Author Note: Hi, this will be me answering questions from my dear readers. So don't forget to check another author's note at the end of the chapter.

Randomguy0110100100110: I am trying out a new style of writing, so instead of following the norms I want to try something else. This is my first time writing my character and using the Honkai Impact 3rd world as its base. To answer your question, I am still debating whether I should add Yae into the pairing, she will be in the story, yes but we will see whether I am going to pair her with Kent or not. And to answer your other question, this is the main timeline of Honkai's impact, since the Imaginary Tree is destroyed means the Will of Honkai created a new tree of life, hence the reason why there is the will of life (the core that can create lives the way the deity intended to), Kent was about to achieve that but failed, so here is a world based on the desire of both Kent and the Goddess of Honkai, Prometheus just executed the final plan. What happened to the living beings that exist in the bubble universe? The lower beings like humans perished, whilst the higher ones still exist…this is an important part of the story, so I will not tell anything more than that. If you have any more questions, please go ahead, and ask them.

Conkistador159: Sorry mate, I forgot to answer your suggestions in the previous chapter. So, I will answer them now; thank you for the suggestion of adding more words for each chapter and unfortunately, I do not plan on doing that since I plan to keep it between 2000 and 3000 per chapter, why does that? So, I can consistently publish the chapter for each week and the most I would leave unpublished is probably 3 weeks at most. Regarding the publication date, I will keep that in mind and will probably do that in future chapters.

Silvercrow: Thank you so much for the review! Please review more so I will get more excited to write new chapters :D

Hakuryukou79: Cheers! If possible, please review more for me :D

: Well, I have made up my mind to make it Kent x Elysia x Mei x Kiana x Eden x Yae (?), and I don't know what's going on with Kiana but in my eyes, she considers Mei more like the best friends, sister-like rather than lovers? But those are my views on her relationship with Mei since I do not know her other lore (GGZ, manga, etc.)

To my other readers, thank you for your support! I hope to hear more reviews from everyone enjoying reading this fic!

Chapter 5:

The Churned of Fates

Banda Aceh, located on the Northwest tip of Indonesia, is the capital and the largest city in the province of Aceh, Indonesia. A grand city with spectacular sights and its historical heritage was also known as the port of Mecca or the Porch of Mecca housing a total of 220.000 population, with Islam being the main major religion and influence in power. It is a religious city with its law, a special region within the Indonesian peninsula and above all the hometown he lives in until reaching adulthood.

The city was once struck by a great Impact that caused the 2004 Tsunami, flooding almost every corner of the city, and destruction occurred everywhere, taking hundreds of thousands of lives, and destroying a flourished civilization; leaving behind nothing but remnants of the past that was buried by the great giant waves.

He closed his eyes in dismay after reading through the words engraved on monuments at the Tsunami Museum that brought hundreds of memories. To someone like him…time has no merits, fleeting vestiges that flow through him like a river that left behind no impact whatsoever yet for some reason his heart was swallowed by great sorrow, and his lips trembled in angst.

He realized since the beginning of his awoken; that the stream of time he seeks and desired was defiled by the Goddess of Honkai; no matter how many times he looked through it, his body has been corrupted by her will, and the Era he was meant to be in ceasing from existence.

A fragment is all that you became, and everlasting time will swallow everything.

Was she right from the very beginning?

Was there truly no hope...?

In this forsaken world…is it utterly impossible to change the world for the better?

A world without Honkai…is the only thing he seeks but above all…a world without her seems utterly meaningless and a waste of time.

He traversed time and space, defeating an impossible foe; the Herrscher of the End, trapping her alongside him in a singularity that altered her view of humanity to the Divine battle between him and the being that considered herself as a God. In the end…he died a meaningless death and yet despite all that he went back to the past.

The past brought so many questions and yet few answers.

This might be his hometown, but he should not be here this early…he clenched his mouth tightly, quenching his frustration as the regressed man-to-teenager swallowed his anger. Hopefully…there are no major events that will cause more destruction to the city since the era he lives in feels more peaceful compared to his.'

Kent diverted his attention away from the monument, and the sound of artificial waves crashed onto his ears, entering a different room he saw the artificial waterfall streaming down the wall before taking notes of the small monuments circling the inside like a whirlpool, each monument engraved a country flag that contributes to the reconstruction of the fallen city.

He walked through it in silence until he saw a familiar name.

The City of Nagazora.

The man was immersed in himself for a moment, seemingly lost within the vestiges of time until someone crashed onto him. The last MANTIS sensed the danger approached and reacted quickly by catching the person with ease, sending the tumbling young man a genuine smile.

"Careful there," Kent said, his words lingered with kindness yet within that smile the young man noticed it was filled with anger.

"Sorry about that." The young man spoke, apologizing to him by casting his gaze down in sheer embarrassment. Kent took note of his appearance, the good-looking young man across him was slightly taller than him with a light-tanned slender body and black-colored buzzcut hair. Like himself, the person was wearing a matching light blue school uniform, with black pants and matching-colored shoes. "The name's Hans Bamantara. I am from class X-2 and you are?"

"Kent Azhar…X-3" He replied, watching the young man named Hans scrambling away whilst the dimming sound of people snickering could be heard in the background.

Like in most countries, bullying does exist even in here too.

'Guess religion has nothing to do with that, huh' He thought in sheer amusement, deciding to ignore them and continue his walk within the museum. When the school trip was over, he was back in his class, gazing out to the window, he silently watches the cars and motorbikes passing by, enjoying the fleeting moment; even if it was just for a while…he wishes this will never end.

Once again by himself, he closed his eyes and listened to the conversation occurring inside the classroom. Countless conversation was being held, and most of them were not important until one caught his ears. A tour program was being talked around, a secretive talk between the friend's circle…something he realized he will never be a part of.

Since his classmates treated him like an outcast.

Kent listened carefully, taking notes of everything that spewed out of the person's lips. They were having a serious conversation for but a moment until their voice changed to those of amusement, hearing his name being mocked by them, followed by a burst of laughter that filled the entire class.

Yet despite all that, he feels neither anger nor sadness…only pity.

It is just how it is, no matter the era, no matter the beliefs…a person will hate someone without reason but to fill their thirst for entertainment and quenched the feeling of loathing and jealousy in their heart. Glancing over them, he met their gaze, and the person that gaze back at him glared.

Kent saw him walking towards his table, ignoring the laughter of his friends, and approaching him…menacingly. He was taller, with a bulky build and tan skin. But that means nothing in the eyes of someone that has experienced it all.

Moments like these… feel like a dream that just passed by as quickly as the changing seasons.

"What are you looking at huh?" the person shouted in furry, eyes glaring dagger whilst Kent remained calm and silent. Perhaps he was enjoying these moments, pondering for a while about the way he could diffuse the situation; without making a scene for himself.

"Woahh, woahh calm down Khalil, the teacher is on her way to class."

Or he could just let the flow do as it pleases.

Kent tilted his head to the side, looking at the source of the voice, noticing the tall and respectable young man intervened before things could escalate even further.

Khalil frowned, before gritting his teeth and glaring at him in frustration. "You got lucky today, punk!" he screeched before walking back to his seat.

Kent was acting oblivious to the threat and sends the person beside him gratitude.

"Thanks, Adama."

Adama sighed, quite confused and curious; his friend changed, it was obvious, especially from the way he acts nowadays, the changes happened a week ago. Kent was known as someone overweight, though not that fat, but to see him losing those weights within a week was impressive, what is even more impressive is the way he acts and handles schoolwork.

He was smarter and more mature.

"Don't mention it, Kent."

The class continues after that and ends with the sound of the school bell. The students dispersed, rushing out of their classroom in a hurry, excited to get home as fast as possible. When he walked out, Adama was ahead of him. the taller teenager glanced at him before giving him a handbill, "Apparently everyone in school trying to hide this from you."

Kent read the paper.

Inviting the World to the M.E Corp; a study tour for the students and teacher; six months exchange program.

"Interested in going?"

Kent does not hesitate to answer.

"Yeah."

2013. 8. 10

He read the date on his smartphone and exited the classroom to see the result.

The school board was crowded with school students, and the noises filled the whole area.

Today is the day for the result, he brushed through the students and read the school news; after all, eight students will be qualified and there are hundreds of students here, so not everyone might get the chance to be accepted into the program.

Kent saw his name; he was the first to be accepted with the highest scores compares to the other students. The MANTIS saw some familiar names but decided to ignore them, this was big news after all and in the end, there is no avoiding it.

He must make the call and inform his father.

Brushing through the crowded space once again, Kent left the site and went into a less crowded place, taking out his phone he dialed his father, the sound of ringing reverberating in his ears seemed like a millennium has passed he waited with his mouth clenched tight. The sound of the ringing seemingly continues for eternity, on and on until he heard the receiving end answer his call.

"What is it, son?"

Hearing his old man's voice after millions of years has passed brought his body to a tremor, his lips quivering in great angst whilst his heart continues to beat faster, his mouth opened and yet no words came out, Kent's breath hitched whilst his mind went back to that time, to the time of his father death.

He was having a mental breakdown, and no words could describe his sorrow, the end receiver was worried and anxious, and he could hear his father's voice calling out for his name whilst on his side, he was struggling to breathe properly. Kent clenched his shirt, frustrated with himself yet at the same time he was grieving, tears flowing down his eyes and his mouth trembling.

Again, he tried to speak yet nothing came out.

He was losing air and he was struggling to remain calm; as anxiety took over him, golden particles surrounded his body, and the power radiating within him calms his mind and suppressed his anxiety down.

"Son!? What's wrong!?

"D-dad," He stuttered, his voice was shallow and shaky, and he breathed out in pain of sorrow. "I'm…I'm sorry."

At the end of the call all he managed to say was an apology, and he ended the call before looking down at his smartphone and staring at the screen in sadness; his father called back, not once but many times and he could only watch in utter defeat.

Kent left the school ground leaving behind nothing but a particle of golden energy that lingers behind.

He was back at home, in his room he stares at the family photo on the wall, staring at his mother, his father, and his siblings, a rush of memories entered his head, leaving him with nothing but sadness. At the end of time, he was all alone with only the darkness, the pain of the past has long caused his body to feel numb to the pain of losing those he loves dearly but now back in the past every time he looked either the family photo or hearing his family voices brought nothing but grieves.

His eyes glistened in sadness as he stares at the picture before diving into his bed and spending the rest of the day staring at the sun-kissed colored ceilings. His thoughts were clouded by exhaustion as he closed his eyes and fell into a blissful sleep.

Time goes by quickly and the week went by, today was Monday and the school principal was preparing to send them off, at the airport he made sure nothing was left behind. Despite a week having gone by Kent has not had the heart to dial back his father, instead, he left some amounts of the money behind. He was thankful he does not have to see his family yet now since his mother and siblings were out of town and his father was still immersed in his research oversea.

Or else, he would have another mental breakdown

Nonetheless, the weeks he spends time with was with his uncle. His uncle was a greedy and money-garb lover yet that does not take away his kindness and caring.

And at the end of the day, they were still family he cherished greatly.

But he could not avoid this forever, and one day he must face his past; for now, he set his sight on Nagazora City, hopefully, he could see Mei and get things back on the right track. She is the brain of the Flame-Chaser after all.

Kent's train of thought was interrupted when he saw Adama calling out his name, and sitting beside him was Fauzi, a tall and skinny young man with short hair; overall, another friend was one of his friends that he has forgotten about.

They were talking and laughing as they waited for the gate to open. Before take-off the school held a memorial photo shoot, joining his classmates he stares at the camera with a smile, and the photo was taken.

Afterward, the gate was opened, and they entered the plane, staring through the window he gazes at the city of Banda Aceh, a spectacular sight entered his vision, it might not be a metropolitan city like the Capital of Indonesia, but it still has its uniqueness and beauty.

He closed his eyes and allowed his mind to be at ease, and rest.

It was a long journey, transiting in Kuala Lumpur before flying towards Japan. The plane flew from Narita Airport to the south of Japan, eventually touching down at the airport of Nagazora. The sight of the metropolitan city was still as fresh as yesterday, despite it having been many years since he set his feet here. He could hear the gasps of astonishment from everywhere around him whilst he remained silent and halted his steps when he saw the news all over the screen at the airport.

The news hit him hard.

Ryoma Raiden was arrested by local authorization and was held responsible for money laundering.

"What?" He spoke in disbelief and confusion, this never happened…even in his timeline such an event never occurred. His thoughts however unconsciously went to Mei and could not help but be worried. Despite their differences, one fact remained the same, he still cares about her…at the end of her life he was there to ease her pain and watch her accept her death.

Was this the butterfly effect?

He has not done anything great to cause sudden alteration to the events that will happen sometime in the future…no, he did.

His defeat and the will passed down to the will of life were not his but the Goddess of Honkai.

He clenched his hand.

How frustrating.

There is nothing he could do but prepare for the worse that is yet to come.

But seeing all these changes he could not help but ponder to himself, what happens to the other flame-chasers? Are they still alive…or cease existence? His thought went to the image of Elysia as he gritted his teeth.

The fate of Raiden Mei is different from the Mei of his era, and Elysia…

He hates the thought of it, but…

She might not even exist in this current era.

Author Note: Hi! I decided to post this chapter much earlier than I intended but compared to the previous chapter; it is much shorter! Nonetheless, here is the fifth chapter and I hope you guys like it! I decided to put a real city and wrote it as best as I could…to represent the actual city, if you have not seen it go check it out; Banda Aceh is a beautiful city that was once struck by a Tsunami happened in 2004, there are also cities like Sabang that put Bali's beaches to shame…personally, those are my own opinions, so I apologize if I offended anyone from Bali. And the only problem for some people might be the Syariah law implemented in the special region of Banda Aceh, so most tourists might feel restricted by it and dislike it. But yeah, like Kakashi-sensei once said look underneath and see for yourself what an Islamic region's laws are like; if you do not break them, why afraid of the punishment? Enough of me rumbling and tell me what you think regarding this chapter. Did you like it or perhaps you hated it? I hope to hear more interaction from my readers and do not forget to drop by a favorite and a follow.

Oh, before that, I plan to make a Naruto x Genshin Impact fic. Drop by a comment and give me some suggestions on whom I should pair Naruto with. I am thinking of adding Lumine, probably Ei, and Eula…to the harem pairing. Drop by your thoughts regarding this upcoming project! See you in my next update!
