Episode 11: Class of the Titans
Hey there guys, gals, and non-binary pals! Tardispilot297 here, bringing you another new episode of Mega-Man: Robotic Hero. We are now at 3 episodes left for this current season and this is a very special episode for two important reasons.
First reason is that this episode features the very first returning villain from a past episode. And the second reason being… today happens to be my 27th birthday! Which means I still have three good years left in me before I'm officially an old man. Lol.
Speaking of celebration, it's time to announce the winner of this month's "Who's that Mega-Man Villain?" Contest. And the winner is…. Once again nobody! Well don't feel too bad, you can't get 'em all.
And now on with the show!
They say that as one door closes, another door opens. And what lies behind the door isn't always something good. For me it was the latter. It had been just a few hours after defeating Sayu and I was almost running on empty by the time I made it to school.
It also didn't help that we were taking the standardized test today. I never had any problems taking a test before but this time I had to fight just to stay awake. Which seemed to get harder and harder as the minutes rolled by. Until eventually my eyes became too heavy to keep open and closed as I laid my head down on the desk. And I wasn't the only one falling asleep. Because what I failed to notice was that the entire room was being filled with sleeping gas that knocked out everyone else.
A while later I started to wake up with my head spinning as I stood up. I looked around to see that I was in the school auditorium. I tried taking a step forward only to feel my leg caught on something. I looked down to see a chain strapped to my leg much to my shock and confusion. I reached down to try and pry it off when suddenly a spotlight shined down on me. I raised my arm to shield my eyes as a large screen rolled down over the stage. Suddenly the speakers sounded with a voice resonating from them. "Hello Xavier Light." The voice said with a tone that was slightly familiar to me. I looked at the screen to see an image of the last person I thought I'd ever see again. "Prepare to take your final exams." Gideon announced with an evil grin on his face.
I just couldn't believe what I was seeing. The last time I saw Gideon he was being transported to a juvenile detention center after using a giant robot to cause massive destruction. Now here he was on a screen wearing what appeared to be a white lab coat. "Gideon? What is this? I thought you were locked up in Juvie?" I asked, reaching down again to try to break the chain. Unfortunately the chain was tougher than it looked. "Let's just say that I was let out early for good behavior. And you can call me Dr. Gate now. It's time for you to take what I like to call the DATs, the Deadly Aptitude Tests. You'll have to think hard and think fast." Gideon explained laughing afterwards.
Once it was clear that the chain wouldn't break I looked back up and glared at Gideon. "You know I had my doubts concerning your sanity before Gideon but now it's abundantly clear that you have serious issues. This isn't funny." I told him. "Life isn't funny. It's punishingly difficult!" Gideon shouted at me. "All right, what's going on? Where is everyone?" I asked him. "The whole school is locked away in the gymnasium fast asleep. No one can help you, Xavier." He replied. I stood there shaking my head in disbelief. "This is crazy! Why are you doing this, Gideon?" I asked him. "Because you destroyed my life! My reputation, my chances with Alia. I was number one at this school until you arrived and ruined everything! You mocked me, humiliated me behind my back!" He accused me as he listed off my so-called crimes.
My confusion then changed over to annoyance. "Seriously? Is that how you justify trying to kill me with a giant robot?" I shot back. "Yes well I've since learned from my past mistakes. Like how foolish it was to try to deal with you through physical means." He stated. "Which is why this time I'm going to prove once and for all just how superior my intelligence is compared to yours." He finished. He went on to explain the rules of these DATs of his. Like how there was a set of five questions. And with every correct answer I would advance to the next test. "With all that being said, let the DATs begin!" Gideon declared.
The shackle on my leg suddenly opened and dropped off my leg. The screen then rose back up with the stage curtains being drawn to reveal someone chained to a metal pole. The spotlight moved to shine on them to reveal the person was Axel. He flinched at the bright light until his eyes adjusted to see me. "Rock!" He shouted. "Axel." I called back. I started running up to the stage and climbed up to go over to him. "Are you ok?" I asked him. "Well considering I woke up chained to a pole, I'm guessing not really." He said with an irritated tone in his voice. I stepped behind him to grab at his shackles. Unfortunately they were just like the shackle that was on my leg meaning they were too tough even for me to break.
Nearby a smaller screen turned on to show Gideon's face. "You know alot about technology Xavier given your family. But do you know it's history?" Gideon asked. Suddenly three large metal dishes lowered from the ceiling in the center of the auditorium with two of them aimed at one that was aimed at the stage. "What are those mirrors?" Axel asked. "Irradiated ones." Gideon answered as a few more lights turned on hitting two of the mirrors and directing the light to the middle mirror causing it to focus the light downward which started burning a line into the floor as it slowly moved toward the stage. It took me a few minutes to figure out what was happening. "A light amplified by stimulated emission of radiation. A laser!" I deduced. "In ancient Greece a man used the same type of mirrors to set fire to Roman ships. In 30 seconds, your fiery friend will literally be on fire unless you tell me who was that man who created the earliest laser." Gideon explained.
As the beam started to get closer Axel started to get nervous and fidget against the pole. "Ok, I know you said you didn't like history but you better remember that answer right now dude!" Axel shouted at me. I turned to the screen and glared at Gideon. "I thought this was supposed to be between you and me, Gideon? You can't do this." I told him. "Oh but I can." He replied with a sneer. The laser continued to slowly crawl towards Axel. I then tried to focus and think really hard on the answer. Normally I'd have no problem coming up with the answer but I was still so tired at that moment that it was a bit of a challenge.
I continued to try and focus as the laser got closer and closer. 'Come on Rock you know this.' I thought. The laser reached Axel's feet causing him to shout at me to hurry up. "Ok think. It was, uh- Oh, the name of Merlin's owl in that book, too. Um, Archa- Archimedes." I finally remembered. "It was Archimedes!" I quickly answered. A tone indicating a correct answer sounded as Axel's shackles released allowing him to jump out of the way of the laser. I went over to help him off the floor. "Axel, are you okay?" I asked him. "For now. This is like some kind of twisted horror movie sequel. Gideon's not just nuts, he's the whole bag of trail mix." Axel commented.
Gideon's voice once again sounded over the speakers. "Not bad. Although certainly cutting it close." He commented snickering to himself. I on the other hand wasn't finding any of this funny. "Alright that's it! I've had enough of this game. Come on Axel let's go." I said walking off the stage with Axel following. We made it to the door only to discover that it was locked. The large screen came back down behind us once again showing Gideon. "I'd rethink that if I were you." He told us.
We turned around to look at the screen. "Forfeit the game, you forfeit your lives. As well as the lives of your friends." He threatened as the screen changed to show Douglas, Bulk, Skull, and Alia all trapped. If I wasn't mad before I certainly was at that moment. "If anything happens to them, I'll-" I started to threaten. "Nothing will happen to them if your intellect can match mine, Xavier." Gideon told me. Axel glared at the screen with gritted teeth. "I swear Gideon, when this is over I'm totally going to kick your little psycho butt!" He shouted.
Gideon just sneered, ignoring Axel's threat. "On to the next question Mr. Light." Gideon stated. The screen changed again focusing on Douglas who was strapped to a round metal table. "Your friend, Douglas Brown, has a math problem. You need to solve it and push the button. You have 60 seconds." He explained. "Where is he?" I asked him. "His location can be found within the ratio of any circle circumference divided by its diameter. But if you find him, you better move double time. Let the test begin!" He finished starting the clock and activating a large buzzsaw that started to slowly lower itself down towards Douglas.
With time literally running out Axel and I had to both move and think fast if we were going to save Douglas. "We got to find him." I said. "Ok but how? I mean he's inside a circle?" Axel questioned. I went over Gideon's instructions in my head. "Gideon said that Douglas' location can be found in the ratio of any circle circumference divided by its diameter." I explained. It took me a few seconds before figuring out the answer. "Pie!" I declared. "Pie? That's, uh, 3.14." Axel added. "Room 314. Come on." I told him running towards the door as Axel followed with both of us charging and busting through the door.
We ran through the halls at top speed until we found the room we were looking for. I opened the door where we found Douglas with the saw lowering closer to him. He turned his head to look at us. We ran in to try and help him but he shouted at us to stop. Unfortunately it came too late as Axel's foot landed on a panel with a number on it triggering a saw blade to fire out of the wall. It would've gone right through his head if I hadn't grabbed his shirt collar and pulled him out of the way. We both looked at the blade sticking out of the other wall and looked over the floor to find it covered in number panels.
"The room is rigged." Douglas told us. "Well gee thanks for the heads up Douglas." Axel said to him.
I looked carefully at the floor numbers. If Douglas was supposed to be inside Pie then it only stood to reason that the panels on the floor would be the key to freeing Douglas. "Ok hang on Douglas, I'm gonna get you out of there." I figured the answer was to type out 3.14 on the floor so I jumped onto the first number. Only instead of a sound of accomplishment the panel uttered a loud buzzer triggering another saw blade to fire out of the wall at me. I leaped out of the way back to Axel. "I guess that would've been too easy. Come on, Rock think." I tried to wrap my head around this until I remembered Gideon's last words. 'But if you find him, you better move double time.' "Wait. Double time, double Pie! Pie squared is 9.869." I said. "Rock, whatever it is you're gonna do, I advise you to do it now!" Douglas shouted as the blade got closer with the timer reaching 10 seconds.
I quickly jumped forward and typed out the answer on the floor. After stepping on the final panel I quickly pushed the button shutting off the saw blade. The restraints on Douglas then released allowing him to sit up away from the saw blade. "You ok Douglas?" I asked as I helped him up. "I think my whole life just flashed before my eyes." He said standing up. We both looked over at the timer to see it had stopped at 3.14 seconds. Kinda ironic when you think about it.
A nearby screen activated showing Gideon's slightly annoyed expression. "Well, you figured it out. Congratulations, Light. That's two correct answers. You've just earned yourself a life line. I always say true success should be rewarded. You get to ask one of your friends for help on one single question. I suggest you use it wisely, Xavier." He instructed. "You're completely mad, Gideon." I told him. "Mad? "All the best people are mad," Lewis Caroll. Madness is what inferior minds like yours label the superior thinker!" Gideon shouted, pushing a button on the keyboard in front of him. Suddenly the wall opened up to reveal another door. "Enter, Xavier. For one of your hardest classes yet!" He said.
The three of us walked through the door entering another hall. "I wish I could change into my armor." I whispered to them. "Forget the armor, bro." Axel whispered back. "Indeed. Right now, we need Xavier Light." Douglas added. We continued walking down the hall until we came across a marked door. We stepped through to find both Skull and Bulk tied to chairs with machines strapped to their heads. "Whoa." Axel exclaimed. "Are you both alright?" Douglas asked. "Uh, is this some kind of new form of detention? Because I swear I didn't cheat off of Douglas' math test." Bulk said. Another screen came on nearby above them showing Gideon's face. "Harold 'Bulk' Hogan and Stanley 'Skull' Fenton. So called students at Silicon High for one reason. They can both put a ball through a hoop." Gideon started speaking as the machines started to power up.
Bulk and Skull struggled to break free to no avail. "Don't worry guys, we're gonna get you out of there." Axel told them. "Let's see what you know about philosophy, Xavier." Gideon stated. Philosophy. Wouldn't be so bad if it didn't happen to be my second worst subject. "'Cogito ergo sum, I think therefore I am.' Give me a wrong answer and the apes in the chairs will stop thinking. Permanently!" Gideon declared. "Uh. I know I don't have the biggest brain, but I kind of like having it." Bulk said. "Who was it that made the statement, 'I think therefore I am.'" Gideon asked with a timer appearing in the corner of the screen counting down from 15 seconds. 'Ok uh, I know this. I know this. Um. French guy. Uh. Think, Rock, think!' I thought quickly with the timer reaching 5 seconds. Then suddenly I remembered something about science. "Times up, Xavier!" Gideon shouted as the countdown reached 3 seconds. I quickly turned to the screen pointing my index finger at Gideon. "René Descartes!" I answered. The timer stopped at 1.5 seconds with a green check appearing in the other corner of the screen.
Gideon looked at me in slight surprise. "He also happened to be a brilliant physicist, too." I told him, crossing my arms over my chest. The restraints holding both Bulk and Skull released and they both stood up to run over and give Axel and Douglas each a hug. "Aw thanks you guys." Bulk said. "Yeah we owe you big time." Skull added before he and Bulk turned to me for a group hug. "Dude forget Mega-Man, you are my all time favorite hero!" Bulk said. Skull nodded in agreement as they eventually let me go.
Gideon on the other hand was feeling less than pleased that I had managed to pass 3 of his so called tests. "It just doesn't seem possible! How could he have gotten those answers?" He asked himself, pacing back and forth in front of the computer. He took a deep breath and started to calm down while smoothing his hair back. "It's fine, it's fine, I'm still in control of the situation. Besides, there's still two questions left." He said, turning back to the screen.
Meanwhile it felt like I was starting to run on empty as I hunched myself against the closest wall to catch my breath. "Rock, you ok?" Axel asked me. "I'm just spent. Completely exhausted." I replied. "Just hang on a little longer. We'll get out of this." Douglas told me. The screen then turned back on showing Gideon's face. "Hello, Xavier. You've nearly completed the DATs. Two more right answers and you will have won the game and your freedom." Gideon announced. I stood up and tried putting up a brave face. "Oh yeah? Well bring it on!" I challenged him.
The screen image then changed to show Alia trapped inside a glass tube. "Things sadly didn't work out for us. And I personally find that 'Friendship is certainly the finest balm for the pangs of disappointed love,' Jane Austin." Gideon said. Watching Alia once again being at the mercy of this psycho really pushed me to the edge. "Okay, enough with the quotes already, emo Gate. Where is Alia?" I demanded. "A C-note earns you her location." Was the only answer Gideon gave. "A C-note? What does he want money for?" Axel asked. "That's gotta be chump change for you, Rock." Skull commented. "Except that isn't Gideon's style." I told him. "Perhaps It's a clue." Douglas hypothesized. 'C-note, C-note' that word continued to swim around in my head like a fish in a bowl. Until finally it hit me. "He means a musical note." I said. "The music room!" All three of us said at the sametime. We then stormed out of the room and ran down the halls until we made it to the music room.
Inside we found Alia inside her glass cage with a machine on the top and bottom. "Get me out of here!" She shouted through the glass. "Take it easy, Alia. I'll have you out in a second." I told her before grabbing a chair to smash the glass. Unfortunately the chair barely even left a scratch on its surface. "What's going on?" She asked. A large screen rolled down over the white board and projected Gideon's smirking face. "I believe it was Nietzsche who once said, 'Without music, life would be a mistake.' So, Light, make no mistake." Gideon explained. Of course Gideon would end up giving me something I was worse at than philosophy, classical music.
As if that wasn't bad enough, suddenly the tube started filling up from the top with gas. Alia looked up in fear as she started to cough. "You'll have 20 seconds to identify the following musical piece before the gas inside the chamber fills the fake blonde's lungs and then her song ends." Gideon explained. Alia continued to cough as the gas cloud rose up to her knees. "Rock, I can't breathe." Alia said between coughs. Just then a set of speakers started to emit sounds of music playing. "Hold on, Alia." I told her as I tried to focus on the music. As hard as I tried I just couldn't name the piece. "Rock, please hurry. I'm starting to feel a little lightheaded." Alia pleaded. The timer on the screen reached 15 seconds with Gideon smiling as he watched me struggle to answer the question.
Finally I had no choice but to admit that I didn't know the answer. Until suddenly I remembered that Gideon had given me a lifeline. "Wait, I wanna use a lifeline." I told him. "Very well then. Choose wisely, the clock is ticking." Gideon told me. I turned to look over the group. Axel and Douglas both raised their arms and shook their heads while Bulk and Skull just stood there waving and smiling. Eventually I made my decision. "I choose…..Bulk." I said pointing my finger at him. Everyone looked at me with surprise and shock including Gideon who proceeded to burst out laughing. Alia on the other hand was less than pleased. "Bulk? BULK!? Great, I'm doomed." She said, continuing to cough as the gas cloud reached her neck.
As the timer reached 5 seconds all eyes were on Bulk as he closed his eyes listening to the music. The gas cloud just barely reached Alia's chin as time was about to run out. "Beethoven's symphony number three." Bulk started shocking everyone. "The funeral march, second movement." He finished high fiving Skull standing next to him. Gideon sat there in complete shock and awe. "The answer is… correct." He admitted. The gas vented out of the tube and the locks released letting Alia out. "You did it! Oh, thank you, guys." She said hugging each one of us. I turned to Gideon who was still in shock. "Bet your calculations didn't include the fact that Bulk's mom is a concert cellist." I informed him. "Dude, Beethoven's the man." Bulk said, walking up to me for a fist bump.
Meanwhile Gideon looked ready to blow his stack as his pupils started to dilate and a growl formed at the back of his throat. And if I didn't know any better I could've sworn that the image on the screen glitched a little. Until finally it steadied itself with Gideon glaring at me. "Nice job, Mr. Light. Commendable. But I like to call this final question, 'The elimination round.'" He declared. "Fine, let's end this." I told him. "A physics question. This one should be easy for you, Xavier." Gideon explained. "Sweet. Let's do this." I replied. Inside the glass chamber the bottom opened up to reveal a small bomb coming up. "In one minute that bomb will explode. Eradicating the entire east wing of Silicon High unless you answer the question." Gideon instructed. "What is the heaviest possible stable or meta-stable nucleus?" He asked, causing both me and Douglas to look at him in shock.
I shook my head in disbelief. "But that's not fair. I can't answer it!" I told him. "Why not?" Alia asked. "Because there is no answer in known physics!" Douglas explained. "The little creep cheated!" Axel shouted. "'The truly imaginative are never otherwise than analytic,' Edgar Allen Poe. Farwell, Xavier." Gideon said before the screen went dark. The bomb timer then started counting down from 60 seconds. I turned to look at everyone who were just as nervous as I was. "What do we do? WHAT DO WE DO?" Skull shouted, shaking Bulk's shoulders. "Ok calm down, let's just think." I said, trying to reassure him. Douglas then looked at the bomb and quickly got an idea.
He then asked all of us to empty our pockets. We each took out a few random objects which Douglas carefully looked over. He took notice of the pack of gum Axel had, the hair pins that Alia had, and the small pair of clippers Skull had. "Dude, please tell us this means you have a plan?" Axel pleaded. "More like an improvisation. Axel, start chewing that gum, Rock I'll need your help." He instructed. We went over to the bomb where we both hid the bomb from view of the others. Once he knew it was clear Douglas nodded for me to remove the casing with my bare hands. Thankfully the casing wasn't too tough to remove. After I placed it to the side Douglas called over to Alia to hand over the hairpin.
He used it to open up a smaller compartment of the bomb revealing the explosive trigger and wiring inside. "OK. Gum, please." He asked Axel who handed him the wad of chewed gum. "If I'm right the gum will ground the circuits so it won't trigger the bomb when I do this." Douglas explained. He placed the gum against the bomb circuits as he carefully used the pin to raise up one of the wires. The timer reached the 5 second mark when Douglas asked Skull for the clippers. He then slowly and carefully brought the clippers to the wire as the countdown reached 3 seconds. Douglas took a deep breath before closing his eyes and cutting the wire. Everyone gasped and braced themselves waiting for the explosion.
When nothing happened we all opened our eyes to see the timer stopped at 0.1 seconds. Douglas took one look at the timer and let out a loud sigh. "Would someone kindly splash some cold water on me please?" He asked with a relaxed smile. We all cheered and went up to Douglas to each congratulate him for his quick thinking.
Back with Gideon he sat quietly in his chair expecting to hear the sound of a loud explosion. The only problem was no such sound came effectively confusing him. "Wh-where's my explosion? Where is my glorious comeuppance!?" He asked. He turned back to the computer and accessed a camera inside the music room. The screen then showed all of us with the bomb having been disarmed. This caused him to stand up in surprise mixed with rage. "What? WHAT!?" He shouted, causing the lights in the room to flicker before exploding into pieces.
Back in the halls Bulk managed to use his brute strength to bust open the locked doors allowing us to make our escape. We made it to some stairs when I told everyone that there was a fire alarm at the other end of the hall and that I would catch up. Bulk and Skull just shrugged it off while Alia, Douglas, and Axel just looked at me and nodded. We split up with me running down the hall and getting out of sight so I could transform.
Gideon on the other hand finally hit his breaking point and punched the computer screen, smashing it to pieces. "THAT'S IT! I'M THROUGH PLAYING AROUND!" He shouted turning around to walk out of the room while he adjusted his lab coat. The others ran up the stairs to the second floor. "Come on. We can get out through the rooftop fire es-" Alia said before spotting Gideon standing in the way glaring at them. After I finished transforming I hit the fire alarm and ran off to find the others.
Meanwhile Gideon just smirked as he made his way towards everyone. "I got this." Axel said charging with his fist raised to try and punch Gideon in the face. However his fist stopped short just a few inches away from Gideon's face before being thrown by an invisible force into some nearby lockers. Gideon continued walking forward as Bulk and Skull stood in front of Douglas and Alia protecting them. "Ok look, Dude. Don't make us have to hurt you." Bulk said, cracking his knuckles. As Gideon stepped closer Bulk and Skull charged at him when they suddenly began to float off the ground and launched down the hall near Axel on the floor. "I wouldn't dream of it." Gideon mocked them before turning back to Douglas and Alia.
Douglas looked at him nervously. "Alright now calm down Gideon. I'm sure we can settle this in a civilized manner." Douglas tried to reason with him before being launched up into the ceiling by an invisible hand and falling down onto the floor. Gideon then turned to Alia who backed up against a wall looking scared. "Gideon, please. You don't have to do this." She pleaded. "Oh but I do. And whether you believe me or not I really hate to do this to you. I always did like you, Alia." He confessed with his eyes slightly glowing as the lights started to flicker. Suddenly he was tackled from the side by me and tossed up the other hall hitting a wall.
He looked up at me walking up to him in surprise. "You again?!" He asked me. "I'm not gonna hurt you. I just want you to come along quietly." I told him, offering a hand to him. Gideon just glared at me with a hateful scowl. "Not this time. I won't allow you to get in my way again." He said with his eyes glowing again. Suddenly it felt like a large invisible truck hit me at a hundred miles an hour and sent me flying into a wall leaving a small crater in it. I stood back up to see Gideon float off the floor as a set of lockers became ripped off the wall and flung at me like a set of darts. I rolled out of the way to dodge and stood back up to face Gideon who just floated toward me with his eyes glowing.
I looked at him with surprise until I felt an invisible hand grab me tightly and lift me up to face Gideon. Suddenly it was as if everything made sense to me. "What happened that night on the pier, it changed you. Gave you some kind of psycho kinetic ability." I deduced. "A gift from my good friend, The Mechaniloid. Now I'm smarter and stronger." He declared before tossing me down the hall through a wall. I stood back up only to get kicked in the face by Gideon. I crashed into some lockers and looked up just in time to dodge Gideon's fist that ended up leaving a sizable dent in the metal. I backed up a bit to try and throw a punch of my own. Instead it ended up getting caught by Gideon who proceeded to twist my arm a little and throw a punch of his own.
The force of the attack sent me through several more walls until I ended up outside. Gideon flew through holes after me and floated up in the air raising his hand up slightly. Nearby the school flagpole shuddered until it broke off and lifted up in the air. I got back up off the ground and looked over at Gideon who just smirked and flicked his wrist. Next thing I knew I ended up getting smacked in the back by the flagpole and sent flying into a parked car. Gideon waved his hand again prompting the flagpole to fly at me again with the intent to impale me with it.
I quickly dodge rolled out of the way with the flagpole embedding itself into the car and causing it to explode. Gideon floated over toward me and raised both hands to drag the burning wreckage across the ground right towards me. I started running away from it only for it to pick up speed as it continued to chase after me. I then quickly turned around and aimed my cannon arm at it. I fired a shot destroying the wreck with flaming debris flying everywhere. I raised my arms to shield myself from the smaller pieces flying at me. "You know what I learned in Juvie Mega-Man?" I heard Gideon ask me as I looked back over at him. "You don't kick a man when he's down." He started as he raised his hand at the circular sign on the school decorated with the letters S & H.
Suddenly the sign seemed to break itself free from the school and floated over to Gideon who had his hand raised above him. "You crush him!" Gideon finished as he was about to bring his hand down as if he were giving a command to the large sign floating above him. I quickly fired another shot at the sign blasting it to pieces with Gideon crying out trying to shield himself from the falling debris. I then leaped up tackling him to the ground and putting him in a headlock from behind. Gideon struggled to break free while his eyes started to glow again. "Get off of me!" He shouted giving off a strange aura as I was thrown off him like a ragdoll.
Suddenly a large gust of wind began to swirl around him like a small tornado. Within seconds it grew to encompass the entire area around us tossing cars and uprooting a few nearby trees. One of which was flying right at him from behind. Against my better judgment I tried to warn him to look out. He turned around but was too late to notice the large tree flying at him and crashing into him. Gideon was sent flying through the air before falling onto the stairs unconscious. The wind died down as everything started to calm down. I looked over to see Alia and the guys walking out to see what happened. We all gathered around Gideon who laid on the ground unconscious.
Some time later the police had arrived with the rest of the school having been let out of the gymnasium. After each of us gave a statement about what happened, Me, Douglas and Axel watched as Alia hugged her dad who was relieved to see her safe. I then looked over at Gideon being put in the back of a police van with a special helmet on his head to nullify his abilities. And despite everything he had done, a part of me couldn't help but feel sorry for him. He had such a brilliant mind and yet he allowed his arrogance and pride to cloud his judgment and twist his ambition into what he was at that moment.
Before the van doors closed Gideon shot a quick glance over to me and shouted at me. "This isn't over, Xavier Light. You and Mega-Man will pay dearly for this. 'If it will feed nothing else, it will feed my revenge,' William Shakespeare!" Gideon shouted as the doors closed and the van drove away. As for me and the guys we were each given permission to go home along with the rest of the school. We grabbed our bikes and each rode home splitting up along the way. By the time I made it home I saw that Dr. Cain's car was in our driveway. I went to put away my bike in the garage and entered the house announcing to Dad and Auto that I was home.
Dad called me into the living room where I walked in to find him and Auto along with Dr. Cain and to my surprise Dr. Lalinde. As soon as she saw me she looked like she was on the verge of breaking out into tears as she stood up and slowly walked up to me wrapping her arms around me in a hug. I looked over questioningly at Dad. "Dad, what's going on?" I asked him. Dad just looked away from me as Dr. Lalinde placed her hands on my shoulders looking me in the eyes. "Don't you recognize me Xavier?" She asked me. I looked at her and what she said next shook me to my very core. "It's me sweetheart, It's your mother." She told me as I stood there staring in complete shock.
