minutes later the lawn mower roared to life.
"Thank you. I'll take it from here," she said.
"Nonsense. It's a small garden. I got this. And it's free of charge so don't worry," he said.
She opened her mouth to argue against that but he started mowing the lawn with a smile on his face. He was done 20 minutes later. He pulled off his t-shirt and wiped the sweat of his forehead.
"Phew, it's gonna be another hot day," he said.
"I bought you lemonade," she said.
She walked inside and opened the fridge. He followed behind her and accepted the bottle of lemonade.
"My favorite," he chuckled. "Did Hunter tell you?"
"He did," she said.
"I figured," he said.
He unscrewed the lid and emptied half of the bottle in one go.
"Damn, that's good," he grinned. "So, where's Seth?"
"He went home this morning. I kinda live here for now," she said.
"That's weird. I thought you might be his girlfriend or wife," he said.
"No, we're not a couple," she said.
His smile dropped and he nodded. He had seen it happen before. Rich men hiding their mistresses in their vacation homes so they could stop by and fuck them whenever they wanted.
"You're better than that," he said.
"Better than what?" She asked.
"Being someone's side piece," he answered.
She looked puzzled for two seconds and then started laughing.
"You have it all wrong," she said. "We're friends. We go way back to high school. He's helping me out. That's all."
"Oh," he regained his smile. "I'm so sorry. And really, it's none of my business. Still, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have assumed something like that."
"It's okay. I don't know what I would have thought myself if the roles were reversed," she said.
"I doubt I'd make a good mistress. I don't like to bottom," he said.
She snorted in laughter. He couldn't help but laugh too. She laughed so hard that her stomach started hurting.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"I needed that," she dried her eyes of tears from laughing. "You have no idea how bad I needed that."
"That bad, huh?" He asked.
"Like six shitty years of bad," she answered.
"Damn!" He said. "Whoever he was, he lost when he let you go."
"He didn't let me go. I ran for my life in the middle of the night," she said.
She had no idea why she told him that. She expected him to make up some excuse and leave. Instead he just kept staring at her. He moved closer slowly, as if he was scared to move too fast around her.
"Roman," she whispered.
"I'm not gonna hurt you," he said.
"I'm scared," she said.
"Of me?" He asked.
"Of almost everything but weirdly not you," she answered.
"Do you want me to leave?" He asked.
"No, I want..." She stopped herself.
"Want what?" He asked. "I can't read your mind."
"I'm afraid to say it out loud," she said.
"Can I kiss you?" He asked.
"Yes, please," she almost begged.
He leaned down and kissed her. The moment she felt his soft lips against hers, she forgot all about Dean or any other man before him. Roman was all she could think of. She started opening his shorts and he backed her up to the kitchen counter. She pushed his shorts down to his knees and found him naked underneath.
"You don't believe in underwear?" She asked.
"Hunter called just as I was about to enter the shower. There was no time," he answered.
"Damn, you want me that bad?" She smirked.
"Yes!" He said firmly.
He kissed her again and hissed into the kiss when her hand closed around his dick. He grabbed her and lifted her up to sit on the countertop. He pushed her dress up to her waist and pulled her panties off. He leaned down and planted his face between her legs. The moment his tongue connected with her clit, she leaned back against the wall and moaned. She couldn't remember the last time anyone had eaten her out. Dean used to in the beginning when he was still wheeling her in and making her fall for him. Once he had her, it became all about what he wanted.
"Roman!" She panted. "I... I... I..."
She couldn't form a full sentence, nor did she need to. She closed her eyes and cried out. He gave her everything he could until she stopped shaking. He moved back up, kissed her again, and entered her in one fast move.
"Fuck!" She gasped.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Better than okay. Holy shit, Roman," she grinned at him. "Please, don't stop."
He kissed her again and moved his hips back and forward to perfection. She got so lost in pleasure that she forgot everything around her. For a moment her world wasn't crashing down. Everything felt just right. He broke her again three minutes later. She cried out a second time, and he tumbled over the edge with her. He held still and leaned his forehead against hers.
"I feel like I must say that I don't usually have sex with other people in this area," he said.
She laughed, placed her hands behind his neck, and pulled him in for another kiss.
"But in other areas?" She asked.
"I think it's been like seven months since I last slept with someone, and that was just a one night stand," he said.
"So no girlfriend or wife?" She asked.
"Nope, single as can be," he grinned.
"That's good to know," she said.
His phone buzzed from his shorts on the floor. He gave her an apologetic look, stepped away from her, and picked up his shorts. He found his phone and read the text.
"Sorry, my sister asked if I could stop by and fix her faucet. Apparently it's been dripping all night, and her in-laws are coming in two hours so she needs it fixed now before she goes out of her mind," he said.
"Your sister?" She asked.
"Yes, I have three sisters," he smirked. "I'm not lying to you. I've been the side piece once before without knowing she had a boyfriend, and that shit hurts. I would never do that do someone, and I would never cheat on a partner either."
He put on his shorts and t-shirt. She kept sitting on the countertop, watching him as he got dressed. He stepped up to her again and gave her a quick kiss.
"I hate to run out on you like this," he said.
"It's okay," she said.
"I'll see you later," he said.
He gave her another quick kiss and then left the house. She jumped off the counter and listened to his car drive away. It was okay. There hadn't been a promise of anything more than this. She couldn't stop smiling though. It had felt so good, and it was exactly what she needed. She found her phone, walked to the bedroom, threw herself down on the bed, and texted Seth.
"I just fucked the gartner."
