The two were in a room that made it look like a hospital, Naruto was on one of the two beds in the room and he was being taken care of by Ororo Munroe, and the bed right next to his was his friend Sasuke who was taken care of by Crimson Fox who was looking after him like a worried wife.
As they seem to fall asleep the women in the room decided to leave and let the two men sleep, but knew they were alright thanks to the sensors in the room and could know how they were by looking at their vitals. As soon as they realized that Naruto asked Sasuke if he was awake, to which he heard the friend whisper that he was.
"Naruto can you believe our luck? We just had to meet so many people we had known since the old war, I was surprised to hear Jim got married to Silver Fox and to find that Crimson Fox still has a crush on you even after all these years."
Sasuke grumbled as he said that his main concern was to know their current location and what trouble was headed their way, these people didn't exactly meet them in the most civil manners and Sasuke after so many years looked at him and wondered where were the girls that they had been sent by the goddess to replace.
The only thing that was a constant pest was that some people were trying to force their way into their minds, and almost as an instinctual response their minds began to go through the most horrible memories they could remember, things that could be seen as horror film masterpieces, but as soon as the people saw them, they stopped trying to invade their minds, Naruto knew that an organized mind was not a good place for a person to invade.
The memories held no significant information, but they showed scenes that could only be described as things that came from hell. Logan had warned Charles against invading their mind, they fought against people that could do that during the war, and against the special forces under the command of the one that came to be called the Red Skull.
As they finally were talking two young women showed up apparently they wanted to see if the two men in the infirmary were doing alright, the sensors can give false readings, and as they stepped in they heard what seem to be whispering in the room, and so that is why they rushed in the room thinking someone had sneaked in and was trying to kill them.
Naruto simply smiled at them as he was sitting on the bed, "Wow there ladies, where is the fire?" Sasuke couldn't believe he tried to use that line on them, it was an old pickup line that he once tried to use on redhead that they once knew.
So you two are finally awake, strange your vitals show that your heartbeat and breathing are almost like you two are still asleep and yet you are quite awake. A problem with the sensors maybe." Naruto laughed and told her that they were both quite old, and with age comes experience, controlling their heart rate and breathing was actually quite simple for them to do.
"Yes, but it doesn't help with smells, we once had to walk through a concentration camp, and let's just say that when those bastards gassed people they were not very hygienic about it. If there was any doubt that those were death camps the smell was a dead giveaway, or maybe that was just that the people who did that were rotten, never could figure that one out."
Sasuke told him he doesn't need another reminder of their world war two days and instead he asked them both who exactly are they and where are they? One of the women smiled and sat on a chair near the bed, "I am Jean and this is Summer we are girlfriends, as to where you are, you are in the underground infirmary of the school we go to, Xavier's school for gifted students. Summer sometimes jokes and calls it Mutant High."
"Thank you for telling me this, but I still don't know how we ended up here, one minute we were having a reunion with some old war buddies, and one of their daughters, and then this guy who we rescued from one of those concentration camps tried pulling a cliche intimation like he was son, and after the fight, everything went dark, honestly we both expected to wake up in the Baxter building since we went there to start a research project with Dr. Richards there."
Summer sat on Naruto's bed and smiled, "Yea, you sort of got knocked out as I heard and they decided to bring you here instead of leaving you at the Baxter building, 'cause you know we got better medical equipment than they do. You've been asleep for the last couple of days actually, and your two friends who Wolverine keeps saying that they are your daughters, are in the room right next to you."
Sasuke looked at Summer and told her that would be impossible those two can't be left alone together without both of them trying to pick a fight against each other, to which Jean told him to relax since unlike them, their mental powers actually work so in a sense he is right, it is just that they are fighting each other inside their own minds.
Well, that made Sasuke relax a little bit since they still had to find a way to return them back to their own times, but he had a sneaky suspicion that they would be roped into doing something that could only be described as troublesome. He simply asked if they could leave, he didn't want to be a burden on their school or on their hospitality more than needed.
"So you two know Wolverine, bet you have a ton of stories about his past, it is kind of sad that he won't tell us anything about it," Sasuke tells her no many veterans would happily share such stories with others, especially to pretty young ladies, what they went through was something so horrible and gruesome that most of them tend to try and forget about it.
"True but we could tell you a few nice stories of our adventures with our old friends, most of them are dead I would imagine, not everyone has that healing factor that we share with Jimmy, we've been in wars since long before this nation even existed, but that is only natural, after all, we are ninjas. I guess we got used to the violence and cruelty of war since we began our training before we said our first words."
Jean asked them if they mean they were child soldiers in some other nation, to which Sasuke told her, no, they had begun their training since the moment they could walk but didn't actually enter into actual combat until much later, they were at least eight by the time they both killed their first enemy. Naruto told her that ninjas are those that endure, and as such, they had to be tougher, stronger, and faster than people living normal and peaceful lives.
During the wars they have been in only a small number of people actually knew their names or even who they were, for the most part, they fought in secret, and when fighting in the open they wore masks to keep their identities hidden.
They both have been married a few times but tragically none of their children inherited their ability or their long lifespan, so in truth, they had to see their wives and children grow old, wither, and die. If a person sees that too many times it wouldn't be surprising that this person becomes desensitized to things happening, like death. How much can a funeral shock a person if that person has seen over a hundred of them?
As Sasuke tried to relax he felt something familiar come from Jean and it was something he knows very well the ten tails inside him were hissing and saying that something like a tail beast was nearby, Naruto must have felt the same thing as he touched his own stomach and closed his eyes, in a matter of second he was inside a giant forest where Kurama was waiting for him, and apparently she decided to be in her human form and wear something that would make her look as sexy as possible, which made Naruto wonder why was she playing the seductress.
"Naruto, you know it, I can feel it and it is quite powerful, we both know what this is and where it is, from the memories you shared with me and the feeling I get from this energy the sooner you get this situation resolved the better, or else the girl named Jean may not live to regret it. This thing is not sealed it could take her over completely and that means when that happens the original Jean will be gone forever, not even that resurrection technique will work, it will be as if she never existed. "
He looked at her and smiled, "I know Kurama, but why did you choose to appear to me like this? Are you feeling alright?" Kurama began to laugh trying to hide her blush as she calmed down she told him she merely wanted to relax by wearing something comfortable so there was nothing wrong with her, but more importantly, he needs to deal with the beast in the red-haired girl.
Seeing that there is no getting away from this issue he simply said that he was going to but only wanted to ask her for confirmation since her senses are much better than his own. As he left Kurama grumbled about how Naruto is always surrounded by beautiful women and yet he never once flirted with her.
He opened his eyes as Jean apparently was taking his temperature by putting her forehead against his, he waited till she was done any wrong movement and they will end up kissing, he didn't want to end up having the headache of explaining an accident like that again.
"Jean, I know what is inside you, I can feel the power of something that is inside you, so I need to speak with her, but to do that I need to enter into your mind, so I am asking your permission to do that." That is when she asked him if he was going to read her thoughts, to which Naruto told her that it was different he was entering her mindscape, not only reading her thoughts as such that is why he needs her permission.
As soon as she actually told him he could, he placed his hand on her now exposed abdomen and immediately he entered her mindscape to say it was chaotic was an understatement, one side had rivers, trees, flowers, even mountains, and one was a covered in snow, and one was an active volcano.
In the middle of it was a massive bird-shaped force, redder than anything he had ever seen before and with a radiance that could match a sun, he walked towards it while Jean saw everything in this place, she never imagined that something like this existed in her own mind, it was a completely new experience for her.
"So I gather that you meeting me like this means you agree to parley, very well I will start, I know who you are and especially what you are, you are the primordial phoenix, the one many call the phoenix force, but I want to know is why are you inside this woman?"
The phoenix looked shocked as if she never expected anyone to know who or what she was, she tried to hide it by laughing and told Naruto that indeed she was the one and only phoenix force, and the reason why she was inside the woman is that she never found a more perfect vessel for her to take over, the phoenix went further and said that the only thing that she was waiting was for either something tragic happens that makes the human that she lost her will to live or that she died, and then she could take the body for herself.
Naruto told her that if he could have a little bit of her fire and some blood from Jean, then the entire thing of her waiting for that to happen would no longer be an issue since he and his friend could literally create for her a body of her very own, not one she used as a Vessel but one that was hers and only hers. She immediately said that if it was easy she would have done so hundreds of years ago, so she asked him how he and his friend could do something like that?
"My friend and I have lived for far longer than a few thousand years, let's face it after my one-thousandth birthday I stopped counting, I saw no real purpose to it. I am just that old and being this old my friend and I invented and created many techniques and learned as much as we could, it was the only thing that kept us both from going insane from boredom."
The phoenix nodded her head as she too expressed that boredom for someone who lived as long as she was truly something dreadful, she was essentially a force of the very universe, she couldn't die even if sometimes she wished that she could. So she hoped that by taking over a vessel she might have the chance to experience things she never had a chance to experience before, like falling in love, marriage, having and raising children, and living together with a mate, in her current life there is no other phoenix in the universe that could be mates with her, so besides dreading boredom she was also quite lonely.
As they exited her mindscape they began to hear the noise of a wheelchair, one that had an electrical motor by the sounds of it, but a motor, and it was headed towards the very room they were in. Sasuke had done his very best to explain what Naruto was doing to Summer, and for the most part, she didn't believe him until she entered his mindscape and saw the ten tails beat for herself.
"It seems someone is in a hurry to come and see us, somehow I don't think it is jimmy, his wife, or mine for that matter, but somehow I do feel that it is urgent, and could you please stop trying to invade my mind, it is no problem at all for me to keep you out but to expose you to my mental barrier so many times it is something I rather avoid before I end up traumatizing you."
That is when he heard a man laugh, he was dressed in a suit, and the only thing that sort of made him stand out was his shaved head, "It is just that I wish to verify what Logan said to me, and where did you learn to do that? I have never seen a person know how to create such an elaborate mental shield before. my name is Charles Xavier, and you are currently in the infirmary of my school."
Sasuke looked at the man and knew that he would not relent unless he got the answers to his questions, honestly, he would make Ibiki spill his secrets if he had met him, "Sasuke Uchiha, my friend Naruto Uzumaki, ninjas, as to where I learned esoteric practices, Buddhist texts and long discussions with several tribe shamans. It doesn't exactly help that we are several thousand years older than we look, so to us, it is as easy as breathing, the images are fake, automatically created to cause the most shock and horror, and people tend to want to escape things that they fear. After living for so many years and studying so many things, an organized mind is a dangerous place to invade, and ours is bigger and better organized than a library computer."
Charles asked about what has been the strangest things he know about, Naruto opened his eyes and told Charles that he knew the real reason for the sinking of Atlantis, he knew of the library of Alexandria, and they have knowledge of the Shi'ar Empire, New Genesis, Galactus, and even the ruler of Apokolips. "So you have to excuse me and my friend for being blunt, we are old, but I spent some time talking with the Phoenix Force you clearly know is inside of Jean, and we have come to a solution to her condition, we shall use our abilities and skills to create a new body for her and thus the phoenix will no longer need a vessel."
Charles was shocked to hear everything he heard but he was more worried about his student and asked if anything would happen to her as a result of this, Naruto told him that other than her mind becoming more focused and clear, no, nothing bad will happen to Jean. As for the Phoenix, she will have to get used to her new body, but that shouldn't take her that long.
Naruto quickly walked over to Charles and placed a hand on his head to which suddenly he felt a horrible pain throughout his body, but only for a second, "There, that should take care of your injury, I just reconnected and restored every damaged nerve in your body, so you will be able to walk but sadly after so much time without exercise it will take some rehabilitation before you can walk without the assistance of some kind."
Charles had honestly accepted the fact that he would have to use a wheelchair for the rest of his life, the mere fact that his paralysis could be cured was nothing to him short of a miracle, this actually made him quite happy that he met this two strangers he now had the hope of one day being able to walk again. Countless others around the world would have paid so much that these two men would be either considered holy saints or be even richer than he was, but they didn't use their knowledge or abilities for selfish and greedy goals it seems.
He couldn't understand why he felt this but it was a feeling he had, little did he know that while he was going through that painful treatment Naruto actually was also leaving little bits of information that could help him prevent certain tragedies and events that could cause him and his students' great harm, they simply would be active when they were needed as things are with memories.
"So you can create a whole new body, mind if I ask you about that and how do you know Logan, his wife, and Crimson Fox?" Sasuke told him it was nothing new for them, he made a simple hand sign, and where one Sasuke sat another one exactly like him stood right next to his bed, he simply said it was a bit of engineering and cloning, nothing too difficult, some races in space, in fact, depend entirely on cloning as their means of replenishing their population, so it was not that uncommon.
Naruto made a bad joke of it by saying it wasn't so bad, take a little something of this and a little something of that, mix it together, say a few magic words and poof a new body was created. Magic is simply science that people don't know or understand, it is as simple as that, what Naruto wanted to know is why did he call him Logan, and why he wanted to know.
Charles simply told him to understand why these people he knew for so long would speak so highly of them and even vouch for them. "First off, his name is James Howlett, he has been our friend for a few hundred years, his wife has been a friend of ours for less, and so has Crimson Fox, Jimmy was in the unit we both were, we fought together in what you call World War Two, we call it the World War because let's face it, it was just a continuation of the first."
"We have done many things, disliked many more, and found sadness and joy in equal measure, I grew up an orphan and my friend here lived to see his entire family slaughtered by his own elder brother, leaving him alive only to be consumed with the desire to avenge the wrongs done to him and restore his clan. We know of tragedy and loss, after seeing Erick like that however it makes us wonder how many monsters were created in those death camps."
After their little discussion, Naruto slammed his fists on the floor and almost in a mad quick succession drew up a seal, and with the blood of Jean and the fire he got he slammed both of them together and began making a bunch of hand signs and as soon as he finished the puddle of what should be burned blood that was on the seal because a woman who was as old as Jean and almost looked like her twin, except that her hair was a darker red, and the fact that Naruto was looking at her naked tits and ass obviously liking what he was seeing, to which Jean found offensive for a second.
They quickly made some clothes appear including some traditional underwear that had been worn in Konoha, the fact is that she looked like a very pretty young woman from that village except for the fact that she wondered why she was wearing sandals when high heel shoes would make her look better.
"We are going to call this young lady Rachel so doesn't worry while I was taking care of the ritual my friend Sasuke was taking care of the memories and paperwork so every person in this entire universe will have the memories of Jean having a twin sister, even the people in this room and Jean's parents and sister, who obviously will know the truth. Now I don't know about you Sasuke but I could go for some ramen, 'cause after all this, I am feeling a little peckish."
As they went up to what seemed to be a school cafeteria Naruto walked over to the kitchen and began to wonder if he could have a little something to eat, to which Charles told him he could, after all, they had plenty of instant ramens apparently someone introduce the stuff to Logan and while he complains that it takes too damn long for something that is called instant.
Sasuke and Naruto simply asked if they could use raw ingredients to which Jean, Rachel, and Summer found it surprising that they asked that but Charles said that as long as they made enough for everyone, and so using shadow clones and speed they took off toward the massive restaurant-worthy kitchen and began to cook up a storm. The noodles were handmade, the vegetables cut, cleaned, and seasoned, and everything was done as Teuchi once would have done.
As they finished cooking the food and each of the clones took a tray of plates until they found that Silver Fox, Crimson Fox, and Jimmy had decided to see if they could raid the fridge as it were. So Sasuke's idea of making extra plates actually paid off as they placed the food in front of them, some were cheering in glee until Charles asked him why was he so happy. Logan looked at him and couldn't help but to tell him, "This is the good stuff, Ichiraku style ramen, dammit Naruto if you were going to make this stuff you could have called me, I haven't had this stuff in years, you are in for one hell of a treat Chuck."
As they ate their food they could see why Logan had such high praise for this dish, and Charles saw the way they cooks, meticulous, cautious, and precise, something that he would want in a physical education teacher, and from what he knows of Sasuke he had lived for hundreds of years like his friend, so he decided to offer Naruto and Sasuke a job, teaching at his school and when the situation called for it, to deal with certain troubling situations and troublemakers.
Naruto agreed to it immediately, but Sasuke asked if that includes a salary, living expenses, and medical, to which Charles laughed as he told him that of course it does, but what doe she need money for? Sasuke said that he would like to use it too shall we say improve the security of the school, and since this was all experimental stuff he would have to pay for it somehow. Charles agreed and told him that as soon as class started Naruto can be the new PE teacher and Sasuke could be the new history teacher at least as far as the public was aware, but he also wanted them to train their elite members, the X-Men.
They both had no reason to deny it, so they ate their meal and both decided to ask if there was any reason why the students also attend a local high school, Charles told him that as much as he would love to cover all the subjects he simply doesn't have enough people to teach all the classes, and he didn't want students to suffer.
"So it seems other than here we need to talk to the principal of that school since your school and that school work together. Very well, we shall take care of it this afternoon, we should have everything ready for us to even be able to teach at that school if everything goes as planned, and no, I will not use my techniques or try to force the principal to accept so stop grinning like that Jim."
Logan was quick to remind Naruto that he has said this before but never actually managed to do that, every time he tried to negotiate it would always end up in a brawl. Sasuke told Logan that is the reason why Naruto is not going alone. Silver Fox could see the wisdom in that decision but made Crimson Fox not happy that she couldn't go with them.
In the afternoon they went to the school and they knew who exactly they were going to meet, this was a woman they met long ago, and it was someone they knew they had to get to be on their side seeing that Erick was slowly becoming a tyrant in the making, they had to make her see reason, and that being on the side of the man Charles called Magneto was a terrible idea.
The two made it to the office and they were announced as her afternoon appointment, which she found surprising since according to her schedule she had no such appointment, until the two men walked into the office wearing clothes that made them look like they came from the past, old leather boots, rough pants, a brown shirt, and a bowler hat, the look was anything if not intentional it was supposed to make her remember them easier.
Both men walked over to her while one placed his hand on the desk immediately a flash of light was seen lighting the inside of the office for an instant, but it was enough to make her realize these two had just done something that she honestly had never seen before.
"Could you please drop the act Raven, we both know it is you, and put the gun back in your desk, that is no way to treat old friends." She looked at them both and told them she never had any friends that were into roleplaying as cowboys, Naruto found it rather funny, we were cowboys when we met, you remember us, you were a saloon girl back then, you used your name as Raven Darkhold. Now you don't need to worry about having Erick watch or even listen to us, everything he is watching or hearing is just an illusion that the privacy seal Naruto just placed on your office."
She slowly began to turn back to her real form, at least she made herself look like she was wearing some comfortable summer clothes as she sat down. "I know we haven't seen each other in twenty years, just to let you know we cured your lover's eyes two years ago and we are here to tell you that backing Magneto will only cause you pain, so join Xavier and the rest of us and we can make sure three of your children can have a better future."
For her to believe them she simply asked them a single question, what are their names, Sasuke took something from his pocket and it was four pictures of four babies, Mystique looked at them, "You sent us these pictures when they were born, and one when you adopted her, the two children who you had are Kurt and Vicky, currently adopted by a priest and go by the name of Wagner, and Risty Wilde your eldest daughter that you and Irene had using your blood and one of her egg's and apparently she is 19 years old, and refuse to work with Eric, she hasn't been seen supposedly since but she is alive I can promise you that, and your adopted daughter is a girl named Anna Marie, and she is currently with your lover Irene if you still don't believe us why don't you have her and Irene come and meet with us in a couple of days, that should make you see we are telling you the truth."
She had nothing to lose, but she asked them what if Irene found that they were lying, Naruto laughed and told her that would be useless, but if they lose this little bet, as he called it, she would win her weight in gold.
A couple of days later Irene and Anna came to meet these two supposed strangers until Irene saw who they were, and she tried to use her powers to see their future, and she couldn't. She had spent years training her powers since she regain the ability to see, and still, she couldn't see their future, and she remembered something that she or Raven never told anyone, Irene once asked them why she couldn't see them in the future, and Irene did ask the question again, and much like last time Sasuke told her it is because they are not from their timeline, the exact same answer and Raven remembered that her lover had told her to do anything they asked her to do if she wanted to avoid making her life into a tragedy.
Meanwhile, a clone of Naruto was flirting with Anna and she was enjoying quite a bit of it but unknown to her when she took his hand he place a special seal for him to travel to her whenever he wanted that way he could come to her aid in the future after that the Clone left and then poofed allowing Naruto to know it was time for them to leave leaving Raven alone.
That is when Raven decided to tell Magneto that she did as he asked and tried to find something about the strangers he met in the Baxter building, but she told him that sadly there is no information about them, it was like they came out of nowhere, Erick furious that Mystique his supposed best spy couldn't find a single thing about those men who pretended to be the people that saved him and his family from that death camp didn't have much patience and told her to leave and never return, he had no need for anyone that was useless to him since he found someone better a few days ago but he decided to let Mystique live for Old times sake.
Raven decided to pull a prank on Naruto and Sasuke and enrolled them as 17-year-olds instead of 15-year-olds. it has been a week since then and Naruto and Sasuke were both getting ready to pretend to be normal high school students, as it would happen the very day that they transfer into Babel High, the school was having a major football game.
