Here is the next chapter. I am sorry it has taken me so long to upload one but I really had no idea where this story was going to go. In fact I still don't but I'll be working on it more going forward and we'll see where it takes us. Thank you so much and please review love Hermione X
Godric sometimes felt that the only way to show someone that something they did wasn't working was to demonstrate it to them. He and Salazar entered the charms classroom and he gasped in horror at the pile of books in there. Surely the teacher wouldn't attempt to stand on them? Surely he or she wasn't that stupid? He really had hoped it wasn't going to happen, he really had. When Professor Flitwick entered and he saw him approach and climb the pile of books he knew for sure he'd been wrong. He was a fool. He was obviously too small, that much was clear. What was most bizarre though was that no one had thought something else could be done to compensate for it. He could have a high platform like a dais which would allow him to see everyone well. He was clearly embarrassed about his height, dangerous fool Godric thought with a sneer. Before Salazar could tell him to calm down, the pile of books tumbled to the floor blasting apart totally. All of the book shards fell on Filius heavily. In fact they fell a little too heavily. He was bruised by the end of it and looked furious. He tried to repair them and couldn't with Godric wandlessly counter acting all of his spells yet looking normal outwardly.
FOR MERLINS SAKE STOP STRUGGLING YOU DANGEROUS FOOL! GET YOURSELF A DAMN RAISED PLATFORM. I SWEAR IT'S A WONDER YOU HAVE A BRAIN AT ALL! YOU HAVE CHARMS FOR A FUCKING REASON USE THEM TO GOOD AFFECT! Godric snapped from his portrait making Filius jump and scowl deeply at him. He and Salazar had made sure that portraits of all the four founders were in every classroom last night. This way they could protect themselves as and when needed. Salazar thought it would be good also to be able to guide the teachers as and when they did something wrong. A mortified Filius conjured a platform for himself. He was so embarrassed he'd not thought of doing this before. It was much easier and safer this way. He was still angry and stumped as to what had happened to him earlier. Either way he'd get on with the lesson.
"Good morning class. I am Professor Flitwick and welcome to charms. Here you will learn many important charms to help you throughout your life. I will now demonstrate some for you!" he said raising his wand. He enchanted some pineapples making them fly around the room. Using a second charm he made them simply hover in the air. Using a final charm he severed the pineapple and sent pieces to everyone's desk so they could enjoy them. Harry smirked. This was indeed good. It showed clearly what they would be learning and made it look like fun as well.
"Today we will learn the levitation charm. It is one of our most basic spells we must all know how to use. Take your wands like me, come on now. There we are. Now swish and flick just like me. The words are Wingardium Leviosa and remember how you pronounce them does matter!" he instructed placing feathers on all of their desks.
Salazar and Godric held back on purpose because otherwise they'd have lifted the whole table. If it was obvious that they withheld anything when casting their spells Flitwick never said it to them. They eventually made it look as though they were trying very hard and lifted their feathers at the same time making him squeak in surprise. They made their feathers fly around the room essentially racing each other and giggled. This was indeed fun.
"See here everyone they've done it! Twenty points to Slytherin for Ronald and Harry here. Well done boys. You are the first of your family Ronald to ever get a spell in the first lesson. I'm so proud keep it up! Harry your mother was a charms prodigy I hope you will be too" he enthused as everyone looked at them. Hermione was furious she'd not been the first to get it and in her rage sent her feather which was now solid metal barrelling into the face of Professor Flitwick who fell over when it hit him.
"Ten points from Gryffindor and detention with me tonight for not focusing Ms Granger. How on earth did you manage to make your feather solid? That only happens when one has lost control emotionally. Thankfully I'm alright!" he screeched making her jump with the fright.
"I'm so sorry sir I didn't mean to do that. In fact I don't know how I did do that" she said looking panic stricken. There was a commotion at the other end of the room when Neville Longbottom somehow managed to make himself float and leave his feather on the ground. Salazar scanned the frightened boy as he'd been watching him. He'd done everything perfectly but it had still not worked. He then saw he had a blocked core and was absolutely furious. He wandlessly unblocked it forgetting how painful that could be as Neville screamed in pain and fell to the floor landing on a soft spot due to Flitwick's careful and quick work.
"Mr Longbottom are you alright?" he asked as Neville grimaced visibly.
"Sir I have a headache. I don't know what happened to me but I have a bad headache. I'm so sorry. Please let me try the spell again!" he insisted as he cast the spell all the feathers in the room rising up to the ceiling dancing in unison.
"See here everyone! Neville here has put too much power into his spell and has lifted all of your feathers as well. Ten points for your house Mr Longbottom. Come with me to the hospital wing. While we're gone please practice and read over chapter one!" he said seriously. Salazar decided to test everyone in the room and see how their cores looked as well. Ronald Weasley also had an affected core. His core was not blocked but was very low and barely hanging on for some weird reason. His wandless analysis told him it had not always been this way. He wandlessly infused a bit of magic into his core to see what happened. He noticed the core fill up and stay up before draining once more. Then he saw it a parasite he'd missed before. Someone had cursed him and he'd need to get rid of the parasite the only way he knew how.
Ron suddenly started sneezing violently the parasite coming up his throat and flying out his mouth whereupon it smashed against the wall and died. His core was then filled to the max wandlessly. This did have the side effect of making him pass out but at least he had a full core now. Ron was not even noticed by the others as they were all engrossed in practicing the spell. When Filius came back to tell them class was now over he gasped and revived a stunned Ronald. "What happened to me sir? I feel different!" he asked carefully as Filius frowned.
"I think you fainted Mr Weasley. Please try the spell now and take this replenishing draught!" he said handing Ron the small potion which he took instantly feeling way better. He then cast the spell effortlessly as Hermione scowled deeply at him.
"Sir that's not fair he cheated! He was awful before and now suddenly he's excellent at that charm!" she accused as those around her gasped.
"She's right sir he was awful before. He almost hit me in the eye but I don't think he's cheating because I have a life!" said Susan sneering at Hermione in disgust.
"Well clearly he learned the hard way that doing it the way he had been doing it was wrong. He fainted for this reason. Well done Mr Weasley. Miss Bones be thankful he did not get you and mind your words in future. Miss Granger if you'd spent longer focusing on your own work and less time on his, you'd be a better student!" he said smartly as her eyes welled with tears. This was so unfair. Ron was sent to the hospital wing to be checked over properly and would be kept in for observations overnight just in case. Next they had their first DADA lesson and it would be so exciting to see how that went. They entered the DADA classroom sneezing heavily at the garlic present. A few wandless charms from Salazar and it was gone. The room now smelled lovely like fresh baked bread. It was a pleasant smell he knew everyone would enjoy. They sat at the back of the classroom where they could safely observe the teacher. He entered from his office and suddenly almost as if on cue began shaking. Now they'd both be watching him very closely indeed. Why was he pretending? What was his end goal? Only time throughout this lesson would tell them that.
