Lugia howled and 4 whirlpools flew at them. The Digimon backed away. "Flashy Boss Punch!" BanchoLeomon leapt at it, but Lugia spread it's wings and unleashed a powerful blast of wind that blew him back to the ship.
Pichu shot a bolt from Staraptor's back as they flew by. A Hydro Pump fired from Lugia's mouth and traced after them as they flew around. When it noticed Ben and Summer were looping their Stylers around it, it glared at them and shot a Hyper Beam. Staraptor rammed into it's head with Brave Bird tilting it slightly. The beam tore through the water at the left of the ship, nearly making it tip over. "Yikes!" One of the Pinchers yelped.
"If one of those hits The Union, we're sunk!" Murph said. "Guys, end this as fast as you can!"
Ben drew a Guardian Sign. "There is one Pokemon that we know for a fact can stand up to Lugia. Go Guardian Sign! Ho-oh, come forth!"
The sky glittered gold. Everyone looked up as a rainbow formed in the sky. From it, the majestic Pokemon descended. "Shaoooh!"
Lugia's gaze was fixated on Ho-oh as it descended. It glared at it and howled. "Gyaaas!" It shot more whirlpools at Ho-oh. Ho-oh dodged them and rammed into it, slamming its talons into it and pushing it into the water. Lugia got up and flew overhead. It shot a storm of purple spheres that rained down towards Ho-oh. Ho-oh shot fire from its mouth. Most of them were blocked but one got around the flames and Ho-oh and went towards the ship.
"Summer!" Ben rushed in front of his partner, took out the Weaver of light, and batted it into the ocean.
Lugia's eyes widened as it saw the relic. It stared at it. Then Ho-oh again. And then glared at Ben. A white light formed in its mouth.
"Ho-oh, watch out!" Ben warned. "Looks like Lugia's about to do something big!"
Amis looked closely. "Ben, it's not Ho-oh it's aiming for!"
"Huh?"
Lugia Shot a Aeroblast at the Union. Its specific target…was Ben.
"We're all doomed!" one of the Pinchers yelled.
Rosmeon flew up towards the blast. "Rosemon!?" Ami yelled.
"Rune Forrest!" Rosemon glowed green as she charged right into the attack. There was an explosion of green light and wind. Palmon fell back towards the ship.
"Palmon!" Ami caught her as she fell.
"Lugia looks furious all the sudden!" BanchoLeomon said. "What happened?!"
Takumi put it together. "Ho-oh…the Weaver of Light! Lugia must see Ben as a mortal enemy because he has the same Pokemon and weapon as Ravio!"
"A thousand years seems like a ridiculously long tome to hold a grudge." Summer said.
"Not all grudges subside over time. Some…only grow stronger."
Lugia shot a Hydro Pump and Ho-oh that made it fall. Everyone yelped as it went towards The Union, but it stopped itself right before it could crash into them. Lugia howled in fury as it swooped towards them. "Oh great." Ben murmured. "I think I just got us in bigger trouble."
"Dark Roar!" A black orb hit it from behind.
"What was that?!" Blue Eyes asked.
Murph looked at the sky. "Hey…someone's coming this way!"
Takumi looked up. It was a man riding his Digimon. "Darkdramon! And Arata!"
Darkdramon landed on the deck and Arata climbed off it. "Hey guys, got the story from Kyoko. What'd I miss?"
"Sabios' former pet mistaking Ben for Ravio." Ami replied.
Lugia howled and taller whirlpools rose up everywhere around the Union. "We've got to stop it now!" Ben said. "It's not just the Union, but if this storm keeps up, areas could flood in Oblivia!"
"Of course." Darkcramon groaned. "Just wouldn't be a normal day if we weren't fighting for Oblivia."
BanhoLeomon stepped forward. "No matter. We beat Eternalmon, we'll beat this thing."
Arata nudged Takumi. "Well then, you ready?"
Takumi smiled. "Yeah! As long as we work together we can topple anything that comes our way!" His goggles and Arata's Digivice started glowing. "Huh?"
BanchoLeomon and Darkdramon glowed white. "What's going on?" Arata asked.
"This light feels a lot like what Keisuke, and I used against GranDracmon."
"You mean when you brought out Pieldramon?"
"Wait…does that mean you can DNA Digivlolve your Digimon with Arata's?" Ami asked.
Takumi put on his googles. "Let's find out! BanchoLeomon!"
Arata held up his Digivice. "Darkdramon!" Both Digimon roared as they were enveloped in white light.
DNA DIGIVOLUTION
"BanchoLeomon…"
"Darkdramon…"
"DNA Digivolve to…" The white light rose up. And above where they stood something emerged from it. A white and green Digimon somewhat similar to Omnimon. It had BanchoLeamon's head for a right hand. Darkdramon's head for a left. "Chaosmon!"
"Chaosmon?" Ami asked.
Ben scanned it. "Chaosmon. Ultra Level Vaccine Type. A DNA Digimon unlike others for maintaining it's two DigiCores instead of them fusing together. A being that "should not exist"."
"Heh. Fitting if you ask me." Arata smirked. "You Cyber Sleuths were always about making the impossible possible. I think this guy is a personification of that."
Takumi smiled. "When I have my friends backing me, I know I can take whatever life throws at me."
Chaosmon floated up towards Lugia. "That's right. We won't lose. Not to anyone. No matter what Sabios does to haunt us, we won't let him have the last laugh."
Ben smiled. "Alright. Let's go!"
Chaosdramon zoomed past Lugia. It turned around and howled as more whirlpools in the water rose up. Chaosmon maneuvered around all of them gracefully as he kept going. Lugia shot a Hyper Beam, but Chaosmon stayed ahead of it, as it traced after him. Lugia was hit by a blast of fire from behind and looked back at Ho-oh and Ben. Images of it's past flashed before it's eyes.
Ravio, Celebi and Ho-oh stood before Sabios and Lugia on the Sky Fortress. "Your crimes end here! You're going to pay for playing with the lives of people and Pokemon in Oblivia!"
Sabios, clad in the Golden laughed. "Fool. Oblivia, along with it's people and Pokemon belong to me. If you do not bow to my will, you will perish here. Lugia! Attack!"
"SABIOS! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Ravio and Ho-oh charged at Sabios and Ho-oh.
Ho-oh slammed it's beak in Lugia's belly, pushing it back. It slammed one of it's wings down on Ho-oh's back like a fist, hammering it into the water.
"Saint Knuckle!" Chaosmon slammed his BanchoLeamon-shapped fist into Lugia's face. He spun around the other side of Lugia's head and kicked it. It flew a good distance. Lugia noticed Chaosmon rush up and now being right above It and clapped its wings, trying to crush him, but he vanished at the last second. Ho-oh headbutted it as it came out of the water.
Ben pointed his Weaver of Light forward. "Ho-oh!"
Ravio deflected a punch from Sabios with the Weaver of Light then pointed it at the battling Pokemon. "Ho-oh! Use Fire Blast!"
Ho-oh howled and spewed star-shaped fire from it's mouth right in Lugia's face.
Lugia was pushed back further by the flames. Pichu was playing music as it rode Staraptor, spinning around Lugia along with the Stylers. Lugia's eyes shook as it struggled with multiple emotions.
Tanvir, Kira and many others watched from one of the islands that formed from the original Oblivia's destruction. They Sky Fortress still floated above them, ominously. "Ravio…" Kira sighed. "I knew we should have gone with him."
Tanvir put a hand on her shoulder. "Give the boy some credit. He's not a child anymore…even if he sometimes acts like one."
"He has grown so much." Elios said. "What I would give to have Ben and the others see him now…I know he'll prevail. He'll keep the promise we made all of them."
Back on the Fortress, Sabio yelped as he slid back on his feet. He regained his balance and saw Ravio's smirk. He looked into his eyes and glared. "That look in your eyes…just like the meddlers…It makes me angry!" He charged at him with his hands glowing purple. "You think you're better than me?!"
Ravio charged at him with the Weaver of Light in hand. "I will stop you!" As he swung the Weaver of Light, Sabios caught it in his hands and sparks flew everywhere. Meanwhile, above them Lugia spun like a top.
Lugia started spinning and then spiraled its way towards them. Chaosmon dodged it and it turned around, spinning towards him again and again. Choasmon dodged all the attacks until it got a lock on Lugia when it came at his front. "Destruction!" Chaosmon fired a purple orb at Lugia from it's Darkdramon head that blasted it out of the attack. Ho-oh flew in front of Lugia and spread it's wings.
Sabios jumped at Ravio who jumped back as Sabio's dug his fist into the ground where he stood. Celebi blasted him with light.
"Ho-oh!"
"Lugia!"
"Sky Attack!" Ravio and Sabios ordered simultaneously.
Both birds glowed before they rammed into each other. They were at a stalemate for a moment, not budging as they rammed their skulls into each other.
"PICHU!" Pichu dropped a bolt of lighting on Lugia, weakening it for Ho-oh to power through. It spiraled into the air before it stopped it glared at the Union and opened it's mouth.
"Is it going to try to destroy The Union?!" Ami asked.
"Ho-oh! Chaosmon, get back here!" Ben said.
Sabios was on his knees gasping. "How…how dare you…! I…am the Great Sabios! LUGIA! Destroy this insolent welp! I don't care if you have to destroy this fortress or all of Oblivia as long as he perishes! Aeroblast!"
Ravio glared at him. "As long as you're around, Ben and Oblivia have no future!" He held up the Weaver of Light. "We will stop you Sabios! Ho-oh! Sacred Fire! Celebi! Life Dew!" Ravio's partner glowed as it strengthened Ho-oh.
Ho-oh gathered flames in its mouth in front of the ship as a strong wind gathered in Lugia's mouth. Chaosmon pointed his Darkdramon head at it. "Dark Prominence!" Ben, Summer, Takumi, and Arata stood their ground. The others gulped as they backed up.
Kira gasped as she and the others saw red and white light emanating from the top of the Fortress. "Ravio!"
"Be strong son!" Elios said.
On the fortress Ravio held the Weaver of Light forward. "Ben…Takumi…everyone…give me strength!"
Ben looked at the rage and hate in Lugia's eyes. "Hang on. I'll set you free from the chains of your past now."
"YOU'RE FINISHED!" Sabios yelled as Lugia fired.
"GO!" Ravio yelled as Ho-oh also attacked.
Ho-oh and Chaosmon's attacks collided with Ho-oh. After a brief struggle they pushed forward and their attacks slowly overpowered Lugia's.
Lugia was blasted by flames. "NO! Sabios yelled.
"It's over now!" Ravio charged and thrusted the glowing Weaver of Light into Sabios' chest.
Lugia's eyes widened as it remembered it's previous defeat. It glared and howled, leaning forward and making the Aeroblast double in size as it pushed back Ho-oh and Chaosmon's attacks.
"No!" Ben grunted as the harsh wind threatened to blow everyone away.
"Supreme Cannon!" A purple blast joined the attack struggle and stopped the Aeroblast from advancing any further.
Everyone looked next to Chaosmon. "Omnimon?" Summer gasped.
"Sorry I'm late guys." Everyone turned around to see Nokia, holding her Digivice.
"Nokia! Are you alright?!" Takumi asked.
"I'm fine. Now let's finish this tussle!" Nokia said as she stood with Takumi and Arata.
Ben looked at his friends and smiled. "Let's go!"
The three Tamers looked ahead with him. "Right!"
Ho-oh, Omnimon, and Chaosmon pushed forward, and their combined attack increased in size and blazed through the Aeroblast. Lugia was in shock as it engulfed it. "Transcendent sword!"
"Bantyo Blade!" Chaosmon's BanchoLeamon head produced a sword as he and Omnimon zoomed in and slashed it with fiery steel. Lugia howled as it slumped, barely able to stay afloat.
"Ben!" Takumi yelled.
"Summer!" Nokia shouted.
The Rangers charged their Stylers and fired, drawing one last rainbow loop around Lugia.
Sabios on the floor with the hero standing over him. Lugia, free from control flew away and the armor came off of Sabios' body. He weakly reached a hand towards it before the pieces flew away in the same direction. "This can't be happening…!" Sabios growled. "After evreything…I was so close…!"
"It's over Sabios." Ravio said.
"Yes…you're right…It's over…" The man leaned up and grinned evilly at him. "For all of Oblivia!"
"What?" Suddenly everything started shaking. Ravio and Celebi looked around them as Sabios laughed. "What did you just do?! What's happening?!"
"You've done it now, you reckless brat! Did you not even consider what would happen if I lost the armor that controlled the Sky Fortress?! As we speak it's falling into the ocean!"
"So, we're going for a swim, is that it? I'll just have Celebi teleport everyone off this thing before it can sink into the ocean."
"Oh, you don't need to worry about us. I designed this Fortress so it could float on the water's surface in case this happened. However, by my calculations, I guarantee you that once it hits the sea at this speed it'll create a tsunami bog enough to swallow all of Oblivia!"
"WHAT?!"
Sabios laughed. "You couldn't save this region after all! Disappear Oblivia! If I cannot rule this land, then I have no need for it!"
Ravio grunted. "No…Father…Kira…Tanvir…Everyone…It can't end like this!"
"Bi, bi!" Celibi grabbed his arm.
"Huh? Celebi?" Celebi pointed at Ho-oh. "You think Ho-oh can do something? Wait…It can dispel the barrier…maybe it has some power of this thing!" Ravio held up the Weaver of Light. "Ho-oh, I beg of you! If there is any possible way you can pull it off…Stop the Sky Fortress from destroying Oblivia! Save the many people and Pokemon that wish for peace!"
"Kreeeeeahh!" The Pokemon howled and flew off. Once it got some distance it flew back towards the Sky Fortress, leaving a golden trail. Suddenly the Sky Fortress started to lose speed.
"It…it slowed down."
"What…?" Sabios felt the Sky Fortress they were on land softly in the water. "How…this shouldn't be possible."
Ravio looked up in the sky to see the sun shining brightly as the dark clouds faded. He saw Ho-oh cry out one last time before flying off into the horizon. "Thank you Ho-oh." He held up the Weaver of Light towards it and smiled. "Ben…Takumi…everyone…it's finally over."
"Lugia!" Summer shouted. "It's okay! The people that hurt you are gone! We don't want to bring you any harm! So please calm down! Trust us!" Lugia looked straight at Summer. It howled and started to glow. Summer stared at it. "A Guardian Sign?"
Ben smiled. "It's all yours Summer…the final Guardian Sign."
"Right." Summer traced it into her Styler. "I hope I get a chance to use it someday…"
Lugia flew away. "Is Lugia okay now?" Murph asked. "Is it still angry?"
"Everything is fine now." Ben smiled. Ho-oh flew off and Chaosmon and Omnimon returned to Terriermon, Keremon, Agumon and Gabumon.
Blue Eyes smiled. "Managing to calm down Lugia like that…You're amazing."
"Cyber Rangers are really awesome!" one of the ex-Pinchers exclaimed.
Another nodded. "Our leader's safe! We're safe! And it's all thanks to those Cyber Rangers!"
"It looks like you've become even better." The third one added.
"Lugia was still enraged over losing to the Hero of Oblivia…to Ravio all those years ago." Ben said, looking at the Weaver of Light. "Ravio didn't have a Capture Styler back then, so he had no means of getting it to understand his feelings of friendship towards Pokemon while it was being used by Sabios. So, all he could do was force it into submission. But that didn't change how it felt inside. Its heart was in turmoil all these years and its anger never subsided. It felt the same, all this time…"
Takumi smiled. "Its heart was tied down by that hatred for all these years. But you set it free Ben. You opened its heart."
"Yeah…But why do you think Lugia was in the Easter Sea of all places?"
Blue Eyes looked at the relic in her hands. "Lugia was probably trying to protect this treasure…"
Murph shrugged. "Hmmm…I suspect it might be something else…"
"At any rate, this happened because of us! We're sorry, Leader!" one of the Pinchers said.
"We're very, very sorry, leader!"
"Wh-what are you apologizing for? Knock it off. I don't know what you're talking about."
"Aww, she's shy!" Nokia teased.
Blue Eyes ignored her. "M-Murph…We're really tired. Can you get the ship to a port? Please hurry."
Murph nodded. "Okay, let's do that. Let's do it! Well then, we're off for Tilt Village. All aboard!"
Back at Tilt Village, the gang met up with the rest of Blue Eyes' Ex-Pinchers and her Pokemon/Digimon as well as Kyoko, Matayoshi, Date, Rand's family and Professor Hastings. Blue Eyes was explaining the situation. "…So, you see, it was my fault for being dazzled by this treasure. My followers, who were just trying to save me, are not to blame at all."
The Pinchers were in shock. "L-leader?"
"I'm the only one who deserves punishment. My followers all had a chance of heart long ago, so please just let them go."
"Leader?!"
Matayoshi folded his arms. "Hmm…that's a strange story, wouldn't you say, Date?"
"Yeah, it doesn't quite add up sir. At least not compared to the story Rand and I got from these two." Rand nodded.
"We're sorry, leader!" one of the Pinchers behind them whimpered.
"We told Rand and Date everything!"
Blue Eyes' eyes widened. Rand smiled. "So, your followers, who had received a tip about a treasure in the Undersea Cavern, unknown to their leader, went diving in the ocean to get that treasure."
"That's wrong!" Blue Eyes objected.
Date held up her hand stopping her before continuing for Rand. "But there was a violent ocean current there, and a Pokemon they've never seen was going wild. But one of them got drawn into the current, so not having any other choice, they contacted their leader."
Blue Eyes looked down. Matayoshi smiled. "Even though you were mad at the selfish acts of your followers, you went there…And saved them."
One of the Pinchers stepped forward. "That was me…"
"Then Lugia showed up." Kyoko said. "With Betamon and Blastoise you tried to fight it off, but it was too strong for you to handle. They both got hurt, so you let them, and your followers flee first, but you were caught under a falling rock."
Blue Eyes put a hand over her face and sighed. "How dare you make up a story like that…"
"Leader! You don't need to cover for us anymore!"
"Leader!"
"Leader!"
Murph nodded. "Now I see. So that is what happened, then."
"So, Makiko, what did you and Rand do to make them spill the beans?" Nokia asked. "How violent was it?"
"Rand, did you use pro-wrestling moves to get those two to talk?" Murph asked.
"No, Rand and Date were very nice!" one of the Pinchers said.
"I doubt that." Arata murmured.
"They said that if we didn't tell the truth, our leader would probably try to cover for us and take all the blame herself…"
"And they were right." Nema said. "That's exactly what she just did."
"I was surprised. Things happened just as they said they would."
Matayoshi smiled. "Date may be rough around the edges, but she really wants to do the right thing."
"Well, I guess you could say that I can relate to Blue Eyes and her gang here to some degree." Date replied. "They just want to make a fresh start while watching out for each other."
"And Rand is very good at understanding people. That's why he's so well liked by the people of Oblivia." Professor Hastings replied. "There's more to a Ranger's work than just capturing Pokemon."
Rand smiled. "Professor Hastings…"
"At any rate, this time Rand and Date's caring, Blue Eyes' leadership, and Ben and the other's actions saved everyone. Ben, Summer, would you represent everyone and pose for us?"
"Yes sir!" the Rangers nodded.
"Here we go…Mission Clear!"
The two Rangers posed together. "Looking cool!" Murph smiled.
Takumi chuckled. "I guess this'll be the last time I ever see that…I'll miss it."
Blue Eyes sighed. "But…As long as this treasure is here, Lugia might return to retrieve it."
"I already told you before." Murph said. "That's not going to happen!"
"About that, it looks like that thing's pretty messed up." Nokia said. "Did it get damaged when you were fighting Lugia?"
"No, it was like that when we found it." Betamon replied.
"Huh. It looks kinda familiar." Palmon said. "Hey, Leanne, any idea what it is?"
Leanne looked at it. "I sure do. That's called the Rainbow Grail."
Everyone gasped. "What?!" Ben asked. "I thought I left that at the Rainbow Dais! Did it fall into the ocean while we were fighting Ho-oh?"
Rand folded his arms. "It appears in an old legend in Oblivia, and this is..."
One of the Pinchers gasped. "So, it's an amazing treasure, then!"
Leanne shook her head. "No. A replica of it. It's fake. I imagine the real one is still where Ben left it."
"Fake?!" Blue Eyes asked.
"It's a prop for the Rainbow Festival. It's made of Papier-mache."
"P-papier-mache?!"
Professor Hastings looked at it. "From the looks of it, it was disfigured. Maybe it didn't turn out right and was thrown away in the ocean. Or perhaps…someone dropped it in the ocean by mistake."
One of the pinchers scratched his head. "Now that you mention it, there were other things like bottles, cans, and broken Z.Z. Flyers in that cave."
"Wow. I guess the one I salvaged for Nema wasn't the only one that got wrecked." Ben said. "Come to think of it, one of you Pinchers mentioned something about Latios and Latias ramming them…"
One of the Pinchers gulped. "Well, I…I've accidently thrown bottles from my Z.Z. Flyer.
Another looked away. "I've thrown cans…"
"The strong tidal flows must take garbage from all over and deposit it in that cave." Rand said.
"Maybe Lugia was also angry about all the pollution in the ocean." Ami suggested. "That combined with it getting hurt by Ravio because of Sabios must have made it think lowly of humans."
Kyoko ruffled Ami's hair. "Observant, Watson."
Professor Hastings nodded. "I think that is the best way to look at it. Lugia doesn't care about that papier-mache grail, but it was trying to protect the ocean."
One of the Pinchers sighed. "I feel terrible."
"I need to think about what I've done…"
"Well, as long as you guys learned your lesion." Ben said. "The ocean is not just Lugia's home, but also that of many Pokemon, we can't use it as a dump."
Arata rolled his eyes. "Alright pot, you done calling the kettles black over there?"
Ben turned to him. "Excuse me?"
"Let's not forget who's responsible for the crème de la crème of the mess down there that this treasure hunt was all about "Pokemon Ranger"."
"What are you talking about?"
"Doesn't the way that fake grail's bent up seem familiar to you Ben? It looks a lot like something a certain someone yeeted a few months back."
"Whated?" Summer asked.
"Think back to when the Sky Fortress first appeared. We needed the Rainbow Grail and the Rainbow Dias to get past that barrier. Of course, at the time, we didn't know the ones for the festival were just props, so we hurried straight to Booker's place for the papier-mache grail. Remember what happened next?"
Ben looked up as he tried to recall the events. (Flashback time, cue the harp)
Ben and Summer sighed. "Nothing's happening…" Ben grumbled.
"Of course, it ain't Ranger. Don't jump to conclusions!" Booker and the others approached.
"Okay, guys…" Nokia smiled nervously. "I've got bad news and more bad news. Which do you want first?"
"Oh gee, let me think on that for a minute." Ben replied sarcastically.
"The Rainbow Grail's just a replica for the Rainbow Festival, made from papier-mache!" Booker said.
Ben and Summer's eyes widened. "I thought it seemed awfully light!" Ben replied. "Where's the real one?"
"Rasp Cavern! There was the Hero's Trail durin' the Rainbow Festival, right? That was made fairly recently, too. The real Hero's Trail's waitin' in a room after that. Folks say the real Rainbow Grail is in there. We made a replica for the ceremony 'cause no one in the village could reach that room."
"And then there's the more bad news…" Nokia muttered. "That isn't the real Rainbow Dias you're standing on either. Booker made that for the festival, too. Nobody seems to know where the real one is."
Ben stood still for an awkward moment before he squinted and crushed the fake grail in his hands. "Thanks Booker. Maybe next time say something before I make a complete idiot out of myself." He threw it away as hard as he could. It really didn't help his dignity when he heard Summer giggle and the children laugh.
(Flashback's over, cue the harp again)
Ben just started into space with an awkward expression as Arata, Nokia, and Summer squinted at him. "Well?" Arata asked. "Ring any bells?"
Ben looked away. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Mmhmm."
Professor Hastings laughed. "From time to time, Pokemon teach us important lessons. To put it another way, you're right."
Takumi turned to one of the Pinchers. "This talk about thinking about what you've done reminds me. You…"
The Pincher jolted. "Yikes! M-me?"
"Yeah. About those Kingdra you attacked us with down there…"
Blue Eyes turned to said Pincher. "What?! Are you still manipulating Pokemon?"
"No, that's not it. Those Kingdra…They've taken a liking to me and won't leave my side."
Everyone heard noises from nearby and looked at the water, near The Union. Those same two Kingdra were sticking their heads out of the ocean. "Aww! Someone's got secret admirers!" Nokia giggled.
Professor Hastings chuckled. "Ha, ha, ha. That happens sometimes. Take good care of them!"
"Hey, everyone!" Everybody turned to Murph. "How about a cruise to celebrate obtaining the "fake" Rainbow Grail! Let's all enjoy Oblivia's sunset from aboard The Union!"
"Ah ha. That's a good idea." Hastings smiled.
"…Can we come, too?" Blue Eyes asked.
"Of course, you can!" Murph replied. "You were the ones who did such an excellent job finding the fake! Come on, get on! Get on!"
"You know, you really diminish the value of celebration when you stick the word "fake" in there like that." Date groaned.
"Fake, or not, I say that grail hold a lot of value given this experience we got because of it." Ami said.
"Remember what Booker told us?" Takumi smiled. "If you want a rich life, saving money in the bank is secondary to saving memories in your heart."
Ben smiled. "Yeah…And today…we got quite an experience."
"What are you doing, Ben?" Murph asked as he led Blue Eyes and her Pinchers aboard. "Come on! Get on, get on!" Ben laughed as he hurried over with Pichu, Summer and Staraptor.
"Hey, we should invite Keisuke and the others too." Takumi said. "I'll give them a call."
"Oh, that's right!" Murph smiled. "We should call Rythmi and our other Rangers, who are on patrol now, and all the other people in the village who helped us, and have them ride on The Union!"
Alphamon came out of Kyoko's Digivice. "Perhaps I'll call the remaining Royal Knights as well."
Murph ran past her. "I'll go run around first, so just go ahead and board The Union now!"
Professor Hastings smiled. "Shall we take advantage of this offer, Rand?"
Rand nodded. "Yes, sir!" He led his family and the professor onboard.
Nokia tapped Ami's shoulder. "Hey, can I talk to you for a minute?"
"Sure, what's up?"
Nokia glanced at Takumi who was busy calling up their friends. He signaled Ami to walked away with her a bit before whispering. "Can you tell me what happened after I lost consciousness? Everyone refuses to tell me. And when I asked Takumi, he started acting weird."
"Oh? You worried about him?" Ami grinned.
"Well, I also swallowed like a bucket of water down there! I'm surprised I made it! What happened?"
Ami giggled as she looked at her brother before turning back to Nokia. "Well, you see Nokia, Takumi and I are learning as many things as we can so we can help more people."
"Yeah?"
"Of course, we haven't really been following what each other was learning…"
"So?"
"I was surprised really." Ami grinned. "I had no idea Takumi learned CPR."
Nokia blinked. "Huh? Contractor Task Report?"
"No, that's CTR. CPR is Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation."
"What do cards have to do with anything?"
Ami sighed. "Okay, how to put it…it's when you…" Ami leaned in and whispered into Nokia's ear.
Nokia's face became redder than her hair. "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!"
Takumi was startled out of his call and turned around. "What's going on back there?"
Ami waved her hand. "Oh, nothing at all, big brother! Anyway, we're getting on the ship now!" She pushed Nokia towards The Union.
Takumi noted Nokia's shocked expression. "Wait…she didn't…"
Later that evening, the rest of the Digimon Tamers, Rythmi, the Pokemon Rangers, the Royal Knights, even Booker, Nick and Ralph and his friends along with other citizens of Obliva were aboard The Union. "Wow! What a beautiful view!" Nema smiled.
"You don't see this in the Digital World or Tokyo." Erika smiled. "Only here in Oblivia."
"It was a series of unfortunate events that led us all here." Yuuko smiled. "But I'm glad it happened."
"You sure make great ships, Booker." Ralph said.
Booker laughed. "It'll bulldoze through the fiercest of storms!"
Nick turned to him. "Boss, maybe someday I'll…No, I'll definitely make a ship that is as loved by everyone!"
"So…the legendary Pokemon Sabios used against Ravio, huh?" Ryuji asked, as he looked at the sea.
"Yeah." Arata nodded. "I guess it didn't leave Oblivia after Ravio defeated it."
"Was it as tough as it sounds?"
"Sure was, but nothing we couldn't handle."
"Still, next time something like this goes down, you could let us in on the action." Chitose said.
Arata laughed. "Careful what you wish for."
Takumi smiled as he looked out into the sea. There was something soothing about Oblivia's waters. It reminded him of his first voyage from Dolce Island to Renbow Island on that small boat with Ami, Ben, and Booker. "I'm going to miss this view."
"There you are."
Takumi turned around to see Nokia with a serious expression on her face. "Nokia?"
The girl grabbed his wrist. "Come with me. We need to talk. Now."
"Uh…" A nervous sweat ran down Takumi's face as she dragged him inside the ship.
Ami saw them leave and giggled. "Good luck bro."
Once they were deep inside the ship Nokia let go of Takumi's arm. The boy gulped. "Um…what was it Ami was telling you earlier?"
"She gave me the run down on how CPR works."
Takumi's face turned red. "L-look, I know what you're thinking, but it's not like I-
"Just shut up Tak!" Takumi shuddered as Nokia turned around and glared at him. She was blushing too. "Just listen, okay?"
"O…kay?"
"Two things." Nokia walked up to him. "First off…"
Suddenly Takumi was felling Nokia's hand slam against his face. "Ow!" He held his sore cheek. "What the-?!"
"That was for doing something weird to me while I was unconscious!"
"Hey, I-
"Second!" She grabbed Takumi's wrist and moved it from his face. She then leaned in and gave a gentle peck on Takumi's cheek right where she just slapped him. She backed up with an even redder face and looked more embarrassed then angry. "That's for saving my life. You're always doing anything you can for others, even the things you don't want to do." She walked towards the door and as she passed him whispered. "That's part of why I've always liked you."
Takumi stood there like a statue once he slowly moved his hand to his cheek. He was feeling all sorts of things right now… He had no idea how much time had passed before someone tapped his shoulder. "GYAAAAH!" He yelped and turned around to see his mentor. "K-Kyoko?! Don't do that!"
The detective was surprised by his reaction and chuckled. "My, my. I've never seen you so high strung. You were gone for a while. Evreything alright?"
"I'm fine…"
"Then come out and join us already."
"Right…" Takumi murmured as he followed Kyoko outside.
Kellyn looked at his fellow Ranger. "At any rate, Ben, Summer, it's amazing that you met Lugia while we were on patrol."
"And to think it begrudged the Hero for all these years." Solana said. "How tragic."
"One more mess we had to clean up because of Sabios." Yuugo sighed. "But hopefully this is the last of his misdeeds that haunt Oblivia."
"I'm not a Pokemon researcher, but I'm very interested in what Lugia looks like." Leanne said.
"Me too." Rythmi added. "It's called the guardian of the seas. Can you show us on your Stylers?"
"Um, sure." Ben said. "But the Styler's been acting a bit weird."
"Yeah, mine too." Summer added.
Leanne walked over to them. "Hey, aren't they are behaving a little strangely?"
"Let me see." Rythmi walked over to them. Ben and Summer's Stylers were beeping, flashing red and blue, and even playing music. "Huh? What is this?"
"Are they broken?" Nema asked.
"If they are, Nema can fix them." Calumon said.
"I wounder if the circuits were broken in the battle with Lugia…" Blue Eyes said.
"Here, let me have a look." Professor Hastings said. He approached them and looked at the Stylers. He gasped. "Ben! Summer!"
"Y-yes sir?" Summer asked nervously.
"You're unbelievable!"
The two gulped. "Did we do something wrong?" Ben muttered.
"Now you've gone and done something really outrageous!"
"Uh, oh…" Tokomon hid behind Nema.
"Ohh…Now you've made Prof. Hastings mad!" Murph shuddered.
Kentaurosmon sighed. "So much for this being a relaxing cruise. What did they do now?"
Rand hurried over. "Prof. Hastings, if you get that upset, your blood pressure will…"
But then he flashed a smile. "No, no, I'm not mad at all! In fact, it's the opposite!"
"Huh?" Keisuke asked. "What did they do?"
"Ben! Summer! You've really done it! You've captured every Pokemon in the Oblivia region!"
Everyone gasped and turned to the two Rangers. "What?! Really?!" Ben asked.
"Umm, umm, that means…" Summer stuttered. "Oh, I'm too worked up, and I can't remember!"
Murph smiled. "That means, in other words, Browser Complete!"
Rand nodded. "Exactly! Browser Complete! You two managed to achieve something I never could. Congratulations, Ben! Summer!"
Everyone applauded. "Congratulations!" Leanne smiled. "Looks like another legend has been born in Oblivia!"
"I may not be a Ranger, but I know this has to be something amazing!" Yu said.
"It sure is!" Otamamon nodded.
"Great job, both of you." Ryuji grinned.
"You worked hard and earned this honor." Monodramon added.
Chitose whistled. "Conrats, you two!"
"What an amazing suckness!" Armadilomon said.
"He means success!" Patamon corrected.
"You two are amazing!" Wormmon said. "I guess you're the vanguards of Oblivia!"
Erika smiled. "Great job, both of you."
Kentaurosmon chuckled. "Hmph. You did alright…for humans."
"You pulled through with an iron will!" Jesmon said.
"This is proof of your ability." Magnamon said.
"And your willingness to get along with Pokemon." UlforceVeedramon added.
Gallantmon nodded. "Take pride in this accomplishment."
"Yaaay! Congrats!" Nema cheered. "That's really amazing! Everyone should brag to their friends about it!"
"You guys were super cool too!" Calumon said.
"Yeah! You really were!" Tokomon added.
Booker smiled. "Ben, Summer, congratulations. I'd been thinkin' you'd be the ones who could do it. You said that was a Browser Complete, right?"
Ralph jumped for joy. "Browser Complete! That's really cool! Congratulations!"
"I don't have any words for how happy I am for you!" Nick cheered. "Ahh, what should I say…Congratulations, really!"
Matayoshi grinned. "You kids really are something else."
Biyomon saluted. "Ben! Summer! It was an honor working with you!"
Date grinned. "What next, you gonna catch every Pokemon in this world?"
"I bet they totally could!" Lopmon laughed.
Blue Eyes nodded. "You managed to communicate your feeling of friendship to many through Pokemon, and ones with very different personalities. That's amazing, Ben, Summer, Congrats!"
"Wohoo!" Betamon cheered. "I mean, I still don't quite get it, but it sounds like you did something amazing!"
"I guess this proves you two are the top dogs among Rangers." Fei smirked.
"Right on!" FanBeemon added.
Rythmi clapped. "Congratulations!"
"Rangers!" the Pinchers saluted. "Way to go!"
Yuugo smiled. "Congratulations, Ben, Summer. I'm happy we could see this before leaving Oblivia."
"Browser complete." Hagurumon said. "You have made history in Oblivia."
"One last memory to make here before we leave." Yuuko added. "And I'll treasure it, always."
"We all will." Guilmon added.
"You did great!" Murph added. "In other words, this cruise is also for celebrating Ben and Summer's Browser Complete!"
Solana laughed. "First the Ranger Contest now this. The rest of us better make sure we don't fall behind."
Lunick nodded. "You set a new example for all Rangers to follow."
Keith grinned. "Don't expect the rest of us to fall behind."
"I'm glad I got to see you accomplish this." Arata said. "And all the other cool things you pulled off."
Keremon laughed. "Life with Rangers is never dull!"
Nokia grinned. "Yeah! Our adventures in Oblivia were fun to the very end!"
"Great job Ben!" Agumon cheered.
"Yeah! You too Summer!" Gabumon added.
"I'd like to congratulate you as well, Ben and Summer!" Prof. Hastings smiled. "Sending you two to Oblivia was definitely the right decision."
"I agree." Kellyn smiled. "Perhaps it was fate."
"Either way, Ravio's legacy lives strongly in the two of you." Kate added.
"This makes for a good final chapter of your time with Oblivia." Kyoko smiled.
"Yes." Amphamon nodded. "You two truly are the new Heroes of Oblivia."
"I knew you two would prove to be amazing!" Ami laughed.
"Yeah!" Palmon nodded. "Nice going!"
"Ben, Summer, congratulations!" Takumi smiled. "It's hard to put into words, but I'm really glad to have had this adventure with you."
"Thank you, Ben and Summer!" Terriermon cheered.
"Pichu!" Pichu ran around Ben happily. "Pichu! Pichuuu!"
"Star!" Starapter flew around them in circles. "Staaaaar!"
Ben and Summer possessed one more time. Pichu strummed his ukulele as they stood in front of Oblivia's sunset. One final achievement in Oblivia. One final victorious Mission Clear.
Kyoko smiled as she put the file away. The last case they had in Oblivia. "So many cases…so many Quests. Many humans, Pokemon and Digimon involved."
Yukino nodded. "Takumi and Ami got to see so much. As hard as it was without them, I'm glad they got to experience all of this."
"I imagine you're proud of them."
"As proud as I'm sure their father is…"
Just then Takumi and Ami walked in. "Hey Kyoko! Reporting for duty!" Ami smiled. "Oh, hey mom! What brings you here?"
"Oh, Kyoko was telling me about your last case in Oblivia. The one with that "Lugia"." She noticed both her daughter and son had long sticks with points and plastic bags. "Um…what are those for?"
"Oh, these?" Takumi asked. "Ami and I have been removing litter from the streets whenever we go out. Reflecting on Oblivia made me think of how beautiful it was with its nature. And this high-tech world we live in doesn't have nearly as much."
"That's why we have to protect it." Ami replied. "Even if what we do only changes things a little bit, that's better then doing nothing, right?"
Yukina laughed at hugged her children. "That's my boy and girl. By the way Takumi, I had a chat with that girlfriend of yours yesterday…"
Takumi's face turned red. "Wha-Who told-?!" He then glared at his siter. "AMI!"
Yukina laughed as her daughter looked away and whistled. "First, Ami and Arata, now you and Nokia. You two are growling up fast on me."
Kyoko smiled. "Well since you two are here, let's get you some coffee before I give you the rundown on today's case. Care to join us Yukina?"
"Uh…I'd love to, but I um…have some work I left undone at home, I should probably get back now."
"A shame. Oh well. Next time then."
Yukina walked towards the door. She gave her kids one last glance. "You two listen to Kyoko and don't be out too late now."
"Okay!" Takumi smiled.
"See you tonight!" Ami added. "Love you!"
"You too." Yukina smiled before she left.
From Kyoko's Digivice Alphamon laughed. "And the story continues."
And with that we have finished the fifth arc. All the quests are done. My save file for Pokemon Ranger Guardian Signs I was playing alongside writing this story is no 100% complete. To be honest I can understand this was probably the least interesting arc of the story so far as it was just a bunch of sidequests. But I am still glad I did it. I wanted this to be a complete Guardian Sign story. That includes all quest and the multiplayer missions. And now we can move on to the final arc of the story. Once that's done my next story will be another Cyber Sleuth fanfic, but not a crossover with Pokemon. Just Digimon from beguiling to end.
But first, here's one more sneak peek on what the final arc will be about...
In a dark building on top of a mountain the door burst open. Three humans entered. One had bluish/black hair, a red and black shirt under a grey hooded jacket, black pants and white shoes. He had goggles around his neck. Next to him was a girl with hair similar to his only in a ponytail at the side. She had white shoes too and hooded culottes that was white, black and blue. She also had goggles around her neck. Both of them had peculiar gadgets around their left wrists. The last one was a blond boy in a black jacket and baggy black pants with headphones on.
Behind they grey-haired boy were a WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon. Behind the girl were a Hououmon and a Rosemon. Behind the blond boy was a tall Digimon clad in black armor. The grey-haired boy took one step into the dark room. "We know you're in here "Malevolent Fist"! Show yourself!"
"Oh my." A voice echoed. "Sounds like someone's in a bad mood today."
"We know what you're up to!" The girl shouted. "We know that you were in contact with someone from another dimension! And that you're planning to go to that dimension!"
"Huh. Thought I did a good enough job covering my trail."
"What is it you're up to this time?" the blond boy asked.
"Something marvelous." In front of them a dark silhouette was seen. "And I'm afraid I can't have you interfere. Fortunately, I already cracked the riddle of how to get to my destination."
"What?!" the grey-haired boy glared.
"That's right. You're too late. Oh, but I am glad you showed up. One last rumble to remember this world by." Dark wings spread. "So come kids! Give me a good fight like you always do!"
"You won't have your way!" the boy shouted as his WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon charged at the shadow. It vanished at the last moment as they attacked. Then it reappeared and bated them like baseballs.
"Starlight Explosion!" The Hououmon shot lights at it, but it swiftly evaded all of them.
"Thorn Whip!" The Rosemon shot her whip at it, while it was dodging but it caught the weapon in its hand. The Rosmeon grunted and tried to pull it in, but it pulled her. She was flung into it, and was punched in the gut, and it threw her to the floor. It drew a sword and was about to attack when the black-armored Digimon came in and blocked it with a sword from his right hand. The shadow jumped back, allowing the Rosemon to get back up.
"Tera Force!"
"Ice Wolf Claw!" the MetalGarurumon and the WarGreymon shot at it while it was in mid-air. The shadow's sword sliced the misses apart and from its other hand it shot a dark orb that obliterated the fireball. The dark armored Digimon jumped back, but the explosion knocked the WarGreymon, MetalGarurumon, the Houhoumon and the Rosemon back to the Tamers.
The shadow charged up another blast. The armored Digimon turned to them. "Look out!"
It shot a black orb at them that exploded. "All to easy…Hmm?" As the dust cleared, blue light shined from the grey-haired boy and girl's wrists. Their Digimon dissolved into blue pixels that each formed infinity signs and turned into wo golden eggs. A Omnimon and a Rosemon Burst Mode appeared. "Extra Cross Evolution, eh?" the shadow smirked.
"Let's finish this." The boy said. "Full power!"
"Supreme Cannon!"
"Aguichant Lèvres!" Both of them shot at the shadow who sidestepped both the attacks.
"Transcendent Cannon!" From it's left arm, the black knight shot a powerful laser that caught it off guard and blasted it into a wall. It then drew the sword on it's other hand. "Supreme Sword!"
"Finish him off!" the blond boy said.
"Go!" his grey-haired companion yelled.
The Omnimon drew his blade. "Transcendent Sword!" Both knights charged at the shadow.
"Sorry folks, show's over!" An orange light formed behind the shadow, blinding the Digimon and stopping theme in their tracks.
"What is that?!" the girl asked.
"No! He's opening a wormhole!" the blond boy yelled. "Stop him before he gets away!"
The knights charged again as they shadow jumped back into the light. "It's been fun guys, but I've grown tired of this Digital World! Time to see what fun other places have to offer!" His laughter echoed until the light faded right in front of the knights.
"No! He escaped!" The grey-haired boy yelled.
The black armored Digimon looked at a terminal nearby. "Looks like he had just enough energy for one jump. We can't follow."
The blond put a hand on his chin. "Maybe not, but maybe we can still figure out where he went." He hurried to the computer and started investigating. "Here it is."
The boy and girl looked over his shoulder. "That's where he's going?" The girl asked. "Wait…there aren't any Digimon in that world? Then why is he going there?"
"If it doesn't have Digimon it can't be a Digital World." The boy said. "Yet it still supports the existence of Digimon?"
The blond kept looking. "The word "Pokemon" seems to come up a lot."
"What the heck is that? What's that maniac up to?"
The Omnimon came over. "Guys, we need to inform Mirei and the others about this immediately."
"Okay." The grey-haired boy nodded.
"You guys go back to the city without me." The blond said. "I'm going to download his files into my Digivice and bring them back. I just hope we can find a way to give chase."
The boy and girl nodded and left with their Digimon. "This is bad." The black armored Digimon growled. "We were too lax with this threat. If only we succeeded in destroying him when we first had the chance."
"None of us imagine he'd go this far. We have to stop him. We can't let his chaos spread to other worlds."
And with that I will see you all next week for chapter one of the final arc. Cyber Ranger Guardian Story: The Malevolent Cipher!
